      Absolutely! I want to see more Ford chassis as this gives additional options and price points. We have a Winnebago Fuse that we purchased last October and so far we love it. It is the i5 Power Stroke diesel though and I think the EcoBoost might even be a better option. Keep up the good work as our next RV will be an upgrade and we love seeing what's new. If we didn't need a second sleeping area, we would already likely purchased a LTV.

    Just got back from Hershey and if you missed it, yes pleasure way is going to sell this as the “ontour” 2.0 and 2.2. It is very very nice. They had prototypes at Hershey and we spent about 30 min in the 2.0. Reps said there will be no options - transit 2500 3.5L eco boost, 100Ah lithium 200W solar standard, gas generator,induction cooktop, compressor fridge, truma aqua go and shurflo.The 2.0 has no sink in bath, 2.2 does (which I like - seems redundant given big kitchen sink 1 step away). Said if order today will be feb delivery.

    • @novembers
      @novembers 5 лет назад

      Dan, did the 2.0 have a compressor fridge? I saw a review from Hershey and it looked like the 2.2 had the compressor, not the 2.0. Can you confirm?

    • @dham340
      @dham340 5 лет назад

      November S I have the handout (addendum to the pleasure way brochure) and it says compressor fridge. Now, the one there was a prototype - for eg the dump tubes were installed but the little “hatch” on the running board was not there - so I can’t remember if it was an actual compressor fridge in the unit itself. I think so. I am remembering only 2 buttons on it. But, we looked at many units. The 2.0 was the last one so I think I am recalling this correctly.

    I think you said it's built on the 350 platform as it appears to have the one ton front spindles and duel wheels/tires on the rear. Overall it looks pretty good. Just a few observation's, The TV in the coach looks like it has a Bose Sound bar at the bottom, nice feature!!! The heating system is ducted but the AC is just standard ceiling mount, ( not ducted ). You didn't say anything about the wood paneling in the wet bath, that is if it is wood or some other waterproof material. The awning appears to stick out in the air at the front of the coach which don't care for as it will collect road dirt and bugs not to mention aero drag on the coach. The interior of the cabinet, that you highlighted, had a pretty good gap on its right side at the bottom and L type brackets that are protruding into the interior of the cabinet. You pointed out the wiring harnesses grommet used to protect the wiring as it passes through the wall and how nice it is to have that installed but over looked the wiring hanging down at the rear of the cabinet. This particular coach might have been a preproduction or an R&D unit however. I wouldn't expect to see the issues I pointed out on a production unit for sale to the consumer no matter the price point.

    • @Ultramobility
      @Ultramobility  5 лет назад

      interesting i'll go back and review. i didn't notice any quality issues when i was inside it but i may have missed some. the wiring at the rear of the cabinet was tidy and simply electronic devices plugged in and not wiring harnesses for the electrical system. the paneling is waterproof but the shower curtain is designed to be drawn around critical areas.

    • @richardjones990
      @richardjones990 5 лет назад

      @@Ultramobility The wiring harness is on the left side of the cabinet, which looks very good but the other electrical items are attached to the rear wall. I don't think it would take to much effort to install those items somewhere that would not be seen or intrude in a clothing storage area. The same thing with the gap at the bottom right side of the other cabinet you featured. I feel that good quality cabinet construction should have zero gaps or L brackets that are installed inside of the storage area where it could catch on clothing or other items. These issues are in an area's where the consumer can see and as such, should be of the highest finish and build quality. Thank you very much for the review of this Pleasure-Way coach.

    I've always liked this particular design, with the exception of the bathroom. I'd like to see a true wet bath in this model--maybe a composting toilet, take out the sink entirely, and remove all of the wood trim (which has always seemed like a problem waiting to happen in a damp enclosed space). It would make for a huge bathroom in a class B.

    • @thoughtsinpassing2968
      @thoughtsinpassing2968 5 лет назад

      To keep it at approx. 20' in length which is the average parking space across America, it is hard to get 10 pounds of goodies out of a 5 pound bag.

    • @NepentheBlue
      @NepentheBlue 5 лет назад

      @@thoughtsinpassing2968 I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean such a bathroom design (as I suggested) would be too heavy with the composting toilet?

    • @thoughtsinpassing2968
      @thoughtsinpassing2968 5 лет назад

      @@NepentheBlue Many people object to using the kitchen sink where food is prepared as/or like a bath room sink. Manufacturers have ways of knowing who buy their product and why, and pay attention to the changes in the owner's wants and needs. There are Class B owners who have removed the reg. toilet and combined the black and grey water tanks and utilized a composting toilet. But again, since having no sink in the bathroom and a composting toilet is not a majority of the market's desire, manufacturers haven't opted to do that on a assembly line production. However, custom built van builders will do whatever your budget allows. The over all weight remains basically the same with whatever is accumulated in the combined tanks. The combined tanks allow longer boondocking, but then again, not everyone who buys the Class B are long term boon dockers. There are manufacturers of Class B+ that offer more of what you desire, but then they are large enough to contain a true wet bath, room for your bike inside, and storage under the bed. Not every vehicle is for everyone, if all were the same, a lot of people would not buy anything.

    Hello Neil. Phil from Pleasure way gave us a nice tour of the OnTour 2.0 and 2.2 at the Hershey RV Show. We were going to test drive both the OnTour 2.0 and 2.2 at FRETZ RV in PA on 9/23/2019, but then Rick Hand from FRETZ called to say that both OnTours are going to a show in CA. Will you be there? Can't wait to see your video on the Pleasure Way OnTour. I have learned so much from your channel. Thank you so much. Ford is coming out with AWD option in November 2019. I spoke with Doug at Pleasure way on 9/18/2019. He said Pleasure Way does not know yet if there will be AWD option on the OnTour. They have not seen the van and the layout. Doug said that most of RV owners store their RV in the Winter or go to warmer climates. Do you think there will much interest on the AWD OnTour or are there much interest on AWD class b RVs in general? We would be interested because we have snow in CT. What are your thoughts? I’m excited about this too because I feel that mfrs. like PleasureWay and Leisure Travel need to employ more gasoline version Class B, B+ RV Vans. I also like the Ford for at least these main reasons. Their interior height can be the tallest available compared to others (Mercedes and Promaster) and that they have the optional EcoBoost engine for ultimate power especially at higher elevations (better than naturally aspirated) and that the engine is common enough to be repaired at a Ford dealership (lots of them most everywhere) and likely far less repair $$ compared to Mercedes.

    Thanks, Neil, excellent pre-review! As anticipated there is a new Pleasure-Way built on the Transit chassis. I guess that in the near future, i.e., next year Pleasure-way and many other rv manufacturers will make use of the Ford Transit chassis, from van chassis to cut-away models because the new 2020 Ford Transit will come with new engines and added telematics and safety technologies similar to the new Sprinter chassis on all of their platforms. You'll be able to get the turbo engine with 400 ft-lb torque, 10-speed transmission, auto start/stop, adaptive cruise control, dual alternators, dual turn around front seats, blind spot monitors, active lane assist, possibly self-parking assist and many others safety features. I think and hope Pleasure-Way will build their new Plateau for sale on the new 2020 chasis. Oh boy, Coachmen will have a new competitor as the Plateau floor plan looks exactly like Coachmen's Beyond model!

    I just saw that Pleasureway has announced the Ontour 2.0 & 2.2 built on the Ford Chassis! I remembered your sneak peak & came here to say thank you for providing the first video on Pleasureway's new model! I'm really wondering how large the bathroom is. The brochure says the bathroom is large, but doesn't give the size. We want a Class B, but wish we could have a dry bath. (Not too keen on the 2 Class B's that have a dry bath.) Hoping this new model comes to dealers soon so we can see it for ourselves! Any idea when they'll start delivering them? Once again, thank you so much!

    Love the new Transit version from Pleasure -Way. Eventually they’ll be available at the dealers. I’m sure this lease / rent phase is to work out the bugs of new production before fully committing them to owners. I think people will love the optional engines Ford offers - the “need for speed” and the lower cost of maintenance and excellent driving position in the cab. Plus there are many other new features coming in the 2020 model - hopefully Pleasure-Way offers them i.e. all wheel drive . . .

    A big step in the right direction. And since they now use the Transit, I can see a NEXT step would be to offer the "Lexor Plateau 4x4" -- on the 2020 4x4 Transit coming soon. Maybe even beat Coachmen to the punch putting their Crossfit/Beyond on said 4x4 Transit chassis. All Pleasure-Way "needs" to do next is make it 4-season (like Coachmen's Beyond -- and the Winnebago Revel 4x4 44E).
    FINALLY, good to see P-W moving to (at least in THIS model) a compressor refrigerator vs. the long obsolete ammonia-absorption units.
    As for their bathrooms, I know P-W has been building them the same way for decades, but with all those nooks/crannies and seams, I can't help but think of water leaking into the floor/walls at some point (despite a shower-curtain which I guess it has) -- would prefer the one-piece/no-seams "surrounds" baths. True, not as nice looking as P-W's, but practicality-wise those seem to be less prone to water leak prevention/repairs?
    As for Dodge and their ProMaster -chassis, I haven't heard of anything 4x4 coming, or even any of the ProMaster-based Class Bs being 4-season...just more of the same is "new" each year from Dodge and the B-Makers who use them. :-(

      Bill Redding Ford is NOT having a 4X4, they will have AWD, NOT THE SAME, however there IS. a company that does a 4x4 conversion, which BTW. Comes from the F150 cheers from NJ

    • @billredding2000
      @billredding2000 5 лет назад

      @@flybyairplane3528 We KNOW it's not a "real" 4x4, but that's what Ford's calling it so I am also. But neither is the Sprinter "4x4" as it's also AWD -- and as you say, it's "not the same" as a REAL 4x4 system. But that's okay, it's WAY better than a 2WD-only Class B. At least Sprinter has the extra LIFT added to their "4x4" chassis that the Transit will NOT have. I guess Ford is taking "Baby Steps" towards a "real" 4x4 Transit (for a Class B) when it should be taking "Adult Steps" and jump right to the head of the line vs. being a follower to Mercedes' lead. :-(
      I just don't want the Sprinter/diesel platform (for several reasons) so I'm looking to Ford to give us another choice (to the Sprinter/diesel Revel 4x4 44E, as mentioned earlier). But you know, in a year when I hope at least ONE Class B maker uses it.
      Yes, I know about aftermarket converters (such as Advance RV and SportsMobile) but am not interested in their WAY overpriced and LESS useful (to me) products, not to mention their insane waiting times. Plus, I've never seen ANY unit either of them produced that I LIKED. They're terrible re: layouts, amenities and such. Don't like them AT ALL. And then there's other 4x4 converters as you mention. But again, I'm not talking about 3rd parties, I want my chassis "4x4" OEM right from the factory up front.
      IMO, it'd be great to get Ford's FX4 package (with Terrain Management!) on a Transit (like they have for their pickup trucks), AND 2-3" more ground clearance. Just dreaming (yes, I know that, too)...
      Whatever, when I'm ready to buy (late 2020?), I hope we see at least ONE Ford Transit "4x4" Class B available. If not, I'll just give up on the American chassis makers and go for the Sprinter/diesel Revel.
      Happy Travels,

      @@flybyairplane3528 I know Sprinter comes in 4x4, thanks. Just don't want one. And as I said, don't want Freightliner or Dodge. I want the Major Player OEM Class B makers such as Winnebago, Coachmen, Pleasure-Way (Lexor Plateau) -- and possibly Roadtrek if it comes back, as rumor has it (!) -- to use the "4x4" (notice I'm using quotes for your pleasure) Transit when it arrives, as IMO Dodge is doing absolutely nothing re: 4x4/AWD with it's ProMaster...not its underpowered Pentastar engine, and even though Dodge DOES know how to design/build 4x4 trucks. Dodge has to be the MOST retarded Class B chassis maker on the list.
      Yes, if Ford can design the FX4 "off-road" package for its trucks, why not for its upcoming "4x4" Transits?

    A bit more info on this design. The Ford Transit 350HD is a rear dually. As of the 2019 year model, both front seats will swivel. Prior year models only had the passenger seat swivel due to the parking brake blocking the driver seat. Most common engine is the 3.5L EcoBoost engine - it has plenty of power and reasonable mileage. I would say that my, new to me, Okanagan Tribute RV would be one step below the quality of Pleasure Way. I have a brief tour of it here ruclips.net/video/2NPlBlFr3rI/видео.html You can see it is a different interior design and has a rear bath. Would love to see more manufacturers adopting the Ford Transit for their designs.
    I should add that this RV, like the Plateau is only available via an RV rental company called Fraserway. I have dealt with both Canadream and Fraserway and they are good companies to do business with. My RV is an ex-rental unit.

      Yes, hideous aren't they !! WHY white on the dark wood wall, when they would show up less in brown or black. The Velcro is there to fasten the shower curtain to protect the wood. The first thing I think I would do is totally go over all the wood in that bath with a sealer as I can't see any wood holding up very long in a shower even with a shower curtain. We all have wrestled with shower curtains and they seldom stay where we want them to while turning and twisting taking a shower in a small space therefore exposing the wood to water if not steam and moisture.

    Glad they finally used a Ford Transit instead of Dodge Promaster. I like the Ford Transit.
    I think for over $100K vehicle, cabinets and fridge could be fancier. Not a fan of this dull vinyl fake wood finish. Some slick Euro cabinets would have been much better. The fridge too, in the Adria was a mirrored finish - why don't US makers do that too?
    Pleasureway, if you are listening, hire some Italian designers and German engineers and redesign your concept. Hire Paul Elkins! Look at what Humble Road is doing, or Ourkaravan, or Greg Virgoe, or Swiss Engineer, or Dave Orton. Could we use some new materials like 80/20 aluminum, real walnut paneling or cherry, a deep, rectanular Ruvati sink, a stove that delivers 17,000 BTU, a fridge that is slick and mirrored, with a matching freezer below, and a microwave above in the same finish. A small wine glass cabinet with acrylic cutouts for stemware so they don't rattle. Twin beds in back that turn into dinettes with special hinges and a Lagun mount table. Innovations. Options. Lightweight. Airy. New materials. Outdoor accesories. Large garage for bikes. Its been done already, so you can just copy them. We have a rich source of designers in the US. We can create a space shuttle and rockets, but when it comes to RVs why are we stuck in 1950s? With decor ideas coming out of the Midwest? Lets get some avante garde ideas - create some works of art, like Airstream did ages ago. Such a wasted opportunity.

Hang clothes in an attractive canvas, zippered bag. The bag can be affixed with velcro bags for those concerned about movement.
