If you use these drivers with the Asus Rog Ally X, it will kill your bluetooth connection to wireless earbuds, it's a Realtek issue. Everytime you pair headphones it will crash to blue screen . If you have a Ally X and are cool with using wired headphones go for it..
You really should consider pinning this comment or at least put it in the description. A lot of people with Ally X's are using this video not knowing the repercussions and down side to doing this. @GamingRepairs
This video is THE definitive guide for getting the OneXGPU and LegionGo playing nice together! I had completely botched the install and was starting to freak out a bit when I came across this video. I followed the instructions to the letter and now everything is running like a dream! A thousand times thank you for making this vid 😁😁
This video is a lifesaver. I just got my OneX GPU and it wasn't being detected at all. Following this step-by-step really helped! Subscribed to your channel 😊
Without this video I don't know what I would have done with the extremely vague instructions that come with the device, your expertise in this field is greatly appreciated. I've subscribed to the channel and liked the video.
Thank you for the support and taking the time to write me a note! I felt like it was super vague too. I’m glad the time I’ve invested in the channel is helping the community. 😊✌🏻
Nelly-- you did a fantastic and thorough job detailing how to set this up. I followed your directions step-by-step and they worked flawlessly. Thank you!
RESPECT! Got the blue screen of death from your original video but that was my fault not yours! This install worked great! Thank you!! Saved me heaps of time working it out myself.
I plan on getting a onexgpu for my LeGo and was looking for an install video that actually makes sense and is comprehensive. Thank you for making this. I saved it to my watch list after 5 minutes.

This might be my RUclips helpful video of 2024. Honestly I’m more curious how you figured out all the steps to solve this! This worked perfectly for my ally x. You’re a hero!
Awe thanks! And you’re welcome! It was interesting for sure lol. Lots of discovery, trials and error troubleshooting to figure out the issues. Back in February there was zero content in this. Once I figured it out, I needed to share it with the world haha. 😁🙌🏻
Yay! I’m so glad this helped you. Thanks for taking the time to share with me. 😁🙌🏻 If you run into any issues or have questions, stop by and ask. There’s a bunch of info and tips in the description. 😊
good work! i just got my OneXGPU2 today Nov 17th 24, and havent got my ROG ally X yet.. but i tried installing onto my intel Razer blade, the video is very useful, i wouldnt have figured it out! reminds me why i havent used Win for such a long time
Will be updating with this soon. Havent played on it in a bit. You saved me when it first came out!! Just wanted to see if your still making stuff. Almost 1k lets go!
Literally bought my onexgpu for the ally x and was so excited but I’m not that into all the drivers and how to set stuff up so thank you😭 life saver fr , definitely was not cheap
Absolutely top notch helpful guide! I followed everything to the letter and it worked perfectly first time. The only difference I noticed is that the driver download for both the 7600M-XT and the integrated graphics 7840U are identical now so no need to download both.
Thank you so much for the video ! I was struggling with my ROG Ally X I wanted to connect with a RX 6800 and a Razer Core. I followed your instructions and everything is working smoothly 🙏
This is a wonderful guide! I followed each step and had zero problems 😊 thanks for this. Good job too, you explained everything well and in a way I was able to understand easily and I’m very new to pc/handheld gaming but I never once was lost or confused.
You are very welcome. Thanks for the great feedback, I appreciate it! I put thought and effort in to try to taylor to different learning styles. It makes me happy to see that the guide is working and helping. 😊
lol thanks for the video. I just ordered my ally X and I was looking all around for videos on how to setup and install: setup to my onexgpu. It’s alot but I’ll try my best to follow your steps. From this video. Before I do that it’s a video on how to update all of my ally X so I’ll update all of my drivers first & get things setup then I’ll come here and follow your steps. 😂 I hope I don’t mess things up
Yes, exactly. 😁👍 After you run through this setup, armoury crate will show a driver update again for the official Ally X driver, just don’t install all and always skip that install. If you run into any issues, ask and I’ll help you through it. There’s a bunch more details in the description too.
Incredible! THANK YOU!! You're a rock star. This video is so well done and thorough. I thought my onexgpu was worthless and that I just wasted my money trying to get some more juice out of my Legion Go. 😊😊👌👌
Thanks a lot for this really indepth, but easy to follow video. You have sorted out my eGPU frequent disconnection problem with your advice about the Legio Go power settings. It has made a world of difference, and now I can use a longer Thunderbolt 4 cable, too. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
@@GamingRepairsHello nelly! There is another update for the amd drivers on the website at the moment for both 7840u and 7600m xt (24.4.1). If I am going to update the drivers, should I follow all these steps again or can I just manually download the drivers and install them? Thanks!

hi nelly! i forgot to ask you if you do this driver setup situation, what happens if there are times u wont be usingthe egpu. What happens to your ally X's own drivers, is there going to be an issue
Hey! 😊I use my Ally X all the time with or without the eGPU. There’s no issue at all with the drivers when you’re not using the eGPU. It still works great solo with the 780m driver (which is a much newer driver with newer game optimizations over its official driver package).👌
Its amazing oml, picked up a razer cable as well its definitely great been using it as a secondary setup, only issue is unreal engine 5 games can be a bit unstable but thats ue5 for ya lmao @GamingRepairs
Your videos save me ! I’m not really familiar with amd but I am better because of you apréciate you so much I just wish updating my device didn’t break everything
Yeah, the AMD card is easy if you have a 7840u or 8840u device. But with the Z1 Extreme ones, you have to jump through a few hoops. Nvidia will just work without all the fuss for the Legion go and Ally X. Shame on AMD for making the official driver incapable. Hope they fix that. 😂👍
This is the best guide for a complete dummy like myself that knows very little about conputers and even moreso graphics and processors and how to go about installing them. I watched another one of your videos and garnered many questions mostly nothing was working, then I watched this video, followed everything to the letter and now my games work again. Feel overjoyed. Thank you. I was unsure about the onexgpu. I had to Google it. Is it worth it for the Legion Go, what improvements does the OneXGPU offer with the Legion Go? I hope you continue to make updated videos when new drivers come out, so that novices and others alike can learn how to install them and play our games. You got me as a new subscriber thanks again vm!

I noticed after installing the OneX drivers first, that it shown the caution logo next to the driver? I followed 100% everything but its showing a caution logo by the OneX drive when in device manager
Never mind. It seemed to have removed this logo. So with this complete, will I see a difference in some games with these drivers installed, and updated with this OneX Egpu?
That’s good lol. You should see better performance with these drivers. If you use the stock Legion go driver, games crash and there’s issues with the eGPU. This will help you get off on the right foot so that you don’t have to go through the same leg work I did. 😁👍
Good stuff! I am assuming this process is the same anytime an update is released? If Lenovo releases and new AMD GPU update / etc. via Legion Space or where. We just download the latest of these two drivers and press forward all over again?
Thanks! Yes, the process is the same for updating. Don’t update the driver in Legion Space or windows for the legion go. It will override the side load and cause issues with the egpu. Only use the AMD site 2 drivers (links in description) and the same process and you’ll be good to game! 😁👌
Hi. Thank you so much for the tutorial. It's really odd that this has to be the process to get this egpu working . I have a problem with tracking frames by and settings. Basically nothing I do changes the N/A instead of a number of frames
You’re welcome! 😊 It is odd but it’s AMD’s own compatibility issues with the AMD Radeon Graphics in the Z1 extreme chips and the AMD eGPUs because they won’t work properly together on Adrenaline. This is why we need to change the driver on the Legion and also change adrenaline to the AMD settings app so peace can be made between the two devices. Once you change the Legion Go driver to 780m, the Legion fps overlay will stop working. You’ll need to use the Steam in-game FPS counter, the AMD settings app overlay, or another program like MSI afterburner to capture the fps.
Great guide. Just used this to set up my OneXGpu. Mine works but I can access AMD adrenaline or AMD settings even though it shows it’s installed. The Xconmect icon is there and it all works no issue, but do I need to go back and reinstall that ccc2 file?
This is a great guide. I do have a question. Today my onexgpu started to flash it's led s and no longer would connect to my legion go. Is there a way to hard reset the onexgpu?
Thank you! There’s no hard reset that I’m aware of aside from unplugging it. I have a few questions to help narrow down the potential issue: 1. Is the blue light on the power brick staying solid? 2. Did you try the bottom usb port on the Legion go? If so, did the behaviour of the ONEXGPU and the rgb lights change? 3. Which thunderbolt 4 cable are you using? Onex that came with it or another one?
@@GamingRepairs The blue light was staying on but now when i plug it into the Legion Go it turns off. No LED's are turning on at any time. I am using the cable it came with and i have tried both usb's.
@@Yeden_of_the_Shore If the little blue light on the big power brick is turning off then it’s a faulty power supply. I’m assuming that’s the blue light that is turning off now (and not the power button blue light). If the power brick blue light turns off then no power is going to the device. If you’ve tried different power outlets and still no blue light on the brick then it’s definitely the power supply. I’ll reply back with an invite to the onexplayer official discord and the 7600m XT channel is for the onexgpu. The Admins can help expedite your customer service ticket if your power supply is faulty.
@@Yeden_of_the_Shore Okay if the blue brick is on then your power supply is good. The Onexgpu branded cable might be the problem then. Have you tried a different thunderbolt 4 cable? Less expensive: a.co/d/7pqb00N Best stable and always consistent performance: a.co/d/2dh8R4j
Hey Nelly, I'm having a blast with m OneX and Legion Go, thanks to you! It is my first gaming PC and I'm wondering about updates. Do I still do the Bios updates with my handheld? @@GamingRepairs after using it a bunch over the last 3-4 days, i still get a disconnect every 3 or so hours which can be really annoying, got the same cable that you said to order as well, any clue what i might be doing wrong? only thing i've seen is to set the LG itself to balanced but wouldn't that cause performance issues for CPU-intensive stuff?
could it also maybe be an issue of an extension cord not delivering enough power? cuz i got mine plugged into one because it wouldn't reach the wall otherwise.

That’s correct. If you search the windows search bar for AMD, do any apps pop up? If so, what’s the name? Check out the pinned comment for the Ally X too. The current drivers knock out the Bluetooth audio.
Great video! Thanks for the info. Finally got my LeGo and eGpu working the way I want them to. Unrelated question: what stand are you using for the LeGo in the video?
Love the video very easy to understand thanks so much. But had a question what are the settings you have it on I’m having a hard time running game the onex keeps disconnecting while I play the games.
Thank you! TDP should be set to Balanced and VRAM on the Legion Go to the lowest number or auto. If the OneXGPU is still having disconnection issues, the problem might be the Thunderbolt 4 cable especially if you’re still using the original OneX cable that came with it. I have more note in the description on the video in case something in there helps you too.
It will in the C drive - AMD - AMD Software - Packages - Drivers - Display - W INF - B##### folder - ccc2_install I’m going off memory but that trail of folders should be close enough to get you to that application file.

You are a lifesaver helping to get these drivers updated and working. Just can’t seem to get the AMD app back on my device to see what you did at the end of the video. Any advise?
😊🫶 Yes, I think the ccc2 AMD app is called something different now (I can’t remember exactly what it is off the top of my head). If you can’t see any AMD applications in a search or an icon in the bottom right tray, go back into the AMD folder with the ccc2 _app file and run the install again. If I’m doing this process again with the last set of drivers you helped me install. At the beginning when you tell us to update all drivers, do I need to erase the previous ones you helped me install or just update from armory crate and proceed?
You can update everything except for the graphics driver in armoury crate. That’ll put your original driver back. You can follow this one for the update process. It’s shorter. 😊 ruclips.net/video/tYuo2eVdcWE/видео.htmlsi=Sy0stUjdN6Yw-5Pw

Got a question and thanks a million for being a guide through the darkness. Do the One X GPU have to be connected to the internet to operate and if so, where is the menu for it?
You’re welcome! 😊 No, you don’t need to be connected to the internet. Only to get the driver downloaded for install. When I’m docked I always hard LAN connect the internet through it so that I’m getting the fastest and most stable connection. But, you don’t need to be connected to use it.
Yes, I have a few all with the OneXGPU and the the legion go. Some benchmark score pics in the channel community page posts, on the Thunderbolt 4 cables video, the review video at the end, and a cyberpunk benchmark video using the legion go as the display.
Good information on this page… I’m currently looking into putting a egpu set up together on my LG for call of duty & Warzone mainly and all other A games subscription base or from owning the game. Activision is not doing well with the game and driver issues but COD & Warzone crash on everything I put it on on my LG. From Steam, BattleNet, or GamePass Ult. I was looking at the 7900XTX Nitro+ but someone mentioned that pairing AMD GPU (AMD with AMD) with the LG for egpu is not a good idea? Would the 4070 Ti Super be best? My main concern was the VRam & I was more so looking for 20GB or 24GB if that would help run COD/Warzone now & BO6 and coming soon future releases. TV or Monitor wise... I don't own a monitor and I usually connect to my tv's which are 4K or TV's/Monitors on the go... What would be the best GPU 20GB or 24GB for eGPU (leave out the cost; what are the best ones?)
Hey! The Nvidia cards will pair better with the Legion Go. This way you can keep the original AMD driver and software while seamlessly using GeForce with Nvidia. The more Ram the better especially for a little extra future proofing. You might not want to run at 4K when you connect to your TV. With the eGPU I’d lower the resolution to 1440p or 1080p if you want even more FPS with COD. The thing with the Legion go is that the Thunderbolt 4 connection will limit the performance with a cap on any graphics card that you buy(40Gbps). Handhelds with the Oculink connection yield the best results currently because the cap is higher (60Gbps). I have 2 video that you can check out using Cyberpunk if you want to see what I mean. Same graphics card and settings with 2 different connections types. ruclips.net/video/GxPa9fHKsx0/видео.htmlsi=quu8js9_yjY1FRDn ruclips.net/video/iJU5SwjfWI0/видео.htmlsi=m4rYflZ0BU0kf6Tt
You could do a RTX 4090, 4080, or 4070 with a minimum of at least 16GB. You’ll need a Thunderbolt 4 connection for the Legion go on the enclosure but ideally you also want to have an oculink port in case you upgrade later to a device with oculink. This would bring your cap on performance from 40Gbps with Thunderbolt 4 to 60Gbps with oculink. No matter which card you get, the Legion go Thunderbolt 4 connection bandwidth will bottleneck the GPU.
Do you know what the reason would be for the "Processors with Graphics" option to not be showing up under Browse Products on the AMD website? I'm trying to get this set up with the Ally X. Hi Nelly. Thank god you're there!!! Everytime there's a window update, the original driver is installed. Is there a way to avoid this when updating system? Thanks for the great video!
Thanks! 😂💕 There are third-party programs you can use to stop it from updating. I have automatic updates turned off in both armoury crate (legion space) and windows and manually pick what to install. The driver still swaps every so often but most times you can go into device manager, display adapters, right click for properties, driver, and hit “rollback” if it’s available. That’s the quick fix.
THANK YOU SO MUCH !! This was so helpful !! Although I built my egpu myself with a RX 6750 XT, this tuto definitely got handy ! I got a couple lf questions however, if you could help: - is the combinaison (LLG graphics & Egpu) you're showing the optimal one with my RX ? - it now works but I encountered some audio stuttering. Do you know how to fix this? - is AMD settings the new AMD adrenaline installed on the device ? Is there a perk trying to reverse to the original app ? - anytime a driver is updated, do I have to do this ? Again thanks so much for your tuto !!
You’re welcome! 😊 Yes, you’ll want to side load the 7840u 780m driver with your RX 6750 XT driver for the best performance. Using the LLG official driver will cause issues. The Audio issues are typically triggers with the Spatial Audio option being turned on. Trying turning that off first to see if it fixes the issue. Also, make sure your system bios is also up to date. @@GamingRepairs after I updated both drivers to June's release, the Legion Go seems to be having issues running games on its on. Have you had this issue?
@GamingRepairs it seems to be them all. Total use of the Legion Go as a handheld is removed. I am going to try and revert back to an older driver version or I am going to try the official driver from lenovo to see if it makes a difference.
nice detailed explanation and video. do you think there could be any issues with side loading the vanilla AMD software and driver, with future BIOS updates or Legion Space updates, for that matter. Do you even use the LS or 3rd party utilities like HC, playnite, etc
Thanks! I don’t use Legion Space at all lol. It’s turned off. I do use playnite, that works good. It’s possible, but if I run into something or see comments with issues I’ll investigate and share any solution I can find. At some point I would like to see AMD fix the compatibility with the AMD Radeon graphics and 7600m XT drivers so they can be used with their AMD adrenaline program instead of manually installing amd settings app each time I update the drivers. If that happens we can all go back to the official legion go driver instead of using the 780m graphics one. That would be ideal.

i auto updated the drvers for legion go and restarted it like it said to and ive been stuck on 19% update percentage for a hour once turning it back on
Thanks Nelly Amazing video. I noticed that the legion space built in overlay fps counter does not work any more after the driver updates. Do you think there will be a work around for this in the future when Lenovo gets around to fixing the LeGo?
You’re welcome! Hopefully there will be. If AMD fixes the app that the Legion uses so that it can co-exist with the 7600m XT driver, then we could keep the AMD Radeon Graphics and that app so that the overlay would work for the Legion Go driver. It still wouldn’t work for the 7600m XT driver though unless Lenovo made it so that it would recognize other GPU’s. I’m thankful that there’s at least a workaround lol. 😊
I actually got a new one yesterday that I like even more because it fits perfect and it’s metal with pads to prevent scratches. I posted the new one on the channel community page. The one I’m using in the video, I had to cut 1/2” of black foam to raise it high enough for the fan to clear.
So its pricy but I went with the Apple Thunderbolt 4 pro cable 6ft 2.8m cable. They also make a 9ft / 3M also. It is active cable and lets me have the room to move the LeGo around the desk or go to the couch. It can provide upto 100w of power to the LeGo and has been very stable. Tried using amazon CableMatters brand and there were issues. I know $129 usd is a lot for a cable however I have about $1300 invested in this device so far.
The Razer 2M and the Apple Pro are both active cables and good but they’re expensive. It’s worth the price though if you need the length to keep a stable performance. The Razer 2M one works well for me. I picked it up for less with a birthday coupon from Razer directly.
Thanks so much for this guide! Followed it step by step and worked for me! Would like to ask also, should i change my UMA to lower or auto now that I'm using the OnexGPU? Now i am running into problems while gaming on my tv, When playing on the tv every game just closes without an error code or a crash message and the onexgpu disconnects from the tv an then reconnects by itself as if nothing happened.
Hey! What's the error code/details that you're getting? It's possible that windows update changed your Legion go driver back to the AMD Radeon Graphics one and or messed with the AMD Settings App install. That can happen with automatic windows updates on. If you're still having problem, try running through my external monitor fix video and keep going to the ccc2 file install for AMD settings again at the end: ruclips.net/video/dFGZXyIv7HI/видео.html These are a couple more things that you can try: 1. Can i get a link to that thunderbolt cable you are using there? I need a dependable cable that works with no issues. Also, that charging cable looks slick with the digital charge indicator. Where did you pick that one up?
You bet! I have both cables in the description of this video below but the Razer one is the best overall super consistent, no disconnection and both the 0.8M and the 2M are perfect. Just don’t let armoury crate or windows update your graphics driver. If it does you can try going into the device manager and rolling back the driver to see if you can easily flip it back to the 780m. Otherwise you’ll have to side load it again for the Ally. Yes, manually install the different ones instead of the install all button.
Excellent informational format followed this to the T and my systems working perfectly. Appreciate you. several questions would occulink to USB-C improve anything for the Legion go? If you run the one XGPU to an external monitor is it better to go to the oculink to HDMI route?
Hey, thanks! Oculink can only go to Oculink so it can’t be used with the Legion Go. You would need a device that also have an Oculink port like the onexplayer X1 or X1 mini, etc. For an external monitor, using the display port is better for monitors and HDMI is better for TV’s(oculink isn’t for display output). What are you using as a monitor?
Great, that’s the one you want to use for the TV. In the display settings, change the monitors to show only 2 so that the Legion go display turns off. That will help. 😊
My OneXgpu is arriving today. I'm going to use it with my Legion Go. Do you recommend using the considerably new AFMF2 experimental driver simultaneously with the OneXGpu? Great video btw.
That’s exciting! Thank you! 😊 I would recommend using the normal drivers for now. I was able to get it to work with the preview driver but others have had it mess things up with the OneXGPU and had to revert back.
Hey! I’m using an adjustable vertical laptop stand. I cut a 1/2” piece of foam and slotted it in the raise it high enough so the fan isn’t blocked. a.co/d/66ZXImO
I only have spider-man on PlayStation but that one should work on the egpu. It’s likely drivers and game patches needed for the port itself causing any issues with spider-man. Some of the Sony ports can be a little rough on pc until they sort out the glitches.
After doing all this. Updates are a lot easier going forward. I have a new driver update video that covers how to upddate without breaking this fix. It only takes me a few minutes to update now and that's only because on the actual install load time slows me down.
Hi Nelly great work!! But I'm stuck. The xconnect icon does not appear after installing the Onexgpu drivers. But I don't understand where to find the installation of the software only ccc2 alone without drivers. I've looked in the C:/AMD directory I've looked on the web...I don't know what to look for? Where to get ccc2 to make AMD icon appear after Onexgpu installation but still before Legiongo installation? Below you have replied to someone else: "If you can’t see any AMD applications in a search or an icon in the bottom right tray, go back into the AMD folder with the ccc2 _app file and run the install again. Then, restart and it should be back. " I tried once again to install the stervons with the ‘Driver Only’ option but the icon still doesn't appear and there is no AMD app in the system. Maybe I should use the Full Install option? Or maybe the problem is that I am using the latest AMD driver from 2 days ago, i.e. from 18 October 2024 - both for onexgpu and legion go.
Hey! The CCC2 file location is at the 23:44 min mark of the video. It’s in the C drive, AMD, AMD software installer, Packages, Drivers, Display, WT6A_INF, Last Folder with letters and numbers, CCC2_Install application. Try that and let me know if you’re good or if it’s still not working. I’m using the latest driver from October 18th and it’s working great. We can fix this together. 😊
Yeah, this is a new full install guide with the onexgpu and Legion go. The first install guide I did was on day 1 from the moment I plugged it in. This is a new guide with newest drivers and how to set it up right and completely the first time after everything I’ve learnt over the last almost 2 months of having it.
You’re welcome! 😊 The regular usb, no. But you can connect to a display from the extra usb c thunderbolt port on the Legion Go or another device with a free Thunderbolt 4. That wouldn’t be optimal though. You would get better performance using the display port or hdmi port out of the OneXGPU directly to an external monitor.
Hi I was following the other guide and downloaded the 780U drivers first then 7600xt and my external screen stutters a lot and flickers while on external. How can I reset everything and follow your guide from the beginning hoping that would help?
Do you know how to do a DDU? If not, I cover it in this video link and there’s a link in the description to the DDU software. Only the DDU AMD wipe will be relevant for you but it will reset you back for a clean fresh start. ruclips.net/video/QDXQdH4WUzE/видео.htmlsi=LxgidZEs8e-13tdf
Thank you Nelly, i think everything is set up following every step of this video. The only thing i couldnt get to work was the AMD settings app to appear for some reason.. i will run some games and test this out
@@GamingRepairs thank you ! though its still not there, it is working magically. Would you be doing an upload on a guide with the AFMF2 install to work with these devices also?
I haven’t had a chance to play around with it yet. Once I find some time I’ll see if I can put something together or at the very least report back to you. 😊
Amazing and easy to do. Just recieve my onexgpu today and it’s all set , but I just opened a game and I see the same performance as I did with the internal gpu😢. What tweeks I need to do to really take advantage of the egpu?
@@GamingRepairs thanks for the reply. Just finish install and tested on no rest for the wicked but I guess that game has still issues , i will test tomorrow on lords of the fallen and others and see 🤞
@@GamingRepairs is it enough on the windows settings, display, graphics to make the config for the game to use the onexgpu? Or there something else’s to know if the game is using the onexgpu and not the internal ?
@@medusasoasis It should show in the game graphics settings or display settings which one it’s using (7600m XT or 780m). In the AMD settings application you might want to double what the graphics cards are listed correctly in case they flipped around. Click on the settings gear icon, under system, hardware & drivers title - APU1 AMD Radeon 780M Graphics - GPU2 AMD Radeon RX 7600M XT Then double check in Gaming, Graphics - GPU 1 AMD Radeon 780M Graphics (Primary/Integrated/Hybrid) - GPU 2 AMD Radeon RX 7600M XT (Discrete/Hybrid/External)
Yes, it works great with the 780m. 😊 Just watch out for Windows or Armoury Crate auto updating the driver back to the official one. If it’s acting odd, always check device manager and in most cases you can “rollback” the AMD Radeon Graphics driver to the 780m which is a quick fix.
Either the windows driver auto update is turned on or Legion Space updated it. Mine has never done that but you’re not the first person to mention it happening.
Another possibly dumb question... after running the CCC2 installer, I ended up with a program called AMD Game Performance and Monitoring instead of AMD Settings. I clicked on the App to see if maybe it was just renamed but I can't seem to get it to launch.
Thanks for the detailed setup steps :) I would like to ask you about the description. Does this mean that the latest version of the graphic driver and the afmf2 driver (oct version) do not work on the legion go?
You’re welcome! 😊I’ve heard it does work with the Legion go from a friend (I sold mine to a friend) but it definitely has issues with the Rog Ally X using the internal display (I’ve tried both the preview and October).
ahh want to ask you one more thing that when other user try to set 780m driver they are reset all driver with DDU and than set new driver. is it necessary?
Nelly, Legion Space now has the official AMD driver update to download. Will this work with the Onexgpu drivers if I replace the 780M drivers with them? I can try but I need to allocate at least 30 minutes for the test and I was wondering if you have tried it yet. I just updated my 7600m xt and 780M drivers earlier this week with the latest from the AMD website using your videos as a guide and my Legion Go continues to work flawlessly in handheld and docked mode. Thank you so much for making this process so easy to follow without any interpretation or a need to think for myself! I'm grateful for your videos every day I use my Legion Go. It works so well that I use my Legion Go wayyyyyy more than my Legion Pro 7i 4090 laptop. The performance isn't nearly as good as the 4090 but the Legion Go + Onexgpu gives me the portability that I wish I had with the laptop.
You’re very welcome! 😊🙌🏻 I like this combo and use it more than my 4080 laptop. The new driver legion official driver won’t work with the onexgpu and legion go. You’ll run into problem if you switch. Amd need to fix their software and how it interacts with the Z1 extreme chip GPU and eGPUs. Save you some frustrations, don’t update it lol. 😉👍
@@GamingRepairs Thanks! I knew you are the right person to ask about this! Your videos are spot on and I can see you having 500k subscribers in the future. Glad to be here at the ground level. Keep up the great videos.
For now, yes. Unless or until amd releases a software that works with both, this is our best option using the amd settings application. But it won’t pull updates. You’ll have to download them when they release. Usually that’s around mid month every month. 😊
Hey im trying to follow this but you point and say delete this one, its not clear which one your talking about. The first delete is it the MS one or the AMD one.
@@GamingRepairs Had some issues re-did everything and it seems to be working. HDMI port seems to be only doing 100 hz i thought it was 120? Besides that its working like it should. Good video. Will be coming back as updates happen.
@@kargionit depends what your source monitor is capable of outputting for hz through hdmi. Some monitors only achieve the highest hz rating when using the display port.
If you use these drivers with the Asus Rog Ally X, it will kill your bluetooth connection to wireless earbuds, it's a Realtek issue. Everytime you pair headphones it will crash to blue screen . If you have a Ally X and are cool with using wired headphones go for it..
That’s really interesting and strange lol. Thanks for sharing!

Okay now I know why people just say to get an NVIDIA card when doing this 😂😂
Still appreciate you covering this though :)

I was unsure about the onexgpu. I had to Google it. Is it worth it for the Legion Go, what improvements does the OneXGPU offer with the Legion Go?

Psitek Aluminum Mac Mini Stand Dock Holder, Space-Saving Upright Storage for Mini PC and Laptops, Adjustable Slot Width (12-52mm/0.5-2 inch) a.co/d/0aQlrlpg
Great tutorial, got mine up and running today thanks you to you.
I’m happy to hear it! 😁👍
Just got my onexgpu and found your guide. Thank you!
You're welcome! I hope you love it!
Great guide. Just used this to set up my OneXGpu. Mine works but I can access AMD adrenaline or AMD settings even though it shows it’s installed. The Xconmect icon is there and it all works no issue, but do I need to go back and reinstall that ccc2 file?
Thanks! Yeah, just go back into the AMD folder and manually install the ccc2 file again, restart and you should be good to use the AMD settings app.
Thank you for this walk trough, also the explanations are very appreciated 🙏
You’re welcome! If you need any help, stop by and send me a note anytime. 😊
This is a great guide. I do have a question. Today my onexgpu started to flash it's led s and no longer would connect to my legion go. Is there a way to hard reset the onexgpu?
Thank you! There’s no hard reset that I’m aware of aside from unplugging it. I have a few questions to help narrow down the potential issue:

Install the september driver for 7600 and 780 but when i start a game it crash😢
Yeah…. The newest driver has the AFMF 2 loaded and breaks the two devices. I stuck a warning note in the description. You’ll want to install “previous drivers” then go to the August ones. Hopefully they fix it in the next driver update. The “preview drivers” for AFMF 2 broke everything too.
@@GamingRepairs oh thanks, i will tey this now, three jours spend to do that for nothing.

Then, restart and it should be back.
If you run into any issues, just ask and I’ll help you troubleshoot a fix. 👍

Do you have a benchmark for the onexgpu on the legion go handheld?
Yes, I have a few all with the OneXGPU and the the legion go. Some benchmark score pics in the channel community page posts, on the Thunderbolt 4 cables video, the review video at the end, and a cyberpunk benchmark video using the legion go as the display.
Good information on this page…
I’m currently looking into putting a egpu set up together on my LG for call of duty & Warzone mainly and all other A games subscription base or from owning the game.

@@GamingRepairs Okay, cool. Is there any Nvidia GPU that you would recommend for eGPU with good memory?
@@KINGOFKINGS-VAF Which egpu enclosure are you wanting to get? Some are restricted for which cards you can use.
@@GamingRepairs no preference at the moment. I was going to build base off of the GPU

I got a couple lf questions however, if you could help:
- is the combinaison (LLG graphics & Egpu) you're showing the optimal one with my RX ?
- it now works but I encountered some audio stuttering. Do you know how to fix this?
- is AMD settings the new AMD adrenaline installed on the device ? Is there a perk trying to reverse to the original app ?
- anytime a driver is updated, do I have to do this ?
Again thanks so much for your tuto !!
You’re welcome! 😊
Yes, you’ll want to side load the 7840u 780m driver with your RX 6750 XT driver for the best performance. Using the LLG official driver will cause issues.
The Audio issues are typically triggers with the Spatial Audio option being turned on. Trying turning that off first to see if it fixes the issue. Also, make sure your system bios is also up to date. If you’re still having issues, you can try this guide to see if it fixes the issue. Let me know if any of these resolve the issue. Feedback helps others. 🫶

nice detailed explanation and video. do you think there could be any issues with side loading the vanilla AMD software and driver, with future BIOS updates or Legion Space updates, for that matter.
Do you see much of a performance hit with that 2m razer cable? Been thinking about getting a longer one for couch play aswell.

Hey! What's the error code/details that you're getting?
It's possible that windows update changed your Legion go driver back to the AMD Radeon Graphics one and or messed with the AMD Settings App install. That can happen with automatic windows updates on. If you're still having problem, try running through my external monitor fix video and keep going to the ccc2 file install for AMD settings again at the end:

These are a couple more things that you can try:
1. Have you turned your Legion Go TDP down to balanced?
2. Changed Vram allocation on the Legion Go to Auto or 1GB in the bios?
Can i get a link to that thunderbolt cable you are using there? I need a dependable cable that works with no issues. Also, that charging cable looks slick with the digital charge indicator. Where did you pick that one up?
You bet! I have both cables in the description of this video below but the Razer one is the best overall super consistent, no disconnection and both the 0.8M and the 2M are perfect. Just don’t let armoury crate or windows update your graphics driver. Do certain games still not play as good with the egpu, such Spider-Man?
I only have spider-man on PlayStation but that one should work on the egpu. It’s likely drivers and game patches needed for the port itself causing any issues with spider-man. Some of the Sony ports can be a little rough on pc until they sort out the glitches.
Are you able to just refresh the drivers and update like the more powerful desktop gpus? Without having to do all those steps?
After doing all this. Updates are a lot easier going forward. I have a new driver update video that covers how to upddate without breaking this fix. It only takes me a few minutes to update now and that's only because on the actual install load time slows me down.

I tried once again to install the stervons with the ‘Driver Only’ option but the icon still doesn't appear and there is no AMD app in the system. Maybe I should use the Full Install option?

The regular usb, no. But you can connect to a display from the extra usb c thunderbolt port on the Legion Go or another device with a free Thunderbolt 4. That wouldn’t be optimal though. You would get better performance using the display port or hdmi port out of the OneXGPU directly to an external monitor.

@@medusasoasis It should show in the game graphics settings or display settings which one it’s using (7600m XT or 780m).
In the AMD settings application you might want to double what the graphics cards are listed correctly in case they flipped around. Click on the settings gear icon, under system, hardware & drivers title - APU1 AMD Radeon 780M Graphics - GPU2 AMD Radeon RX 7600M XT
Then double check in Gaming, Graphics - GPU 1 AMD Radeon 780M Graphics (Primary/Integrated/Hybrid)

Will my ally X still work without the egpu connected after I do this?
Yes, it works great with the 780m. 😊
Just watch out for Windows or Armoury Crate auto updating the driver back to the official one. If it’s acting odd, always check device manager and in most cases you can “rollback” the AMD Radeon Graphics driver to the 780m which is a quick fix.
My Legion rolled back to its original display drivers after a month or so. Why??
Either the windows driver auto update is turned on or Legion Space updated it. Mine has never done that but you’re not the first person to mention it happening.
Another possibly dumb question... after running the CCC2 installer, I ended up with a program called AMD Game Performance and Monitoring instead of AMD Settings. I clicked on the App to see if maybe it was just renamed but I can't seem to get it to launch.
I still seem to be able to access adrenaline edition by clicking the up arrow on in the task bar
