    Bro don’t build your stop on the floor. Build it on the hand truck. Also when separating stops organize them to the side leaving you a walk way. The quicker you learn the small details the better you’ll become.

      @@joshfox09hand truck is a dolly. It’s what you have when you wheel product down the ramp into each restaurant

      @@joshfox09 it’s another name for dolley, or cart. It’s what you use to wheel in the cases anywhere

    Whats the starting pay in Philadelphia? Debating between food service and ltl
    Also, are you guys unionized up there?

      We are union at $32

      Don’t do ltl. I did ltl for 4 years & recently switched over to foodservice. It’s extremely slow & does not pay at all. You have to go with a job that’s recession proof. Go to any food service companies. They always have work regardless of how bad the economy gets & you start off making 100k a year right off a bat at food service. ltl you’ll have to wait 15-20 years before you even touch 100k because you’ll have to work your way up.

    Sysco in MA is 5 days. $35-37 an hour depending on location.

    How much is overtime boss? I have my interview next week that lady didn’t want to talk to much just said 32 regular hour

    How long does it take to get hired after interview

      Your initial interview is over the phone then you do your road test . They told me 2 days after I took my road test that I was going to be hired

    Do they let you work more than 4 days?

      You only get off a 4 day route if you bid for a route that is 5 days. But from what I’m hearing that’ll take over a year to be available.

      @@M4_Trucking food service really ain’t bad just gotta find the right companies. It’s other companies routes pay the same and more than Sysco but don’t have you routed 14 hours. Like where I work now I make more in 48 hours a week 4 days a week then when I was working 55 hours a week 4 days a week at Sysco. And most of my hours drive time I only have 4-5 stops a day

    Eventually if you have the same routes you’ll be able to recognize what boxes go where even without looking at the tags cuz they always order the same stuff. As you go organize other stops to the side and leave room to get by. The key is to touch the same box as few times as you can to save time and get paid more.

      Yeah I can see that. I’m hoping that I can bid for a route soon. If not I’ll go another 6 months with random routes

      Training lasted about 3-4 weeks

      @@PhilD54 somewhat. You’ll start off 3-4 weeks with a trainer then another 3-4 weeks doing training routes by yourself.
