You’re welcome!😊 I’d rather focus on helping the community get things working properly and troubleshooting problems. We all just wanna game and have fun. 😂🙌🏻
Thank you so much for this tutorial, I just received my ONEXGPU 2 in the mail to use with my Lenovo Legion Go. Your instructions helped the installation process go so smoothly and I've been really enjoying the benefits of this e-gpu with my handheld PC :)
@GamingRepairs Thank you! I'm setting it up with my GPD Win Mini so thankfully I don't need to side load drivers. I did order a cable matters thunderbolt 5 cable, do you think I'll have any issues with compatibility? I assume tb5 will work with tb4 and I kind of want to future proof this a bit.
For the GPD Win Mini, the install will be like this: Install Guide ONEXGPU 1 and 2 with AMD 8840u Devices - Onexplayer X1 Mini 3DMark Benchmark ruclips.net/video/h_l97TKqdfw/видео.html
Hey! No, the original Ally won’t work because it doesn’t have a Thunderbolt 4 port to support an eGPU. The legion go and the Rog Ally X Z1 Extreme devices will both work though.
This one is a Prototype that I’m testing for Onexplayer. I’m having a lot of fun playing with it. The performance is great! I do have one ordered through the campaign but those aren’t ship until the end of November. I’m excited for the retail unit too. Soon… 😉
I hope so too lol. Once AMD makes the z1 extreme driver compatible with the regular drivers, it’ll be plug and play. For now, we jump through a few hoops. 😂👍
Thank you for the video again. Most of the egpu videos on youtube are made with the Legion Go. Thanks for doing this process on the Ally X. You know, similar device is not a same device. 😉 The video is very informative btw, and I’m sure it will be also very useful when my OneXGPU 2 arrives. Last but not least it gives a very good feeling when listening your silky voice. 🤗 I apologise if it's inconvenient that I mentioned that.
@ mine cost me $33 USD on Amazon , is certified by Intel from Cable Matters. Thunderbolt 5 Module is coming out in December. That’s where we will be testing out EGPUs with TB5. Hopefully Intel will release their official dock for these so brands will starting to making these handheld supporting it. Should be by when Intel releases their next gen chips.
This one is a Prototype unit.😊I do have one as a backer too but the retail units won’t ship out for a few weeks yet. The campaign is still live for another 6 days.
Thanks to your videos I ordered my OneXgpu2 yesterday! So excited to get it by the end of the month! I know this is totally unrelated, but has anyone tried connecting a PSVR2 to the Ally X with a OneXgpu1/2 (with or without the PC adapter)? I've been trying to scourge the internet for any info but has had no luck. I have a PSVR2 collecting dust next to my PS5 and I'm hoping this setup will breath new life to it. Thanks!
Hey! You’re welcome! There’s info on it directly from Sony on the link below. From what I can tell all the specs are met with the 1 and exceed with the ONEXGPU 2 from the GPU side. Technically, it should all work but I don’t have a ps VR2 to test for ya. 😊 www.playstation.com/en-us/support/hardware/pc-prepare-ps-vr2/#:~:text=*4%20For%20best%20performance%2C%20we,6600XT%20or%20later%20graphics%20card.
Thank you! 😁 It’s a Mac Mini stand and it fit perfectly. One side has cable management and the has a curved wall so the fan isn’t blocked. This is the Amazon link to the one I have: a.co/d/1wjBgzj
Hey Nelly! Thanks for the video! I'd like to know your thought about this new EGPU with LEGO. Will the LEGO'S USB4 limit to much? Is it worth to upgrade from ONEX1 to ONEX2? Thanks again for the great content
Thanks, I appreciate it! I’ll be playing Black ops 6 tonight with the Ally X OneXGPU 2 to compare to the video I released last week with the Ally X and OneXGPU 1 to see what kind of performance gains we’re getting over Thunderbolt 4. This will help answer your question. I should have a video released tonight hopefully.
I’ve finally done it😁 all i needed a day off work. So that’s it, it’ll do everything it needs as far as fps and stuff is concerned. I need to make sure to always eject this thing before taking it out!
When you start everything, make sure to turn on the OneXGPU 2 first then the Ally X. In that power boot order. I’ve been able to replicate the unit turning off after a few seconds and not popping up in device manager. As long as you boot in that power order, it should work normally. If you try to connect after the PC is on, that when I’m seeing the issue.
I’ve tested trying to short cut and changing the order and for me it messed everything up each time. This is the only order that I’ve found works. Just start from the beginning and follow everything till the end and It’ll correct the installs.
Ok, thank you! Reason I ask is I have a onex egpu ordered and wanted to try AFMF 2 in the meantime, but I suppose I will wait a few days until I get the onex.
I found a 2 m thunderbolt cable for $10 on aliexpress. It's called ULT-unite and works perfectly with my eGPU dock. I actually own two and have had no issues. It's also built surprisingly well (braided cable) for it's price
Hey Nelly thanks toro for all the help, Question if were to update my ally graphic drivers to the most recent, if I wanted to roll back to the drivers in your video would I have to re-due the entire process with the onexgpu 1 drivers or just the ally’s drivers ??? Thanks in advance
You’re welcome! 😊 The driver dates should always match for both devices to work correctly. If the OneXGPU driver date is November 27th, 2024 then the Ally X driver should also be November 27th, 2024.
Nelly- this totally worked like a breeze and everything has been up and running for a couple weeks! Question- my Adrenalin app shows a driver update- dare I install, and if so what is the correct way to do it so I don't screw up everything I have done so far?
I wouldn’t touch it lol. If you installed the newest drivers for both pulling the December 5th download file then you’re already on the latest one. In device manager both driver dates will show Nov 27th. 😊
@@jhberg1800 Oh! Well then yeah you can go grab the December 5th driver set from the AMD driver link (November 27th driver date in device manager) and install both. Same process as the initial install.
Thank you for this great video, I've followed it and everything is working smoothly ❤️❤️❤️ I just have one question, i saw now an icon in the AMD says eject external AMD graphics, does that mean i can click on it and unplug the onexgpu2 without needing to turn off my legion go? thank you again ❤️❤️
You’re very welcome! 😊🫶 In the xconnect app icon in the bottom right tray, you can right click eject to properly disconnect it without turning it off. You might have to shutdown reconnect turn on the OneXGPU 2 first, then power the legion go to get it back after disconnecting. 👍
HI Nelly! have a question about using the 780m on the legion go. Will we still be able to use Legion space normally? pressing the top button on the right controller still get the pop up quick menus/settings and able to use them normally?
Hey! Yes, you can still use the legion go normally and the pop up menu still works for everything aside from the FPS counter on the legion space overlay. 😊
Thanks, everything seems to be working! Are there additional steps on how to connect to an external display through onexgpu 2? I'm not getting any signal. I'm using a rog ally x connected to the onexgpu 2 using thunderbolt 4 and a hdmi connected to my external display.
That’s great! If you go into windows display settings, does monitor 2 show up? If so, change to show only 2 to get the best performance. You can change the resolution in there and advanced settings for hz.
@@GamingRepairs I didn't but I can. If it's supposed to work I can just keep troubleshooting. I thought it may have been an issue with the driver installation. I don't want to trouble you anymore, thanks for the help!!!
It should show up in the display settings so if you can get it there then you should be good. If you want to bounce around some troubleshooting, just come back and ask. 😊

May I humbly suggest that the most straightforward way to use an eGPU with the Go (or Ally X) is to use an Nvidia graphics card. The drivers do not interfere with the iGPU driver. Both can coexist, and the Nvidia drivers can be installed normally. No fuss. An example of a compact eGPU, like the one here, but with an Nvidia graphics card builtt-in (the RTX 4060) there is the SWGZone eGPU. Check it out. I have installed it and use it with my Go, and had zero problems setting it up - no need to do anything to the built-in AMD driver and no Safe mode needed. I have no connection to that company - I just chose it because I wanted to avoid all this fussy install associated with external AMD cards, which do not co-exist well with the internal AMD iGPU.
You are 100% correct. The Nvidia cards are plug and play with the Legion go and Ally X because they don’t interfere with the official AMD driver. The OneXGPU is plug and play with the 7840u and 8840u AMD handhelds. It’s just the Legion go and Ally X that have conflicts with the Z1 Extreme drivers. My X1 mini 8840u works perfectly and is plug and play with a one press update installs for both drivers when new drivers release. 😊
I have an ayaneo kun with the 7840u! Can you please do a video that shows how to utilize the onexgpu2 with that handheld to achieve 1440p on an external monitor running BO6 in particular? If there is already a video, link please and thank you!

Hi Nelly, I experience sometimes the font for the icon in desktop become super small or sometimes the icons are spaced out a lot more than usual. A reboot will solve this but it gets annoying. Do you experience this and do you have any fix for it? I am connected to external monitor. I havent tried it without ext monitor because i am usually connected to 1. I have tried restarting windows explorer from task manager but does not work.
Is the legion go resolution and hz set to a different one than the external monitor? I’m guessing on boot when it flips to the external and the resolutions are different so the icon change size. Then, after restart because it sorts itself out because it’s only using one display.
@@swlryan You could also try updating your chipset and see if that helps. Install - Auto-Detect and Install Driver Updates for AMD Radeon™ Series Graphics and Ryzen™ Chipsets www.amd.com/en/support/download/drivers.html
Hey did you see retro game corps review of the onexgpu2? It seemed like a negative review to me. He mentioned something about asus doing a update so we don’t have to change the drivers. Do you think that’ll ever happen and is that even worth waiting for or should I just change the drivers and get it over with? I got mine yesterday, haven’t had time to set it up
I haven’t seen it but I’ll make a point to watch it in the next few days. The Ally drivers are still old from August so there’s a benefit to having the newest driver with the 780m. Switching back to the Ally driver is super easy so you might as well change it over. The good news is that the armoury crate fps overlay works now with the 780m drivers so that’s progress in the right direction from Asus.
It would be great if you could but unfortunately the steam deck (like the originally Rog Ally) doesn’t have a Thunderbolt 4 port for eGPU support. If it did have one, I wouldn’t have sold mine. 😂
Yes, you should be able to. Below are the minimum requirements which both devices meet to be compatible. 😊 OneXGPU 1 - 7600m XT 8GB OneXGPU 2 - 7800m 12GB To use a PlayStation VR2 (PSVR 2) with an AMD graphics card, your PC must meet the following minimum requirements: Graphics card: AMD Radeon RX 5500XT or later, or AMD Radeon RX 6500XT or later OS: Windows 11 64-bit RAM: 8 GB or more
Hi Nelly, great video. When I try to manually find the update for the z1 driver (7840) it will find the folder, nut no inf file can be found. Thoughts?
Thanks! Did you delete the AMD folder and repopulate it with the driver install fail (after you installed the OneXGPU driver, shutdown, and unplugged the eGPU)?
The side loaded drivers work connected and disconnected from the eGPU. You don’t have to swap drivers and you’ll have the newest drivers available versus once every 4 months+ on the official one. 😊
Hey, Daniel! ✌️Take any game you play now and add +50% to the FPS number and that’s basically what you can expect as a performance bump. The size is literally double with the same sized power brick (I thought it was bigger but it’s the same one) 45 FPS on OneXGPU, expect about 67.5 FPS on the OneXGPU 2. I ordered the OneXGPU 2 as an early bird backer through the live campaign. Getting to play with this prototype this week, I’ve been impressed. Black ops 6 runs so good on 1440p and I haven’t even tried an Oculink device yet. I’m happy to have one on order. Is it worth it as an upgrade? If you think the +50% gain is worth it and if doubling the size still fits your use case. It’s $300 CAD more than the OneXGPU 1 which is right on par with the two Nvidia equivalent graphics cards price gap. The good news is that if you wanted to get the OneXGPU 2, there’s a market to sell the OneXGPU 1 (even in the Onexplayer discord channel). Or you could wait and see what gets released in 2025 because the OneXGPU 1 is still a solid unit. Even double the sizes, it’s still very portable. I took it with me on my trip this week. 👌 The OneXGPU 1 is so compact that I’ll be using that one more on the go and in my arcade light gun setup. Keeping the OneXGPU 2 at the safety of my desk as a daily driver. 👾
That makes sense. I missed the early bird pricing but I can offset that cost with the onexgpu one. I'm thinking about it. I have the money but I just don't want to waste it if I don't need it. I'm wanting to buy a $600 home gym rn. So, its like I have to choose one or the other lol. I don't use the onexgpu one as much as I thought i would. I've told you before I travel a lot for work for meetings with my states department of mental health and I'm in hotels a lot. But I have a really good laptop with a 4070 in it. So, I've been using it a lot.
@danielhulan3058 If you’re not using as much and still travelling a ton I’d say keep the smaller OneXGPU 1, get the home gym, and wait for the next version of you want to upgrade. Unless you really really want it. 😂
Hey! When you update, you still have to update the OneXGPU driver first and follow the same process. Both drivers have to be updated and using the same date to work properly. I have a shorter and older guide for updating is this helps: ONEXGPU 1 and 2 How To Install New AMD Drivers With Legion Go And Rog Ally X ruclips.net/video/tYuo2eVdcWE/видео.html
I cant getting amd settings to install for some reason. Went through what you did but nothing shows up on my search bar but i see it in programs when you look at uninstall programs. The only thing that opens is the regular adrenaline app
It will look exactly like the regular adrenaline app when you open it. In the AMD app, go to settings. In there the OneXGPU should be listed as the GPU1 (7600m XT or 7800m) and the Ally X or Legion should listed as APU1 (780m). Is that showing correctly?
Hej Nelly i got onexgpu2 and i was following your guide and when i plugged in my onexgpu in device manager its show AMD rx 7800m . Should keep following the guide or do i just plug and play😅
For cpu boost, you recommened to turn it off for the ally x and performance/balanced for legion go (should be under OS power mode for the Go). Wouldnt those settings for legion go boost the clocks for the cpu instead? In this case, wouldnt 'efficiency' mode be better to reduce cpu clocks?
For the Legion Go, efficiency mode is the correct mode to turn the OS performance to since it doesn’t have a CPU boost (or at least it didn’t when I had one). It should be the option on the side bar at the very bottom of the menu with the power and fan options. The TDP should be set to 17W which is performance power on the Ally X and balance power on the Legion Go.
Question: Does hitting the update in Adrenaline break it, or does it update to a driver that works? It often says I have an update available, but I avoid it because I don't want to do all this again. I know for sure that Armoury Crate and Windows updates will break it.
It’ll break it with the update in the App. Easiest way is to run setup process with the new driver file for eGPU first then the Ally X after disconnecting. You can use the same file to update both drivers.
Hey! The process is the same but if you want to see if specifically for the Legion go and the OneXGPU 1. You can you this guide of mine: ruclips.net/video/q5yX_WsfPIQ/видео.htmlsi=rK6rkL4k6Lg0rdFr
Yes, they’re the same steps. I do have one with the Legion go and OneXGPU 1 if you prefer to reference that one. 😊 NEW Install Guide ONEXGPU 1 and 2 For Legion Go And Rog Ally X - The Fully Loaded Edition ruclips.net/video/q5yX_WsfPIQ/видео.html
@legendgaming5405 Once you do the first install everything will work. You can play connected to the eGPU or not and it will still work no problem. The only time you have to mess with the drivers again is when a new driver update comes out that you want to install (follow this guide again for updates) or if windows or Legion space pushes the official driver install and then you’ll have to “rollback” the driver in device manager.
Oh! For AMD it’s called SmartAccess Memory. It’s listed as not available for the RX 7800m GPU. No other GPU listed in Adrenaline because the integrated cards are APU’s.
Yes, I bought an early bird one through the campaign as a backer. It’ll be discounted more through the campaign (still 5-6 days left) than it will be once it’s live on the Onexplayer retail site platform. 😊
Can you link where can I get those power cord because it helps me to see it which cord I can get and what’s the name of the court because I need to know what Pacific court is it so you better send us a link because sometimes it could be not easy to find
After this is complete, you can also eject the gpu2 and continue to play as normal on your device? With reduced graphics quality of course but you don’t have to do anything as far as uninstalling or reinstalling?
Yes, everything will work connected to the eGPU or disconnected with just the handheld. You’ll just have newer more optimized drivers for your Ally X or Legion Go (December) than the last official driver update from Sept/August. 😊
When you unplug the eGPU, will the Ally X use its iGPU automatically? Or once you installed the AMD driver, your Ally X has to stick to the eGPU setup?
Nelly- I think I did this backwards (set up my guy in the middle of the night), where now the Legion recognizes the onex but not its own drivers- how do ai move forward and fix?
In device manager, does the Legion go display driver say 780m but with a yellow triangle? Or does it say Radeon Graphics? Can you confirm what the OneXGPU driver says and no yellow triangles on that, right?
Seems silly to have to jump through hoops to make an AMD product work with an AMD product lol. It’s just the Z1 extremes that has this issue. The 7840u and 8840u work seemlessly with AMD eGPU’s. What you can do, it get an Nvidia eGPU then you don’t have to change the drivers on the Ally X.
Hi ! Im trying to build a enclosure with a rx 7900 GRE. The process should be the same ? Or should i look over some particular things when im setting up the new driver?
It’ll be the same process with any of the AMD card eGPU and an Ally X or Legion go. It’s the Z1 extreme driver that doesn’t like normal AMD cards so you have to do this process to correct it. 😊
@@GamingRepairsThank you! So doesnt matter what set up im trying to add to the ROG ally, i have to download the 7840U driver to activate the 780m graphics, right? And one more thing please: does bitlocker have any role in this driver switch thing and set up a new piece of hardware? I dont know if i remember correct but someone said he had some sort of issue with bitlocker. I cant think of why that could interfere in this process
I turned off bitlocker when I upgrade the NVMe haha. Yes, you have to change the driver to the 780M (same at 7840u) when you’re using it with an AMD eGPU. But if you use an Nvidia eGPU, you can use the official driver without having to change anything. Handhelds with the 7840u or 8840u chip work no problem. It’s just the Z1 extreme devices that throw a wrench in the mix for AMD compatibility.
I have a small problem, my back buttons don’t respond at all. Do you think something is disconnected on the motherboard or something, do I have to open up my pc and check and if so, what?
There is a ribbon cable from the back plate to the board but it’s should be disconnected unless you opened it up? Have you tried mapping them in armoury crate?
@ yh, I mapped them so they work as the ps button on px play but when I press it nothing happens, even when i’ve got gamepad mode enabled. I’ve opened up my allyx in the past to upgrade the storage to a 4TB, the ribbon cable doesn’t seem iffy but i’m positive it was connected when I put it back together. I can check, opening this thing up does make a little anxious though, it’s very delicate and you have to extremely careful.
@@GamingRepairs yh, i was following a guide and after i mapped them, they don’t work. It’s only then I started to question if they work at all since I never usually use those buttons It never occurred to me until now.
Hi nelly, finally received mine and followed this video to the T. Work like a charm. But I noticed the gpu2 gets hot real fast. Like barely 10mins of gaming and it is hot to the touch and fan noise is high. Is this normal when turbo mode is on?
It does get hot and loud when it’s pushing super hard. Have you tried turning turbo off to see if it still gets really hot and loud? Is CPU boost off and TDP is set to 17W on your device? VRAM auto or low GB?
Nelly idk if you'll see this but I've searched for days and can not for the live of me resolve this issue nor find any information online basically I'm having issues going full-screen on the legion go display whilst using the onexgpu the games will run fine on windowed or windowed borderless however when selecting full-screen the games are running in portrait not landscape flipped I've tried a lot of fixes such as disabling scaling even trying magpie nothing will sort this out its extremely frustrating as I like to use the legion go display for higher fps as my TV only runs had 60hz I'm wondering if you have any clue how to resolve this
It’s because the legion go display is native portrait that some game don’t like Fullscreen with it. Most games have to run in Windowed borderless. Some game you can’t adjust the resolution unless you’re in Fullscreen but you can use windowed borderless lower the render scale to reduce the resolution. Is it every game you’re having issues with or just some?
@GamingRepairs it's not every game just a few which I'm currently playing GTA san andreas definitive edition (this one runs fine windows borderless) and The Forgotten City the issue is so bad on the latter that even windows borderless is having issues so I just gave up and playing via docked it sucks that portrait is the native display for the go but if there's no way to fix it or change that I guess I just need to get used to it and allocate the games with terrible ratio issue to exclusively docked thank you for replying
@sammcallister4385 Yeah, it’s frustrating with a portrait for sure. If the game gives you the option to render scale to 80% or more, try that and it should help get the resolution lower on windowed so that it plays better.
I get the same warning. You can dismiss it like I did in this Fortnite video. 😊 ONEXGPU 2 X1 Mini 8840u Fortnite Gameplay with Oculink 1440p and 1600p Epic Settings ruclips.net/video/58tB4K8Qg4g/видео.html
Hello Nelly, need help from you. I was trying the FF XVI and turned it to high quality graphics as per the system recommendation. When it goes to the game, it crashed after few seconds (same after the restart). May I know if it is because the game is too demanding on the gpu or cpu so that it crashed? Just installed on rog ally x and went well. But since I had onexgpu 1, I first remived those drivers then installed the new ones since I already had 780m. But now my AMD tool is broken and AMD folder has been replaced with new files and I cannot find how to re install ? Should I install 780m from scratch ?

Hey! With both devices powered off and still connected with the Thunderbolt 4 (in the left usb c), are you powering on the OneXGPU first, then the Ally X?
@@JhonNakanoOh okay. Try powering both off, make sure they are connected, then power the ONEXGPU first then the Ally X. It sometimes doesn’t like it when you connect powered on or if your disconnect and try to reconnect in the same boot.
Check in device Manager under display adapters and make sure the 7600m XT driver is enabled. If you’re really still stuck, you can run a DDU and go through the full install process again. Hey! Nelly, the POE2 runs on my ally x + onexgpu 2 only come with about 45fps, no matter how I adjust the setting even to lowest quality (40-60fps), sometimes I feel like the 780m runs better for the game. Is this normal?.. (tried STALKER2 and Alan Wake 2 as well, same poor experience)
@@GamingRepairs Nelly, I have inspired by your video here and realised the cable length plays a huge part in the game. All along I have been using that “2M USB 4 cable” which is a gift from the eGPU seller… I think that could be reason causes the frame rate drop in my POE2. I have tested with the original cable again just now and average frame rate was boosted up to 55-80fps 🌞🌞🌞 (I have tested one more round with Alan Wake 2 with high preset, the fps was about 30+-)
Hi Nelly, I have the MSI Claw with the OnexGPU 1 and got some issues. All the latest drivers were updated, most of the games run fine as expected, except for a few. For some reasons, some games like Hogwarts Legacy, AC Odyssey, or Gotham Knights stuttered as helll. I noticed the GPU Ultilization percentage didn't reach 100%...it constantly goes up and down (100%, 80%, 40%,...then up back to 90%) caused the games stuttering. Do you have nay idea why? I used the Razer Thunderbolt 4 as you recommended. Do you have this issue with Legion Go or Ally X? Thanks.
What TDP W setting are you using on the claw? No every game will auto select the right graphics card. Have you checked if it’s grabbing the 7600M xt on those games?
@ yes I did double check, they used 7600M XT. I grabbed the Legion Go as well to test out if the same issue happens, and still the Legion Go has some games (different ones from the Claw) stuttering because the power draw from the egpu was too low (40-50 w). I wonder if there is anyway to manually adjust the power draw of this egpu to 90-100% at all time?
You’ll want to make sure the TDP setting that you’re using is 17W on your handheld, CPU boost should be off or on efficiency (lowest setting on the legion go), VRAM on the handheld should be set to auto on the legion go and Intel is already auto default. Try these settings and see if there’s an improvement.
Oh ok. I used 30W mode on the Legion Go since I thought this would push the eGPU to its limit. And VRAM on 6GB as I heard a few people on reddit said Auto made games crash (these posts were 6-10 months ago)? Did Lenovo fix the Auto VRAM issue yet?
I was using auto when I had the Legion go and there were not issues. As long as you drop the TDP to 17W and CPU boost efficiency with Auto VRAM, everything should work well. The higher TPD pulls power away from the eGPU (where all the graphics performance is actually coming from) and makes both devices hotter with zero performance gain. Have the VRAM set to auto or the lowest allows the CPU to have more ram to support the eGPU but you want the CPU to be chill so you have to turn off the boost on the Ally X or run on efficiency for the legion go.
Did everything in the video , the amd app shows the gpus exactly the same . The thing is for ex: opening dota2 but you can tell is not running on 7800m xt , for some reason it takes the ally-x graphics.. is this game related or how do i swap in between the 2 gpus? Help please!
Hey! You should be able to change the graphics card option in the game graphics or display settings. Most games will auto the eGPU but the odd one will default the APU. If you can’t find it, let me know and I can download dota 2 to check mine.
You could try disabling the 780m driver and enabling back after you’re done the game. But, there should be an option in the game to select the graphic driver.

Hello! I have the Onexgpu2. Just got it yesterday and im having some issues. I'm seeing a TON of Kernel-Power errors in the event viewer. Every game I launch hangs and eventually crashes the whole system. Both devices are recognized in the Device Manager and AMD Adrenaline. The Xconnect software is running and its definitely trying to use the 7800 for the video. I have my OS mode set to efficiency and have tried balanced power and performance. Both get the same crash result. Are there any settings I'm missing that I could try? Also, the retail power supply doesn't let you remove the plug. :( I was really hoping to do that. Thanks!!
Yeah, that’s the 65W passthrough one. It’s unfortunate for sure. The campaign ones had the 100W passthrough big chunky ones that can swap the plug (which is sweet lol). Try this and see if it helps: Fix AMD eGPU PCIe Bus Errors (WHEA) on Rog Ally X, Legion Go, and More ruclips.net/video/f7fSmTbFoRM/видео.html
@@GamingRepairs Spoke too soon. Worked fine for a couple hours now back to the original issue. Crashing Windows entirely and forcing a reboot. Checked the previous settings and all are as they should be. All I did was a reboot. After that, it stopped working again.
Try shutdown completely, unplugging everything for 30 secs, then plugging it back in, powering the OneXGPU first, then the Legion Go. Which cable are you using? The one Onexplayer provides?
@@GamingRepairs Tried that and same result. I'm using the Onex cable right now but I'm getting one of the better ones tomorrow. I tried it on my laptop too and having similar issues. I'll update after I try the new cable.
You shouldn’t, no. Maybe one of your drivers flipped from a windows update. In device manager under display adapters what’s listed for the 2 and do you see any triangle warning like icons on either display driver?
@@GamingRepairs ?? Idk what that means, This is kinda frustrating lol. Trying my best to stay awake since i just finished work. Not expecting this. It should work just fine
@GamingRepairs I need something super small to carry around lol I love my X1 8840U but I want something smaller so it can be easy to take out and play
Need some help I got a onexplayer gpu 7600mxt for my rog ally x and I installed all the drivers the amd drivers it’s connected shows on task manager but when I look at my device manager it shows a exclamation ⚠️ I try to load up a game and it’s only giving me 1fps very laggy help please
Which driver has the triangle? The 7600m XT or the 780m? If you run through every step of this install guide all the way to the end (don’t skip any steps), it’ll fix the issues. The steps are the same except with the 7600m XT and the Legion go in this video if you prefer to see the actual device being installed. Again same steps in both videos. 😊 NEW Install Guide ONEXGPU 1 and 2 For Legion Go And Rog Ally X - The Fully Loaded Edition ruclips.net/video/q5yX_WsfPIQ/видео.html
No problem! 😊 It’s not setup correctly right now. That’s why you’re having issues. You’ll need to run the 780m install from the video to flip the AMD Radeon Graphics to the 780m driver. Make sure you turn off automatic updates for windows and in armoury crate. If you run through this full setup guide and follow along at each step you’ll be able to fix the triangle and get everything working. 👍

The ports have to be Thunderbolt 4 rated for eGPU’s 40Gbps. A fast usb port doesn’t mean that it’s a Thunderbolt 4 port. You’ll want to look up your model number on your laptop and check the specs to make sure it can support an eGPU. In device manager under display adapters, what does your screen say?

Your ports must not be Thunderbolt 4 rated of you’re using the cable it came with, it’s turned on, and it’s not showing up under device manager display adapters even to enable it if it’s disabled.
hey Nelly, first of all thank you for making such a useful video! im getting my ONEXGPU2 in a couple of days and just wanted to prepare myself for the set up. After watching almost all your videos on this matter, I initiatively started to do one of the steps I could do (so i dont have to later), which is changing the stock LEGION's GPU driver to the 780M, which I did flawlessly following your guides. The question is, will doing this prior to installing the ONEXGPU's driver messes up the whole process? Because based on your videos, you installed the driver for the ONEX first, then fix the Legion's. thank you!
Hey! You’re welcome! I’m glad they’ve been useful to you. 😁👍 Still follow the process the same and if you notice the legion go driver flips (or has a yellow triangle) in device manager after installing the 7800m, just continue the same steps on the 780m part again with the ccc2 app and everything and it’ll still be good. There hasn’t been a new driver for November for me to test with the OneXGPU 2 updates but you’ll likely have to repeat the steps again. This time will be quicker since you’ve already done it before. If you run into any issues just sent me a note and we can work through it together. 😊
Oh neat, I’ll have to try it out again to see. If you’re playing a Steam game and turn on in-game FPS in the steam app settings, you’ll see it side by side to know for sure that it’s working. I hope mine works too, that’d be great! 😁
Nelly…help meh..please..it’s as if nobody else on planet earth has the onexgpu lol I have no idea how to resolve what’s happening…I have scoured google and Reddit..but all of a sudden my onexgpu isn’t performing how it used to..playing dragon age veilguard and just two days ago I was pumpin out great performance 75 fps in 1440 medium to high settings mix..and now I can’t even get it to go past 29 fps same settings..I have changed and altered nothing.. I have changed no settings on my Rog ally x either.. I don’t know what’s wrong haha what could it be? Any ideas? Has this happened to you before? Lolol sorry if you had a message platform or something I’d just hit u up on that instead.. Lolol
Hey! You can reach me anytime by commenting on a video.😊 In device manager, did either of your drivers change names or have a yellow looking triangle on it? Sometimes armoury crate or legion space will mess with the 780m driver and flip it back to the AMD Radeon Graphics official one without your permission. Let’s check that first.
@ okay I checked and it did not have any of those they’re clean..perfectly fine looking. Should I maybe just reinstall them? Cuz I can’t figure out why performance tanked I even just tried on a jrpg that isn’t graphically intensive at all and the onexgpu usually eats lil anime games graphics up and looks gorgeous and it’s struggggggling man it’s weird.

@cameronphelps6740 Alright. Yes, I would recommend that you run a DDU now then reference one of the guides for a clean install to reset your drivers DDU help - application link is in the description and you’ll only need to watch the beginning to remove the AMD GPU drivers only. Once it restarts automatically then you can work through the install guide again. ruclips.net/video/QDXQdH4WUzE/видео.htmlsi=3LfFV9o1L-OCkT0q
@ would you ever consider any tips and tricks videos about the onexgpu2. I honestly don’t know how to operate this thing other than pressing the boost and rgb buttons
You don’t even have to press turbo boost. It’s already on by default. Purple is on and blue is off. If you want to turn off the RGB, you can hold down the RGB button. Other than that just leave the AMD app on default settings. 😁👌 I did cover a few tips in the unboxing video for the onexgpu 2. Outside of that video and the quick notes above, I think it's all covered lol.
It's the same process as before. You're nuking it. You DDU old drivers, sideload 780M Graphics, install the amd software and the restart. Plug and play. I recommend windows pro for GP edit to force windows not to update drivers on its own.
Exactly. Same process just using the Ally X this time around instead of the Legion Go with some extra notes specific to the Ally X and the OneXGPU 2. Thanks for the recommendation and feedback! 😊
The side loaded drivers work connected and disconnected from the eGPU. You don’t have to swap drivers and you’ll have the newest drivers available versus once every 4 months+ on the official one. 😊

Thunderbolt 5 cable from cablematters is excellent too because it’s also support TB4 and TB3. Plus you get full wattage charge.
Pretty expensive? I haven’t really looked at the Thunderbolt 5 cables yet.

I’ve finally done it😁 all i needed a day off work. So that’s it, it’ll do everything it needs as far as fps and stuff is concerned. I need to make sure to always eject this thing before taking it out!
🥳🙌🏻🙌🏻
21:32 I got to this stage and it’s saying 27th November in properties but i’m positive i downloaded the 5th of December drivers
November 27th is correct. Does it say November 27th on both drivers? It’s always a few days before the date on the AMD site.
Thanks it will come usefull, I just received the rog ally x, the one x GPU 1 is somewhere on the way from China.
You’re welcome! I hope you love both device as much as I do! 😁
Will it cause issues if you install the driver for the rog first, followed by installing the onex driver?
I’ve tested trying to short cut and changing the order and for me it messed everything up each time. This is the only order that I’ve found works. Just start from the beginning and follow everything till the end and It’ll correct the installs.
Ok, thank you! Reason I ask is I have a onex egpu ordered and wanted to try AFMF 2 in the meantime, but I suppose I will wait a few days until I get the onex.
@@devincannon4001 You can rock the 780m with AFMF 2 in the meantime and be fine. You'll just have to do the install again when onexgpu comes. :)

Thanks in advance
You’re welcome! 😊
The driver dates should always match for both devices to work correctly.
@ I’m on the release from 10/11- what do you recommend?
@@jhberg1800 Oh! Well then yeah you can go grab the December 5th driver set from the AMD driver link (November 27th driver date in device manager) and install both. Same process as the initial install.

Hey! 😊 Are you using show only display 2 or are you extending or duplicating display 1 and 2?
@GamingRepairs yup only on display 2. Lego screen is off
Is the legion go resolution and hz set to a different one than the external monitor? I’m guessing on boot when it flips to the external and the resolutions are different so the icon change size. Then, after restart because it sorts itself out because it’s only using one display.

Is that a mini hdmi port at the back or a standard one?
Hey! It’s a standard HDMI port. 😊
Can you please do this setup with Steam Deck?
It would be great if you could but unfortunately the steam deck (like the originally Rog Ally) doesn’t have a Thunderbolt 4 port for eGPU support. If it did have one, I wouldn’t have sold mine. 😂
I already got the item. So it’s time to do this whole procedure. 🤗
At least tomorrow, because today I won’t have time for that. Dammit! 😤😂

Yes, you should be able to. Below are the minimum requirements which both devices meet to be compatible. 😊
OneXGPU 1 - 7600m XT 8GB
OneXGPU 2 - 7800m 12GB
To use a PlayStation VR2 (PSVR 2) with an AMD graphics card, your PC must meet the following minimum requirements:
Graphics card: AMD Radeon RX 5500XT or later, or AMD Radeon RX 6500XT or later
OS: Windows 11 64-bit
RAM: 8 GB or more
Hi Nelly, great video.
I did, and have tried a couple of times. Any guidance would be helpful
I may have figured it out. Looks like the file was corrupt when it was unpacked
Is it working now?
Because you have to install new drivers, are you still able to unplug the eGPU and play handheld right away or do you have to keep swapping drivers?
The side loaded drivers work connected and disconnected from the eGPU. You don’t have to swap drivers and you’ll have the newest drivers available versus once every 4 months+ on the official one. 😊
Nelly, you know i have the onexgpu one, would you say its worth it to get the 2? With the legion go?
Hey, Daniel! ✌️Take any game you play now and add +50% to the FPS number and that’s basically what you can expect as a performance bump. The size is literally double with the same sized power brick (I thought it was bigger but it’s the same one)
45 FPS on OneXGPU, expect about 67.5 FPS on the OneXGPU 2.
The OneXGPU 1 is so compact that I’ll be using that one more on the go and in my arcade light gun setup.
Hi man, do you think this procedure would also work with the GPD G1 graphics? i haven't done anything yet with that unit of mine,
Hey! Yes, it will work with the GPD G1 and the Ally X or Legion Go. 👍
After you do this once, there’s no beginning driver to uninstall so where do you start to just update
Hey! When you update, you still have to update the OneXGPU driver first and follow the same process. Both drivers have to be updated and using the same date to work properly. I have a shorter and older guide for updating is this helps:
ONEXGPU 1 and 2 How To Install New AMD Drivers With Legion Go And Rog Ally X
ruclips.net/video/tYuo2eVdcWE/видео.html
Hey! What device are you using it with?
@GamingRepairs ligion go
Yes, keep following the guide. 😊
@GamingRepairs it's works thank you the performance is incredible 😲
@hardstyleboificatify Awesome! 😁
@GamingRepairs thanks for the clarification!
@@bentyh90 You're welcome! ☺
Hey is this install guide for the onexgpu 2 for the legion go pretty much the exact same install guide for the onexgpu 1

Is there a way to enable resizable bar on the ally x?
Like for the overlay? Which bar?
@GamingRepairs it's not an overlay it's a setting for graphics card.
Oh! For AMD it’s called SmartAccess Memory. It’s listed as not available for the RX 7800m GPU. No other GPU listed in Adrenaline because the integrated cards are APU’s.
@GamingRepairs so can't use any intel arc cards then?
The ONEXGPU 2 works with my Onexplayer X1 Intel 155H.
Do you think it’s worth buying through the campaign?
Yes, I bought an early bird one through the campaign as a backer. It’ll be discounted more through the campaign (still 5-6 days left) than it will be once it’s live on the Onexplayer retail site platform. 😊

Ok great! Thank you so much. Your videos are a necessity!
When you unplug the eGPU, will the Ally X use its iGPU automatically? Or once you installed the AMD driver, your Ally X has to stick to the eGPU setup?
Hey! When you unplug the eGPU it will automatically switch back to the iGPU. You’re good with and without the eGPU. 😊
Wanted to buy but I’ll just wait till they fix the driver issue with ally x
@ can i turn off bitlocker at this point?
You bet! 😊👍
And you mapped them as the B and V keyboard letters for the PS and Touchpad? I use PX Play too.

Nelly idk if you'll see this but I've searched for days and can not for the live of me resolve this issue nor find any information online
basically I'm having issues going full-screen on the legion go display whilst using the onexgpu the games will run fine on windowed or windowed borderless
however when selecting full-screen the games are running in portrait not landscape flipped I've tried a lot of fixes such as disabling scaling even trying magpie nothing will sort this out its extremely frustrating as I like to use the legion go display for higher fps as my TV only runs had 60hz
I'm wondering if you have any clue how to resolve this
It’s because the legion go display is native portrait that some game don’t like Fullscreen with it.
When playing Fortnite I get warning about known issues in D3D12 then it says please install the recommended driver should I be worried ?
I get the same warning. You can dismiss it like I did in this Fortnite video. 😊

@@GamingRepairs Nelly, I have inspired by your video here and realised the cable length plays a huge part in the game. All along I have been using that “2M USB 4 cable” which is a gift from the eGPU seller… I think that could be reason causes the frame rate drop in my POE2.
@ and if there is no option in the game .. is there any other way to force it to get the egpu?
You could try disabling the 780m driver and enabling back after you’re done the game. But, there should be an option in the game to select the graphic driver.
@@GamingRepairs does POE selects automatically the egpu? I know you have a video about that .

hey Nelly, first of all thank you for making such a useful video! im getting my ONEXGPU2 in a couple of days and just wanted to prepare myself for the set up.
Still follow the process the same and if you notice the legion go driver flips (or has a yellow triangle) in device manager after installing the 7800m, just continue the same steps on the 780m part again with the ccc2 app and everything and it’ll still be good. There hasn’t been a new driver for November for me to test with the OneXGPU 2 updates but you’ll likely have to repeat the steps again. This time will be quicker since you’ve already done it before. If you run into any issues just sent me a note and we can work through it together. 😊
@@GamingRepairs so in this case, do you think I should just DDU the AMD drive later when the ONEX arrives?
@sendraramadhan6733 you should be fine to leave but do that if the full run through doesn’t work.
@@GamingRepairs For some reason the 780M is reverting back to the AMD Radeon Graphics. What should we do to stop this?
Do you have windows auto updates and Legion space auto updates both turned off?
Armory crate overlay fps seems to be working for me on rog ally x with onexgpu 2 anyone else?
Lolol
Hey! You can reach me anytime by commenting on a video.😊
In device manager, did either of your drivers change names or have a yellow looking triangle on it?

Yes, I would recommend that you run a DDU now then reference one of the guides for a clean install to reset your drivers
DDU help - application link is in the description and you’ll only need to watch the beginning to remove the AMD GPU drivers only. Once it restarts automatically then you can work through the install guide again.

@ thank you man. That helped a lot. I appreciate your quick replies.
I have a windows update, it’s perfectly fine to do that right nothing to do with AMD
Should be fine to do. I just did one last night.
@@GamingRepairs thanks man, you’re the best💯
You’re welcome!☺️
It's the same process as before. You're nuking it. You DDU old drivers, sideload 780M Graphics, install the amd software and the restart. Plug and play. I recommend windows pro for GP edit to force windows not to update drivers on its own.
Exactly. Same process just using the Ally X this time around instead of the Legion Go with some extra notes specific to the Ally X and the OneXGPU 2. Thanks for the recommendation and feedback! 😊
