Kittens will eat almost anything which kinda goes away once they are adults. My cat loved sauerkraut but once she grew up, she doesn't care for it. Now eggs, peas and corn that's a different story.

my little monster boy likes to chew on dum-dums (the lollipops). if they are in the house, he will try and get them to chomp em and then play with them like they are toys, so we have to hide em

So much so that he once sprinted out the front door and tried to jump into the neighbors house through the window because he smelled the grilled cheese she was making. Bro my neice (what I call my sister's cat) is the SAME WAY! I'll bring some food to munch on while i paint in my room sometimes, and in addition to trying to eat the cheese off my fingers, she'll also drink my paint water if i leave it uncovered when shes got a cup of her own RIGHT NEXT TO ME its scary! Her favorite cheeses are Havarti and Sharp cheddar, just like me :D

My two older cats (twins) will both harass and harangue me endlessly for ice cream. Except I'm vegan (tell me you're a lesbian without telling me you're a lesbian = this story, in this comment section) so it's all my plant based ice cream they go nuts over?? They also will dig into my shopping bags for any greens, but especially kale and strawberry tops.
@@irradiated_woman8016 if theyre searching for greens and ice cream, they might have an upset tummy- especially if theyre indoor cats, i would reccomend a pot of cat grass for them to nibble on, it may result in some hairballs but they'll love it

There's always some weird Human food that cats really like. I had a cat who loved pancakes. One of my current cats loves string beans (specifically playing with and trying to eat the ends of string beans my mom cuts off)
The other cat will only eat chicken breast and one specific cat food brand.

My cats have weird food likes. One of my boys likes carbs (crunchy pretzels are his favorite), the other boy likes the peanut butter filling in a Reese's, and my girl cat likes to eat just one goldfish cracker and taste a second one. The cat that likes carbs also chews on cardboard. Cats are weird little goblins.
But what you don't know is that his real name is Strange Aeons....

I was trying to explain this video to my step mom and blurted it out when she asked who the heck strange is,,,
I'm seeing a lot of people sharing their cats' love for weird foods, so I feel obligated to join in. My sphynx is OBSESSED with peas. I know many cats will eat them once in a while, but he goes absolutely insane for them. No interest in other vegetables, just peas. He will immediately notice me taking out the cup I defrost them in and start pacing around me screaming nonstop while I wait for the microwave to do its thing. It takes a while for me to cool them down and mash them for him afterwards and he just keeps panickedly yelling at me so I won't forget to give him his favourite green slop. When I finally do he wolfs them down like a feral beast and will even GROWL at his brother when he comes to sniff them even though he has never shown interest in stealing them. I'm convinced he isn't even a cat but some kind of goblin the previous owner found under a bridge.

I think the liking sauerkraut thing is something specific to oriental based cats like sphinxes, since our late siamese cat Phoenix also enjoyed sauerkraut.

My Sphynx Gandalf loves oranges and mandarins, which is unusual as most cats hates citrus fruits. When I start to peel them he comes running even deep sleep doesn’t prevent him 😂. He also likes strawberries and mango but oranges are he’s favorites.

Two of mine each have a massive sweet tooth, cats aren't even supposed to be able to taste sweet but I've seen them marshmallows and frosting. Its very good to let your cat sniff the things they have an interest in, like food, because it satiates their curiosity about what the humans are doing :D I learned that from Jun's Kitchen
Cats are very individual and have unique and particular tastes. My cat is a sauce gourmet, he loves red sauces and salad dressing, he just wants different flavors. Hell lick the sides of a bowl I'm eating, politely avoiding the middle (mostly), but my cat is uncommonly polite. He will not eat food I've given him until it's on the floor, but he'll knock it from where I placed it to there first. Those are his rules, not mine.
I feel like your boy liking sauerkraut is similar to how my boy always wants to lick salt and vinegar potato chips.
