    I know reviving is a comic book thing but I don’t think general audiences will latch onto a revival of a character like that. I could be wrong, but comic book readers are used to those “resets.”
    Also, a wholesale bringing him back would open up the Pandora’s box for every character who died to come back at any point. Tony’s one of the deaths right now that actually happened and remained untouched.

    What frustrates me is they have new leaders. Falcon/Cap should’ve been the new head of the avengers. But they just haven’t used him. Why why why has there not been a post credits scene of him approaching Shang chi, or ms marvel, or even spidey???

    They don't even have to bring him back to life. In armor wars. You could have a bunch of flashbacks with roadie and other characters spending time with Tony. Then they could do the AI thing everyone is pitching.

    - Someone saw that the ultimate universe is doing well and has decided to do something similar in their own way XD
    - There is nothing wrong with RDJ returning as an important cameo, and I wouldn't be surprised if he did (he already has his Oscar), at least in movies the the multiverse is used to bring back previous and nostalgic versions of certain characters. Besides, it's not like he's coming back to stay, he's already in another stage of his career. BUT if they don't bring him back, it wouldn't be a bad thing either.

    Iron Man could undergo a Reign of Supermen route - AI suit, AI LMD, Ironheart with AI, a biological clone (with some wires crossed?) and finally a variant selected by Loki, God of stories. All except the last one could be played by RDJ, and the variant could be a different younger actor.

  • @Paradox-es3bl
    @Paradox-es3bl Месяц назад +1

    I'd much prefer AI or variant Tony. Leave our Tony dead. For 2 basic reasons: 1) it's the perfect end to his character. 2) they already did that story with Ant-Man. Idc if they could do it well this time, it's been done. Move on.
    Bringing him back would be about as bad as bringing back Paul Walker's Brian after Fast 7, except Paul is dead and RDJ isn't so obviously a bit worse. But still, that movie was the perfect send off for that character, just like Endgame and our Tony. They already brought in the multiverse and super advanced AI like Ultron, Jarvis, and Vision... there's ZERO reason to bring back our Tony, imo. If they don't do it well, it'll suck, and even if they do it perfectly, it might not be the better way to have done things. There's basically zero risk to AI or variant Tony, and they can still do interesting stories.
    Does AI Tony have a soul? Does he still love his daughter 3,000? What if variant Tony is gay? That could be interesting. Does he still basically adopt our Tony's daughter? All kinds of ways to do interesting things with either of them, even without involving Pepper and his daughter. Peter. The other Avengers that are alive like Doctor Strange and Thor. Rhodey. Everyone could think he's a Skrull but he's just a variant. All benefit, zero risk. It's just the smarter choice than bringing back our Tony, imo. It also lets RDJ do something at least a little different, in case he'd actually like to ACT at all? I've heard of many actors liking to be challenged at least a bit. Better than a stale role.

  • @MeSpawn297
    @MeSpawn297 Месяц назад

    AI Tony is the only way to go. OG Tony's story is done. Bringing him back I think ruins that. Why do we want him back? Because RDJ is amazing and hilarious. So AI Tony can do EVERYTHING OG can except literally be him. So it's not invalidating the sacrifice.

  • @eduardoperezrubio4965

    I think bring back would be a horrible idea because it would be saying "Oh you loved the journey through phase 3? PSYCH! HAHA WE DONT CARE WE GOT YOU BACK" Act like this is a soft reboot. Act like you dont have a preexisting audience and you need to earn them, because if you brought him back it INSTANTLY diminsihes endgame. Also if its the same quality phase 4 had. They will hate the mcu even more. Bring him back in a way thatd have people going HOLY FUCKING SHIT. Because it is a massive part of movie history.

    At this point the MCU needs to start over, they wasted two whole phases I honestly thought were just a single one. Outside of 2-3 GOOD releases and a lot of mid stuff, nobody has any clue what we are working towards. Phase 1, come together. Phase 2&3 Thanos. Phase 4 dick around? phase 5 pretend like we're still in phase 4? phase 6 is.... ?

    I only really feel okay with Robert Downey Jr. returning as Iron Man from another universe as part of the whole Secret Wars thing but resurrecting him doesn't feel right. And yet, it's not the same as if you tried to bring Black Widow back because of how the Soul Stone works in the MCU. Unfortunately we've seen the MCU fall to a certain point that we're even considering this, but holograms and an AI aren't bad because it fits his character, and we did have the recording in Endgame that seemed to kind of know where everything was in the room. I don't know, everything's still being worked out because of fallout from just about everything from the pandemic to dead actors to shifts in management to strikes and everything inbetween, and I still have faith they can craft a story that works, but just as an impulse reaction, I just don't like the idea of RDJ coming back as Iron Man for an extended period of time.

    "Well, guys. I've got my Oscar now. How about we resurrect Tony?!"

  • @CinemaniacComicsCorner
    @CinemaniacComicsCorner Месяц назад

    No. Stuff like this is why comics are so stupid and messy. They twist the stories into pretzels in order to have characters come back every time they die just so that they can be around even if they don’t have anything to do because no one has an actual idea for said character but the character sells so they just have to be around. It has caused comics to loose any impact or effect big stories and developments might have. And we don’t need to see that in the movies.
    One of the few advantages movies have over comics is that the stories can have a beginning, a middle and an actual end. And that’s partially because the actors age and can’t keep playing the roles forever (well, unless they heavily utilize anti-aging, digital doubles and stunt people). This gives the movies a chance to actually have a real story that moves forward and allows characters to grow and change (and die), which is one of the biggest complaints against ongoing superhero comics, that they don’t have any of that.
    Besides, people don’t really want RDJ’s Iron Man to come back. They only think they do because people are dumb. People love Terminator and Terminator 2 and say they want more but then we get movies like Terminator 3. There is a reason why there is a growing backlash against Hollywood’s obsession of rebooting, remaking and continuing every single franchise in history with an underwhelming cash-grab sequel. Not every franchise and movie needs to be brought back or continued. You can only go back to the same well for so many times until the law of diminishing returns starts to kick in. Sometimes it’s best to just stop and go out on top. And for RDJ’s Iron Man his fate in Endgame was going out on top and bringing him back would only lessen that story and its conclusion.
    Not to mention that it wouldn’t even solve MCU’s problems because just bringing RDJ’s Iron Man back doesn’t mean anything if the writing is anywhere from bad to mediocre or if there isn’t an organic and logical story for him in place. If they bring him back as a desperate measure just to boost box office instead of focusing on trying to improve on their other shortcomings, then it will inevitably suck and in retrospect lessen the already amazing stories they have told, much like Palpatine’s unexplained return in RoS retroactively made original trilogy loose a lot of its impact.

    He was wearing the infinity gauntlet. The story could go anywhere because of that. Start it like lord of the rings 2, where it follows Gandalf adventure.
    Start a movie from Tony's point of view as he dusts the bad guys. Then as he is dying he delves more into the power of the gauntlet particularly the time and the omniscient part of the gauntlet where he knows everything. Have him see a future where he and his family die unless he interferes now using the gauntlet.
    So you see Tony appearing to people setting the puzzle pieces into place to reform another team. Leading to the new characters and old characters being able to return.
    Really he was a genius wearing the infinity gauntlet. Do you really think he just laid there and died after only doing that one thing? The gauntlet can do anything... Anything the wearer can conceive and it was on Tony Stark. He could have turned his last 3 seconds into 3 millennia

    • @Paradox-es3bl
      @Paradox-es3bl Месяц назад

      Uh, yes, he really did die doing nothing else. He couldn't survive the gauntlet, remember? If he tried to use it for even 1 other thing, he simply would've died faster. Also, he wasn't even using the gauntlet. He stole the Stones and was using his nanosuit. 😒 But regardless, there was nothing else he could do.
      Look, I'm sure I'd love RDJ back... but it shouldn't be as our Tony. AI or variant.

    • @DepletedWisdom
      @DepletedWisdom Месяц назад

      @@Paradox-es3bl It is still the infinity gauntlet. Anything is possible. With a thought he could have became an astral form or repaired his body.
      I was not suggesting bringing him back permanently. But within the seconds before death he moves throughout time and space to create a future his daughter can be safe in. But have the cosmic entity Eternity on his heels because Tony is basically replacing him as Thanos did in the comics. Chaos ensues. Tony and Eternity is stopped by the living tribunal and his changes are allowed to exist if he gives up the power of the gauntlet. With his arc ending again on the battlefield.
      Will this take away from the impact of his death in End Game? A bit if done incorrectly. But it has potential to give legitimacy to a new team of avengers. to bring focus on a new set of heroes or send others off into obscurity.
