Hello, I have the same problem. Do you have any suggestions on how to change the spark plugs in the back?

Fairly soon, updates to my other van will trickle down to this one.

I have changed the rear spark plugs on our 3800 Silhouette by driving the van onto some ramps, then blocking the wheels and setting the parking brake. I then put down a sheet of cardboard and reached them from underneath. Quick and easy.

@@ryanfoster9863 So, I think it is easier to change it from the bottom rather than the top. I wonder how the authorized service changes it, what is the most accurate and easiest method?

The Haynes manual on page 1-25 advises that doing it from underneath may be the best way to do it.

Nice score ! I'm surprised the underside is so clean. I found with my old Transsport that the fuel door was sticky. After i pulled the release I would just use my key or finger nail to pop it open the rest of the way way. way.

Good to know. My first van the owner assumed it was broken, but some lubrication brought the cable right back. Otherwise I have a few JY units from the 94+ vans that use a spring and a finger hole. They also have a place to hold your gas cap, which is handy.

Very cool van! Looks salvageable with that little rust. I’d enjoy a tutorial on fixing the clear-coat as I’ve the same job coming up. Perhaps giving her a good cleaning/lubrication and mothballing her for future restoration? Swapping that power seat unit and the fluffy seats could be nice. The rear air is a nice bonus, is she R-134 or R-12?

Where is the temperature sensor and the temperature sender unit? I have the same van and can't locate.. my temp gauge reads full hot with key on or off and I need to fix. Please help 🙏

My understanding is they are both located on the drivers side of the engine. One near the throttle body and the other one behind it. One is for the gauge and one for the pcm, I’m not sure which is which.
