the only local food vlogger, heck, the only real food vlogger that manages to capture the real essences of the dish and food that hes eaten. Thank you Alderic! keep doing videos like these.
Yaaaassss!!!! One of the best food vlogs I have stumbled upon on RUclips this year. Keep creating, Alderic! Will definitely look to your recommendations in my next visit to SG 😊
One of the best food vlogs on youtube hands down, nothing pretentious just stating the facts and will go to depths to confirm the ratings again and again, and a great food guide whenever I come back to Singapore ❤
Can't believe I have watched all the series and episodes all the way from the start of the year till now. And for you to come back to these places is so much nostalgia.
The ending commentary on the nasi lemak!! HIlarious but completely on point. Also as a viewer commented, re-reviewing the ratings just shows so much professionalism and makes your recs 100% trustworthy in a world where there is affliate marketing and whatnot! Plus, not commenting on the freebies and being this transparent is very commendable!! P.S: I enjoy your videos best when having my lunch break!!!!! Cant wait to see what 2025 brings! Cheers!
bro, thanks for being the best food sg youtuber in 2024 man. i was once a true believer of coconut club, starting from their good ol' days under original ownership at ann siang. during the nasi lemak series, i was rooting for them, and i was happy when they won the top prize, like seeing your football team win the cup. but my latest visit was just so flipping disappointing. the rice portion was small with broken grains all over, the sambal was cheap with 0 umami, the chicken was tiny and fried until the crust was bitter, and even the ikan billis was not even the same as what you had. the nonchalant service made it even worse, especially when the downstairs was half empty but i was made to sit outdoors. why should anyone gamble with $28 to risk a shitty experience? i used to think that $28 would guarantee quality ingredients, now my only guarantee is to save a few of these meals and take a trip to village park or JB's Coconut Valley instead.
Thank you! Yeah I definitely heard this account more than once. It was the main motivation behind this video actually. As much as I'd like to work something like "viewer's experience" into the rubric, I think it's more appropriate if I comment on my own experience. Next time I'll flag it up if there has been a lot of negative feedback. Thanks for letting me know anyway!
@@Alderic. totally understand you. you can only show what is in front of you. i myself had only kena the subpar version of this once after so many years. ultimately, i appreciate your sharing of all these new places worth a try too!
It was definitely a great year! Looking forward to the next year of videos, Alderic! Using the a Gitaroo Man track at the end gave me such a nostalgia trip for a bit lmao
100% agreed with your take on Brothers’ Jiro Tsukemen. It’s not a tsukemen. I was very excited when I saw it on the menu months back. It was exactly like you described - eating Jiro style ramen but with the noodles on the side. Loved the noodles, loved the Jiro style, loved the generous portions, love love love the price, but it wasn’t tsukemen. Maybe we’re just too used the regular style, because Jiro-style style tsukemen isn’t something common anyway. Well, at least I’ve never seen it in person in Japan. Finally, great work as usual and thank you for all the effort you put into your videos! Have a massive 2025 my dude!
Hey Alderic! Thanks for the content this 2024! Looking forward for more in 2025! Ps. If you like craft beer go try pink blossoms brewing.. they are a local brewery and their IPAs are amazing especially their rice IPAs
Time flies bro! HAPPY NEW YEAR YEA~ Great videos throughout 2024. Looking forward to more of your food adventures in 2025. Lowkey hoping more China series next year😂😂 I was rly impressed by the dim sum that i ate during my guangzhou trip so i can kinda related to what you meant by the vast difference in standards btwn SG and China. The food there literally SLAPS.
I think most people overlook the execution aspect of making a dish. The thought process, the cooking skill, the quality of ingredients. Most consumers just want that dish to taste good accordingly to their definition of good.
Thanks for creating good food content and recommendations to let your viewers know where to eat good food. Continue to post videos weekly next year, too. I am looking forward to hearing each of your best food recommendations!
Hey Alderic most shops normally offer hot water to pour with the remaining tsukumen broth so you can sip on it. You can adjust to your liking - just did that at Fuunji this week and it was a fantastic end 🙏
Oh Alderic, I wished you could try the Tsukemen I just had in osaka, recommended on Ghib Ojisan’s channel. It’s so good and the broth is so thick and intense. The noodles were probably the thickest, most chewy I have had, more than what it’s shown for brothers ramen. Hope u have a chance to try that tsukemen one day. *Tsukemen Ide honten*
wow will be damn awesome, gonna be a rabbit hole, got thai / malay / indian / chinese, etc more style etc, then maybe can fly to china for yang chow fried rice lmao
Actually used to get brothers ramen strong even with their old level of saltiness(even b4 your episode on it) so not sure if it'll be salty enough when I go again
Don't you think that Brothers Ramen's service is very slow? any Japanese ramen restaurant in Japan would serve the bowl in less than 15 mins. I got tired waiting for my bowl there
I think it's because they seat a lot of people so even though you finished queueing and got your table, you still have a lot of orders in front of you.
ok now we know, in order to get (proper) service at The Coconut Club and not get sneered at by their staff, bring a camera and film openly. went there 2x, got talked down to and received terrible service twice.
Must be you have a very guailan attitude yourself. The sarcastic tone of your comment pretty much confirms you must be a very difficult type of Karen customer already. 😂😂😂
@ suggest you go down coconut club and experience for yourself. Or maybe read their google reviews for a start first; I am not the first to experience this, neither will I be the last.
Not a fan of laksa, so I don't know how good Sungei Road Laksa is. Absolutely blown away by Brothers Ramen, I will say it's the best in Singapore. However, for Coconut Club, I still stand by my opinion, that you most likely got lucky (i.e. twice in a row). What I'm against is NOT the price, because I am willing to pay for good food. But I taste absolutely zero lemakness in the rice. But to be fair, I will give high points for the chicken, sambal etc. But the rice is just atrociously bad. I guess it's just lady luck for you. Or perhaps I visited them on a bad day, which means there is a consistency issue. Definitely won't return. But I must say, majority of your reviews are on point, and I really do enjoy all your series so far. Keep it up and looking forward to the next one!

Respect for sticking to your convictions about the nasi lemak. Only up from here as you roll into 2025!

thank you for the great work for the year!
Keep it strong for 2025!
It was definitely a great year! Looking forward to the next year of videos, Alderic!
Using the a Gitaroo Man track at the end gave me such a nostalgia trip for a bit lmao
omg you know about Gitaroo Man. good times.
Consistently excellent videos and content making Mondays worth looking forward to. Ready to see what 2025 brings on this channel.

Cant wait for the next series!

thanks for the support this year!
happy new year man. looking forward to more next year. any hints? :D
happy new year! hm hint, the workload per video is tripled haha
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Please do a series on the best prawn mee! Its my fav food ever, so i would love to find the best one in SG 😁
weekly enjoyment. here's to more ahead!
omg yeesss
Lol this is nothing major but the beer you had is Psychonaut by Overtone and not the other way around 😂
oh oops! thanks for letting me know!
Absolute cinema
Let's go!!!!!!
Hey Alderic most shops normally offer hot water to pour with the remaining tsukumen broth so you can sip on it. You can adjust to your liking - just did that at Fuunji this week and it was a fantastic end 🙏
yeah! soup wari or wari soup I believe.
(so jealous that you can have Fuunji btw)
my taste buds too heavy, i finished the fuunji dip on its own hahaah
@ haha thank you. There was no queue on Sunday 630pm 🤭
please do Udon Series next!!!

I hope so too, maybe one day, Best Ramen S2.
You know it’s good when Alderic is kinda turning away but yet staring at the dish, kinda frowning and yet smiling at the same time
Jiro!! That is the GOAT of ramen!! ❤
first, every Monday 9pm!
Had Coconut Club at half the price now when it first opened. Nice but will not have it anymore unfortunately.
Is Sungei Road Laksa temporarily closed? It says so on Google.
they are closed for a year-end break, reopens 2nd Jan!
next maybe do best fried rice
wow will be damn awesome, gonna be a rabbit hole, got thai / malay / indian / chinese, etc more style etc, then maybe can fly to china for yang chow fried rice lmao
Throughout the series, I always thought Alderic dislikes beer. He got me in the first 99.4% of 2024 ngl
Alderic is god. Love from an expat singaz white boy in Perth. Don't stop.
Do scissor cut curry rice series! 😁
waiting for cafe of the year award XD
I think unofficially, the most memorable cafe was the affogato at star vista. but also because it's the most niche.
Still camping for prawn noodles!
Actually used to get brothers ramen strong even with their old level of saltiness(even b4 your episode on it) so not sure if it'll be salty enough when I go again
CHONGQING CHONGQING CHONGQING!! Please go back there and let us know what else we can try!!
If the new series is some kind of game show that would be insane
Huat ah
No way Alderic would do the best Fried Fish Soup series right….. I mean isn’t it just water + fish
58 sec lesgo

@@dadade No thank you. Singapore Food is basically sh*t food compared to our Malaysia. 😂😂😂
Best white carrot cake
Maybe if you reach a milestone, like 100k or 1M subscribers, could you do a Best Fine Dining series?
oh I'm definitely doing that. but I don't want to rush there. I'll make sure I really know my basics before I attempt such a series.
@Alderic. Will definitely look forward to it. Happy new year and hope your channel grows exponentially!
Something special.......BEST YUSHENG?????? 1 MONTH TO TRY THEM ALL!!
Wa bro, you ate all these for lunch?
nope, shot across 2 days.
the beer costs more than the nasi lemak
most expensive pint I've ever bought I think.

damm brothers ramen is so good i miss it
Google says that Sungei Road Laksa is temporarily closed, is it true? Been wanting to try it :(
they're closed for the end-year! reopens 2nd Jan 2025
i finish my tsukemen broth all the time lol
wow, Alderic is 33, and his chinese name is so "formidable". it's like what a chinese emperor or general would call himself.
Did lianhe zao bao revealed ur true age bruh 😂
best salted egg chicken? :D
No.. just no..m nothing will EVER justify nasi lemak being above 10 dollars. Period
Alhamdulilah they should make Brothers Ramen to cater for Muslim too. Eating Pork is very unhealthy and not good for you ya? 🙂
end of year and we miss @bingsheng and @jiasheng in perth! jps rocks!
