The birds are so beautiful, they remind me of the bible verse that told us not to worry Matthew 6:26 that says " Look at the birds of the Air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Don't you have more value than them? in a time of scarcity , uncertainty or doubt instead of worry, depending on the viewers mindset, it's good to look at them knowing that the God that feeds and has His eyes on the Sparrow has His eyes on us too. You are a great inspiration to your viewers, art community and the world at large. Thank you so much for sharing sweet friend 👍
So cool you talked about octopus! I can never ever eat octopus again as they are so smart and endearing. I loved!!!! that Netflix show My Octopus Teacher and my family loved it. It changes people hearts and has you rethink about non human life and how its all soooo important on this planet.
yes- "My Octopus Teacher" (I think I said "the Octopus Teacher" in my video). Thanks for this comment. I was just thinking of watching this Netfix documentary again with my son as it's so beautiful, thoughtful, eye opening. I also cannot eat octopus ever again. thanks for writing Linda.
A wonderful video again 😃 I enjoyed seeing your different styles with the different mediums you used ❤. The watercolor lesson was very calming to me too✨
Love seeing how your work found its voice your journey has been exciting, inspiring and magical. It's great to see you going back over work then continuing its story. The video awakes tired or sleeping inspiration can't wait to try, or even retry finding the stories and possibilities in old work. Thank you for sharing great video. 👍👍👏👏👏❤❤
Another wonderful video Allison! I am a little intimidated to try to paint birds but want to learn. Can you share what class you took for the birds? I have so many classes and techniques I want to explore. I have been working through a lot of Laura Horn's classes and want to try classes from Flora Bowley and Susan Nethercote. My list keeps getting longer. 😃 As part of a Laura Horn lesson, I have been painting a set of botanical studies with acrylic inks the last few days - they are so fascinating. I love how they can explode on the page. Your reticulated style is so unique - love it! Thanks for sharing.
i am also taking Laura’s classes. she’s wonderful in so many ways. the class i took for the birds was one that was offered thru Amanda Evanston’s “insider studio” membership. it was taught by an artist that she had as a guest- Lisa Concannon . that was the main source of my bird inspiration. thanks for the lovely comments and chat.
@@allisondawrant Thank you for sharing the resources. I'll keep an eye on the Insider Studio. A couple other artist that I admire for their birds are Geninne Zlatkis and Natasha Newton. I'm sure there are so many more out there and my list will grow :) I'm still finding my way and style. And I love seeing what others create. Thanks again!
I have to watch it w these paints…you mentioned the cadmium yellow and needing gloves. I never knew that and I’m a very messy painter -in part the paint on my skin and forcing myself to allow the messiness is part of my healing work. But I never heard the paints are potentially toxic 😱

yes, paints can be toxic and I’m likely overly cautious…. but it’s good to be aware…
Very inspiring - thank you for sharing.

I'm curious about how you create "reticulated texture"?
