      Thank you! That's a hard one, I don't own a P5/10 but I really want one. I would say this is more like a Moog Poly, as the filter is a ladder. I compared it to the P6 recently, check that: ruclips.net/video/YfORG9mXeZA/видео.htmlsi=fAVzNquKTztwhzwq

    How would you say this compares to the OB-X8?

    • @MilesAwayOfficial
      @MilesAwayOfficial  10 месяцев назад +1

      Great question. Both are the two most wild/raw sounding polysynths I own. OBX8 filter and envelopes are more pretty and well tuned, whereas the GS E7 is more finnicky but has a real mojo and genuine vintage vibe to it.
      I'd say that the E7 could be the perfect all arounder synth as long as you really like the vintage tone and don't mind unprecise filter tracking, whereas the OBX8 really wants to do Oberheim stuff but can do it flawlessly, either vintage OB sounds or more modern OB sounds. I use both about equally, but I use my OB-6 more than both.

    • @MrAndyZhu
      @MrAndyZhu 10 месяцев назад

      @@MilesAwayOfficial Thanks for that info. I currently own the OB-X8 and also really love the sounds coming from this E7 but wasn't sure if it would be too identical sonically. My guess is that I wouldn't be missing out too much without the E7. Love your work btw!

  • @Octaveplex
    @Octaveplex 3 месяца назад

    Great demo, thanks for not explaining how many vco's it has. There aren't many polys with a ladder filter, but now the Muse has come along. I was thinking of getting one because i haven't had that sound since i had a memory moog a long time ago, but this might work. And much cheaper and takes up less space.

    • @MilesAwayOfficial
      @MilesAwayOfficial  3 месяца назад

      The muse and trigon definitely compete with this, but this is cheaper and has amazing build quality. The effects on the Muse look much better though

    This or Prologue? Which does 80s pads and stabs better?

    • @MilesAwayOfficial
      @MilesAwayOfficial  5 месяцев назад +1

      This sounds better in terms of raw tone, but Prologue has a more unique palette with the digital osc into the MS20 style filter. This is like nostalgic 80s, Prologue is like dystopian 80s.

    Maybe it's a silly question/comparison, but: Would it make sense to describe the E7 as a Nymphes on steroids? The E7 seems to have a similarly vibe-y raw sound like the Nymphes or vice versa. I got a Nymphes, also because of your video about it, and I love its sound (though not its UI).

    • @MilesAwayOfficial
      @MilesAwayOfficial  6 месяцев назад +1

      Great assessment! They really are similar in terms of wild sound, but the filter is different. I actually prefer the Nymphes filter tbh, but I agree you can't beat a knob per function workflow. Probably safe you would like this if you like Nymphes.

    • @stefanherzog
      @stefanherzog 6 месяцев назад

      @@MilesAwayOfficial thanks for your thoughts on this! Tradeoffs, tradeoffs... Better filter, more modulation options (?), very compact/portable, cheaper, ... vs. one more voice, much better UI, stereo goodness, multitimbral, ... How do you find using the two? Or, which do you use more for what? Will you keep the Nymphes just for the filter?
      I've been contemplating getting an Electra One controller for the Nymphes (and other gear) that would get me closer to knob per function.
