I love my B175, all my best spots are ones that I found myself. I did exactly what you did, I ran over spots that I knew were already there to see what they looked like. I actually zoom in even further, I only watch the bottom 10-15 feet.
This video is the Rosetta Stone, the holy grail, and the Bible rolled into one for the comparative value held in it. I had been looking for a video exactly like this for a very long time and eventually I gave up on finding it. Excellent work Captain Collier you have my deepest gratitude
What a video . First fish is a slab that will feed 10 people easily. Keep up catching and filming and sharing. Look forward to your videos every time they come out
@@CaptCollier I have been going through some serious health issues for a couple of years. I am getting stronger as I go.When I get better I want to book a trip with you and catch some big fish. I would love to get two big snapper like that hubcap size one you caught
Man that was just outstanding. Great job. A legitimate tutorial on how to locate structure with electronics, use the boat as a tool to get different vantage points or looks at the structure by using the track function to create different passes over and around it such as a figure 8, etc and then a straight up master class in lighter rig vertical jig fishing. One of the best offshore fishing videos I've ever seen. Great job Captain, hope to bend a rod with you one day as we venture West here in FL from Jacksonville which is our home waters.
This was great! I’ve always felt like I wasn’t using my electronics correctly! Can’t wait to try this out myself! Hopefully it will help the kids put more fish in the box! 😊
Good video captain! My brother and I use to do just that off Daytona Beach. I can't believe on such a beautiful day like that and not another boat in sight.
Great video Capt. I knew this info but a refresher helps with some stuff I didn’t know already. Thank you for doing this vid. That underwater cam video is badass. Great job
Just watched this video. Thank you so much. I haven’t been able to get simple directions on how to use my Simrad. I’m new to fishing on my own boat and using a Simrad. Tight lines
No problem. There are plenty of videos here on RUclips that give in-depth information on different Simrad units. I sat down and watched them all and took notes. And ofcourse it helps to get out on the water and test it out hands on
Great video! Been watchin' for a while, one of my favorite channels. I got to get a Gofish cam for seeing what's on a site I'm fishing in the future. What a monster snapper! Your videos where you try to get your wife to eat what you've caught trip me out, reminds me of me and my wife. I don't comment much on stuff I watch, so while I'm at it, a shout out to Tanner also! YEET!!!
Thanks! I think gofish cam actually went out of business but you may be able to find one online or a product similar somewhere. It is very convenient to actually see what’s down there. I appreciate it!
Another great video. Always look forward to them every week. Ready to book a fishing trip with you again this year when the family and I come down in May.
Great video and for sharing tips to read and to properly set up sonar and marking structure. Technology gives us the ability to fish more effectively and increase our chances of catching more fish.
Excellent video Captain!! Thank you for the education! Subbed last year and you quickly became my fav. Just got my first boat last year and still learning the offshore fishing. I was getting too old to fish my kayak around Pensacola anymore. Had to upgrade to a 22' bay boat. Your tips help us newbie's immensely. Thanks again brother!
Hey Capt. You are a máster in this matter. I am from and at curacao enjoying this quality information video of you. What was the dept there when you did catch that snapper ?
Captain Collier 1 question I have the identical electronic set up but when I travel that fast I get insane noise. Any idea how I can get the clear image that you get.
Could be a couple different things. I would play with your gain first. While your on plane, try and lower your gain until the “noise” is minimal to where you can read bottom. Also, you may be going to fast, most transom mount transducers only real well up to about 25-30mph. If you are still not able to read bottom while running I would check to see if it’s mounted correctly. You may be getting air bubbles messing you up if it’s mounted to low or too high
Do you do a similar thing to find natural bottom? I feel it would be a little different since some natural bottoms like the Swiss cheese bottom don’t create very noticeable readings
I don’t personally, I use the CMOR map chip for fishing our natural bottom areas, but I’m sure you could find some if you have a good transducer and cruise at a low speed.
Metro boating in Harvey, LA did mine when they installed all the other electronics but you could hit up Ken's Cartunes in mobile and they could do that for you
Idk if you’re being sarcastic or not but we have so many red snapper along our coast it’s not even funny.. we usually get a 3-4month season to catch and harvest them. I feel that’s pretty fair
Hey man, be careful tossing jigs in the water when the rod is not in a rod holder, that force pulled a combo in the water for me and lost a 1k slow pitch combo
So basically I need to go get a better transducer set up cause my Garmin doesn’t do all that 😭 I’m going to watch Garmin videos 🤣… lemme get some numbers hoss 🤣💀 jk
It doesn’t take much at all to hold numbers of fish that’s for sure! I actually prefer the smaller spots. I’m sure them crappie and bass love them trees
I love my B175, all my best spots are ones that I found myself. I did exactly what you did, I ran over spots that I knew were already there to see what they looked like. I actually zoom in even further, I only watch the bottom 10-15 feet.

I love making offshore content more than everything else. Anytime I get a weather window I try and take advantage of it!
I see in May you have got some days open. What would you go for.
Cool video. Why use such small set up on first drop?
Awesome
What transducer are you using?
Is there anyway to set your sonar machine where it will issue an alert when passing over structure?
I know you can make it sound off for fish marks, not sure about structure. Probably so though.
Do you have a link for those jigs?
Captain Collier

Thanks for the reply. I’m floating a 22’ Dauntless and I may have to redrill the mount holes 😢.
Your vids are fun and educational. Thanks again

Just curious, but won't these locations be online before you leave the dock? If so, why not just navigate there?
How deep was the second spot you found? 24:59 thanks for a great video!
110ft. I was suprised to see the scamp hanging out down there
Would you be able to stay out there 5 to 8 hours daily without a t-top ? I have a 21ft hewes redfisher and the sun JUST unbearable without a tTop
🙏
West coast is nice
😜 🤘
Like glass, wow.
Couldn’t ask for better conditions

Thank you Brandon. Hope to see you on the water! You and Nathan are great for fishing in our area.
My SS 175 HW will be here Monday! My AI 3 in 1 sucks offshore. Thanks again for the lead on this awesome transducer.
do u run a charter?
I do run nearshore snapper trips when the season is open. My booking site link is in the description below all my videos
I still need the coordinates 😂
Sure thing. I’ll get them right over to ya 😂
I'm from Readyville Tn an what I've been told there's no ARS s in the gulf. Why go spend monies in something you can't eat. Anit Fair for anyone!!

Naw I don’t have that good of a memory lol
don't sleep on them goofish rods. All I use up here
Man that’s all I use for my slow pitch setups. You can high stick the crap out of them and they will not break lol
@@CaptCollier Yupp! We use them with a simple high low set up all the time, you can feel every little tap with these rods.
I'm amazed at how little "structure" it takes to hold big fish. Around here they throw their Christmas trees in the lake.
