I enjoy and use the majority of the things that you so happily teach me. Thanks. Keep them coming.
You’re still one of the only sources of helpful Garbage Band information on RUclips. ❤ Thx.
Excellent quick and yet thorough video Patrick. My video on this will likely be "go watch Patrick". No... seriously. It might be 30 seconds.
I wish an update came with a major fix to the orchestral sounds, particularly the strings, which don't sound quite well. I do celebrate, though, that the bugs related to switching drummers and the stuck notes have been solved! 🙂 Thank you for the video! As always, super informative!
Sadly, I've only experienced problems with the update and see no improvement to features I used frequently.
The context menu has been reordered, so years of muscle memory means I repeatedly hit delete when I want to edit a track.
The undo button appears to have been removed from the piano roll for drums.
And the app now crashes if I try to load songs where I used the Sensual Sax plugin on more than one track.
That last one is particularly galling as I'd been working on a cover version of Duran Duran's Rio and id worked particularly hard on the sax solo. Now I can't even access the song at all without removing Sensual Sax. I have the same issue for a couple more songs that use au plugins, but I forget which right now.
@@paulychilds Agh, that sucks. I loved Sensual Sax back in the day, but with there having been 6 years since the app was last updated, I’m not surprised it doesn’t work with many DAWs anymore.
Thanks 🚀
Thanks for the video . I wonder if that new update for zip files will also work in Logic Pro for iPad?
There is a problem with my GarageBand, when I pass an audio to the sampler, it doesn't import the audio to the sampler and the sound of the sampler remains the same. How do I fix it?
Some issues not mentioned/addressed in the release are crashes when adjusting velocities within sequencer view and improper recording start time when recording from the drum sequencer in 3/4 or 6/8 time.
IOS really needs a way to export stem files.
I really hope an online version just like BandLab I'm a windows and android user, but a could provee the garageband on iPad and it was really useful 😢
I’m still running iOS 17.4.1 and I’m still skeptical about updating to iOS 18. Did they ever fix the issue that prevents you from pinching/zooming in while using the Magic Trackpad?
i literally haven’t used garageband in weeks because no sound comes out of it at all
@@debbeno really? How come?
I’m scared to use the sampler because every time I used it in a project, it would crash GarageBand when I tried to open the project again later. Have you ever experienced that?
Definitely not something i've had happen before. iPhone or iPad?
New update (or ios18) seems to introduce sampler bug.. I can no longer drag audio from tracks view into the sampler.. dragging an audio clip into sampler track would load that clip as a new sampler patch.. it now launches sampler but in bark preset or last loaded patch.
iPad. It was before iOS 18 and I think I’d always also dragged audio onto a sampler track. Maybe they removed it on purpose? It never seemed stable.
I reported it to apple and they could recreate it.. I don’t think it was removed because the ‘audio will be imported into sampler’ text still pops up but doesn’t work. Surprisingly, you can do this on ios17 device then open it on my iOS18 device and the custom sampler patch will be playable at least
I was making music last night and the app was going a little crazy.
Crazy how?
@@TheGaragebandGuide he had to put her down. Emergency brain surgery
@@baplotnik ...what?
@@TheGaragebandGuide because she was CRAZY... the app lol
@@TheGaragebandGuide link does not work, but it's there if you wanna see something literally crazy
what i dont like about this update is that they reordered the context menu options and that midi sequences (idk what to call them) now have thinner notes, and a bug i experience a lot is when i disconnect my bluetooth headphones after using garageband with them, it stops outputting audio and sometimes gives me an error saying "Core Audio is not available."
i noticed that. i js thought i was losing my marbles
This is more like a bug fix, But if they happen to read this, Can we get a drag and drop wave files for the sequencer.
The big problem for me with GarageBand for iOS is that it disables the earphones when you record using the inbuilt microphone. So I can’t hear what I am inputting via the inbuilt mic as I record it. Nor can I hear the tracks already recorded to play along with them. Unplug the earphones, and every new track is muddied by the sounds of the other tracks playing through the iPad’s speakers as you record. Googling the issue simply gave me access to lots of similarly frustrated musicians with the same problem. The only work around I could find involved a Steinberg DAW, a studio mike and meters of cables and adaptors, so recording outside my newly bulky home setup became out of the question. Is there a better work around? Any news on whether Apple might fix this limitation, as it effectively disables iPad GarageBand recording for any acoustic artists.
this update made my latency with my crusher evos on the app worse..
Did you ever figure out what I was referring to in the comment section of your previous video?
@@coconut_lasagna2264 I tried it but it didn’t change any of the controls for me. Weird.
@@TheGaragebandGuide alright I’ll keep trying as well. Hopefully you find something
Some of the updates are a lil annoying; like the constant start and stopping
Ok great
I’m massively pissed off with the new update. All my tracks now need re mixing because even though the processing is the same, the volumes are all over the place. Useless
Sampler doesn’t always work now. Tracks aren’t playing, it’s so slow too
These upgrades do nothing to address major flaws with GB
Such as?
@@TheGaragebandGuideI was wondering the same and here we are seven days later this YT person still hasn’t listed any of the major flaws they claim.
