    Hi everyone.. I'm a rocket guy who wants to expand to trains.. this is my first build..I have a 26x26" square table I want to make into an "n" layout.. any ideas if I will be able to make it change elevation for a trestle or car bridge in that amount of space?

    • @StevesTrains
      @StevesTrains  Год назад +4

      It is possible if you keep the train short and the locomotive and rolling stock short. So, short 4-axle locomotives and 50’ or shorter scale foot rolling stock. If you plan to have the track loop up and over itself (kind of a twice around with the track passing over itself, like a folded figure 8, the grades will be pretty steep. You might need to short locomotives to help pull a train up and over in that space if you have more than a few cars. You can do what you want in that space, but just have to make some compromises. Check out what Peter Walfraff has done with some of his small layouts like this one: ruclips.net/video/UCEZvondDRM/видео.html

    What kind of glue do you use to keep your ballast together without loosing the electric connection with the track?

    • @StevesTrains
      @StevesTrains  7 месяцев назад +1

      I usually used diluted matte medium. But, I also solder some rail joints and use a lot of feeders on most projects (except simple loops where I usually just solder connections) to help prevent that being an issue.
