    Hi
Yes the other taping is mainly for whole joint stability. However, this technique is not really intended for use in the late stages of rehab, when you are able to play football! It is more for earlier stages of rehab. You may find a knee brace better for you.

Look for McDavid braces. I have two types. One type has a tightening strip above and below the knee. The better (and more expensive one) also has four strips that cross and surround the patella, very similar to the taping technique shown in this video clip. I can still do sports but nothing is as good as my original knee. I also take anti-inflammatories and ice my knee later if there is pain. GOOD LUCK!!

This taping technique is mainly for the prehabilitation stage (prior to surgery) and post-surgery rehabilitation. For playing sport a hinged brace may be more suitable

Just suck it up. After your knee has recovered from the pain/trauma. Your body will gradually start to depend on your hamstrings more to stabilise your knee. I have torn cruciate AND shallow throclear grooves but would feel fine doing some kind of wrestling and controlled shorter kicks, I regularly do barbell squats which is very therapeutic. Running is the only thing that really sends my hamstring into overdrive and problematic.

@JoaoPauloDupui Gangrene?! Highly unlikely, unless you wrap the tape so tight you cut off all blood flow!

Where can you find the cheapest prices on the Elastikon tape? $5.50 is the cheapest I've been able to find. Thank you for the video.

i need help please, i strained my knee before 2 months ago and went to my physical therapist to do some exercises, the doctor said that its definitely getting stronger but it hurts when i try to run, other than that, i have no pain at all. can some one tell me if i really have a serious injury or not?

Braces don't prevent re-injury. The ligaments used to replace the ACL are stonger than the actual ligaments, so another rupture is caused by going back to sport to soon or by being very unlucky and doing it again.

I have ruptured my acl in my right knee, torn cartilage and also I have an anema on my bone marrow. Will this hold my knee together to play hockey? I am meant to be getting operated on my I have been out straight through to my county squad and can't afford to miss out as this is my last year.
