HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 7 авг 2024
- Since we're in lockdown I thought I'd do another long video to help you all kill a bit of time. This is all about cold hardy winter mushrooms that you might be able to find right now while out on your exercise...

This channel is so unbelievably underrated
Because man made food is prompted more even though they are bad for you containing starch and acid. There is a old saying you can live to eat or eat to live.
Now how do you know that fella?
Best foraging channel on RUclips by far.
Agreed x
I believe you!
I even don't like mushrooms, but I watching with pleasure.
I love your video & happy I found you; even though I'm in the USA.
I would like to go for a pint with this guy. Boss content!
Congratulations on your new baby!
straight up" no nonsense" no bells an whistles" no setting the scence with music and prose," just an absolutly superb presentation, a breath of freash air, not bullshit. simply awesome"" thankyou, i carnt get enough, top class" MINT" cheers
I really love mushroom foraging:)
Yes, it's excellently presented, I'm learning lots of extra tips from him
Thanks for the video, even in lockdown
At 6:50 it calls “wood ears”, in the south of China it rains a lot. We could find it everywhere. So for the older generations saying not good not safe to eat fresh wood ears. Some people got the allergy or toxic when they cooked it fresh. We always drying it first, then cook it later for safety.
I miss taking my grandsons out on mushrooms hunts as they are now at the age where I was when I joined the army. So much free food is right under our noses and its better than what you get in the shops.
Super useful and informative video Milo. Thankyou
Hi Marlow. First time to comment on your channel. Have been watching your vids for a while. You don't post videos that often. When I saw it was a 40 minute plus video I was happy. Love the vids and the baby. Cheers
I love the texture of wood ears.
"dyou want to wear her"? "no, cause thatd be just weird" made me laugh so so hard. wonderful touch at the end. thanks for all the amazing videos.
I’ve never committed on anyone’s videos before but I wanted to thank you for growing my interest and expand my knowledge of mushrooms. As a gardener I’m embarrassed not knowing the fungi that I find growing around me. When I found your videos last summer I delved in and for the first time ever, this past November, had the courage to try my first wild mushroom. So THANK YOU for this and all of your videos was what I really wanted to say, that are very much appreciated.I may even have to treat myself to a copy of your book as you promoted it so well. 😉 ps the mushroom I tried was a velvet shank 👍 looking forward to the next video.
Fungi is the fun guy. Mycelium is the 5g without the electronic alphabet. Fungi is the god material. The missing link if you will. The alpha and omegs. The fungi giveth and taketh. No joke. Mould is fungi. God is mycelium.
Without mycelium there is no cycle. Mushrooms create much room
Singular over collective hence mycelium not wecylium.
Individualism over socialism. Nothing created for society was done because everyone contributed. The craziest fools made us better. Aka Tesla. Aka. Plato. Aka. Trump. Biden won because Trump was hated more. Im english and trump made me lovr the usa because of the freedom it brings. Otherwise
..
@@ibexdnb2879 bro you good?
The velvet shanks look so pretty. The woods look nice.

Great video! Looking forward to foraging this weekend :)
Thanks so much for such a practical guide for safe and tasty mushrooms for beginners to find! Have been looking for ages for something that's simple and clear enough for me to feel confident about going out to forage for mushrooms!
Another fantastic video and so great to hear the little one's cameo at the end! Thanks for all the information in here! Can't wait to get out there and find some blewits and wax caps now ....
Thank you so much for your brilliant videos. You have a really lovely style of delivery and the amount of information is perfect. I've been a keen forager for many years and wish I'd come across your videos / book years ago!!!
Hey Marlo this is Joe from London Ontario, Canada. I am an avid forager and I conduct foraging tours in my area. I just want to say how much I appreciate your channel and website. I wish that there was more content of this calibre on RUclips . It is interesting, accurate and entertaining, and I watch every video that you put out. I have especially enjoyed the longer videos that you release monthly. Hope you keep them coming and keep up the great work!
I love watching your videos, I’m new to foraging and your videos are super helpful 👍🏻
Amazing video, informative and entertaining.
I just purchased your book. Love love love your videos. I'm in Northern Ireland and live beside a huge forest. It's like a treasure hunt then get back home and identify what I've gathered. Can't wait to get your book! Thank you
Thank you so much for this video, very informative and inspiring for going out looking for mushrooms in places I wouldn't think to go to. I got your foraging book last week too, which it's brilliant!
Too scary that I would screw up!
@@LarryPeteet me too at the moment but there’s a few that you can’t mistake I’m beginning too learn
Lovely teacher and daddy
I've been foraging up in Scotland and managed to find amazing velvet shank and oysters entirely frozen in ice. I picked a hand-full of each and I'm keeping them frozen to display for a bit :)
Oooh. What part are you in? Planning first winter forage atm, but damn lockdown!
@@user-jl8io3ik5y I turf around the country parks south of glasgow, there are very very few mycologists out there and everyone else avoids mushrooms so much that you can find them untouched next to foot paths
I try not to pick everything i find right by paths sometimes because they are so lovely to look at, but since i go foraging out of the way deeper into the woods i am more liberal about picking what i see.
Brilliant video, really enjoyed it! Very informative for anyone who isn't very confident about identifying mushrooms, made me want to get out and explore :) thank you!
This is phenomenal content.
Thank you. I'm learning more and more.
Another great video!
Thank you for this amazingly informative video from a new forager here 👋🏼 really appreciate it. I’m looking forward to tomorrow even more so now… 🤞🏼on some great finds 👌🏼
I just loved this video. So interesting and informative. Been on a couple of your foraging courses and differently recommended them. Cheers Marlow.
My local police station has a lovely ring of field blewits come up in its grounds every year. Theyre quite common even along roadside verges in my town
I absolutely love your I d videos
Ahh, the second ending to this video makes it really special
Awesome video thanks for sharing the knowledge
Just discovered your video's. Thank you so much for making them. Also loved the outtakes! :D
Great video, and a really beautiful mushroom. Ive just started learning more about fungi,so thanks for this video. Subscribed. Look forward to watching more,as i try to grow my very limited knowledge.
Those waxcaps are huge! Found my first C. militaris this year 👍 looking forward to the next one guys!
Brilliant as always, Marlow! I've been looking for blewits many times these past months and haven't found a single one! :(
I've been finding tons of meadow waxcaps here in the peak District though!
@@mrnosy1 We've not seen as many blewits as normal in Herefordshire this year, but they have been there. Meadows have had a great year, found another patch yesterday myself :)
Got the book for Christmas and I love it. As a novice I find it super accessible and interesting. I really like the little snippets of history and folklore scattered throughout. Thanks for the youtube content too. By the way I hope you didn't leave your daughter hanging in a tree...lol
Thanks :) Bonnie loves hanging around in trees :)... We got her to sleep after the first failed efforts.
Might be a weird thing to say but we share a name and both got the book for Christmas, good luck foraging! :)
@@elliotodell9939 Thanks, good luck to you too
Thanks alot I loved yours videos sharing about mushrooms
Very informative and it's amazing how few people actually go foraging for mushrooms. I am a Brit who lives in Austria and I often go out foraging for mushrooms. I used to go out with my grandfather as a boy and our favorite were field mushrooms, horse mushrooms and Parasol mushrooms. The most common mushrooms we have here in the area I live in are various Boletus mushrooms including Boletus Edilus and loads of parasol mushrooms. Though this year I only found one parasol. I must have found over 40 Kilos of various Boletus this year, including 11 Kg in one 2 hours foraging session.
Amazing channel. Just getting into foraging and bought your book. It's really interesting and I'm noticing things I would normally have walked past!
Thank you very much! I really enjoyed watching. I learned a lot. Just finished a delicious plate of Meadow Wax Caps. There’s so many here around me in Cornwall, I live on the moors :)
Oh baba baba dabba. Love it, and the channel.
