- We are using a Dorman 14073 repair bushing in this Cadillac Escalade. It was not suppose to work but it did. This bushing is suppose to be for the Chevy trucks and it worked fine in this Cadillac.
This video was made as a demonstration on how to repair things and should not be done with out the proper training and safety equipment. Please if you don't have the ability to do these demonstrations, don't try and get a professional to do it for you.
This will work on a 2007 Chevy Express Van also I just did one.
I have an 09 Yukon xl. I believe it will
Work. Just wondering if you had any more issues from the new bushing and clip?
@@4bladesofglory Its working fine so far.
Think this will work on 07 Chevy Colorado?
@@quagmire6343 I do not know but maybe.
This video helped me. I was able to fix my truck in about 30 minutes! This video was very descriptive and easy to follow. Thank you for your post!
Thank you. 2007 Cadillac Escalade EXT, I didn't have to drill. I'm ordering another part and keeping it in the truck. You saved me $$$$
Just did it on a 05 yukon denali and it worked! Thanks man! Dealership was trying to sell me the whole cable for $99, this did the job for $15 in less than 5 minutes!
2007 Cadillac Escalade EXT and didn't even need to drill. Thanks!!! Worked perfectly.
Maaannnn Thanks for this video! Cable came off and I was an hour away from home. Managed to get the truck home and was about to buy a new cable tell I came across this video. It was a simple and easy fix and saved me money. Thanks Again 🙏🏽
Thanks for watching
Tank you so much! Sir you just save me a lot of time and money, after watching many tutorials, this is the good one. Problem fixed!
Awesome video!! Thank you for this super fast and easy fix. It took me longer to get my tools out than the actual repair. Thanks again👍🏻👍🏻😃
I have a 2007 suburban, this worked for me quick and easy done in 5 min or less
2008 Cadillac Escalade. No drilling required, picked a bushing up from the local store and spent around a half hour prying it in. Looks slightly jerry rigged 😅, but works just fine. Thanks!!
I hope you read this. For the life of me I couldn't fix this. until i saw your video. first the repair part THAT WORKED wasn't listed for my 2008 suburban. it was the very same bushing you're using. THE MOST IMPORTANT PART THAT EVERY VIDEO I WATCHED LEFT OUT
YOU NEED TO DRILL THE CENTER EYELET OUT WITH A 3/8 DRILL BIT. after doing this and im not exaggerating in the least.... it took less than 5 minutes to repair. THANK YOU SO MUCH
First, thanks for the video it is very helpful. Second, I used this kit on my 2008 Cadillac Escalade EXT and it worked but I didn't have to use the drill just removed the old pieces of the old bushing and the dorman 14073 fit. Let see how long it last.
Amazing video. Lot's of help.
Holy crap. Thank you so much for this. $18 fix. Was quoted at 4 to 500 to fix by stealership. Screw them.
They want to replace the whole cable witch is a pain to do. This is much easier and usually the only thing that goes wrong with the cable. Thanks for watching
Thanks for the part number, my bushing broke and I didn’t know what was the size or part number thanks for this
Thanks used your info for the correct drill bit size - used the same kit for a 2007 Silverado classic 4L60 it works perfect!
Thank you so much for the this video
Thank you! It was perfect.
Thanks bro! You just validate what I was thinking
When the video is on full screen mode, use the two finger pinch/spread zoom feature, its helpful for a close up view while watching videos
Nice video mine just broke as well for the second time in 2 years
Perfect work!
im almost 100 percent certain
if your cable has the green retainer in the eyelet... no matter what year you have ... THIS WILL WORK AFTER DRILLING OUT THE CENTER WITH A 3/8 BIT
worked just fine on my 2008 suburban
Thanks for the video, just had the same issue.
Thank you I have a 2500 Silverado it work God Bless
great thx
I have a 2007 Yukon XL, and even though the auto parts stores tell me this part won't work on my car, I'm pretty sure it will. I purchased the one they told me was the one I needed and it did not fit
👍👍👍👍👍👍 great vid
ty just did it on my 2006 1500
Great video. Thumbs up, but I haven't found the right bushing yet for my Dodge Avenger. The 2 packets I was sold didn't have bushings that fit worth-a-damn...
Unfortunately, due to time constraints, I had to cottle & tie up a wire onto it.
I have seen many done like that. Thanks for watching
I’m going to try this on my 2004 Chevy Tahoe tomorrow. Wish me luck 🤞
You should have no problem doing it. Just be sure that the shifter lever is not rusted out. If it is you can get one online. Good luck and thanks for watching
Thank you!!! Worked perfectly. That 3/8 drill bit was the perfect size for the part #14073. You saved me time and $. I’m glad I found your video. Aloha 🤙🏼
Hi,
I have a question,
After doing the same the shifting is working fine, but the shifting stick doesn't go to M.
Is this related to the same issue?
It could be. You need someone to shift it while someone looks at the linage. Make sure you have the wheels chocked and parking brake on and foot on brake.
Works for 2007 silverado 1500 (NBS)
Good
Mines is stuck in reverse will I be able to fix it like that
yes. If not shift it into a different gear
My husbands 2008 Cadillac Escalade esv got stuck on reverse. The shifter is loose and theres no resistance to it..
Yep cable probably fell off.
Hi,nice video. Wondering if I can just remove old bushing, instead of using the drill.
No you can not. The new bushing it bigger that the old one. Thanks for watching
The dorman "oefix" doesn't fit the oem design. The green one gets sold somewhere but I have the dorman part like this video.
The Cadillac bushing probably would have cost more $$
No bushing available from dealer only the whole cable.
For what year cadillac would it work for
@@z28black84 This one is a 2005 but I would say any year that is this body style 2002-2006
@@TheGAutomotiveAndMore i bet 07 would work too i have the same problem
Got a 2011 silverado. This is not the part for it. From all I find it says the Dorman 14104. The 14104 does not fit. I am so lost on this. Baling wire it is for now...lol.
Try the 14073 maybe it will work.
Maybe the 14055 will work.
Wonder if this will work on 04 suburban?
I think it will. Thanks for watching
