Posting some additional solutions from @LpsLucky Kitty in case they help:
- Changing the format of your audio (change to MP3 or anything compatible with Adobe)
- Changing your frame rates per second. (This one mainly helped me a lot!) Like play with the frame per rate till your audio is at the normal speed it should be. Like, put it at 25 frames per second in both the composition settings and preference settings and kind of just try the different frame rates till your audio gets to its not speed.
- Change the quality of the preview to the quarter or high setting.
- Plugin your charger. This might sound odd but Adobe needs a lot of power to boot up and work so connecting your charger to your laptop can really help.

Getting a lot of comments about asking how to fix .mp3 files with the same issue. I've never encountered this problem myself, but I would think converting the file to a .wav might help?

I can't believe it worked. I was legit getting ready to put a sledgehammer to my computer's face. I was up from 1 am to 4 am, despite the fact that I have school at 7:50 am, trying to fix the fucking audio. This is actually the first video that hs ever worked for me. You are a life saver.

it won't work. here it worked because she just convert the video which also reduced the video resolution .. all this auido thing depends on ur ram that's all

ive been trying everything for months and nothing is working, ive tried this, clearing my cache, converting it to different files, changing stuff under preview, and more. nothing is really working and i want to keep using after effects but nothing will work. its not the audio itself its after effects. please i need help with this
Hi! I think maybe I can help? Here’s a couple of solutions that helped me :
Changing the format of your audio (change to MP3 or anything compatiable with Adobe)

Could also be the frame interpolation of the clip vs. the frame rate of the playback (under the preview tab)!

Just Lower your fps of the composition so your pc can process the frames simultaneously as the video plays! and then re-raise it to whatever you want it to be before rendering :)).

i didnt think it would work but it surprisingly worked tysm!
sometimes you can right click your audio clip and go to effects and there might be "Tone" effect there. you just have to delete that effect. I hope it help somehow 🤷♀🤷♀
How do you delete it?
@@deffonotjamie you just have to click the effect that you wanna delete and press the delete button from your keyboard (that work for me at least)

If this doesn’t work you just have to match your compositions frame rate to the video/audio you are using, vice versa.
