Hi Chris. Greetings from Asheville NC. I'm a recent retiree from a middle management job. I don't normally comment on channels, but this time I have to. I have enjoyed your channel for a couple of years. I enjoy your content so much. It has become one of my most favorite channels. I can't wait for each and every post. You capture our imaginations and dreams of our youth. We d love to be doing what you do every day. Thank you for your work ethics, professionalism, skill and unwavering demand for quality. Thank you for coming to western nc and helping to recover. My family wishes your family a very merry Christmas and a happy, healthy, and blessed New Year. God bless you in all you do. Keep up the great work.

Robert is a great dozer operator too, and is an incredible asset to Chris's business. I've been in/and around construction, as a laborer and as an operator, for nearly my entire life. My dad owned 3 backhoes when I was born, and learned to operate them by the time I was 5-7. I've worked with many laborers, operators, and mechanics over the years. And Robert is top tier in all of those. He's perceptive, and takes initiative. I wish there were more guys like him!

Chriss you also need to strip clean callipers and reseal replace pistons if pitted, check all the brake pads and you have a rim lock missing on front L/H rim. Check the A-frame bushings strain the bush and check for cracks in the rubber bushings, check the steering cylinders pins for wear also. New type has grease nipples in them.
Check the skip rubber pads and reshim the front ones if necessary. Did a lot on these in my day.

Merry Christmas from Perth, Western Australia, I know what I'm going to suggest will be low on the priority list, but you need a fully enclosed workshop with reverse cycle air conditioning. Just imagine it's raining, blowing a gale and you have to service Barny or what ever, there you are, in a nice dry, warm shop. Something to dream about anyway.

find you an air tank that has a 3/8 or 1/2 inch outlet, put a short 1/2 inch hose from the tank to your big air gun. hook your small hose to the tank.. the tank will give you the necessary volume to run the impact in short durations. the bigger the tank the better. thread the 1/2” directly to the tank or use large couplers.

Specific Gravity of a battery cell is 2.2 since 12 V battery has 6 that is specific gravity of a 12V battery is 13.2 = fully charged. So a 24V system as labeled charging at 27V is well within spec to charge a battery set to 26.4V

A cheat you can use with that compressor on your fuel trailer and the big impact is to use a second large tank close to the impact as an accumulator, then you can get away with a shorter ½" hose to the impact.
You can also parallel 2 ⅜ hoses for about the same flow, but ½" is handier.

Chris and Robert you guys working so hard getting everything done. Dang Chris with the price of parts that is unbelievable. Can't believe how quick you replaced the tire, up, in and on. Perfection. Ok Chris go to the Doc in the Box and get some good meds. Need to be well before Christmas. Take care. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2025.
    Enjoyed the video. Thanks.

    Hello Chris,
This is a two person field repair on a piece of heavy equipment. It's hard to do in a shop with cement floors. You and Robert pulled it off while coping with a cold climate and hampered by "A man flu". Congrats man.

New dump starts right up on a cool morning, no smoke 20% more capacity than other Bubba Dump haul truck, life's good. Minor almost maintenance issues. My advice is to paint and make it look new again as this will represent your company for as long as you have it at your jobsites. It's human nature to treat a nice looking piece of equipment better. Merry Xmas to the entire group and their families at Letsdig18. Ray

Chris/Robert great work and Merry Christmas, Chris this reminds me of this exact work i use to do about 45 years ago in my early 20's building the largest Versatile Farm tractors, axles and transmissions , believe it or not the transmissions were worse to do you hand to remove everything in the cab including the roof to get the transmission out ,so I'd much rather do axles repairs any day of the week and we removed the tires like you did except we used a forklift instead of a skid steer , then spin the tire with the forks to line up the studs, great video ,I look forward to this truck at work, I have been a Volvo owner driver almost 44 years, cars and a bit of heavy equipment spins when i worked for Volvo Canada back in the late 80's for a couple of years, yes I'm as old as dirt👍🎄
