Good luck to you my friend! It's good to see a young guy with his head screwed on straight being successful!! Always a pleasure to watch you and your Dad, Mother, Brothers and Wife. Thanks for taking us on your journey.
I really enjoyed seeing how careful and thoughtful you were while using the winch. Stressing the danger of that kind of work helps us all to be safer. Continue to educate us with your first hand knowledge. Thank you so much!
I loved the pride that you have with your new acquisition. I definitely want to see what you do with it from here on out.
Thank you for all the awesome content that you provided us throughout the year. Aaron, you are definitely on your way. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Be safe, and God bless.
Merry Christmas to all of you keep doing the great videos you put out
**THANK YOU FOR THE YEAR OF AWESOME VIDEOS**
Merry Christmas. Happy, healthy, prosperous, blessed, and wonderful New Year.
A very blessed Christmas to all of you.
100% steel weights. In the long run you’ll be glad you did. Fluid is a pain in the butt any time you need to do anything with a tire. If you have a fluid leak on a tire that money is gone. Steel weights will never disappear. With weights you can also add or remove weight whenever you want. ‘Do it right or do it twice’
I came here to the comment section to say exactly that.
a friend lost one of my 100 lb kubota weights while raking hay and never could find it, pretty sure it didn't go through the baler
Plus it squats the tires so you get more for your weight
@@terryquaintance3634 so the bolts either broke or came loose. That’s a lack of maintenance, not a flaw of the weight.
@@chrisoliver9204. So did I. I don’t have a tire on the farm with fluid anymore. Calcium was the thing for a long time and there was a lot of wheels ruined over time.
Merry Christmas to all of the Gierok Family I can just picture the young Gierok brothers sledding in the hills and then Ma or Pa ringing a good cowbell to call them back in for chores.
One of my favorite channels! Looking forward to the upgrade installs! Beautiful tractor too. I milked cows while I was in college for some extra cash. The farmer had the same tractor. I hauled many loads of grain to the elevator in that thing.
Aaron been watching your show now for a while got to say I like the content and way it's delivered your dad is very knowledgeable and he explains things well I really do like your channel.
Always been a big fan of Cummins engines in off-highway equipment, became a great replacement when Detroit Diesels were fading away. Small tip: I always pour the bottle in first, then pour in fuel. Mixes better I think. Now all diesels have return lines so when the engine is running some fuel is returning to the tank, thus mixing that way. That is one of many reasons that most guys let a diesel idle, some warmer fuel returns to the tank. You guys do a great job keeping all those machines well maintained.
Certainly idle indeed. We had many customers not properly flushing the fuel system resulting in clogged filters, bends,... I do climate tests on off highway stuff. Way different engines then what you use. Engines we tested are mostly of Scania, Volvo, FPT make but also some Cummins and CAT.
Nice video Aaron and Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Just subscribed. Your dad is an amazing person. His moral and ethic shine through. The world could take lessons.
We have switched all of our tires over to windshield washer fluid. You can get the consontrait and mix with water and it is a verry economical way to go
It's always a plus to equip a tractor the way you prefer. Once you get through the initial modifications actual field use and experience will determine further upgrades. Merry Christmas to ALL of you folks.
Power service has been around at least 45 years that I know of, outstanding product .
I like to add fuel condishner on a half tank of fuel then fill it up.
Those fuel additives get mixed in better if they are added before the fuel.. thanks for the post and merry Christmas
Sea Foam does it all.
Have a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year !!!
Merry Christmas to you and the whole family!
Thanks. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Merry Christmas 🎁Aaron and family. Have a great Christmas.
Hey Aaron, you might want to look at those dual hubs, the key way looks to fit the older IH tractors the 66,86,88 series. The Magnum series uses a taper lock hub with a different key way. We couldn’t use those style on our 7120. Nice tractor!
Ibi thank you for sharing your videos and time with us all. I wish you all a very merry Christmas and a very happy new year. Take care god bless
Merry Christmas to the entire family
Wheel weights for sure. They won’t disappear!
Merry Christmas to all of you and family Bud from Ontario Canada
Merry Christmas. All the best 🇬🇧.
MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM CENTRAL MINNESOTA KEEP UP THE GREAT VIDEOS
With extra weights and duels, that will make a good bunker silage packer
I took the fluid out of my 7120 and put duels on it. You won’t need fluid. The best thing is that it will walk through wet ground better. In fact I never got it stuck. My son though was more daring and did. Put weights on the front as well.
Merry Christmas to you and your family
I used to have a trailer like that. Then i traded it for a gooseneck because i was tired of everyone borrowing it lol. Solved that problem real quick
Yea that size trailer is very handy! Because it’s half ton friendly and also strong enough to haul heavy like small equipment if needed !
Flatter country there where you went to get the tires !, Merry Christmas!
My dad and i have been to that ASAP Downing salvage yard. I don't know if they still allow it but they would let you walk around the salvage yard and look for the parts were looking for. It was fun to see all the old tractors and equipment .
We used windshield washer fluid to fill our tires. Bought 4 55 gallon barrels from Napa for pretty cheap and haven’t had any issues. Used a 110v pump and a bleeder valve to fill them.
Merry Christmas! Thank you for all the great videos!
Down south in ms. Just a few gallons antifreeze and water .
Merry Christmas to you and your family and a happy new year
7140 started a lot better than my 5140 with the 5,9 cummins does, Congratulations on the Magnum.very pretty tractor! I can tell your proud and you should be!
If your 5.9 Cummins isn't starting good it needs a fuel system overhaul or its down in compression or the starter is weak . I had 5 maxxums over the years one got to 16,000 hours still started before the engine rolled over on the starter one trip
@@Otherrandomguy42 I think its fuel system issues. tractor uses no oil and runs perfect when started, but its been hard starting since ive had it,and impossible to start when the motors warm.
Great video. I always enjoy tractor upgrades. Have a blessed Christmas 🎄
I would recommend wheel weights instead of any type of fluid in any tires.... Thanks for the video
Merry Christmas 🎁
Happy Christmas from Ireland
I use beet juice and have been fortunate to have not had any problems over a period of 15 years. Rims still look like new. You should be able to save most fluids is a leak does occurs by parking with the leak area on top of the parked tire. Good luck and happy holidays to you and your family.
Absolutely love the 7810 and the 7510. My favorite series of tractors, I've got a 7810 also and it's my favorite tractor ever. Merry Christmas
They have some beautiful tractors, very clean. Can't beat a 10 series!
Thanks for sharing Aaron. Can't wait to see the new additions to the 7120. If you have the tools for the liquid id use that but wheel weights are nice in the fact that you don't have to worry about a leak in the tire. I have fluid in my rear tractor tires on my 85hp Kubota.
Use to have a case 730 case diesel comfort king . That thing was cold blooded. Lower than 50 degrees she struggled but made a great smoke show. Dad, had calcium on one tractor he kept back from the machinery auction. But took them out that was starting to rust out the one of the rims. An almost damage inner tube.
thank you
Antifreeze/windshield-washing fluid is cheapest, although not as heavy as beet juice. Stay away from chloride! Always enjoy your videos.
Merry Christmas to the Gierok family!!
❤😊HAVE FUN PUTTING ALL THE STUFF ON THE TRACTOR ❤😊
We use washer fluid here in Ohio. We run both our 1086 has 110 gal washer fluid in each rear tire and two hundred pound weights hanging and a full front rack
Merry Christmas !
You can haul round bales with that trailer.
Have a merry Christmas
i use dsl service i also do away with calcium iron only now good luck with you,re new tractor merry christmas to you all
Merry Christmas my friend and be safe
Enjoy the videos! Merry Christmas!
We have Always Ran Fluid in our Tires & Then we had a Flat an lost the fluid so we did not put any back in Untill We Tried to Use it Again & It Would Not Pull Nothing With out Spinning The Tire ! So For Us in These Hills & Hollers Of Eastern KY It Is A Must Have !O & MERRY CHRISTMAS !
I sure miss those views. Farms, fields, sky.
Methanol antifreeze is what we use, at a ratio of 6:1 water/methanol. That’s in central Virginia, though, so you might need a stronger rate. It’s non corrosive.
Late watching the video Aaron. Happy New Year to Y'all. I always use fluid in my rear tires and I have a set of wheel weights on the rear also. Fluid is just cheaper. I know use methanol now days but I still have calcium chloride in a couple of the old Farmall tractors but it will be changed out when I have trouble or replace the tires.
Marry Christmas and God Bless
For weight on the rear I would go steal inner and outer and then if you need more weight then you add fluid that's just my opinion I worked on heavy equipment and tractors for a lot of years and Arthur still keeps them young fluid make some rust but that's just one old mechanics opinion enjoy all the videos thank you and merry Christmas
Nice job young man
Road trip must have gone to another state . After watching the hills you guys farm on it looked almighty flat where you were driving . Glad to see fans all over . Great video , Happy Holidays 👍
Michelin super singles on the back will pull way better and alot more traction 😊
Michelin radial tractor tires are over priced crap
@Otherrandomguy42 ive seen them in action. They are far from junk. 1000s and 1000s of acres per year.
I use windshield washer fluid. Not as heavy as calcium or beet juice but not as corrosive. You can buy by 55gal drum at Napa.
Merry Christmas everyone. 🎉
I used washer fluid in one tractor i had. It worked pretty well.
I have been using windshield fluid in my tires and it is safe
❤❤VIDEO ❤❤ thanks for sharing ❤❤
Merry Christmas to you and your family from va
I use windshield washer fluid. Not as heavy as other products but fairly cheap.
Now know what your cattle trailer is,Goose Neck.love that Magnum.love the way ye farm.
Thanks for posting
Chloride and steel rims? That sounds a bit aggressive imho. The simplest solution seems to be some Glycol/water solution (much like the cooling liquid of your engine or washer fuid). You can measure the concentration with a refracto meter (pretty cheap these days) to know how low the temperature can get. But to be honest, try to go with iron/steel wheel weights. Liquid in tires will make your tractor feel jumpy and might be a bit abusive to your engine and/or transmission at higher speeds (constant changing loads) so it might have a long term effect here.
Doing climate tests on the newest and prototype tractors and other off highway vehicles, your videos are very refreshing to me. Making a living with older equipment compared to all the high tech stuff coming out these days is kind of neat to see. It's also more "raw" mechanical work, which aligns better with my initial education as a mechanic.
The biggest problems I have when doing tests on tractors down to -40°C (-40°F) are (in order of importance) the batteries, the fuel system and hydraulic system next to the occasional fluid connector breaking because of shock (thermal or mechanical). Storing the battery at a warm spot or using block heaters can go a long way here. Gently letting the tractor warm up after start up will improve longevity or all systems. Using unloaded hydraulics during startup as well. I have the impression that older gear starts up easier as electronics sometimes get in the way. For example: fuel will only be put through at >900-950rpm to prevent flooding the cylinders but that is a drag when starting in cold temperatures when the battery is cold too and the tractor doesn't reach these rpm ranges.
Adblue systems might also take a while to deliver as this liquid freezes up after 9 hrs in below -18°C (0°C). Adblue lines can freeze up faster and at -11°C (+12°F). Regulations state that a tractor needs to be using Adblue in 30 mins though and all manufacturers that I know of meet this criteria. Not an issue for you guys though ;-)
I don’t care how many steel weights you stick on a wheel, it won’t pull like having fluid inside the tire with low air pressure! That being said wheel weights are a one time thing and won’t leak or go bad so it really depends on how hard you are planning to pull that tractor.
Love the channel!!! You may have already did it but would love to hear about your off farm job if you can talk about it.
We got away from using calcium in tires for weight. It ate up to many wheels. I prefer cast wheel weights. I had two inside weights, along with cast centers on a deer i used to have. I think mine were about 800 pounds each, not counting the centers, and I ran 1000-1200 of suit case weights. I ran Titan radials and thought it pulled good. I prefer it to be able to slip vs tearing up internal parts. I will never go back to liquid anything for weight. That’s just my preference and experience.
I don’t think you need to mess with fluid in the rear tires for the chisel plow, just the new tires dual up and a full front weight set you will have a totally different tractor !
I have all three beet juice calcium chloride and also windshield washer fluid I have had my best results with windshield washer fluid we are in Western Pennsylvania don't let me get quite as cold as you guys do
Like they say stay away from the calcium chloride. Had that in my little B and let it set for to many years without checking on it. It leaked and now I need new rims. Had to fix a rim on the back of Donna and her mom's 3000 Ford. It ate it up around the valve stem. They had tire place put alcohol in it. I've been on All State Ag Parts web site.
Niceee...❤❤
I put rim guard in my John Deere rear tires.
My aching back.
I use windshield fluid, don't eat the rim up
I’d have to say steel weights. You need all the traction for chisel plowing, but you don’t need the weight when running across hay fields or prepping the seed bed. Just my 2 cents your the one going to have to make the decision and write the check
You can put the heavier 500lb weights on the outside and add the 150lb weights to the inside of the wheels. The 500lb are harder to find but around. The 150lb do not pay that much for them. Do some measurements but I believe the weights that fit your 686 would fit the 7120?? Merry Christmas to you and your family.
You should include resale value of the rear weights
Can you tell any difference between the Magnum and 7810 in regard to power and pulling ability?
Yes
For traction and pull power the Magnum is going to outpull the Deere by a bit for PTO horsepower on a job like chopping silage the 7810 will outperform the 7120. I had an 8930 it was 215 PTO right out of the factory my 7810 right out of the factory was 194pto the 7810 would actually fill my high dump behind the chopper about as fast as the 8930 because the 8930 is a lot heavier and had to pull itself around. Pound for pound a 7810 Deere is about as good as any other tractor ever built.
@@Otherrandomguy42 Not
Nice upgrades. What about your head liner in the tractor? It looks like it’s ready to come down 😊
I used window washer fluid by the drum you can mix two to one water doesn’t freeze not bad for environment if you have a woops lol just a thought merry Christmas from pa
Where are you at in pa? I am the western part of the state right next to the Butler farm show grounds
I would avoid fluid if possible and go with cast weight. Try to achieve a 35/65 weight split front rear to minimize power hop
Fluid is your best bang for your buck. And your rims will still last 30 plus years with fluid.
Steel We have always been to be more reliable we take them off every couple years and repaint them and clean them they tend to last it depends on how much work you want to put into him the fluid we've never had luck with them because it always seems like every couple years you're always having to replace it because you pump your tire😂
I've heard some guys load their tires with windshield washers fluid
If you use fluid use windshield washer fluid
