You are the fastest v8 ski rider on the planet. I hope you can survive the autograph lines! I bet Fusion 360 will be nice. The CAD looks sweet and the CAM is probably the perfect thing for what your are doing. It will be interesting to see how it goes for you!
Haha... Oddly, not autograph requests YET... I enjoy using Fusion 360... It is challenging, but I enjoy it. I am nervous to get into the CAM side of things, but I will be starting off small and learning it as I go. Yes... very interesting to see how it goes.
If you're saying it's bonkers, it's gotta be nuts! Very cool experience for you. So excited about the mill project though. Looking forward to the shenanigans that machines going to get you into!
Haha... Yeah. I was actually thinking that. I hate to say it but the Turbo V8 makes my ski seem lethargic. When I get back on mine I still think "oh man, this is quick !!" but the V8 is next level quick and it's not even fully tuned.
My ski is impressive say 10 - 45 mph, the V8 is impressive 20 - 70. It would have been interesting and slightly silly to line the up to show the difference, but it didn't happen this year.
Also, yes.. It will be very interesting to see what I get up to with the mill. I started designing a hood hinge for the X2 last evening. Trying to spend some time in Fusion getting used to it.

A good advice once it starts bouncing at speed let off throttle it will throw you out
Try the pump pressure valve it releases the pressure in the pump
We used to used them in the RXP and RXT

Yes, coming off a watercraft stops being fun after about 40 miles an hour... after that, it starts to get painful. I don't want to imagine falling off at 90 mph.
Josh had installed a restrictor in the cooling lines last year as the excess pressure was causing the gearbox cooling to leak constantly. After a total redesign, this spring, I believe he removed all restrictions, but I can see how one may be advisable.
If they didn't break, I wouldn't find them interesting, haha. Half of the fun is fixing and improving things for next time.
Definitely need a pressure gauge on that water line, at least then you could see you have water pressure… I’d also consider SS hard lines, or even some an lines that won’t come off… excited to see what u have planned for the cnc thing! Hopefully your able to produce some cool parts to get enough income for other projects!!!!!
Yeah... Josh was talking about AN fittings / lines on the cooling system, but the cooling system on this ski is really something else... There's a lot of line, a lot of splitters, fittings etc. The engine and gearbox are cooled separately from the exhaust components, so that's one line to each bank and one line to the gearbox, and then the outlet lines. The exhaust manifolds have a feed line each, one for the turbo and then I believe one for the waste gate... and then of course outlet lines... all packed in a very tight space.
In the end I'm guessing he will have to so something different, as it's almost certain to overheat at some point, and when it does, you don't want it cooking your cooling lines.
Yeah, I'm excited for the CNC as well. I have a feeling that I will get lots of great ideas from viewers on bits and pieces that I can build .. and I already have some ideas ... when it is up and running... and I figure out how to use it, haha. "income for other projects" 🤟
Hi mate, looks crazy fast, but how heavy is the ski.. Does it bounce around with the choppy water, or does it punch straight through the waves, keep having fun wish I was there, cheers
Hey Adrian. The FZR is a heavy ski in stock form. About 920 pounds (420kg). It likely weighs about 1200 pounds (540kg) now. The hull handles the waves pretty well, but when you start going fast, it stops punching through and starts bouncing around.
What is the base unit you started with please?
The hull is from a Yamaha WaveRunner FZR. It originally came with a 1.8L supercharged engine. This is not my ski so I don't know all the details.

@@ebarton1475Haha... Yeah... Not everyone has a long enough attention span form my content. I personally find shorts gross. Effective, but a plague. This is probably just because they expose my weakness of having zero self control ... After I get stuck watching shorts for like an hour... I always come out the other side feel just a little like I have been raped, lol.
