The old sr50 with piaggio ditech engine is quite rare.

Well you can always derestrict it yourself, there’s also a trick for the ecu

@@everythingbro4786 I will check the ecu with my interface and will also take the variomatic apart anyway so I will see if its restricted or not

I wish it was 12 degrees, I would be riding my ditech with a smile on my face. Instead it's still snowing and -5 at the moment :D Spring is late.
I still haven't manage to find that original, derestricted pipe for the 2000 Runner 50DD and I've been searching and asking vendors quite alot. Many of them list that partnumber still and they think they can get it form the Piaggio and thats why they say "yeah we can get it" and after a week comes another e-mail saying: "sorry, we can't get it, cos it's no longer in production". No shit it is'nt! :)
I've been also searching if there is an official Piaggio/Gilera guide to derestrict settings after replacing the restricted pipe for a 12mm carb but have not find anything. What jets, what needle, what variator weights etc. but seems there isn't one? Have you found one or what changes did you made to the carb and variator after fitting that de-restricted pipe of yours?
I did find the original workshop manual and spare parts catalogue from ebay.
I believe that Piaggio made an engine manual for the hi-per 2 engine but I have not found one yet in english. I would like to get my hands on that. There is one on ebay that's sale in France. I will not post a link here, otherwise my message won't get thru but if you like, you can search it. ebay id is: 304508387093 Piaggio Vespa Gilera 50 Engine Workshop Manual Review Tecnical, 45,99e. est is also auf deutch.
I can't seem to find any info on that book either, my concern is that it is for AC only, not LC.
Also I managed to find an OEM battery lid, cost me 50e and the transportation company lost it.

absolutely, spring is late this year. Last year I was already riding my bike in march. As for the pipe keep on searching and I am sure you will find one. I have actually put back the restictred pipe on the runner again for testing. I want to check how th engine behaves with the 17,5mm carb with the restricted pipe and the 5g rolls. After that I will change the setup and compare the results. I am sorry that the shipping company lost your parcel. Was it insured ? if so you can get your money back.

@@petesgarage4670 Oh thats interesting. Can't wait for the results. You still have the original 12mm carb for it? Would be nice to know the difference since I have an aprilia sr with 17,5mm carb and it seems that the 12mm is quicker of the line, its more responsive, alltho I have had not the time to do proper testing but im pretty sure I want to fully derestrict it with that 12mm carb and maybe Sito plus pipe. That way I can keep the stock look and also the stock pipe untouched.
I should get my money back, alltho I was more interested of the battery lid, orginal, NOS parts are hard to come by these days.
