    Malaysia shoes store in general, the sales personnel has no clue at all about the different types of shoes. They are looking to sell shoes for commission. I don't blame them. I just wish they are more educated in terms of what they are selling instead of pushing a shoe to you that does not suit you at all.
    Thank you for the awesome video Seth! Learnt so much today.

      Agree. I know more than them. They don't get the right training. I get my info by watching shoe reviews on RUclips

      Until now , you still had to do your own research before planning to buy your next running shoe before visiting the shop. Staff from the local store (SD , alikhsan even nike store) is not helping much when you asked them.

    Vamp, new term for me. That’s where my current brand of running shoe usually start showing wear first.

    Very informative and detailled, especially for those thinking about their first pair of running shoes. Or even for a bit more experienced runners, always a good reminder.

    I got a cheap pair of beacons and ended up replacing the insoles with an old pair of shoes’ insoles. Such a better shoe now.

    Yup like everyone else Vamp is a new one for me.
    A couple of notes -
    I do not believe the SpeedCross has a rock plate as it is meant for softer or muddy trails while some of the other Solomon’s do.
    overlays don’t have to be plastic or rubber they can also be types of different fabrics and can be welded into the upper of the shoe but that’s kind of nit picky I know.

    Great over view, good info. Only term I was not familiar with was vamp. ). Of course I have been buying running shoes for almost 40 years, so I guess I have absorbed some information. One question I run in Mizunnos Wave Knit R2. How would you classify the Wave plate in that shoe?

    Vamp! Never heard about this! Super video. :-)
    Hey Seth, looking at the Pegasus 35 turbo as next road shoe, but given current injury, wondering if 10mm drop might be too high. Any ideas on a similar ride and feel but less of a drop?
    PS: Just bought a dazer (little flash light with a high pitch ultrasound button) so I don't have to outrun the dogs each time. So excited about this as dogs are running after me every other run now. Seems like the most humane approach to avoiding dog bites.

    Hello Seth, I am looking for a shoe to use for fast, short to mid-distance runs. Do you have any suggestions that are under $100?

  • @StephaneMichel-Montréal

    Thanks Seth, nice reminders. The shoe companies are bombarding us with so much marketing terms that you could do a 2h video on the midsoles only. Never heard of the word "vamp" before while it is probably the area of a shoe that wear off first for me. Have you ever had any problem removing and putting back insoles? e.g. In the Skechers GoRunRIde7, sold as a "two shoes in one" where removing the insole is supposed to give you a more responsive shoe, the minute the insole was put back in, it started to feel uncomfortable...and squeaky..

    Great overview and detail. Could totally do a series focusing on each major area, with even more detail (stack height, drop, mesh, knit, etc)

    Imagine using all of the information Seth just taught all of us in a typical shoe store. They would be so lost. Probably hire you on the spot.

    Hey Seth any advice for black and broken toe nails ?

    • @QronoZ713
      @QronoZ713 5 лет назад +4

      Try a larger size of shoes, and tie your shoes to your ankle harder, with the runners knot.

    • @madsholmstrup4317
      @madsholmstrup4317 5 лет назад +5

      Nail polish👌 then all your toe nails are Black

    • @madsholmstrup4317
      @madsholmstrup4317 5 лет назад +2

      But to be real i deal with this a lot! I advise to cut your nails ekstra short

    • @primenuno10
      @primenuno10 5 лет назад +1

      Bigger shoe size should reduce that. Usually a full size bigger than your actually foot size for running.

    You are so full of energy and life. 😃You should make give aways of these, packing some of your energy and life and share them with the ones who lack (sometimes) getting out of the comfort zone and do trail runs. ⛰🏃‍♂🌄
