- Ange Postecoglou was asked about Tottenham fans chanting ‘we hate Arsenal’ during their side’s 2-0 defeat to Manchester City, which leaves Pep Guardiola’s side just one win from retaining the Premier League title. Postecoglou didn’t hold back and also claimed that the foundations are ‘pretty fragile’ at Tottenham.
TIMESTAMPS
00:00 - Intro.
00:07 - Performance overall: Disappointed to lose. Big moments for both teams which they capitalised on. That garnered the outcome.
00:43 - Set up and positives: Up until the first goal we were more dominant. You have to take the big moments. Ultimately we need to take the big moments.
01:18 - Foundations for next season?: The last 48 hours has revealed to the foundations are fragile.
01:31 - Because of atmosphere?: The last 48 hours has revealed a lot, but back to the drawing board.
01:43 - Arsenal chants: not interested, don’t care.
01:49 - Where?: Outside and inside, interesting exercise.
01:56 - Players?: It’s just my observation mate I’m not telling you. I misread what’s important about becoming a winning team.
02:25 - Summer plans: Got nothing to do with them.
02:38 - Tied up with arsenal?: I’m just not interested, I just want to win. I need to concentrate on winning.
03:10 - It is what it is mate, I can’t dictate what people think.
03:31 - I know what I want to do here, I have to make adjustments.
03:45 - Youngster who came on: We’ve been keen to give him game time, it’s reward for him.
04:20 - Expecting son to score: you bank on him doing so. We had decent chances. Their first goal we lacked discipline.
04:53 - Bentancur: I didn’t notice, I don’t care.
05:00 - Happy with the team application: If I was watching a different game, I saw us go match the benchmark team.

under achieved this year. Ange is a Fighter and a Spartan. Spartans only know Victory or Death. It's a shame Kane
didn't stay at Spurs, he may have made a big difference to the outcome this year. Look at the Fiasco he ended up in at Bayern this year. They have grossly under performed after hastily sacking Oliver Khan who was still acclimatising
in his new position there.
Regardless of what has transpired so far Ange,s second year at any new club is his BIG ONE ! You can be sure he will
pull out all stops imaginable at Spurs with an Iron Will. Winning the Title will be his goal. Anything less than that will be
unacceptable. It's going to be an exciting year for Spurs next season.Ange will be relentless to achieve for Spurs.
I don't understand why Man City got that penalty when the defender got the ball?
And VAR checked it and said on-field decision was correct? It just wasn't a penalty...
And the TV only looked at the replay one time and there was no discussion about how he literally got the ball
You are blind
100% correct - Porro got the ball fair and square
We played well tonight!
He has a,right to be angry!!
The fans willing us to loose are, wrong!
I think if that game was played earlier, with the support of the crowd you would've got something from that game. It's hard to be motivated with the fan base wanting the other team to win
@potentialswillrule
Exactly 💯
Whatever he's angry about is more than just the fans and we may loose ange now then they won't be happy!
Respect to Angie, proper sportsman. Love from an Gunner
Isn’t it true if Tottenham lose their last game and Chelsea and Newcastle win their remaining games Tottenham will drop to conference league?? Check the table.
Spurs ain’t losing to Sheffield. Even Port Vale would beat Sheffield
@@YeTism It’s spurs mate, what could be more spursy. Sheffield wanting to go out on a high and spurs feelin down and out already, anything’s possible.
@@YeTismliterally scored 2 Goals after 90 minutes to beat them earlier in the season after trailing 1-0, it's definitely not beyond the realms of possibility
Sheffield United last game, no way they lose that
@@RELEONSK and they’re away this time, given their last appearance in the PL the fans will be full voice… obviously highly unlikely but as you said, not beyond the realms of possibility.
Ah come on, it's not about the fanbase, it's about the manager. Look at spurs under Poch, same fan base, different team on the field.
Did Poch win something?
@@niallg3551 no, but he did so so well at spurs. It's hard 2 win things in the premier league, most teams don't. A select few win regularly and occasionally you get a wild card like Leicester and Wigan. Under Poch Tottenham were consistently a challenging team, reaching finals, overcoming big teams regularly. Very well respected. Yes didn't cross the line with a trophy but who knows if he'd been given time. This is all a circus, media, fan storm. The manager ought to take no notice and deliver glory on the pitch no matter who says what or thinks what. Poch was the man, shouldn't have sacked him. I pray Ange finds Jesus and trusts in Him
Says the man who can’t be bothered working on set pieces 😂
😂Exactly
Ange is seeing now exactly what Conte was saying- Spuds will win nothing because they have a truly rotten fan base who have been cheering on the opposition to beat them and that goes against every principle Ange has.
Watching Spurs fans, pundits, and commentators all rejoicing that their team has been beaten is akin to mutiny and is a disgrace.
Did Son really want to score? We’ll never know. A truly sad and pathetic club; Ange mate, you’ll waste your life at that embarrassing shithole, winning Managers have said it and you’ve now seen it.
Good on you Ange
Loser mentality from fans, players, staff and almost everyone...
Big Ange is too big for Spuds... They won't win a trophy for another 100 yrs...
So you’re telling me, if this was the other way round, Arsenal fans wouldn’t react in the same way?
Different class of football club. Spurs are a waste
i wouldn´t care i wish my football club win games what happens happens.
Might be happy to stop them. But would definitely not stay as silent as a church, only to start singing when my team concede a goal😂 and singing more when conceding another one. I mean, who would be happy abt being a shite club
In what century are Spurs competing with City for the league and Arsenal are mediocre 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@FLEXXUNDERGROUNDBIM In what way? Finishing in the top 4 twice in the last 9-10 years? They have as much pts atm as Spurs in 16/17. Had the league in their own hands, lost to Villa now blame Spurs fans for their shortcomings, pretty pathetic.
Today showed that fans are what are holding back this club and not lack of ambition by the management, or players or coaches,,, the team turned up and went after man city, unfortunately the vast majority of the fans were quiet and denied the atmosphere needed to push the team to a win and a potential UCL qualification.
Yes sure, because the fans run the club, control the transfer funds, scout and buy potential targets, train the players and pick the team and formation. Hahaha what utter nonsense you type
From an arsenal fan, Ange is spot on! When your rivalry is more important than the love for your club, you have real issues.
You want to win but the fans and players are happy with a lose. Imagine Son got a chance to equalise but he just gabbled it. Son don't always lose one on one chances but today he did it.
No matter what Cheaty 115 wins, they'll always be tainted and so will the EPL. Disgrace of a league.
Lmao cry more bitter...
Fact
Agreed but they still play and win. When will the FA actually charge them, is still to be seen.
Interesting interview. As a United fan this is the type of speech before a manager gets sacked
or leaves
@@elastotec173 he won’t leave though
Respect his mentality (as a supporter of a rival club)
Hope he leaves, English football fans are fannies
Postecoglou is absolutely furious he lost this game 😂
On the other hand the whole world is happy to see arsenal tears Mikel spending 700 million just to end up with a Covid FA cup 😂 goodnight guys 💙💙💙💙
This will be (if it will be) the last title for plastic gay blues💙
700 million for 2nd place is pretty solid tbh
There's an awful lot he's not happy with
At least we aren't facing 115 charges.
Now he’s savaged the fans three times in a few weeks. Love big Ange, they don’t deserve him at that club.
Spot on from Ange, this kind of mentality is exactly why Tottenham can never win anything.
As a spurs fan i love to say thank you to haaland for saving the Premier league for us
For you? you won’t ever win anything, mid team for life.
Fair play to City
@stevet9418 we've already won trophies not like you so get lost
@@HaytersTV fair play to them we can't let arsenal win that's plain and simple
weak mentality.
I'm Arsenal fan, but not from UK, so I never really hated Spurs. Actually, this season, I loved their playing style.
Well, today it all changed, small minded team and fans, who can't think big, and have no integrity and fair play. They gifted the win to Man city. That's why they mid club and will stay that way.
I hope Ange leaves. He deserves better. And I think something happened between players in the past 48 hours, and he knew they will play like this. That's why he is so angry.
*RE EDIT
Well, today it all changed as our small minded team and fans shamelessly supported Spurs in hoping that they could do us a favor and stop us being branded as a 2 bob club who haven't won a title in 20 years or a European Cup in 30
Unlucky!
An Arsenal fan and big up to Ange and the players,a man of integrity.I didn't see a team that wanted to loose
Wow!!…..Another manager calling out the club and fans mentality!! He was furious!!
The fact the fans would rather stop arsenal winning (yet regardless of the result comes down to Sunday) and arsenal could lose to Everton
And fans would rather cheer missing out of champions league. Imagine if Chelsea or someone takes that 5th spot. Ange clearly has a winning mentality. You are at the wrong club for that my bro. Fun for the hills
Problem with Spurs the manager is more serious than the players and fans
Love this guy's honesty.. A decent Coach.. If Spurs pull the trigger on him for his Honesty.. They'll yet again feel regret
"I know what's important to build a winning team." Yet the dude said he refuses to bring in a set-piece specialist or fix their set piece issues. Lost 4 matches in a row. Maybe it's Ange who has lost the plot.
I’m very surprised he can be bothered dealing with this nonsense. He is the manager of Tottenham Hotspur. They should be concentrating on themselves which is his point not what other people are doing.
Exactly - he should be managing the team and not turning his nose up at the rivalry the club has with Arsenal. If he's baffled by the basic concept of a football derby and rivalry (I mean, he managed Celtic) then he's got some learning to do. But I suspect he's very much clued up on how football rivalry works and how intense club rivarly is, but is instead playing dumb in order to give it the big'un and make himself look good. It's easy to go down that road, I'm not a Spurs fan but I'd be pissed off if my manager was acting in this disingenuous manner.
He doesn’t give a shit about the rivalry, all he cares about is his team. I’m guessing he thought the supporters of Spurs were the same but I guess not. Still gonna get bantered by Arsenal supporters because they have beaten spurs in every metic this season
@@Henro_aus no-one expects him to be the same about the rivalry but he should at least have a basic understanding about the nature of it, which in reality of course he has. But he’s used the situation to play dumb in order to paint himself as some hard man ‘winner’ who’s somehow a victim in this scenario. I’m not even a spurs fan and I can see through his BS, and he should be called out for it.
@@searchterminatorseed2301 did you listen to what he said? He is gutted that he thought he, the club and the fans were aligned in what they want for the club and clearly found out that’s not the case
@@Henro_aus “clearly found out that’s not the case” 😂 a once in a blue moon (pardon the pun), unique situation arose which will probably never happen again and any set of fans who say they wouldn’t have mixed feelings in such a weird situation are absolutely lying. Do you think there were no Liverpool fans who were conflicted in 94 when Blackburn turned up to Anfield to win the league over Man Utd? Are you honestly going to lie to yourself and pretend your answer is no? Of course some would have felt conflicted, because intense rivalry is part of football! It’s nothing new ffs 😂 to use it as a stick to beat spurs with is pathetic and for the manager to play dumb and use it as a way to paint himself as some misunderstood ‘winner’ is actually quite shameless. If you can’t see through it then you’ve bought it.
Spurs have lost 12 games, cannot defend but apparently he's annoyed with the fans - let that sink in
Even as a Arsenal fan you can't but like this guy...
I've straight up never witnessed a club wishing themselves down before. It is insane. The fact they would rather City win a historic 4-peat than another London team have a chance is obscene. Weakest mentality in the Prem
A man of integrity. Way too good for this joke of a club.
Exactly a year ago you had Conte saying the same thing just more clear and direct towards The owner. One year later same thing.
big ange went from winning the treble with Celtic and now has to deal with the small club mentality spurs and their fans have. imagine wanting your own club to fold to city just so arsenal dont win the league, joke of a fan base and im willing to bet the players have this mentality. mourinho, conte, and now ange have said it, i hope he leaves before spurs ruins his reputation.
As an arsenal fan, I have to commend the professionalism the spurs players showed even though they didn’t win, they clearly competed despite urges from the ridiculous fans who were suggesting the team should rollover so Arsenal doesn’t win the league.
You cant tell me the players wanted to win. A player of Son’s caliber missed that chance? Second half they played like they’ve been relegated.
@@koftownbabe Son is not the first person to miss an easy shot like that, even Halaand has missed a few. Because we weren’t in the players heads and they didn’t express their intentions to miss we have to give them the benefit of the doubt. Some of the fans on the other hand made their intentions clear. Always separate facts from opinions.
@@hpk3727 i will agree with you on the first part but regarding the players’ intentions yea true we cant say for sure but looking at how they played in the second half you cant tell me otherwise esp after this interview. Ange is talking abt the toxicity withIN and also outside which is the fanbase
@@koftownbabe Ange was clearly pissed at the fans and frustrated by the misses but he wasn’t implying those were intentional. I can only stick to the facts I know and that is fan behavior was abhorrent, player interactions were only known to them.
