Yup, that's my hubby! Just 6 years into our relationship and I became paralyzed from chest down and my left hand is practically useless. 6 years now he's been taking care of me, refusing to put me in a nursing home. You have to start out as friends in order to get to know each other first. Some of my friends talk to me about being friend zoned and they become bitter and angry. Being friends isn't the end of the world. You never know what the future holds. Being friends keeps the door open for feelings to grow. Some relationships take years to cultivate and each one starts with being friends. Being friends doesn't tie you down. You still have the freedoms to be who you are and keep an open mind on meeting other people gaining new friends along the way. I personally would have more faith in a relationship that grew then a love at first sight. It can be real disappointing to wake up six months into something and find out you can't even bare to stand the person you've been waking up next to. Just remember, you have to love you before you can expect someone else to love you or be interested in you. I can't tell you how much time it could take to get out of the friend zone. Not Bragging but when I ws in relationship with my ex, I had all the mentioned qualities except the quality number 10. But my girlfriend was always selfish and she barely made me feel loved and used to argue a lot over little things. I doubt that she used to respect me. After 6 months we stopped talking. She never appreciated the relationship I think. I missed her a lot for around 3 months. Now I'm reluctant to get in a relationship. All most 60% of todays marraiges end up in divorce in the first 5 yrs. Al most 80% of divorces are iniciated by women. An entire generation of single parents. Before you hate I am a single dad of a 12 yrd old girl. Her mom left us for another man and then came back 5 months after. She ruined everybody's life. Including hers. There will be a time when good men are valued but that is not today.

@F K The concept of soul mates doesn't exist. If it existed, the divorce rates wouldn't be high in the first place. In a relationship other than love, you need Commitment, communication and trust. If these 3 qualities are not met, then no relationship will last. Some work, others not. Its funny how many people believe in the concept of soul mates, and then they end up alone and depressed.

I had such a man but i destroyed everything because of a mental illness and it was too much too handle for him😅 i know he loves me and we have a great bond anyway but of course he is scared that this would break his heart again. I'm sure one day he will give me a chance again. Wish me luck. :)
