ElliotRiot This was me with literally any game I got at 7. I literally played the shit out of Simpsons Wrestling, even though it's easily the worst wrestling game of all time and one of the worst games of all time.
I remember this game. In fact, I was telling a friend about it just the other day. She didn't believe me when I said there was an actual officially licensed Shrek game where all you do is wander around looking for picnic stuff. But here we are. I didn't imagine it. This game exists. I remembered it was bad, but I never imagined it was this atrocious. This review has made it all start flooding back to me; the crappy menus, the unbeatable enemies that just knock you over, the random blobs of cheese with the purplish aura. I don't remember the minigames though. Either I was so bad at the game as a kid that I never got to the minigames, I got so bored of it so quickly that I never got to the minigames, or this game was so bad that those memories are properly suppressed. If I remember correctly, there was an instance at one point where Acclaim Entertainment were sued by the Olsen Twins because a licensed game they made was so bad that it was seen as defamatory. If I were a Dreamworks exec, I probably would have sued The Code Monkeys for the same reason for this steaming pile of poop.

Wandergirl108 Same I also like the menu music! 🙋🏼💁🏼 I love medieval and European folklore, that must have something to do Anything that has to do with fairy tales, folklore and European pagan culture/witchcraft I am automatically attracted to, I love books about medieval and antiquity Europe, romances and legends and fairy tales, history, that was the main reason also I watched shrek as a kid, and I liked anything related, like Barbie princess movies like Swam princess and rapunzel, Eragon, Harry Potter, Narnia, or tv series like Grimm and Guinevere jones and so on and so on.. 🙂👍🏻
Your point is absolutely valid! 2002 is two years after the creation of Threads of Fate, the best game ever made, and that game was for the PS1! The only treasure you're looking for is a functional game. I've never seen anything this slow in years! Code Monkeys, I noticed you used a sound effect from Simpsons' Skateboarding, I can't be the only one who noticed the select sound sounding similar to the timer sound? Right?
Goofy's Funhouse was far more stable than this game, and at the very least gave you some goofy animations to watch after you completed the minigames. That being said, this was a good review!
To put the gfx in comparison to other PS1 games, Einhänder came out in '98. This came out in 2002. Not having Square's budget isn't really a good excuse that many years later.
