      Watching that punt I found myself muttering my usual response to dirty tricks when playing online "there's no need for that" it's a shame he had to resort to it but even in the replay you can see him let go of his line knowing you'd get bumped. Good race as always mate, shame about the end.

    Why don't they just have cars ghost the second they run out of fuel. That way they can't commit an error or be punted across the line. Problem solved. This driver, after watching you video a few times, clearly turned out into you.

      Sounds like a good idea but they should be allowed to take a defensive line to hold their position. Ghosting them means that other cars can drive straight through them rather than having to go around. The better solution is detecting, or peer reviewing dirty driving with either AI or a reports system. Both can be messy if not done well. It isn't an easy problem to fix.

    • @C42ST3N

    As a long time sim-racer, it's clear he ran into you. You don't make a mistake on the exit of that corner unless you're a total newbie and even then you'd have to be looking the wrong way.
    You were pushing him in the final stages so he's blaming you for him running out of fuel. Which is why he thinks you should have been punished. As you said, he's a dick.

    • @herberthans7015
      @herberthans7015 6 лет назад +4

      give him benefit of doubt then he's not at fault. it's obvious he didn't "turn into him" but he might have blocked his space / ran him off the road. thing is there's lift-off-oversteer in GTS, and despite what others said in this section you can clearly see the TC icon flash when he's barely turning, indicating he lost grip, combined with lift-off or ran-outta-fuel-oversteer I can clearly see him lose control for a fraction of a second and straightening the wheel to keep it on track, especially with this car. that's how you deal with oversteer and if someone is next to me and I'm not running TC or it's on setting 1 then shit might happen. if I don't straighten the wheel I might still crash into you. this comment section is very biased and I'd at least doubt his intentions and consider that the atenza he's driving has ridiculous/difficult oversteer, I was barely able to set decent laptimes without TC and regulary spun, so maybe we're just lacking some drivers who experienced the atenza gr.3 here. remember TC setting 1 does NOT keep you from spinning/traction loss under full throttle at ALL. TC 1 = serious throttle management, TC 2 = able to go full throttle most of the time as far as I'm concerned.
      TL;DR - I'll say the chances of this move being intentional are 25% and chances of him trying to recover from traction loss / lift-off-oversteer with a difficult-to-drive car are 75%. I'm an expert rammer, I had a >90% winrate in needforspeed and I got one of my triple digit wins by overtaking a guy doing a nitrous jump over the top of his car and landing in front of him during the last lap. so I know what I'm talking about and a flashing TC icon right before a move which can both be considered intention to ram or intention to keep control of his car leaves pleny of reasonable doubt.

    • @De-M-oN
      @De-M-oN 6 лет назад +1

      He ran out of fuel. rear tyres dont suddenly spin with no throttle applied to them. Even F1 cars dont spin their rear tyres if you ran out of fuel. No fuel - no power.
      And his tyres didnt spin. He had perfect grip.

    • @guybrodude6546

      @@herberthans7015 You can clearly see the front wheels of his car straiten and make a slight left movement. In the middle of a hard right turn, you have no reason to turn left unless you are on a dirt track or drifting. Running out of fuel also does not make the car turn into someone wearing shoes on ice either. He is a terrible driver and that alone is proven by the terrible and easy to manage fuel...

This guy could have done other things, but from experience, I do know that your car does something weird in Sport upon losing fuel. The normal drop in SR from a 4x crash should be sufficient. He's out of fuel, that much is obvious, as the car slows down, you don't 'lose control' when your car is slowing down as the RPM just drops. There's not power going to the wheels, if anything you'll have an excess of grip as the car does not have to fight the urge to go straight on, Quite the opposite he was in full control and deliberately Schumachered you and he should be ashamed of yourself. Everyone should block him immediately.

It was just a flick of the wrist :) If our driver was so all about sercuring the position, which was - in his opinion - clearly good enough... then why take the risk? Why trying to overtake this guy in the last second, when he clearly looked determined enough not to give up a position? Okay, an opportunity presented itself -> and our driver tried to live with the chance without hesitation -> so it's taking unnecessary risk. And it turned out bad.. It's a racing game for gods sake, what do you guys expect?? :D

    As a racing driver we do sometimes do things that are cheeky like a light tap or a nudge, pushing hard into a diminishing gap which forces the other driver either to brake or crash holding your balls as you do so because if his is as big as yours you both end up retired for the race.
    Every driver i have come across has that urge to win to bend the rules just enough to get that podium finish. Because if you don't have that competitiveness in you then you don't belong on the track.
    If you are going to cry because another driver retired you then you don't belong on a track.
    You knew you had more fuel and clearly the better driver, if you know you are better in all aspects of tire wear fuel and skill then you drop a gear and disappear leaving him sucking your exhaust gas especially on the last lap.
    You don't pressure the other driver to make a mistake potentially retiring him on the last lap if you are in a far superior situation to overtake and leave him behind.
    That's also a dick move. Keeping in mind this is from a perspective of real life racing, you don't endanger a rookie if you are the better driver, its a courtesy you allow rookies. You blow by them and lead them. Its much easier following a faster car than leading in a slower car being pressured from behind. That way they can watch you and learn and one day give you a run for your money.
    So to sum it up. You were both dick's, just one was bigger than the other.

    • @MichaelPohoreski
      @MichaelPohoreski 5 лет назад

      Francois Combrinck You can be competitive and still not be an asshole about it, go figure. It's called conduct / _good sportsmanship._ IMHO if you have to bend the rules to win then you don't deserve to win.
      _The better man lives by a code of honor._ If you can't be bothered to respect your "enemies" it is indicative you don't respect _yourself._
      Accidents happen; however _this bump was intentional_ **given his past driving record.**

    • @francoiscombrinck3884
      @francoiscombrinck3884 5 лет назад

      @@MichaelPohoreski you can be competitive without bending the rules yes. However in real life you have much more rules than on the game. For instance when you defend a spot from being overtaken you are allowed only 1 move per attack. Which means you are not allowed to swerve left and right blocking the car trying to pass. If you decide to block left and the car attacking goes right you have to let him pass. Now I've come across many a driver swerving left and right. That gives you full right to punt him off or wide in a turn and you don't get penalised by officials for it either. That's what i mean with bend the rules, you are not allowed to spin nudge or bump another driver off but if he is deliberately blocking you not following race rules and conduct you can bend the rules accordingly and nudge him.
      To be blunt if you take the high road and just stay behind someone not playing by the rules you will never win.
      I don't mean break the rules to win that's wrong. I mean bend the rules to deal with a driver not following them.
      So with your logic get the widest car stay in the center where no one can pass and hey you're a winner. You did not bump anyone or break the rules ie honorable victory lol.
      Do me a favour. Go out to a racing event listen and observe and you will realise 90% of race drivers are childish and all of them bend the rules. Of you don't they will punt you off, cut you off force you wide etc.
      Only in the very high end of racing like F1 do you actually have drivers playing fair just because they watch every move.
      On the lower end you deal with riffraff and in order to do so you need to bend the rules a bit. Sad as it is.

Punts you off to protect position while simultaneously putting himself directly in the path of the next car coming through, scoring a free nudge across the line. Two things; the fact he contrived and executed that little tactic so quickly is almost amazing in itself. Secondly, that's the way sociopaths think. It's either natural to him or at least a very well practiced mind-set. Haven't played racing games in a while, but still love motorsports. Can't believe I watched your entire video while I came here to research something else, even though I'm not big into RUclips. But your video caught my eye because I'm still a big race fan. The driver everyone is referring to as cheater did in fact lose control. Looks like he was conserving tires as well but the rear end broke traction just a bit, he nicely recovered but unfortunately you took the brunt of the impact taking the outside line. But impressive driving. Too bad you lost a few positions in the end. I was a bit disappointed myself, not because the other driver didn't cheat, but you had a good run that had a bit of unfortunate bad luck in the end. Good job though.
