- Husqvarna launched a new professional battery saw for arborist. The top handle chainsaw T540i XP. Here is the first views of this new saw including a "look inside" and a cutting challenge with the petrol saw T540 XP. Read more at: nordicwoodjour...
Great video, really shows the capabilities of the saw! We recently got this chainsaw as well and were really impressed with the results!
Please separate the battery from the saw and hang it off the climbing harness, have a cord that attaches to the break away lanyard. This improvment would make the very tough job of leaning and reaching with a heavy saw easier! This would be a HUGE improvment over a gasoline powered saw.
Really? You cant handle an arborist chainsaw? 🥴😒

I happen to have 2 200ts and love them... but in an effort to improve things I'm saying make them lighter... if you dont have tendonitis you will. And it is directly related to drt, starting saws... and leaning out with weight. Wouldn't it be nice to have a markedly lighter saw.
@@tomplucknette5941 You can do this with their "Battery Belt Flexi" system. There's a variant called "Adapter kit" which does exactly what you described: Battery (or batteries) on the belt, and a short cable connects the saw with the battery through an empty battery-shell adaptor.
Thank you for the information... the flexi system looks interesting to say the least. I dont see anyone running the top handle saw? Do you operate one?
@@tomplucknette5941 Will receive mine next week. Planning to use for carpentry and timber framing, and some trail building where I have to carry my own equipment.
What kind of battery life is expected in on this saw's battery? Can the Bli 300 battery work in this saw?
Iv got the Stihl equivalent, Stihl need to up there game because I'll be getting these shortly!
Hello, have you tested the Husky 540iXP against Stihl MSA300?
My T535i died after being used in the rain. Husqvarna says "Don't get it wet". As long as this problem continues, its petrol if you want to make money... electric for fine weather only.
no duh. water and electricty don't mix
Who the fuck buys a saw for work that is as useless as a car with no roof in the rain?
good job, trying to make it look like the t540i xp is faster than the gasoline t540xp
good actors, but don't cheat for people who cut tons of wood a day
I guess it is also way easier to just refuel than to swap expensive batteries, right?
I just ordered a Huski 435T as my first saw and now I'm here binge-watching chainsaw-vids ;=)
My puppy took a shit on the garlic bread. When he saw this new saw. No body ate the bread.
How long dose the battry go for?
Thanks for this! Been searching everywhere for more info on this saw, even the official Husqvarna web page hasn’t provided as much information as this video...! How do you think it compares to the old T536/535i XP? And any idea why the handle vibration is so much higher than the 536/535? What is the new throttle safety handle/catch like to use?
I have no idea about the 540i XP/T54i XP compared with the 535 XP. But we will get our hands on a 540i XP ASAP and compare. The safety handle is very smooth and easy. Works more or less as the older version without the extra safety.
I heard from pleople who had opportunity to work with these new chainsaws, that they are stronger than previous battery 535i / T535i models. "40" in name "540i" means that they are in the same "power class" as 40 cc petrol chainsaws. Imagine what 550i XP and 560i XP will be able to do. ;-)
Does it have standard (same as gas units) throttle lock outs?
Demo'd a shitl and there's another button that has to be pressed as well and it's a pain. Didnt buy the Stihl because of that.
This one has a more "normal" throttle loch out, complarable with the gas saws and no button at the side of the rear handle.
@@skogsforum Awesome, thank you for the reply!
If a petrol cuts like that It’s blunt as fu#k
I’m fairly certain if you had a sharp blade on the gas powered saw, it would’ve smoked the battery powered.
Can we use the older batteries in this new saw? - If it were Stihl I know they would not make them interchangeable. HAha
Yes, I believe you can
It can be used but it will not deliver same power but still will work.
We have one at work and it doesn't last very long at all
I have the sthil 220 with best battery and maximum 30 minutes, is okay to have around the house but to go out into the woods is a joke
A bateria são pilhas comuns
Sharpen the chain🙄
He is tie-in 3 times 😩😫 hopefully we dont have to do that.
You mean SHE is 💃
Y’all have a dull blade that fuel saw
Calling it a blade, 'yall' really convince me of your subject knowledge
Nahovno aku pila to už rači elektrickou nebo ještě lepší motorovou.
