there's a seperate catagory for bloodbending, and he does take it. but when we see Amon fight or waterbend, he doesn't waterbend, he just uses his agility to his advantage and dodges waterbending attacks, unlike Katara, such as the Hama situation.

No he’s not. Yakone is stronger just like Ozai is stronger than Zuko and Azula. Amon was just more precise and skilled with the ability. But he never showed any feats beyond Yakone’s courtroom scene.

I'm interested how Katara can last atleast a single damn minute against future waterbending prodigy, I do understand that she is greatest water bender master in the end of the stories but all that gets shadowed by single feats not only by blood bending but also in water, he's for real after he did lose to plot armored Korra when he fell off building and almost drowning he instinctively made big water spout, this insane feat show how skillful and powerful is Amon
She was never the greatest at the end of the show, she was a noob who just started waterbending when she met aang and she never had training, she’s also not a prodigy cause it took her more than 5 years to Learn how to even waterbend so there’s no way she’s the greatest waterbender at the end of the series cause the time span of the series is not up to a year. You don’t go from being an absolute failure to being the best waterbender without training or experience

Amon when prepared, or mostly just aware of the attacker can’t lose. Even without obvious bending he’ll rarely lose unless it’s a fully realized avatar(which no one could reliably beat)or another high level master.
Katara fan girls need to wake tf up , they need to understand that waterebenders in general have to be at their strongest to bloodbend , katara only bloodbent under a full moon , when she was at her strongest but amon at her age learnt how to do it without the full moon but with his mind , They also need to understand that you need to be a strong waterbender to bloodbend and you need to be very strong to do it (thats why they need the full moon ) in the show yakone literly taught his kids waterbending before bloodbending , did you guys see how good tarrlock is ???? Tbh, Amon takes defense, literally in his fighting history no one had ever gotten a shot on him till Mako somehow managed to sneak his way in by using lightening which made his bending grip weaker which is why Korra was then able to break free from it (this last part is a theory I heard, dunno if that was really the case).
Wrong. In terms of raw power, there is no feat that proves Amon is leagues above her. The fact she was able to bloodbend a master bloodbender with zero practice on first try is insane. They are at least on par in strength. Amon just honed his bloodbending abilities more. But that matters not when it comes to breaking a bloodbending grip.

Katara's EXTREMELY overrated in the fandom and in universe. So Amon wouldn't lower his guard. Two possible outcomes: 1. He fights with the equalist, good luck Katara! You won't do much against a ton of guys who can chi block and zap you up. 2. He's alone, approaches her and bloodbends her when he's close enough..then he'll use chi blocking techniques to prevent her from breaking free with her plot bending. If she could theoretically break free from Amon's grip (we all know she can't). Amon's not dumb, he just underestimated Mako.

Amon might have it on blood bending, but what we see is 14 yo katara. As far as we are concerned child or adult, Amon trained mostly blood bending , not particularly water bending techniques of fighting. It would be up to knowing if katara maintained fighting after the war..

Amon mastered the art of psychic blood bending at the age of 14 without a full moon. Amon at 14 was more powerful than adult Katara. Along with Yakone he was the strongest non-avatar character in the entire verse.
Katara can use her bloodbending whenever she want just like aamon, there's a scene when katara in an airship uses her bloodbending to defeat the airship driver whether it was during the day or not, what was clear was that there was no full moon at that time. it's a scene of her want to take revenge for the man who took her mother, with Zuko help her

Even if by some miracle she does manage to fight him off, who’s to say he doesn’t just automatically lock her in again? Mako blasted him with lightning at point blank and it didn’t even knock him out, he was down for half a minute tops then was right back to pummeling him.😂 Amon’s one base WB feat is a 30+ ft spire, the only people comparable are a FM-boosted Pakku and 3 Avatars (Aang, Korra, UnaVaatu)

i feel like agility wise amon is better than katara i mean he had to pretend he was a non bender and he fought against benders all the time before taking their bending away. almost every fight he had he was just making his way through to his opponent while dodging their attacks
Versatility is Amon lol you forget blood bending, water bending, ice bending, and chi blocking Amon is way more versatile. Agility goes to Amon to he dodged point blank lighting. Water bending goes to Amon yall forget for someone to breakout of blood bending they must have a higher water bending level or capability then the person blood bending them. That’s not what experience is. Katara could barely waterbend at the start of the show and the version used is still a teenager while Amon is a grown man that’s been rigorously training since he was a kid.

Bffr katara could overstrenght a woman ( granny ) that studied blood bending since 16 and she had so much potential to overtake her at 14 yrs old. Unpopular opinion. Katara has a better chance of winning than that. Katara proved almost instantly resistant to blood bending by Hama after only being told about it. A feat only ever done partially by Mako, and by Aang and Korra, using avatar state. She also immediately learned blood bending as was capable of doing it on a bender. While Hama practices for months on days, and even Amon practiced on wolves first. She still may not win. But I do think it would be a higher diff
No she doesn't First off, Katara only had the power to bloodbend and break bloodbending grips DURING a full moon, she can't do it in the light of day considering Amon can bloodbend at any time Second off, Katara was naturally more powerful than Hama, sure, Hama discovered Bloodbending, but that doesnt make her the best, like hiw Han wasnt the best Avatar, despite being the first Third off, Mako only broke the grip because Amon lost focus momentarily, keep in mind the guy was single handedly crippling a firebending prodigy and the Avatar herself at the same time, Katara broke Hama's grip by using the power of the full moon to blood bend HERSELF out of it Katara has absolutely no defence against Bloodbending unless its a full moon, in which her power gets that boost to bloodbend herself out of it, but at the same time, Amon is also a bloodbender, and would also only get more powerful with the full moon

I tried looking into it but I couldn’t find anything about her blood bending at will. It takes a lot of practice to blood bend at will. Katara made it openly clear that she hated the idea of blood bending from the beginning so I don’t think she would try to practice it enough to be able to do it at will. Honestly a chi blocking, blood bending, with the power to take away bending wouldn’t get “eaten up” by any bender.
The current older Katara would probably be able to hold her own against Amon, since she knows the intricacies of bloodbending itself. She might be able to escape, but winning against Amon would require Avatar-level powers.
Katara can resist blood bending from an elderly woman during a full moon, but in this fight she's going up against a man in his 40's who can blood bend with his mind and at any time. There is no question that Katara would get demolished.

Katara has more experience, bending abilities, power (all amon does basically is run at you and place his hand on your head while katara can make a giant wave without that much effort and is a user of every water sub element except spirit bending. Not to mention she's a healing and blood bending prodigy and can resist blood bending just as well as amon and could just heal from injuries he inflicts on her or freeze him with a giant wave, amon isn't exactly proficient in water bending

I think you seem to have forgotten that mastering blood bending doesn't make you the most op water bender. Lets not act like every blood bender didn't get beaten up, arrested or have their bending taken away in 1 fight. Amon literally lost to 3 air blasts from a person who just learnt air bending... be so for real. Also katara doesn't actually even need the full moon if you think about it. If someone like amon can master blood bending without the full moon as a child katara can master it easily having more wisdom and experience and showcasing blood bending prodigy skills mastering blood bending in a matter of minutes without any guidance. Katara could analyse amon's technique and copy it easily like she has done with all sorts of water benders. Also hama may be the "weakest" blood bender but that doesn't make her a weak blood bender. Their technique is pretty much the same. That's like saying if toph throws a boulder and bumi throws a boulder and their both exactly the same size, one would win because they mastered earth bending better.... Not to mention katara can just blood bend amon back... She can heal because amon won't even be getting close to her. I think you also seem to be forgetting that katara has been able to best the most skilled chi blocker in the avatar universe on multiple occassions so chi blocking is out of the picture. My blood bending poitn from before cancels out that option. How's he gonna remove her bending when he's gonna be out in the ocean after katara pulls a korra on him. Making a water spout really isn't that big.. Katara literally doesn't even use the water spout technique because she has better alternatives... being able to ride on ice surfboards, making ice bridges, skating across water, making giant waves to ride on and attack enemies at once. If katara wanted she could. Your water bending point is cancelled. I hope you finally realise that amon really ain't all that. There's a reason why blood benders don't and could never rule the world.

If katara didnt have moral limits she would be able to bloodbend whenever she wants, im totally sure katara is the water master with more hability and versality while hama (Who was katara's master for a short time) is the blood master with more power. And the fact that hama is the most powerful water master of all times is something that TLOK get rid of. Actually Amon isn’t really that powerful if you think about it. It only took 3 people to defeat him (Korra, mako, lieutenant) with one person being a non bender. He bloodbend a Korra and easily takes her bending, lieutenant sees this and intervenes and is killed by Amon, he gets electrocuted by mako being able to maneuver out of his bloodbending. He then returns to bloodbend mako again, this time Korra blows him away with air bending and EASILY resists him (WITHOUT the avatar state OR her other bending) and proceeds to blow him out the window. In comparison, Yakone blood bender a court room with like 80 people. People give Amon more credit than what he deserves.

Well, korra was held for so long by Tarlok and couldn't break out. Tarlok also immediately put to sleep some of the strongest benders in about 3secs; but with all that, he had nothing on Amon. Amon would have easily been able to accomplish that feat. We see him do this effortlessly on a number of animals from a distance at 14. There's also a difference when the blood bender is concentrating on the opponent. If not for korra's intervention, Mako would definitely have lost his bending the second time, he was already put in position and this time the grip was stronger. Of course storyline and plot amor allows the avatar win. Against Katara however, the match would pretty much go how it went with Thano. He would close in with every second, dodging and deflecting every strike with his psychic bending and acrobatics. Once in range, he would quickly put her in place, chi block her, and take her bending. That's even if he doesn't just start it off with blood bending already. Katara is physically powerless, all the characters that broke out of the bending in LOK relied on will and physical power, not necessarily a superior bending ability. Korra was already dispatched before; Katara in that state would be useless.
No...just no. The lieutenant didn't even get a hit in before he was tossed away like trash. Korra (the Avatar) got ragdolled by Amon and Mako only just barely managed to strike Amon because he underestimated Mako. Then Korra unlocked her airbending at the perfectly convenient time, allowing her to get a surprise attack on Amon. Amon lost because of a variety of circumstances based largely on luck. Korra only escaped the bloodbending grip because Amon had been blasted with electricity into a wall seconds prior. Every other time she failed in escaping his grip.

Defence goes to Amon. He was training to resist every type of bending, including waterbending for 20+ years.
That’s why I gave him a point for resistance but we’ve never seen him defend or block an incoming waterbending attack like Katara did against Hama, he only ever evades or dodges them with his speed.

Amon when prepared, or mostly just aware of the attacker can’t lose. Even without obvious bending he’ll rarely lose unless it’s a fully realized avatar(which no one could reliably beat)or another high level master.

Tbh, Amon takes defense, literally in his fighting history no one had ever gotten a shot on him till Mako somehow managed to sneak his way in by using lightening which made his bending grip weaker which is why Korra was then able to break free from it (this last part is a theory I heard, dunno if that was really the case).

Katara's EXTREMELY overrated in the fandom and in universe. So Amon wouldn't lower his guard. Two possible outcomes: 1. He fights with the equalist, good luck Katara! Bffr katara could overstrenght a woman ( granny ) that studied blood bending since 16 and she had so much potential to overtake her at 14 yrs old. Unpopular opinion. Katara has a better chance of winning than that.
Katara proved almost instantly resistant to blood bending by Hama after only being told about it. A feat only ever done partially by Mako, and by Aang and Korra, using avatar state.
She also immediately learned blood bending as was capable of doing it on a bender. While Hama practices for months on days, and even Amon practiced on wolves first.
She still may not win. But I do think it would be a higher diff

First off, Katara only had the power to bloodbend and break bloodbending grips DURING a full moon, she can't do it in the light of day considering Amon can bloodbend at any time
Second off, Katara was naturally more powerful than Hama, sure, Hama discovered Bloodbending, but that doesnt make her the best, like hiw Han wasnt the best Avatar, despite being the first
Third off, Mako only broke the grip because Amon lost focus momentarily, keep in mind the guy was single handedly crippling a firebending prodigy and the Avatar herself at the same time, Katara broke Hama's grip by using the power of the full moon to blood bend HERSELF out of it
Katara has absolutely no defence against Bloodbending unless its a full moon, in which her power gets that boost to bloodbend herself out of it, but at the same time, Amon is also a bloodbender, and would also only get more powerful with the full moon

just a friendly reminder that katara bloodbends without a full moon in the comics. Just because she isn’t willing to use it as her main source of combat doesn’t mean an inability to. If Mako and Korra could resist his bloodbending, then Katara could with ease. she eats him up period

I tried looking into it but I couldn’t find anything about her blood bending at will. It takes a lot of practice to blood bend at will. Katara made it openly clear that she hated the idea of blood bending from the beginning so I don’t think she would try to practice it enough to be able to do it at will. Honestly a chi blocking, blood bending, with the power to take away bending wouldn’t get “eaten up” by any bender.

The current older Katara would probably be able to hold her own against Amon, since she knows the intricacies of bloodbending itself. She might be able to escape, but winning against Amon would require Avatar-level powers.

Katara can resist blood bending from an elderly woman during a full moon, but in this fight she's going up against a man in his 40's who can blood bend with his mind and at any time. There is no question that Katara would get demolished.

Katara has more experience, bending abilities, power (all amon does basically is run at you and place his hand on your head while katara can make a giant wave without that much effort and is a user of every water sub element except spirit bending. Not to mention she's a healing and blood bending prodigy and can resist blood bending just as well as amon and could just heal from injuries he inflicts on her or freeze him with a giant wave, amon isn't exactly proficient in water bending
@Wes Bradley-Taubner Katara has aged since avatar the last airbender, giving her more experience not to mention she had learnt southern, northern and foggy swamp tribe water bending techniques. I think you seem to have forgotten that mastering blood bending doesn't make you the most op water bender. Lets not act like every blood bender didn't get beaten up, arrested or have their bending taken away in 1 fight. Amon literally lost to 3 air blasts from a person who just learnt air bending... be so for real. Also katara doesn't actually even need the full moon if you think about it. If someone like amon can master blood bending without the full moon as a child katara can master it easily having more wisdom and experience and showcasing blood bending prodigy skills mastering blood bending in a matter of minutes without any guidance. Katara could analyse amon's technique and copy it easily like she has done with all sorts of water benders. Also hama may be the "weakest" blood bender but that doesn't make her a weak blood bender. Their technique is pretty much the same. That's like saying if toph throws a boulder and bumi throws a boulder and their both exactly the same size, one would win because they mastered earth bending better.... Not to mention katara can just blood bend amon back... She can heal because amon won't even be getting close to her. I think you also seem to be forgetting that katara has been able to best the most skilled chi blocker in the avatar universe on multiple occassions so chi blocking is out of the picture. My blood bending poitn from before cancels out that option. How's he gonna remove her bending when he's gonna be out in the ocean after katara pulls a korra on him. Making a water spout really isn't that big.. Katara literally doesn't even use the water spout technique because she has better alternatives... being able to ride on ice surfboards, making ice bridges, skating across water, making giant waves to ride on and attack enemies at once. If katara wanted she could. Your water bending point is cancelled. I hope you finally realise that amon really ain't all that. There's a reason why blood benders don't and could never rule the world.

If katara didnt have moral limits she would be able to bloodbend whenever she wants, im totally sure katara is the water master with more hability and versality while hama (Who was katara's master for a short time) is the blood master with more power. And the fact that hama is the most powerful water master of all times is something that TLOK get rid of. I hate amon since the first time i saw him cause he, his dad and his brother are the reason why bloodbending lost the "Surprise" to me. Bloodbending is something so powerful thar its own and unic weakness is the original water master itself, the moon. Thats why i think it would be better if bloodbending kept that weakness that makes it so special. Its like a say i heard about: Things are better when they are a rarity

Actually Amon isn’t really that powerful if you think about it.
It only took 3 people to defeat him (Korra, mako, lieutenant) with one person being a non bender.
He bloodbend a Korra and easily takes her bending, lieutenant sees this and intervenes and is killed by Amon, he gets electrocuted by mako being able to maneuver out of his bloodbending.
He then returns to bloodbend mako again, this time Korra blows him away with air bending and EASILY resists him (WITHOUT the avatar state OR her other bending) and proceeds to blow him out the window.
In comparison, Yakone blood bender a court room with like 80 people.

Well, korra was held for so long by Tarlok and couldn't break out. Tarlok also immediately put to sleep some of the strongest benders in about 3secs; but with all that, he had nothing on Amon. Amon would have easily been able to accomplish that feat. We see him do this effortlessly on a number of animals from a distance at 14. There's also a difference when the blood bender is concentrating on the opponent. If not for korra's intervention, Mako would definitely have lost his bending the second time, he was already put in position and this time the grip was stronger. Of course storyline and plot amor allows the avatar win. Against Katara however, the match would pretty much go how it went with Thano. He would close in with every second, dodging and deflecting every strike with his psychic bending and acrobatics. Once in range, he would quickly put her in place, chi block her, and take her bending. That's even if he doesn't just start it off with blood bending already. Katara is physically powerless, all the characters that broke out of the bending in LOK relied on will and physical power, not necessarily a superior bending ability. Korra was already dispatched before; Katara in that state would be useless.
No...just no. The lieutenant didn't even get a hit in before he was tossed away like trash. Korra (the Avatar) got ragdolled by Amon and Mako only just barely managed to strike Amon because he underestimated Mako. Then Korra unlocked her airbending at the perfectly convenient time, allowing her to get a surprise attack on Amon. Amon lost because of a variety of circumstances based largely on luck. Korra only escaped the bloodbending grip because Amon had been blasted with electricity into a wall seconds prior. Every other time she failed in escaping his grip.

Katara has resistance 1 feat under a max moon amp, which is the most base condition to even use the technique. It took both the full moon and absorbing water from the grass at her feet for her to fight off an 80 year old woman who was well past her prime; and there’s no record of her improving in the skill since then, nvm facing and/or defeating someone of Amon’s lvl. Even if by some miracle she does manage to fight him off, who’s to say he doesn’t just automatically lock her in again? Mako blasted him with lightning at point blank and it didn’t even knock him out, he was down for half a minute tops then was right back to pummeling him.😂 Amon’s one base WB feat is a 30+ ft spire, the only people comparable are a FM-boosted Pakku and 3 Avatars (Aang, Korra, UnaVaatu).
