Sounds very sweet. I hope that mine will start that easy. 1976 corvette stingray w/ a balanced and blue printed 383 stroker 14:1 solid lift cam build .
What nice truck. Beautiful car, beautiful dog. I’d love to watch some video with the truck on the road and to have your firs impressions. Thanks for the video.
Just found your channel as I am looking to install one of these on my 79 Chrysler Cordoba! You left us hanging! Hoping for a test drive video real soon! Hopefully no more snow there in Alberta! Just Rain here in New Brunswick!
IAC(Idle Air Control) 81% to 100% needs to be adjusted down to 5-15% at idle by adjusting butterfly opening to let more air through at idle and TPS(Throttle Position Sensor) must be re-calibrated after adjusting IAC every time, hope that helps.
It was at 100% when he was idling. Adjust the idle screw. Open it up a bit and she'll start and run great. The way it is, she won't idle any higher no matter how high you program it because the iac motor is opened all the way.
Dale Leidigh thank you soon as I heard him say he will probably have to replace the intake,I thought do they not have J B weld in Canada. Lil dab will do it an let it dry an sand the extra off an then just Teflon tape the threads on the sensor to prevent any coolant seeping through $10 fix
Great job! Replace that intake with a Holley... Get a thermostat housing with a temp sender port.. My nephew is a Holley engineer in bowling Green KY. He's put snipers and the stelth EFI on Everything they own..you might have seen his Malibu on the Holley hotrod tour. Plus in some of the Christmas commercials.. it's gray primer with a front red fender..looks like shit.. but it's a ls and will really haul..if you ever need help. I'll give you his personal number. Just to piss him off..lol
Great video, really enjoyed it. I had a similar intake manifold experience on my El Camino. Right out of the box, put the temp sensor in and it wouldn' get tight then I noticed it was cracked.
Great Video!! I also have my stand alone ignition system control not ran by holley unit but it always shows up on the handheld unit. Hope you can get the intake fixed / replaced before driving season. I have noticed now with efi the wife and I drive the car a lot more than before. the channel is good keep up with videos.
Great Video ! well done. I have the exact same color of truck in Alberta less the Big Block and its a GMC. I purchased this Sniper kit for my 72 Buick GS. Hope to get it installed sooner than later.
Man, I have a green ‘72 Cheyenne. Was going to paint it with the classic white accents but that truck inspires me to keep it original The temp sensor is pipe thread and is tapered for a seal. Typical of cast to crack in over-tightening; sorry to hear.
Hey buddy any npt fitting is tapered so over tightening pipe thread or npt thread will crack the female port. But take that to any experienced aluminum welder and it can be repaired...
The fluid coming from your exhaust was water. It's a good thing. It is an indication of proper combustion. I find it odd that stopped with the EFI install.
Carbs notoriously waste 70% fuel to the exhaust. Im hoping for better burn with EFI on my '70 CST-10. Along with its already installed water burning system (HHO). My Q-Jet just isnt responsive enuf - going EFI w/ HHO.
Great videos sir!! I’m installing the MSDEFI onto a 1986 Chevrolet C 10 and MSD told me not to run the PVC valve to the throttlebody? So I’m trying to reach out to a few people that’s doing the same install or similar and ask them are you having any problems with your PVC valve it looks like it’s up to you throttlebody but I couldn’t see for sure could you share any information on that with me? Thank you!!
You didn't have to use the 10 pin connector at all. You could have just tied the yellow wire into the factory tach wire.. I know you installed this 2 years ago, but I just saw your video. lol
Did you have to do anything different/special because you got a cam ?..I'm thinking about purchasing this Efi kit for my 91 cammed (not sure what cam it gots)Chevy.
Did I see 23 degrees ign timing, just b4 shut down? My base level 350 '70 CST-10 is 14 BTDC. Im leaning heavy 2wrd to the Sniper Q-Jet EFI. Spendy compared to problematic FiTech ~ 50% higher MSRP.
Try trimming the black plastic sleeve on the throttle cable between the unit and the bracket. I had the same issue with a carb. Have someone push the pedal down and see if it hits the bracket.
@@Ekliptix If that doesn't work look into your pedal arm . I had to bend my pedal arm on my 52 f1 to get more throw but an easy fix and worked great. NICE C 10 by the way. Hope this helps. Aloha
What is your exaust set up, love how it sounds, I have a 70 c10 would love to set min up with the same set up you have? Please help, I will be looking forward to your response thx!
I'm sad to say I've put few miles on the truck since the efi install. I did bring it to a performance shop, who custom tuned it and adjusted the timing, picking up about 25whp. They also did some adjustments to the fuel lines out of the tank, but I have not looked under to see what exactly they changed. They did add a holley fuel mat in the tank, which will prevent any issues with fuel when the tank is low, as a precaution.
Great vids! I’m installing mine currently on a 66 Chevelle. How helpful will that spacer be? I have one sitting aside that I thought wouldn’t be of much use with the EFI set up, would it be worth installing?
The fuel system does require a return line. In my truck there was a factory return line into the gas tank which I was able to use with the Holley Sniper return hose.
engine was dyno'ed 430hp/460tq. 1/4 mi after this install was a crappy 14.5 at 90mph. 6 times. Either the engine is not making the power reported on the dyno, or the trans is robbing way too much power before it gets to the tires. I'm dropping the tuck off at a performance shop soon so they can sort it out and I can finally get into the 13's at 100mph+. I'm no amateur at drag racing. I've been 11.3 at 125 with a 6 speed.
Did stepping down the return line from 3/8 to 1/4 cause any issues? Holley told me that 5/16 was the minimum requirement for the return line. I all ready have a 1/4 return line on my Chevelle and would like to use it if the system works with it.
I've had no issues with the fuel system. On a higher hp setup, it's possible but the 1/4" section of my return is so short, it's mainly 5/16, I'm no worried.
Sometimes, it's certainly not the center of my life. Right now I'm trying to get it running again after changing the intake manifold. Looking into spark issues, timing, etc. Can't yet comment on any issues with the way I ran the fuel system.
Your videos have helped me tremendously to get started on my install on my 69 Chevelle SS 468ci BB Sniper Stealth project :)
Sounds very sweet. I hope that mine will start that easy. 1976 corvette stingray w/ a balanced and blue printed 383 stroker 14:1 solid lift cam build .
You did a great job nice and clean job on the wiring and fuel lines 👍
Thanks for taking the time posting these videos. Installing the Sniper in my 1973 Corvette.
Great video! Bummer on the ol crack in intake manifold, looking forward to your review once you get it on the road!!
Good looking truck. Love seeing the old Texas plates.
Video makes me think about putting EFI on my old '69.
Intake is repairable, btw.
What nice truck. Beautiful car, beautiful dog. I’d love to watch some video with the truck on the road and to have your firs impressions. Thanks for the video.

That is a really nice looking truck. I noticed it had Texas license plates.
IAC(Idle Air Control) 81% to 100% needs to be adjusted down to 5-15% at idle by adjusting butterfly opening to let more air through at idle and TPS(Throttle Position Sensor) must be re-calibrated after adjusting IAC every time, hope that helps.

great video and very educational. Intake crack! I did the same thing on my 72 Nova and used JB Weld to fix the problem. Good luck.
truck sounds awesome
Good video. I installed the same exact unit over the fall last year.
Swee C10 very clean. I enjoyed your videos i am doing a similar set on my 81. Cant wait to see it on the road!
J-B Weld the crack in the intake manifold
Dale Leidigh thank you soon as I heard him say he will probably have to replace the intake,I thought do they not have J B weld in Canada. Lil dab will do it an let it dry an sand the extra off an then just Teflon tape the threads on the sensor to prevent any coolant seeping through $10 fix

You said you were going to put the cam specs in the description below ??
I love your truck I have a 71 sub and a 71 suburban that are getting the same color put on them
Great video, really enjoyed it. I had a similar intake manifold experience on my El Camino. Right out of the box, put the temp sensor in and it wouldn' get tight then I noticed it was cracked.
EBrocks are sooo eazy to crack.. Get a new one... hand tight (with HT/Copper RTV), then about 1/2 turn more. Let it seat/dry.
Hi from Texas, nice plates nice truck.
Great Video!! I also have my stand alone ignition system control not ran by holley unit but it always shows up on the handheld unit. Good deal I finally got mine installed on my 72 c10 ain’t drove mine yet to learn so hopefully everything goes good
Definitely use that msd 6A, you will love it
Pretty truck, young lady, and the snow:)
Man I’d gouge, weld, then buff that crack you’d never know it existed, BUT ease up on the gorilla tightening.
They should be able to weld that up with a tig welder

The temp sensor is pipe thread and is tapered for a seal. Typical of cast to crack in over-tightening; sorry to hear.
That's a nice truck I'm putting sniper efi on my 86
If u ever get around on the efi, make sure u get every detail documented...lmk i got an 85

BTW, I think it needs to know base timing for injection strategy.
wow cant believe texas gets that much snow.
i plan on doing the same sniper efi to my 68 olds. after i save some money! lol
YOU CAN HAVE THAT CRACK HELIARCED UP NO PROBLEM ! NICE CLEAN INSTALL JOB !
Performer rpm manifold. Check under the throttle linkage to see if maybe the bottom is hitting the manifold....
Any updates on the Sniper? Still going strong?

I had the same question
Turn the idle up to around 800!
What cam are you running on your BBC?
Love much the Truck.
Nice install, but any competent aluminum welder can repair that crack...
You didn't have to use the 10 pin connector at all. You could have just tied the yellow wire into the factory tach wire.. I know you installed this 2 years ago, but I just saw your video. lol
What are the specs on the cam you are using, thanks
What model comp cam is that? Sounds damn good.
I know this is an old video but do you know where you hooked your power wire up at? Is there a fuse in the fuse box that hot during crank and run?
Did you have to do anything different/special because you got a cam ?..I'm thinking about purchasing this Efi kit for my 91 cammed (not sure what cam it gots)Chevy.
at 5:00 min, O2 sensor seen hanging vertical. A significant DONT DO IT. Moisture accumulation is BAD!
Do you mean horizontal?

youre going to regret cutting those off.

Also I love the truck. I am planning on switch to the same Sniper EFI in the near future. Good luck with the swap.
Good call. Thanks for the tip. I'm green when it comes to carb linkages, etc.
Glad to help. Sorry to hear about the intake. I am running a RPM airgap also.

Your coil is in the HEI cap
Awesome!
If you still have the intake, I’m interested in buying it as is.
I do. Send me an email, and we can chat details. ghelfrick atsign hotmail dot com.
I’m using the edlebrock perform rpm air gap intake 7501 which spacer do you use? Dual plane four holes? About to tackle the sniper install!
I used the Canton 85-154 1/4" Thick 4-Hole Phenolic Carburetor Spacer

4 years post install of the Sniper. How do you like it?
I'm sad to say I've put few miles on the truck since the efi install. I did bring it to a performance shop, who custom tuned it and adjusted the timing, picking up about 25whp. WeThePeople408 i figure a spacer is a good idea to help mix fuel and insulate the sensors and computers from heat.
Hey man, did the handheld device ask for cam specs? Thanks
If I recall, it asked for the cam as 'mild, medium, aggressive'.
I have the same truck so hoping i wasnt making a big mistake
Have you had any issue with fuel going around corners or ramps
Sounds 👍
Hello
I just subscribed. What do you think of ego?
Also what fuel system return or return less?
Thanks Josh
The fuel system does require a return line. In my truck there was a factory return line into the gas tank which I was able to use with the Holley Sniper return hose.
I saw the slop in that throttle linkage in the first video. Get a better throttle cable bracket.
Nice fit. What do the numbers show. HP. TQ. Quarter mile.

What color code is your c10?
Do you have the cam specs on it?
Waiting on the 4th video did the 3/8 down to 1/4 as you return line cause issues?
I've not had any issues with the fuel system. The O2 sensor failed but that's about it.
Weld the crack and rethread. That CTS shouldnt have cracked it least you didnt put wheel nut torque to it.
does the truck have aluminum heads?
Yes. Edelbrock performer RPM, and intake. And a comp cam. 430hp/460tq on an engine dyno.
how loud is the fuel pump?
I can hear it when I prime it with the engine off. With the engine running, I can't hear anything :).
What color is that
Dark olive green. Factory color.
What motor?
402 big block with heads and cam.
