- A long overdue chat about the channel, vintage motors and new channel partner Sizzapp.
For the uninitiated, this is a 'waffles' video. Which means it's not the usual fair of music over scenic riding; in the video I'll actually be talking in a more normal motovlog style.

So good to see the person behind the chanel. Definitely one of my favourites. Genuine motorcycle enthusiast. Thank you so much for the inspiration, content and Genuine pleasure of motorbikes 😊
My pleasure William, happy to hear you’re liking the videos.
This video format is also great Mat, with this format my favorite of all is the one you are talking about how you started your motorcycle riding journey, yes, a while ago. But my favorite of all, is "Riding a Triumph Bonneville T120 over Snake Pass", this is the one I sometimes watch it again and again for the message and inspiration it gives when watching it, specially when the tough gets tough while saving to buy my motorcycle! So, thank you Matt, keep creating, keep sharing and keep inspiring, you're doing great!! 👍👍
Thanks Nelio, the Snake Pass video is one of my favourites too, I think the music really helped take that one to another level.
Glad to hear my videos are helping you continue to save for your own bike, I hope you get there soon! 🤞
Also nice to see you shut down and wait for the horse to pass Matt. Most people don’t understand that, but should. Nicely done.
I normally switch off and roll by if I can, you can’t see it in the video but her horse looked fairly agitated by the bike so thought best to stop too. Always surprises me that some folk just thunder by horses with no care.
Keep waffling Matt. Totally agree with your thoughts outside the Oil Can cafe.
Hopefully something will change, I can’t imagine not being able to go on road trips whenever I want.
Man I LOVE your channel! One of my Favorites too! You make me want to ride more and I always drool over your T120. I have a T100 which I love but it doesn't quite have the umph....I feel I need on the highway.... and I think the T120 offers possibly more in safety along with comfort and Power. Thanks for filming your adventures! Cheers!
Thanks Paul, the T120 certainly has enough power for highway work :)
It so cool to ride everywhere you want. Great bike, wonderful nature, brilliant weather and peace. Your videos are very inspired. I hope, when the war will finish, to ride like you.
I hope that for you too 🤞
Not sure how I missed this. Very glad to find it tonight. Very funny, that I was thinking in the first few seconds of the video how I might leave a message saying that I think you chatting on your videos would be an addition. . .and there you go chatting!!! Well played Sir.
Glad you liked my effort at talking on camera. Will try to do a bit more this coming year 👍
Thanks Matt, love the style of your videos and content. Keep up the good work. I just passed my test and bought my first bike. Cheers.
Congratulations on passing your test as and getting your bike!
Having lived in Manchester all my life, I am only just starting to appreciate how wonderful the Peak District is. I have tried a few nights camping near Great Hucklow and I have a favourite cafe at Monyash, popular with bikers. I'll have to try the Carding Shed, it looks just my sort of thing, and a nice ride over the tops. Keep up the videos, ad maybe I'll bump into you one day! (so to speak).
I think it’s easy to overlook the Peak District when you’ve got north wales and the Lake District relatively so close, but there’s some fantastic places to ride through so glad to hear of your newfound appreciation of it.
I’d say definitely give the Carding Shed a look, it’s worth a day out at least.
Brilliant move Matt. Except for not wearing your jacket. ATGATT (All The Gear All The Time) as we say here in the States. Only kidding. Nice to hear you and get to know you a bit better. Well done Mate.
At bicycle speeds I think it’s ok 😁
You passed me Matt last Sunday on the way to Glossop, I was in my 1972 red MGB Roadster, I recognised your number plate, straight away, and you did have your jacket on, it was a great day out the weather was perfect, cheers Martin
A fantastic car for a Sunday drive, I've been close to buying one many times! I don't normally not wear a proper jacket, but since I was doing bicycle speeds and it was baking hot I made an exception for this video.
Yes it was too hot for us that’s why we were in the car not the motorbike, l just don’t feel safe with out all my bike gear on. MGB’s are a very reliable classic with bulletproof mechanics, I’ve had mine sense 1995, and once you’ve got them right they just run and run I love it. If you fancy one make sure you get a good one. I know them inside out if you need any advice. Cheers Martin.⚙️🔩🔧👍
@@martindavies8326 Thanks Martin, should I ever look to get one I'll probably have a few questions for you 🙂
Great video. I enjoy watching your channel.
Thanks Graham, glad to hear it 🙂
I truly wish that content makers like you could at least make enough money to cover their costs. I really look forward to you videos. They’re so well done and the music is incredible. I hope you continue for a long time to come. Thanks Matty Mac and keep your chin up.
Thanks so much, at the very least it forces RUclipsrs who aren’t retired to be a bit more entrepreneurial 😁
Simply classic 👌
I try!
I loved the "muttering" sound of the T120 as you burbled along. We are still awaiting the onset of fall here in Phoenix where today and tomorrow we will probably set two heat records of 44 and 43 degrees C. respectively. You may complain about your summer but it is still better than living through two months of hell! With all my complaining I eagerly await cooler weather to once again get the fluids circulating in the T120 which is life not just a hobby!😎
I’m also hoping for a more normal Autumn, let’s hope Mother Nature gets her act together soon!
Aww I thought that bench was my private spot.
Not any more! 😁
A GPS tracker is essential in the UK. Found out the hard way 3 weeks ago when my vespa got nicked, recovered 3 hrs later thanks to the tracker. Great vid, I do like the waffles. Love the Peak District too, popped up for a few days on my R9T back in June, the only other nice bit of weather we had this summer
I hope your Vespa didn’t get too damaged when they took it, glad you got it back though! Sounds like you lucked out on your visit to the Peaks, even for us the rain’s been a bit excessive.
I’ve recently started exploring the Peak District, I’ll definitely give the cafe a whirl😊 great content as always.
You won’t regret the visit Brian, it’s a great spot.
Sometimes it's just too hot to wear full gear, I get it. I've had days here when it was so hot I didn't go riding because I just couldn't bare the thought of putting a helmet on. But it's cooling off here a bit and riding with the jacket on is pleasurable again. I also ride a T120, lovely machines aren't they? I enjoy your videos. I haven't found a mic that works well with my gopro when riding yet. Still working on that. Like you I don't do it for money either, just for the fun of doing it. Keep up the great work. We appreciate you.
Thanks Greg, I’m also on the search for a decent microphone set up. We don’t often get days that are too hot for riding, so it’s quite nice when they happen. But Autumn is almost here for us so it’ll be time to complain about being wet & cold again soon 😁
@ClassicRides your mic actually sounds pretty good when your riding. Mine gets all crackley above 30 mph. I've got a gopro 9 with a media mod and wireless mic.
@@woodtickgreg6926 the mic is decent enough (Boya BY-M1) and the recorder is very good (Tascam DR 10-L), but for use on a motorcycle they’re both a bit cumbersome. Great for off the bike voice stuff though.
love it
Glad you do 👊
It’s a testament to the Audicator’s British design that I hardly ever hear that sound, the ‘ten flash’ gap after indicating or breaking make it pretty unobtrusive. I honestly think that a system like this or auto cancel indicates should be mandatory.
Thanks again for the entertainment you videos give me.
I don’t fully understand your comment, but ok 👍
@@ClassicRides haha 😂 I intended this comment for another vlog oops. BTW, I agree with your assessment of Sizzapp… great product.
@@grahamedkins 👍
Truly enjoied the video and the waffle 🙂 Please do more waffle videos
I certainly try to add in a few more 🙂
Great new video well done matt
I never ride without protective clothing as have had many scapes when I was younger
But as to comment on your decision in this video (the only way to stay truly safe is to stay in bed )
Keep up the good work
Thanks Ian, I think if you’re just doing bicycle speeds on empty roads then it’s probably ok, normally I always wear a full suit of riding gear though.
Great Video Matt. Really enjoyed it. Keep them coming. Regards Neil. (P.S. I have sold my R1200GS and bought a classic Honda!)
Thanks Neil, that’s quite a change! Will you miss not miss having a big mile muncher in the fleet?
@@ClassicRides possibly, but I want to try having some adventures on a smaller bike at slower speeds taking more time. We will see how it goes.
@@1A2Blueboy the good thing about going slower is it gives pedestrians more time to appreciate how cool you look on your vintage bike 😎
👏👏👏
Thanks Atsuki!
Very enjoyable vlog, I would be very much interested how you started up. I'm for one that is useless with modern technology. I also like your camping vlogs, that is something I would like to do in the future😊
Thanks Ian, I think I’ll definitely be doing a video on making a YT channel, and I very much hope to het a few more camping videos done this year too.
MATT, PUT ON YOUR JACKET!!!!
Do you feel better now? I like how you say "We...", we're watching you AND your BONNIE after all.
Yes, I'd love to see you waffling on about starting a RUclips channel, you're building a great thing, and while I just don't have the patience to do all the filming and editing and just want to go for the ride, I'm always intrigued by the hows and especially the whys.
PS I really liked your ebike review, it had an everyman feel to it that nothing else I've seen could match, so feel free to do another one (or ten), I might even buy one off you 😉)
You’re not the boss of me Alex!
Since I’ve had a veritable tsunami of people (3) saying they’d like a video on YT stuff, I shall make it happen 💪.
I probably won’t do another e-bike review since the offers have stopped coming in, unless someone offers me something stupidly expensive for free 😁
Ah, but I am the customer and the customer is always....
...a total hypocrite who just rode to the local bakery in a Hawaiian shirt.
@@AlexOnABoat sounds like the perfect attire for a bakery run.
I am starting my channel, i would love to see a video on how you got started and things like that.. please do 😅
I certainly will 🙂
Hi Matt, Really enjoy your videos. Your style is very relaxing to watch and they always inspire me to plan some trips on my own T120. Curious to know what tyres you run? Also, what is the open face helmet that you are wearing in this video.
Hi Stephen, glad to hear you’ve been enjoying the videos. The tyres are Avon Spirit ST’s in standard sizes and the helmet is a Hedon Hedonist 🙂
@@ClassicRides Thanks for the reply Matt. I've always found the Bonneville to be a little more squirmy at the rear than other bikes I've owned, so I might try the Avons.
@@StephenSheridanOnlineit’ll feel like a different bike with better tyres, the factory Pirelli’s are horrible in my opinion.
Great!
Thanks 🙏
nice caffe Matt, thanks for the info
If you find yourself giving it a try let me know, I’ll join you for a cuppa 👍
@@ClassicRidesit probably won't happen anytime soon as the weather turned again into crap :(
@@UncleLongbeard soggiest year I can remember 🌧️
Really enjoyed the vid. A bit chatty this time. haha. Yes, I would like to see your take on starting a YT channel. Very well may do the same with my motorcycling , adventures, mountain man and building endeavors. Great looking cafe. Like those kind of places. The days of points and condensers are only fading memories of a few. My Benelli 750 SEI has plenty. From the hills of east Kentucky USA ride safe.
Sounds like you have multiple channels waiting in the wings Sam! I’ll do my best to make a video to help get you going with them.
I would b very interested in how you startedyour youtube channel the highs andtge lows..... thank for tet another great video as always
Thanks Nigel, I’ll definitely be doing a video on that soon 🙂
You must be busy........but try for "clouds hill ", .....and ask to see the ' bike books", ....good luck
A trip down to Dorset is on my list 👌
I would like that. How you started your channel.
I’ll definitely be doing one 🙂
Funny, my Sizz App arrived today.
A worthwhile investment, I feel a bit stupid for having left it so long before getting one.
Hello, Matt. I'm going to attach the GPS tracker to my t120 as well. This is Japan, but theft is constant. The security is very bad.
For some reason I thought Japan wouldn’t be so bad for thievery. Hopefully it never happens to you 🤞
I must say that Triumph should pay you 'cause I've bought my Bonneville T120 because of you.
I wish they would! Happy to have played a small part in your T120 ownership, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do mine 🙂
Seriously correct! I have been to my local Triumph dealership three times in the past month…. ‘Just looking’…..😂. I am in the ‘how do I socialize this with my wife’ phase ….. again!
@@wingandhog nobody hates a Bonneville as it’s the English Gent of the biking world, your wife might even be impressed you bought such an agreeable bike 😁
Video bellissimo inquadrature bellissimi Moto stupenda ovvio seguo i tuoi video mi chiamo Giuseppe sono Italiano e vivo in Germania e ho pure io la TRIUMPH Bonneville T120 Diamond Edition vorrei farla come la tua mi piace molto complimenti mi consigli qualche sito dove comprare gli accessori
Hi Giuseppe, glad to hear you like the videos (and my bike). You can find a lot of the parts at Motone Customs :)

grazie
Careful as they now restrict features and placed limits onto them. If you go over these limits you lose being warned by SMS or Call that you bike being touched. The current version also has bugs as software is giving of phantom counts on your now limited SMS notifications. What was once a really good device has now ended up slowly being restricted in its use, no point adding features to take away better features that were once unlimited. Odd thou as they say most users only use 10-15 SMS a month so why limit them if thats the case ? Sorry but can no longer recommend this product specially as they no longer give support on there product, they even block customers from there own support group its really gone unprofessional from these guys.
Sorry to hear you’ve been having a bad time with them, it hasn’t been my experience at all though. The app seems to work as it should for me and I don’t use SMS notices as the push notifications work just fine.
For my part, if the device & app stop working in a useful way I’ll definitely talk about that in a video.
I would love to see a backstage video Matt 👍
I’ll do my best to make it happen 👍
