J.G. Conumdrum +1 this 100%. AWD, active lane assist and safety, adaptive cruise control, electric power sliding side doors, 10 speed transmission, auto start stop. Seems like you would have to be pretty hard headed to not wait! Patience is a virtue.
Between all the manufacturers reviews and price point, this model is on top on my list. I realized that I would never get everything I want on any model that is available now, so I would have to compromise. Warranty length still a concern though
Love the fact it fall in the middle...I like the length and the Lithium version. I likenthe lines and look of the Transit. Very nice...and love the color! Thanks for the in depth vid Neil! 👍😎
I love my 2019 Coachman CrossFit 22d that you helped me with. I’m full timing and I couldn’t be happier. I’m so glad I didn’t get a rig with a rear bathroom. When I camp they are back in spaces . I live for throwing those back doors open and enjoying the view.
Regarding the interior height... I'm tall and typically don't fit in class B's with under 6'3" so i was surprised when i tested this coach. It actually has MORE interior head room, it felt like 6'6" (similar to what the paseo's is). It was very pleasant surprise. This has been my favorite class b we've looked at yet. As neil said, i just wish it had a longer warranty, but if you can't get it for a good price, 7 year extended warranty from the dealership should 'only' set you back about $3k with a $100 deductible. Great video Neil, thank you!
What an excellent review, Neil, well done! The analysis was spot on, and the video/ audio quality was very good, and the camera work was exactly right, we got to see everything. Could not be improved. The engine/measurement specs were much appreciated. Something that most people gloss over. Very helpful to see the comparison chart, esp comparing Transit 350 to the Eco Boost. What is the fascination with induction cooktops? Its nice that Coachmen gives you an option with a gas cooktop. Love the large fridge! Very few Class B RV makers put in a decent fridge. This is critical for those who like to cook ahead of time and have a good supply of food when traveling, already cooked. The compression fridge is way better than absorption fridge, as they cool better, are less finicky, and do not require the RV to be on level ground. On the downside, you need more battery power, but this is improving year by year. The entire power grid system is deficient however, and they have cut corners here. I agree with you on the shortage of battery power to run that large fridge, including very low solar setup. A second alternator would cost less than $200 retail. Would eliminate need for more solar panels. Solar panels Monocrystalline EFT Flex 100 watts runs $126 approx at retail. A 2000 Watt True Sine Inverter from Samlex (best brand) is $724 on Amazon at retail. Minus the cost of the factory version at 1000W would run you about $400 more. LiOn Batteries 100 Amp Hours are $350 from China, or $949 USA x 6 = $6000 max at retail. Totals are: $200 + $126 + $400 + $6000 = $6726. How in the heck does Coachmen come up with $22,000 for these upgrades? These are retail prices, not wholesale, so you can cut this in half at $4000 cost for Coachmen. Its not much extra labor to mount one solar panel to existing setup, and a few extra batteries, except for alternator at lets say $500 labor max. Their profit margins are $17,500? Are we dealing with Crooksmen or Coachmen? Good point about 3-point seat belts. Why cut corners on safety? I think they could have done a better job on the bed layout and had a decent garage underneath like all the DIY RV'ers do, and Euro RVs have. Raise bed, add storage underneath for bulk items. Make the small seats for passenger travel. Thanks for a great review!
I very much appreciate your comparison charts as I work my way through these reviews, as well as personally trying the things so we can gauge the spaces.
Great review Neil! I'm glad to see you back doing in person reviews and footage. I know it takes more time and effort to do it this way, so there are very few RUclipsrs doing it. Your work is much appreciated!
@ Calendar: Mine will be used as a Daily Driver, so it will get regular exercise, even in Winter. As for camping, I'll just need to make sure the coach is always heated (when temps require it) as I'll have filled water tanks/plumbing then. -- BR
My dings are the small black tank capacity, and the paltry 200 watts of available solar. They should look at offering a composting toilet, which would also allow for almost double the gray water capacity, (a knife valve between the two tanks). They also need to figure out how to get 400 watts of solar on the roof, along with a 3,000 watt inverter and a two burner induction cooktop. I agree with your pointing out the need for better lighting, positive locking drawer pulls, and a residential faucet. I really like the platform, the upgraded suspension, the 3.5 Eco Boost option, the available lithium package with the extra alternator, the compressor fridge, and that kick ass 12 volt AC.
it is pretty, but with high crime these days at almost everywhere. I prefer smaller windows that a person can't break and climb in, and a partition for security.
DEFINITELY, TRUE, vehicle break ins are VERY high, especially RV that might have computers etc. I like the WInnebago double payne plastic windows JUST for the purpose it prevents attempted break ins with a AUDIBLE alrm system!
Hey Neil great content as always. BTW, @ 2:55 chart, the 2020 Transit actually DOES have adaptive cruise control capability (perhaps optional) but 2020 has that feature at least according to several sources. Thx always for such great reviews.
Dove tail drawers, very nice looking interior, great ccc, good fresh tank size, nice open layout, powerful engine option, nice but too expensive Li option. All good stuff. But you are concerned about build quality? What specifically worried you? You did not mention anything specific regarding build quality, so it was quite a surprise to hear that at the end. If I were in the market for a nice B, at around 100k, this should be near the top.
Hi Neil....went to the Hershey show last weekend and I saw a Beyond with a rear bath....new floor plan....still not on the coachman website.....makes the van really open....competing with Winnebago and Thor for the popular B market..
@@Ultramobility Even the average Canadian male is 177lbs. Average American male is 197, average American female is 168. I laugh every time you post the weight. I am the weight of the average female that you state and I workout at least 2 hours everyday. Most women in America do not do this.
J.G. Conumdrum Yep I would go with 250 and 150 as a more reasonable choice but Neil is from Silicon valley where they do starve themselves in the name of “Healthier lifestyle” 😂😂😂
Neil, thanks for calling them out on the lap belts only at the rear lounge. They really need to put three point belts wherever they can - even if they are not strictly required by law.
Hey, as always great review - I love watching your reviews. I did not hear you talk about the heater on this one. Is it the Truma Combi like what used to be on the CrossFit? I really like the idea of having the electric heat option and being able to use the gas generator to drive the power so as to not need to be constantly looking for propane stations in the winter. There don't seem to be any Class B vans that have gasoline heaters. I know they make diesel heaters, but most vans are gas it seems. I'm looking for a "4 season" to the extent that the water lines and water tank are inside. I wonder if the lithium upgrade forces the water tank underneath - if that is the case there goes the 4 seasons unless it can be insulated and heated. Thoughts??
I agree, the main draw of this class B is the Transit chassis. I don't want to deal with modern diesel. But I still can't think of a motorhome that I love unreservedly. They all seem somewhat questionable qualitywise. I expect more for something over 100k
I like the Ford chassis.i like cabinets. But I would prefer one or both options of seating chairs convert to bed left and right instead of strait back or leave it way it is and build larger bathroom. Another idea around 4season conversation of protect plumbing in winter is offer maybe offer woodburn or gas type stove for winter travel (small one give off lots of heat) or if that's not possible alleviate stove add more space for bathroom and seating area and if any extra space place a table instead of kitchen sink and stove. Overall I love this vehicle great eye level features and windows are doable.! Thank you for your time.
Hi Neil. Thx for the review. I enjoy watching even if I'm not planning to buy this particular model cause you can always learn something new. I wanted to ask if you had any plans to review custom van shops that build class B vans. I understand the ease of access to review the more well known companies. It'd be wonderful to get your perspective on companies like Outside Van, Glamper Van, Van Life Customs, etc. I'm finding prices comparable and wondering if more people would benefit from considering these options as well when getting into the RV lifestyle. Keep up the great work!
@@Ultramobility I sent Sportsmobile an email several months ago asking if they ever plan on building a Ford Transit pop top on the mid-level roof, and they replied telling me that they have already designed one and are currently building it. They said it would be ready to unveil to the public this Fall. One of those with the new AWD system would be sweet! Maybe you could review one of those?
@@Ultramobility Besides outrageous prices, they also have a outrageously LONG wait time...which probably applies also to answering their e-mails -- and not answering you is just plain rude (if not insulting) which IMO is another mark agaisnt them. Personally, I have zero interest in Sportsmobile for those reasons...PLUS, I've never seen even one floorplans they do that I like. -- BR
On the bathroom, I can or someone can invent an extension, it's a fold-out box to catch the shower water and the shower curtain is stretched out automatically around this extension. You take advantage of the floor space to give you much elbow room. Plus access to the air exhaust fan. Si or no?
Nice review Neil. They should consider expanding the bath room area , appears to have the room and if possible a small window. Agree with your assessment on build QLTY, however it should be noted they seem to be addressing this. Some units already have a much nicer sink, same as their sprinter model. Thanks again
Sportsmobile offers Ford Transit options, but they're custom. The problem with the rear sofa is that there is no front table. I wouldn't be able to work while my partner is sleeping. How many 3 point seat belts are on a Greyhound bus?
Hi Neil.....coachman does offer a power plus upgrade that is not lithium but has 2000 watt inverter with auto gen start with solar and firefly multiplex wiring........:)
In the end everything comes down to cost....I liked it better when you reviewed this coach the first time when it was the crossfit. I think for the money this is an excellent coach. Here are the pros of this coach that you get, that way way more expensive coaches dont give you. The ecoboost engine gives you more power and torque than the MB and it is a gas engine not diesel.....the fact that its a Ford saves you thousands at the time of sale and everytime you service it for maintance or REPAIRS!!!!!.....A major Pro is the OCCC.....this is a deal breaker for most other coaches......The 22 ft length makes it asscessable to park anywhere including your driveway....try doing that with Eras, Airstreams, LTV, PW.....the cops and neighbors will be visiting you with complaints....the 12 volt AC is 20000 btu and most vans ac units are 11000 .....the insulation upgrade and the suspension upgrades make this coach superior to most coaches....that is if driving and cooling and warming the coach are important to you.....I understand that the bed comfort may not be the best....but that is an easy fix with toppers or sleeing bags....this is a couples coach....two people...it is very adequate...if the draws fixtures bother you then please pay 30,40,50 thousand more for a coach that uses stick framing in its cabinets....In the end this coach drives as good or better....can carry more.. keep cooler or warmer...and looks as good as way more expensive models........I agree that the one year warrenty is baffling.....but I look at it this way....the components are quality (Truma summo xantrex etc)..The cabinets are industry best...there are no slides....the construction and insulation are superior....the wiring is multiplex.....im sure something will go wrong...but it will also happen in 150-200 thousand dollar van.....thx
Generator and campground with electric service will charge batteries. I would add more battery and solar because we rarely ever camp with plug ins . Love the fridge. Probably take a small butane stove instead of using the induction if generator use is not doable due to campground rules or too rude to the neighbors.
The Crossfit is the top mass produced class B simply for the value that it offers. It's certainly not the highest in build quality, but you can't have it all at this price! And it offers a few features that are rare in the class B segment, things like a large lithium battery, compressor fridge, quality cabinetry, good insulation, etc. I really don't think it can be beat for the price. Even with the optional Li3 system and other expensive options, the price is very competitive. Considering the top end price point of around $115k, this is the best 'entry-level' class B available right now, in my opinion.
I find the Class B campervans very interesting, the wife leans more toward a trailer. We will need to rent a few different rigs and get some experience before making a decision and purchasing. We have had 2 Chalet trailers and know that we need more space and features. Thanks for your reviews, I know more about what to look for, and what to look out for.
Very disappointing for the way we travel but it may be ideal for others. Ditch the seat and extend the countertop. At least a two burner cooktop. Fixed bed that is comfortable and nap ready at any time.
Having seat belts in the back is great for a safety issue but when you lay the bed down you're sleeping on the damn seat belts and they're exposed you'd have to use a mattress top or a regular mattress thrown on top & the bed open all the time
Just watched after watching the Crossfit review. Recommendation for the CrossFit was "Buy It". Are the Beyond drawers still dovetailed, still positive locking drawers, cabinet doors, fridge, TV? Any exposed wires in the cabinets, plumbing, sticks and staples cabinetry? Are the countertop and toilet bowl now plastic? Same compressor fridge. Still Truma Combi Eco Plus ducted heat? What constitutes so-so?
@@specvross Yes, the 2020 will be available with AWD, updated front dash, NAV screen is way bigger, way more built in storage on top of the dash, all the safety tech like lane keep assist, cruze control with auto braking, front sensors to help with parking. And a few more things...
@@spellmadam2947 I know there is a after market kit currently available but in not sure if it will be a factory option on the 2020 from your local Ford Dealer.
@@justonpreble4083 thanks. we are looking forward to the AWD living in N Idaho. Really don't want to have to store a rig for winter. We want to use it!!
Hi Neil, would you be willing to do a review on the 2021 American Coach Ford Patriot MD? Thank you. I love everything about Pleasure Way except the 3 way fridge : ( If PW comes out with a Compressor fridge this year, that would be my choice of RV. Thank you Neil.
Neil, Thank you again for another great video! You hadn’t mentioned anything about the insulation for Beyond but you did previously for the CrossFit I believe; can you talk about that-thank you
The two rear side rear Windows only open 1 inch and in the heat there is not enough ventilation to breath. It also rains inside. It is not pleasant to have to run a vent fan or AC all of the time! It also wastes energy. I was told that a model with roof access and storage will be an option.
Hi Neil...love your no-nonsense & logical/practical approach to RV reviews. Hope my question isn't out of context: My wife & I have watched a plethora of videos trying to narrow the RV field and the pendulum has swung completely from left to right and back again; the luxury and livability of Class A & 5th Wheel to the drivability/maneuverability of Vans . It wasn't until we defined how and WHY we were going to vacation/travel into our "re-purposed" chapter of life that we were able to narrow the field to B+ or Class C equivalent. We have reviewed many of your B+ videos and from there have narrowed the type of floor plan that would work for us. Would you have a recommendation of a comparison of a slightly (and I mean only "slightly") larger than say the LTV series, but yet still maneuverable Class C? Maybe some of your following would have some advice.... thanks everyone...I know that research is key, but we're getting anxious (and also tired) to making a final decision.....retirement date is looming.
Great review. The wet bath for us not so good and we would appreciate a more comfortable bed. Li upgrade is great and price is better than expected. Thanks Neil. Peter
Great review Neil! I love everything about this coach until you get to the warranty. I just DO NOT understand such a weak warranty on a $100,000 dollar vehicle. They need to catch up with the other companies that have longer warranties. I would definitely get the lithium system as the lead acid system is just plain weak. I love the air conditioning unit that was on the unit you reviewed. One thing that did not get covered was the Multiplex wiring....I think it is by Firefly which seems to be a popular system. If they would just up their warranty I would give this coach a serious look.
thank you so much. yep i didn't mention that power plus package which upgrades the inverter to 2k and puts in multiplex wiring. they just really need to move to multiplex wiring as standard. not sure why they make it an optional package.
@@Ultramobility It is interesting as far as the choices a manufacturer will make option wise. Multiplex is an option? That's odd because it has such nice benefits over not having it.
Hi Neil, I just saw the Coachmen Beyond 22RB (rear bath) at the show in Pleasanton which looks stellar and outdoes the equivalent Winnebago model, IMO. The 'only' downside I could see is they've retained those pant-snagging handles on all the cabinetry; I suspect those would be easy to change out. I do hope you'll be able to create one of your excellent reviews for this model!
Oh those handles. This is not the only manufacturer using them to give the coach a modern look. I love modern, but those handles grab everything! Pants, pantloops, purse straps, dog collars, phone cords... the list is endless. There are other modern handles that don't stick out like that and I hope manufacturers move to those. Or, as you said, a flush positive locking mechanism even better for a Class B. This will not be my choice, but I'm more and more determined that I will go Ford, either Transit or E350/E450 depending on the kind of unit I get.
@@Ultramobility I've looked at so many videos I can't remember who has what but there's at least one other coach manufacturer using them. Winnebago maybe?? It's funny, I just did a massive home remodel a couple of years ago and I first wanted those handles. It was my contractor who warned me, "no, you do not want those!" And a house is far more space than an RV.
When you reviewed the Travato KL, you cautioned against a $20k lithium battery system, but this unit has a similar system at a similar price point and you say it makes sense. What's the difference?
at the time, the pure3 lithium upgrade was pretty expensive and there wasn't much of a discount. time has passed and i'm sure the the pure3 system is now discounted. if i review a kl in the future and i see the discount then i will point that out and not ding it for an expensive lithium upgrade path. for the beyond, i'm seeing the xantrex lithium upgrade discounted down to around $12k to $13k which makes it much more reasonable. make sense?
Ultramobility / pure3 was a over priced rip-off from the get go. Taking advantage of people should be investigated by some authority I believe. Only the uninformed fell for this sales nightmare. Glad you pointed it out.
Very nice, i agree with you on the drawer pulls. They look great but are not practical in such a small space. I love the interior colors and cabinets.I just found you and you do a great job on your review. I will be checking out more reviews.
Your reviews area improving and more informing. I might be critical of the build value versus price. Freeze point is critical as the payments run 4 seasons or $1,500 monthly when it can't even be stored in a ready to go status.
Admittedly, I own a 2018 Travato 59k and don't plan on trading it in anytime soon. However, that wet-bath is too confined where you have to sit on the toilet in order to shower. Also, those kitchen draws sticking out what were they thinking?
I wonder why Coachmen calls this a 2020 model when it's clearly on a 2019 chassis. The new Ford 2020 Transit chassis has a remodeled front grill, available AWD and new engine options. Just to name a few of its upgrades.
As others note - this is 2020 Coachmen, but a 2019 Ford Transit. Coachmen build dates are a year ahead of the chassis. When the 2020 Transits arrive, they will offer stock AWD, both front seats swivel, larger info screen avail; and other items.. big deal.. I'm waiting for the 2020 chassis to arrive at Coachmen now....
Well presented. Odd to try and remember the summer before COVID-19. If only we had known what was coming. My guess is 2022 pricing is at least 30% higher and the supply is 40% less.
Buying a 2021 Coachmen Beyond and I am wondering what you think about all the additional coverage the dealers try to sell you? Motor Club, tire and wheel coverage, gap protection, eco pro appearance protection!
Great review. Liked the Li3 and DC Air Conditioner combination, dually wheels, roomier wet bath, stove options and the 30 gallons of water. I'm grateful that it's almost 4 season ready. and could be improved by tank heaters and water line insulation. But it's not in eco-diesel, and thin on garage space.
Lack of three point seatbelts in the back is a deal breaker for us. It would be so easy to have back there. And I am not sure about that refrigerator. We have camped in very hot desert areas and our absorption refrigerator has always kept up.
@@Ultramobility I would also agree on the 3pt seatbelts but please in your summaries also state total seatbelts or separate item for lap belts. For highway driving I want more than lap belts but for some slow driving in parks lap belts will keep you legal in some states and are an option. In some of your past videos, you would discount or not mention them, stating a coach only sat 2, for example, instead of seats 2 in 3pt plus 2 lap belts. I definitely want the industry to move towards 3pt, and while I have the same opinion as you, don't let an opinion skirt over what is there. To be fair, you have mentioned the lap belts available in more recent reviews, but not always the number. Just a minor recommendation. Your videos are beyond fantastic. I just wish there were something like the WGO 59k layout with rear dry bath, maybe on the sprinter to allow a third captain's chair but even so. The Arriva just doesn't quite cut it. The Beyond 22D with rear dry bath would be great. Anyway, keep up the good work.
Does the drivers position seat turn around? My neighborhood association in limiting the size or commercial vehicles does not allow long term parking of vehicles with dual wheels. However we do have a few Class "B" motorhomes in our neighborhood without dual wheels that are acceptable. comments?
driver's seat does not turn around. just plead your case to your hoa and see if they'll give you a waiver. the van is really clean looking. usually hoa's are worried about class c and class a rvs.
Embassy RV offers three floorplans based on the Transit van. I just learned about them today. Have a look. I'd love to see what you think of them. Take Care! -Scott
Neil, are you going to be able to get your hands on the Winnebago Ekko that's been making the rounds of reviewers? I'd love to hear what you have say about it!
Just pop up one question, there is a heat opening beyond the sofa,? because if there is nothing ,that would be a very cold area, and it's very very. Uncomfortable
Thank you for the revue. Glad to hear that the Ford Transit 350 chassis is still in the running. Except for the availability of service, the Transit 350 is an outstanding base for a class B.
Hi Neil, For the 2020 PW Ascent, I’ve noticed that the dealers have not opted for solar panels. Can PW add them after I purchase the RV. I’d like to have PW responsible for any holes or mishaps. Any suggestions?
Last year you were very impressed with the fit and finish of the D model, this year not so with the C Did they drop the quality between the model year like it sometimes happens with some builders?
thanks for keeping me honest. i like the cabinetry on both models but i have to be honest that the overall quality needs to improve and they need to offer more than a 1 year warranty.
Ultramobility 👍 The Passeo has been basically terminated I believe and it offered a 1 year The LTV Wonder is a C class with 2 years so it’s pretty much alone out there in the B class universe
@ Today: Winnebago used it for their Paseo 48P. Also, Leisure Vans uses it for their Wonder (but that's not a Class B -- more like a B+ or small C, as it uses a cutaway Transit chassis). And as mentioned earlier, Pleasure-Way also uses the Transit for their Plateau TS, but it's only made for CanaDream (a Canadian rental company) and not available for sale in Canada even, let alone here in the US. -- BR
Nice review, but I'm wondering why the change in your assessment of the quality of the Beyond compared with your review of the Crossfit? You said there that the quality was such that it could easily take on a longer warranty. Here you said 1 year is reflective of it's quality. Has it actually gone downhill? Also, check out the SVO Embassy coach. They now say on their website that they can build their class B on the Transit and Sprinter chassis, as well as their original Promaster. They have a very interesting design with what appears to be standard lithium power. Details are sketchy though.
To be honest, Laura I think i'm pushing my standards up higher as time goes on. I've now seen many more coaches and quality levels are going up - the bar is moving up and its no longer enough to just have dove tailed cabinets and quality components. Manufacturers now need to focus on things like the thickness of their memory foam on their cushions, putting positive locks on all cabinets, stop using stick framing and staples, think more about ergonomics, put more thought into balancing energy systems with the components that they're installing. The Beyond isn't horrible quality but at the price point that they're asking the quality needs to improve. That's just my opinion but I do appreciate your question and hope my answer makes sense.
@@Ultramobility All Beyond's have positive locks on drawers, cabinets are all soft closed/stay closed hinges. All beyond's are solid wood cabinetry, what stick framing are you talking about Neil? All Beyond's come standard with multiplex wiring, and a 330 AH battery, the Xantrex inverter balances the energy load. Again every beyond comes standard with a 2000 watt inverter. Not an option, Coachmen has never used a 1000 watt inverter. I get it, you like puffy cushions, I like firm. That's not build quality, that's preference. Build quality is found behind the scenes, like Rock Wool insulation for quieter drive, marine grade PVC vinyl interior walls that absorb sound and can be wiped clean. Build quality is putting the Sumo upgrade on the van before you have to after the purchase. Take a look at the wheel wells where most noise enters the coach while cruising down the highway, only Coachmen is placing hushmat over the wheel wells. Why are your PW wheel wells raw? Because no one really looks for build quality, there more focused on the thickness of a cushion.
first, congratulations julia! second if you haven't yet claimed your $250 rebate head on over to www.pleasureway.com/reward and use my PAC #837 to get a $250 rebate check. Full disclosure I'll also get a check from PW which will help my channel! Finally, i gave up on sheets for my ascent. the bed is irregularly shaped. my new tactic is to get really comfortable pajamas which I can wash regularly and then lay down some really comfortable blankets and treat my comfy pjs as my sheets with the blankets top and bottom providing comfort and warmth. it works really well for me so far. i also tried one of those giant sleeping bag things which have sheets velcroed in but that was a nightmare and didn't really solve anything. my new method is fast, comfortable and cheap!
Pretty nice layout. I agree that the cabinet handles can be problematic, esp maneuvering in such a tight space. I would prefer locking marine type closures; those cabinets could come open while traveling. My preference is to be able to open the back doors and exit. Love the induction cooktop option - wish other manufacturers would offer it. The bed doesn’t look comfy. I dont care for the shower in the front or the tiny shower.
What do you think about the 2020 Coachmen Beyond 22C?
When they release the 2020 AWD it will be a game changer
Yes this is a good choice of a van, I would select the two beds side by side so this would work and has a decent cargo capacity.
I love my 2019 Coachman CrossFit 22d that you helped me with. I’m full timing and I couldn’t be happier. I’m so glad I didn’t get a rig with a rear bathroom. When I camp they are back in spaces . I live for throwing those back doors open and enjoying the view.
No doubt bench seat plus the extra seating plus I can’t wait to open that back up waking up ow can’t wait first RIG probably gonna be older Roadtrek
Great to hear!
Every time i watch a review for an RV, I'm super happy I'm building my own. Good video -thanks for the great info.
Great review Neil!
I'm glad to see you back doing in person reviews and footage. I know it takes more time and effort to do it this way, so there are very few RUclipsrs doing it. Your work is much appreciated!
thanks so much for letting me know! i appreciate it!
@ Calendar:
Mine will be used as a Daily Driver, so it will get regular exercise, even in Winter.
Always a pleasure listening and watching your reviews of all of these RV's! Keep up the great work Neil!
Your videos are getting REALLY good! It's great to see the views on your previous videos continuing to increase!
I like how you pointed out the little stuff that could be annoying later. Great review 👍
160 lbs for a driver and 130 lbs for a passenger. That must be for the average woman and 10 year old child in the USA. Excellent review
thank you so much J.G. Conumdrum!
@@Ultramobility Even the average Canadian male is 177lbs. Average American male is 197, average American female is 168. I laugh every time you post the weight. I am the weight of the average female that you state and I workout at least 2 hours everyday. Most women in America do not do this.
So when my spouse and I figure in our weights, we overload the tiffin without supplies. Thank you @Ultramobility for this update.
J.G. Conumdrum Yep
I would go with 250 and 150 as a more reasonable choice but Neil is from Silicon valley where they do starve themselves in the name of “Healthier lifestyle” 😂😂😂
That is not even close to the average size American
Thoughts??
Thanks again Neil, because of your reviews, i've decided on getting a 2019 crossfit!
At time stamp around 9:30, you mention the water tanks moving to the outside if upgrading to the lithium (LI3 system) so how does it remain 4 season??
I’ve reached out to sports mobile several times but they have not gotten back to me…
@@Ultramobility I sent Sportsmobile an email several months ago asking if they ever plan on building a Ford Transit pop top on the mid-level roof, and they replied telling me that they have already designed one and are currently building it.
I always enjoy your in-depth and insightful reviews.
I appreciate that!
Hi Neil.....coachman does offer a power plus upgrade that is not lithium but has 2000 watt inverter with auto gen start with solar and firefly multiplex wiring........:)
yep this coach has the power plus upgrade!
Excellent, in-depth review.
I'm a huge fan of this class b. I drove a 2019 eco boost version a liked most things about it. I think it is a good value
thanks for sharing that!
Is a review of the new Thor Sequence Class B on your radar? It almost appears to be a Winnie 59K...
I personally hated that huge refrigerator!
No ventilation in the shower room, not good.
Having seat belts in the back is great for a safety issue but when you lay the bed down you're sleeping on the damn seat belts and they're exposed you'd have to use a mattress top or a regular mattress thrown on top & the bed open all the time
I noticed that, too. There are seatbelts all over that bed! Not something that would be comfortable to sleep on.
I’m so glad they added windows in the lounge that open. The Crossfit windows didn’t open. Good value for a first time RV buyer.
The white is stunning!
This may be a 2020 for Coachmen, but to Ford its 2019.... the true 2020 Ford Transits will change the game...
why do you say that ? are they better in a certain way?
@@specvross Yes, the 2020 will be available with AWD, updated front dash, NAV screen is way bigger, way more built in storage on top of the dash, all the safety tech like lane keep assist, cruze control with auto braking, front sensors to help with parking. And a few more things...

Peter
thanks for watching peter!
Excellent presentation. Like pros and cons at end and honest appraisal throughout the review.
Much appreciated!
This will not be my choice, but I'm more and more determined that I will go Ford, either Transit or E350/E450 depending on the kind of unit I get.
right? the handles! the handles! what was coachmen thinking??
@@Ultramobility I've looked at so many videos I can't remember who has what but there's at least one other coach manufacturer using them. Winnebago maybe?? It's funny, I just did a massive home remodel a couple of years ago and I first wanted those handles. It was my contractor who warned me, "no, you do not want those!" And a house is far more space than an RV.
Thank you. Very thorough, as always.
Thanks for watching!
Hello Neil,
As far as "Fit & Finish" in your opinion, who's better, Coachmen Beyond or Fleetwood Irok?
i think the IROK is better.
It would be nice to get an update on this RV. It seems that Coachman now has one of the best B vans!
Lots of info. Thank you for your detailed review.
What a great review with measurements too. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
You can easily add wireless overhead dimmable LED lights that can be controlled with a phone app or switch.
Very classy looking coach. Mileage darn good for a has rig. Never used an induction stove but I hear good things.
Your reviews area improving and more informing. I might be critical of the build value versus price. Freeze point is critical as the payments run 4 seasons or $1,500 monthly when it can't even be stored in a ready to go status.
thank you so much fredric!
Admittedly, I own a 2018 Travato 59k and don't plan on trading it in anytime soon. However, that wet-bath is too confined where you have to sit on the toilet in order to shower. Also, those kitchen draws sticking out what were they thinking?
Great detailed video! About how much do you think the lithium upgrade would cost?
Great information as I want a ford transit.
I wonder why Coachmen calls this a 2020 model when it's clearly on a 2019 chassis. The new Ford 2020 Transit chassis has a remodeled front grill, available AWD and new engine options. Just to name a few of its upgrades.
all manufacturers do this: their 2020 model years are based on the previous chassis model year. just the way they do it.
@@Ultramobility Thanks for the clarification.

I would like to see a review of the new 2020 Airstream Interstate 19
As others note - this is 2020 Coachmen, but a 2019 Ford Transit. Coachmen build dates are a year ahead of the chassis. When the 2020 Transits arrive, they will offer stock AWD, both front seats swivel, larger info screen avail; and other items.. big deal.. I'm waiting for the 2020 chassis to arrive at Coachmen now....
Well presented. Odd to try and remember the summer before COVID-19. If only we had known what was coming. My guess is 2022 pricing is at least 30% higher and the supply is 40% less.
Hi Neil, great video! I’m wondering if coachmen have similar layout as Hymer Aktiv with fix bed that can carry total 4 passengers? Thank you
not yet jasmine but i heard that they're working on a new model!
Great review!!!
I won’t get this one at all-we’re too tall 😭and it’s not suited enough for full time living.
Good choice!
Lack of three point seatbelts in the back is a deal breaker for us. It would be so easy to have back there. And I am not sure about that refrigerator. We have camped in very hot desert areas and our absorption refrigerator has always kept up.
I agree about the three. Seatbelts. Hopefully they’re listening and change that in future models years.
Nicely done but no mention of the abundance of windows and how it affects R factor in winter.
@Greg: The driver's seat can't turn due to the handbrake lever blocking it (IIRC).

Hi Neil! Can you go full electric with this coach for heat and hot water? I really don’t want to deal with propane. Thanks!

They sell very good quality remote control battery operated lighting that you could add to this coach and it would be perfectly fine.
I'd love one.
How do you adjust or change the mood light coloring in those cabinets?
The only odd thing with the 3.7. Liter engine, is that the water pump, is Built” INTERNALLY “ in the engine, NOT BELT DRIVEN.,, Cheers from NJ
Didn't you forget about the Leisure coaches manufactured up in Manitoba, although the Transits run on the diesel engine.
Leisure Travel Vans are Class C
Last year you were very impressed with the fit and finish of the D model, this year not so with the C
Did they drop the quality between the model year like it sometimes happens with some builders?
thanks for keeping me honest. i like the cabinetry on both models but i have to be honest that the overall quality needs to improve and they need to offer more than a 1 year warranty.
Ultramobility 👍
The Passeo has been basically terminated I believe and it offered a 1 year The LTV Wonder is a C class with 2 years so it’s pretty much alone out there in the B class universe
You likely have already answered this question but what is the other company that uses the Ford Transit chassis? Thank you
@ Today:
Winnebago used it for their Paseo 48P.

Another great review, Neil. Thanks.
My pleasure!
Because no one really looks for build quality, there more focused on the thickness of a cushion.
john monterusso excellent points
Can you address ground clearance concerns on this and other Transet based vans ?
Hi Neal. We just got a 2020 Ascent. I can't figure out how to put sheets on the bed. What do you use on the bed? Thanks!
first, congratulations julia! second if you haven't yet claimed your $250 rebate head on over to www.pleasureway.com/reward and use my PAC #837 to get a $250 rebate check.
Isn’t Ford coming out with a diesel soon for this van ?
Pretty nice layout. I agree that the cabinet handles can be problematic, esp maneuvering in such a tight space. I would prefer locking marine type closures; those cabinets could come open while traveling. My preference is to be able to open the back doors and exit. Love the induction cooktop option - wish other manufacturers would offer it. The bed doesn’t look comfy. I dont care for the shower in the front or the tiny shower.
very detailed and informative review. Thanks
