As a limited edition Seiko should have packaged it in a nicer box and included the silicone strap. Seiko should put more care into how they present their watches….

I took it off the bracelet and put it on the blue silicone strap that comes on the Willard diver 👌👌👌!!!! Case dimensions, finishing and dial design are on the same level as any entry luxury diver! (Ie Tudor). Where this falls short is on the movement….it’s a shame. And also the bracelet could be better. This is a home run for Seiko, BUT with a bit more refinement, this could have been a grand slam!
Can't go wrong with any of the SPB divers! All the same but different colours schemes. Just like when I buy a nice shirt or pair of pants I like, I usually buy it in multiple colours. I have both the SPB 143 and SPB 147. Simply choose your favourite 2 colours and grab them! Please do a review on the Seiko SPB203, thanks.

This watch is fantastic, bought one at my local dealer $100 of retail, seemed fair. I love it, and the one knock which is robust but not so accurate movement has not been an issue for me. I have been tracking mine compared to GMT for 2 weeks, it is less than 30 seconds slow in 2 weeks, that's great. Buy this watch, you will not be disappointed.
I spy that little CountyComm Glo Marker in the background to the left! : ) I got one as well. It stays on my keys so they are easy to find in the dark. Once a lume junkie, always a lume junkie! Cheers
The 213 is my One exception to my recent avoidance of any new expensive Seiko releases. It is dropdead gorgeous and irresistible despite the too-high price and low beat movement. Managed to get a new one under $1k USD. There are many great alternatives now to Seiko lowbeat watches at fair prices (Island, San Martin, Sharkey-Heimdallr, Norske, etc) it is easy bypass Seiko itself. I couldn’t find a homage to the 213 and succumbed…..once.
Love my SPB213J1. The case is just too good, I'm planning to get an SPB143J1 or SPB147J1. The SPB213J1 is a limited edition of 6000 pcs but the serial number is the limited edition number. The blue bezel plays tricks depending on the lighting condition. Not a perfect watch but definitely a looker.
Do you know if the SPB and SBDC come out of the same factory? Some people claim the SBDC is higher quality, which I don't buy. If both are made in Japan wouldn't they be coming off the same line?

Would be curious your thoughts on the 6R35 and 8L35 for that matter vs like standard, elabore, premium, or COSC versions of ETA and Sellita. Seiko's factory accuracy specs tend to be so overbroad that I'm wondering how these really stack up side by side...
I’ve got an SPB153 with 6R35 and SLA053 with 8L35. No idea about the finishing as they are closed case back but people have opened up 8L35 cases and it look lovely. My experience is that you notice the higher beat rate of 8L35 straight away. The other main thing for me is how much nicer 8L35 feels when setting on the the crown. Like the movement is submerged in oil or something, it’s noticeably smoother. I don’t measure the accuracy of my watches so can’t comment on that either.
Have the spb143 and I’m just getting bored with it…I’m a smaller guy with 7.25” wrist, it just feels too bulky, heavy, and thick. The bracelet is not the best the divers clasp is just lol, I am looking for something closer to bb58 dimensions. Also, having all the indices be exactly the same rectangles does give it a boring feel after a while. The sub or bb mix it up with circles which I like. The vaer d5 dive watch might do it for me eventually
I hate the added lume plot to the right of the date window. It looks tacked on (because it is) and ruins the dial for me. I understand Seiko added this to meet the ISO 6425 standard. I would absolutely love to see a no-date variant of the spb143 line of watches so that lume is not sitting in the middle of the minutes track.
Gotta unbox them anyway, may as well record and share. 3 to 4 vids made per night. Weekends off. It’s a full time gig on top of my full time job. Zero chill time
I love Seiko but for $1200 they could do better than pins in the bracelet. It's an awesome looking watch. I'd love to have one. As a 6' tall man with 7-7.25" wrist 38-42 is right in my wheelhouse. Glad to see more styles going away from the massive 45mm+ watches.

I really wanted to buy the spb185 but the bracelet's rattling and squeaking, which is a problem even in the grand seiko snow flake, is the only thing that drives me away from spending money on these nice designs

I thought this was a “limited edition”?… Went into a local AD, good looking watch and was about to pull the trigger but that silver white dial killed it for me. I thought it was a white dial so I went with the 143 instead. For me anything above $700 has to come from an AD especially Seiko. That way you can see what your getting and you meet great people as well.

They most likely are made side by side. Part numbers are changed for different markets is all.
