You never know when someone with a "heart that is overwhelmed" may wander into your theater or onto your RUclips video. Thank you Sir Patrick, your (and Karl Paulnack's) talk helped me resolve my own dilemma.
Me putting this on loop becuase patrick stewart reminds me of my grandpa, who was my hero, and who i lost too soon in my life at a time when i needed him most he left me,not becasue he wanted too, but because sickness took him, after a year of watching my hero suffer every day, when i should have been finding myself, when i should have been finding love, and starting my own life, i sat with my grandpa watching him die slowly, helping to ease his pain as best i could..no one else would have done what i did, but people call me selfish for wanting my needs to be met.. if only they knew... Patrick Stewart, is but a shadow of a shadow of a comfort that i afford myself, my grandpa gave the best hugs in the world, i do not know Sir Patrick Stewart, nor do i know his embrace, i know his voice, his stories and his morality. His advices he can afford me, but only his voice can bring me comfort. I would give anything for one more hug from my papaw. Sir Patrick Stewart can not hug me.. i do not want his hug. Simply his voice brings me comfort where i can not receive said comfort from my grandpas embrace. I need more Sir Stewart in my life.. so i play this on loop.
The ending of this address has left me emotional, and perhaps a little bit taken apart in peculiar ways. Incredibly poetically said, and simply put for all minds to appreciate. The eloquent man doesn't need the last word so long as his words are true and precise.
Saying this speech was fantastic is putting it mildly. The way he talked about everything.... I think this is one of those videos I will be coming back to on a daily basis for the next half of a year.
What i see here, is a very thankful man, who has used all the chances, that had been given to him. A man who stands for humor, kindness and hard work. There will be no doubt, that acting or any other kind of art which is done really well and ment true, is hard work! He tells you a story and on the way he is teaching you life lessons! Making it so!
First, I could listen to this man read the phone book. And second, this is a man who (after you're done being star-struck) you would feel perfectly comfortable having dinner with.
Thanks to you & Oxford Union for this event. To listen to you speak so precisely, animatedly, poetically & emotionally has me appreciating you the gazillionth time, I think 🤔. Sir, I wish you immortality. Big fan!
anyone else pick these completely based on people's voices: I could listen to Freeman, Stewar , Baldwin . or Mckellin talk forever if just rambling radom phonetic sounds
Great actor, love your work, Pat, but you simply must update your domestic violence numbers. Males are by far the victims of DV, even if you forget about mothers beating their infant sons. Serious unilateral injury inflicted between adult males and adult females in the home is now over 40% male victimization. Allowing and ignoring moms brutalizing young males will or will not lead to these males being violent when they grow up? IDK, you tell me. BTW, I'm including these remarks here because Pat's DV vids disabled the comments. I'm sure a fine educational institution like Oxford doesn't mind the truth leaking out.
+A Koala with Shades Here are Canadian statistics for 2014. They do not agree with the original posters statement, though they do show that there isn't a vast gap in abuse between the genders. The report also states that 70% of violence goes unreported, just something to keep in mind. www.statcan.gc.ca/daily-quotidien/160121/dq160121b-eng.htm
+A Koala with Shades Though I should mention that men were far more likely to threaten their partner with a weapon than women, and women were far more likely to hit their partner with an object of some kind. I don't think this issue should be handled as a gendered issue overall, but more as a family matter. How to do that, I have no idea.

+Sublime Music Channel how could you possibly complain about over exposure of a man of such staggering character and entertaining charm? good lord, when most of our tv is crap like the kardashians, you're saying there's too much patrick stewart? there should be a patrick stewart CHANNEL.
Was this supposed to be serious?! There are literally 7 billion alternatives to the Kardashians on this earth--not that very many of them compare with Patrick Stewart, obviously--but that doesn't mean every time I go to the bathroom I want to see him or anyone else standing there. I don't enjoy seeing MYSELF each and every time I turn around so clearly no one else is going to rate highly enough that their face and certainly terrific acting ability are all I ever get to watch in every damned production of anything I see in the last 10 years, it feels like. I would PAY him to scale it back.
Sublime Music Channel ...clearly we have not had the same experiences where he is concerned. I have certainly not seen so much of him. Are you british? Does he get more attention over there? jealous.
Amazing! I could listen to that rich, baritone, English voice all day long, speaking about anything! AAhh!

Star Trek is a religion. We can use technology. We can even love technology. But we must not _worship_ it.
Get yourself in amateur productions, and who knows what you could become of you,a peacock or a pigeon or a flea or a tiny atom...
Damn.... I'm moved... like moved farther than the earth has since the beginning of the solar system-

Oh, and BTW, in 54% of all husband/wife or bf/gf murders, she's the one who murders him.
