I love how nonchalant Jerrod and Andrew's characters are in this sketch and how quickly Andrew's says he will go get the body and just jumps off of the cliff without a second thought.
As a lifelong SNL fan, I have to say that the writers and cast have absolutely been KILLING it these past few years! They've almost gone back to basics and adopted Monty Python's principal of "that's silly"...and it's totally working.
My dad passed yesterday and we called him Pop Pop! I totally believe he had something to do with this airing last night!! He knew I love SNL🖤 Sorry about your Dad.
Amy & Beth, I am so very sorry for the loss of both your dads. I hope that you’ll be able to find peace & comfort in the pleasant memories you have with him. I’m glad you were able to laugh with this sketch & find the humor in it. I wish the best to both of you & your loved ones. RIP to your dads🕊🕊.
Dark Humor is the best humor. It puts laughter in the darkest parts of our reality. I lost 5 family members including my grandfather, grandmother, great aunt, father, and mother in a span of 5 years. Very dark time. Dark humor made me laugh cause it put humor to a aspect of my life that was very real.
This was my favorite sketch in the episode. I think it could have used a better ending, but I love the idea and the performances. Andrew Dismukes always comes up with weird things and plays them to the hilt.
Yah Andrew was IN the world of this sketch, he and Jerrod had fantastic chemistry actually! I KNOW Dismukes could KILL IT in a film if given the right role!
Oh man when they tossed his body over the cliff I lost it, wish it could’ve ended on a funnier and less abrupt note but that was a great sketch otherwise
@@Southernblonde1310 Versatile means "able to adapt or be adapted to many different functions or activities." I think what you're meaning to say is that he can play a variety of different roles, and versatile is the more accurate term for that.
That was a better "scattering of the remains" than I was thinking. I thought they were going to "scatter" dismembered body parts in front of the family. Kudos for keeping it classier than my thoughts.
They could have done that (SNL does do morbid humor like this from time to time) and I want to believe they planned it like that, but either the censors said no or they figured it'd be too gross, so they opted for the actual body in one piece getting chucked over the edge.
Hey, this was a genuinely good sketch. I love the dark humour of how casual the two mortuary guys are, combined with a layer of absurdity to their behaviour.
I love how nonchalant Andrew and Jerrod's characters are about what they did and how Andrew offers to get the body back and jumps off the cliff with a second thought.
They got me good with this one. Sipping my coffee as the raise the body, then off the cliff, and it took everything in me to not spray coffee all over the place. Great skit.
They hired a lot of new writers this season and got a new director (who co-directed the Paul Rudd Christmas episode that was downgraded to a clip show episode due to rising COVID cases at the time, and solo directed the first episode of 2022 hosted by Ariana DeBose).
Ahhh. The wonders of live television. The sound of an aluminum ladder being dragged across a concrete floor during the beginning of a skit was just perfect.
"We are NOT going to pay for this"!!! "May I ask why"? "Because you threw my father in law off of a cliff"!!!! Absolutely hilarious and horrifying all at the same time.
"You got the body aspect of a burial, but we still got to throw him." said with a straight face :)
And they tried to give them a bill like some cheesy chain restaurant
“Oh speak on that!” 🤣🤣🤣
Delivered sooo genuinely 👍 he really wants them to know they're at least going home with the throwing aspect 😂
"And that's a dealbreaker for you?" That cracked me up well.
Dork
"That's clearly a young cyclists! He's wearing those little shoes" 😄
I love how nonchalant Jerrod and Andrew's characters are in this sketch and how quickly Andrew's says he will go get the body and just jumps off of the cliff without a second thought.
Just all business
"So what you guys got cookin up this weekend?" I lost it. 😂😂😂
Fell out 💀
The casual stretch before that got me.
You know that was just so as a matter of factish. Too, too funny 🤣🤣🤣
This felt like an old-school SNL skit. Very funny deadpan acting. One of the best skits. Great week!
I definitely felt that energy. Great skit!

no
@@mikejohnson3338 What kind of moron responsds simply with "no"?
these are the Kinda absurd Sketches recent SNL has been missing. Legend shit
idk what you mean, snl has been so absurd and random recently
More along the lines of stupid shit. Nothing legendary about this skit.
EXACTLY! more of this kinda humor please.
I hope they realize that “absurdist comedy” is more popular than ever and I wish they would just fully commit to more oddball sketches like this!
@@Dolan.Lovendahl_Presents that's what I mean! Zoomer and meme humor IS absurdism

Andrew and Jerrod need to work together more, they're a perfect chaotic pair.

Really? It was so stupid… I can’t believe I wasted my life on this skit
You gotta be fcking kidding me. Favorite? You must be that person @ 1:10 laughing in the background.
this was meaningless
I mean...was there an ending? 🤣 They've definitely done this many times before, almost an "anti-ending"
Oh man when they tossed his body over the cliff I lost it, wish it could’ve ended on a funnier and less abrupt note but that was a great sketch otherwise
"We still got to throw him" cracked me up
It could've ended right there for me. >
Andrew Dismukes has proven to be a very diverse character actor in these sketches. I can't wait to see more of him.
You mean versatile not diverse lmao
@@calebk9111 says you. he can change any part of himself to meet diversity quotas.

I know what you meant but IMO it would’ve made more sense to say versatile, it’s no biggie tho we know what you said is what you said :)
the thurnmos joke was so good, I wish the audience reacted more to it.
Thurnmos bahahaha
Thermos
No... thURNmos
Sadly I need an explanation
Laughter is reflexive. You can't blame the audience for not laughing more.

Everyone killed it, loved this sketch!
Except for the cameraman who framed the shot incorrectly at the beginning and showed beyond the edge of the set.

Jerrod is looking like he’s ready to play Eddie Murphy’s sidekick in a film in the 1980s
Lol or an 80s police chief.

Love this premise 😂😂😂 hard to go wrong with it
These guys took it to another level of goofy humor I love it!!
Andrew is quickly becoming one of my favorites in the sketches that he's in
I love when Andrew Dismukes does his sincere face and voice, cuz you know some bullshit is about to happen 😂😂
The “mmm”s killed me! Brooo 😂💀⚰️
That urn thermos reminded me of the mortician at my grandmother’s funeral. He wore a tie clip in the shape of a spade. 😲
Best line - "So what you guys got cooking up this weekend?"
I love how nonchalant Andrew and Jerrod's characters are about what they did and how Andrew offers to get the body back and jumps off the cliff with a second thought.
This was such a funny idea and I love how they executed it
feels like this and some other sketches this season were directly “inspired” by former writer Tim Robinson’s show “I Think You Should Leave”
“What the HELL did you just do?!?” ….. “We said goodbye to Pop-Pop” 🤣
Why did I immediately laugh when they picked the body up. 😭 😂🤣🤣🤣😂😂 This was so unexpected.
"i feel like you guys are mad, so how about i just go get him?" is such an innocent sentence
Nearly every sketch this week has been a banger. Loving it.
Is it wrong that I actually want these guys to handle my funeral?
lmao
Hell, it would be an honor. Toss me off a cliff and let the ocean take me away.
I wouldn't want these people within 20 miles of my mom's funeral.
@@robertamcguffin3446 oh how someone can't enjoy a joke 😣😂
Probably cheaper than fucking cremation.
The lines "What the hell! Did you just DO!!!"
We said goodbye to Pop Pop sent me.
“Oh, speak on that” 😭 1:50
😂 I'm freakin dyin over here!!!!! It's been a while since I've laughed that hard at a skit!!!!!
My grandmas funeral was last week so this is weirdly comforting
Something about humor always seems to help during those times. Sorry for your loss.
My condolences my mother was last week also
offbeat and dark... i like it. anyone else thinking the scattering of donny's ashes in the big lebowski? one of the funniest scenes ever.
This was all too funny, but I ~died~ laughing at the thURNmos joke!!
Man when they threw the body over and you could hear every thud and then the splash..I lost it 😭😂
Omg this is literally one of the best sketches in so long😂😂😂
Not by a long shot.
😂😂😂 Oh my GOD, from the moment they chucked the body, this skit took off.
That thermos is a "Leave Me Alurn"
2:48 “so what you guys got cooking up this weekend?”
Tell me why my brain without hesitation snapped to saying “clearly not their pop pop”
Never have I wanted the camera to pan to the audience more. And some say she's still laughing til this very day.
James Austin Johnson sold that surprise nicely
Didn’t see the joke at all with scattering his remains coming. So nutty and hilarious 😂😂😂
They got me good with this one. Sipping my coffee as the raise the body, then off the cliff, and it took everything in me to not spray coffee all over the place. Great skit.
One of the funniest sketches I've seen on snl in a very long time
“The Thurnmos?” deserved more laughs
This season's writing is some of the best! Whomever you hired- great job!
They hired a lot of new writers this season and got a new director (who co-directed the Paul Rudd Christmas episode that was downgraded to a clip show episode due to rising COVID cases at the time, and solo directed the first episode of 2022 hosted by Ariana DeBose).
OMG I’m dying 😂😂😂
I thought it was gonna be the throwing the ashes and it blows back joke that’s been done, but this one got me bad well done LMAO
When they reached behind that rock and grabbed that body and dumped him over the cliff I lost it! 😆😅😅😄😄😄😆😅😅
I'd recognize that opening shot anywhere! That is Southwest Head on Grand Manan Island, New Brunswick.
It’s like a Monty Python sketch. FUNNIEST thing I’ve seen on SNL so far this season……
It’s awesome like a combo of the two😂😂
"So whatchu guys got cookin up this weekend?"
@1:10 Heidi's reaction says it all! 🤣😂😁
“That was not relayed to us” 😂
“We said goodbye to Pop-Pop.” And I screamed.
This was pretty much my experience with a local mortuary when my mother died. Clearly the lady was playing a last joke on me 😂 damn it Marge!
Shrimp bisque? Don’t get me hungry on a Saturday night, after a big meal. Lol
You Yadda Yadda Yadda them throwing a whole corpse over the cliff?
Good to know the writers have been watching It's Always Sunny.
I love how Mikey and Jerrod's characters are so nonchalant about what they did.
that's andrew!
Who's Mikey?
“Ooh, the thURNmos?” 😂😂
i know this isn't a tim robinson sketch but it has major tim robinson vibes lmao this feels like the younger brother sketch of the coffin flop sketch
this was the funniest one I saw all night, I had tears in my eyes from laughing so hard.
Ahhh. The wonders of live television. The sound of an aluminum ladder being dragged across a concrete floor during the beginning of a skit was just perfect.
It added to the ocean noises, so we'll never know if it was a mistake or intentional.
Best SNL I've seen in a while....great writing.... 🤣 🤣 🤣
“Mmm” “mmmm” “mmmmhmmm” 🤣
Pap Pap would appreciate of this. He loved telling fun stories.
"We are NOT going to pay for this"!!! "May I ask why"? "Because you threw my father in law off of a cliff"!!!! Absolutely hilarious and horrifying all at the same time.
"See, I thought we resolved that...."
It kinda has the feel of SNL meets Monty Python you gotta love it. No deal breaker here 😂🤣
pause at 1:14 for a beautiful painting
This former Funeral Director laughed WAY TOO hard at this.
'Speak on that' - Whaddup, whaddup!!!
As someone who just recently lost their dad. This was too funny. Gotta love dark humor 😂
Jerrod Carmichael had real Richard T Splett energy in this and I loved it.
Had me at first, lost me in the middle, "can I get some of that soup?" Killed me!
This was good - a skit that finally felt like it deserves to have its airtime
This is perfectly silly, I love it
The delivery at 0:26 was so funny oh my god
Couldn't stick the landing from a hilarious setup. Damn.
Funniest part for me? “Shrimp bisque.”
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Absolutely hilarious !
hilarious! please give this writer more! this is what has been missing from SNL! do better! do more like this!
Loved this sketch lol
I love how SNL isn’t afraid to go dark this season 😅😈
Holy shit this was hysterical.
Haha omg 😲 ... that is so crazy ... we said goodbye to papa 😂
This sketch is really reminiscent of the Kids in the Hall.
Not Monty Python? Specifically “Undertaker Sketch”.
Definitely one of my memorable skits 2022 SNL season!
Andrew has been doing real great ever since he started!
Went from 0 to 100 real quick 😂🤣
“Oh, speak on that” 😂
How did I miss this!!!??? This is f****** hilarious!!! This is the kind of humor I needed.
They tossed TF out of Pop Pop 🤣
The foley needed a bit more, two splashes and some rock thuds were missing. Other than that this was a fantastic sketch
This season is so good. Every sketch kills it, even without Steve Martin
They just had Steve Martin on a recent episode.
"Pretty goo.....pretty good right" haha he knew he messed up
Oh my gosh. The simplicity of it. Brilliant!
Love the way he goes "aw h*ll yeah!" at the end lmao
