FYI, I saw Tissot respond to a social media post on the PRX the other day where a guy said if they made it in 36mm, he'd buy it instantly. Tissot told him to start saving his money. It seems pretty clear that they're making a smaller version. If it's 36mm or something a touch bigger, I do not know. This is a great comparison in the video. Both are definitely competitors. It's shocking to see the Seiko is more expensive than the Tissot, but that's how things are now a days I guess. I've tried on the Seiko, and it was pretty nice. I only had the chance to try on the PRX quartz though, but the fit was great on my 7.25" wrist. I think I would lean toward the PRX Powermatic as my blue Alpinist fits that ~39mm blue Seiko spot in my collection. I want something a bit different in style/case shape.
They made the 35mm. And only quartz version. Still don't know if they will sold the powermatic with waffle dial like this. Maybe it will be available next year
I have the black dial version of the Seiko Sharp Edge series. Just amazing dial, from a low angle the texture disappears so it's like getting two watches. Also, the case is pure class, a callout to the old King Seiko. Much prefer it because of the polish and lug shape.
For me personally, the Seiko Presage would be the watch, no contest. The dial, the finishing and polishing, the watch bracelet. I'd pay the extra for the Seiko.
I have the limited edition version of the sharp edge in black with a brown dial and gold hands and markers. It's an absolute winner! Looks much more expensive than it is!
I already own a Seiko Presage Cocktail time blue moon so while I like the sharp edge series, I am more inclined to go with the PRX. Though honestly what I am reading about the Powermatic movements and the difficulty of servicing locally, thinking about just saving a few bucks and going with the quartz.
I have the same one on my list and have noticed quite a few comments from people lately who have purchased the wwhite and talk about how much they love them.
I actually own both the exact same watches in blue dials (just collected the PRX last weekend, and the sharp edge few months back). In terms of design, I think the dial on the sharp edge looks nicer, but overall the PRX looks better. However, the dial design on the sharp edge isn't as pronounced as it looks in many videos and photos. in person, it is a bit hard to see without very bright sunlight. The bracelet is more comfortable on the sharp edge, with its lightweight and fold over clasp. The butterfly clasp on the PRX continuously digs in to the skin and it is quite uncomfortable at times, as it constantly reminds you painfully that it is there. My sharp edge initially had a problem with its movement that has since been fixed with servicing, as it would be slower by 6 minutes in just 5 days. Very unusual. Both watches are now pretty accurate.
I have the same problem with the prx, the butterfly clasp is so sharp and often pierce my skin, its getting frustrating wearing it, you have a solution?
I like the movement and dial of the Tissot, and the case of the Seiko. I wouldn't want the bracelet of either. Hang on a minute, I think what I really want is the Tissot Gentleman. Agree, the Formex is terrific
Let me get you my feedback based on my experience as a user. I have a SARX089 which is the same as the one you reviewed but with the red dial. Amazing watch and one thing that I like more over the Tissot is how it fits in my wrist. The Tissot PRX runs small, too small for my taste. A good and much cheaper alternative to the Tissot PRX is the Citizen Tsuyosa which also have an integrated bracelet, it runs larger so that fixes that problem, is cheaper and also it is offered in a lot of different dial colors.
If i have the money to buy both I would.. I love both brands tissot prx is my most favorite watch.. I would also pick seiko mini turtle & seiko snxs79 & seiko skx 007, 009 & 013 on my watch daily rotation..
Don't like the Tissot design, never liked that type of design from any brand. Love the sharp edge design of the Seiko and it would look extra beautiful if paired with a nice blue leather strap. Never liked any of Seiko's metal bracelets and clasps designs.
The Seiko seems to be just another derivative of a their presage lineup. And perhaps more accurately, just another derivative of the Rolex DJ. Don’t get me wrong, I love Seiko and own several different models, I just don’t see this as some sort of novel in-house design.

+1 black sharp edge fan here, much love for the incorporated subtle edginess of the design.
For me the seiko is by far the nicer watch, which is reflected in the relative price points. Not to say the PRX is a bad watch at all.
The Seiko dial is more interesting and mysterious. They got me for the green and the blue lol.
I love the angular modeling of the Seiko. They've done a spectacular work on this baby GS.

Great vid bud! For me Seiko takes the win! The sharp series is nuts!! I do like the PRX tho, it's still a nice piece. But that Seiko dial is just 💦💦💦

I have the SARX075 white dial. It’s gorgeous and worth the price.
I have the same one on my list and have noticed quite a few comments from people lately who have purchased the wwhite and talk about how much they love them.
Just brought the Seiko GMT version in blue because that blue dial. It's stunning.
Would pick the PRX which is rare as I love seiko!

Which one wears smaller?

@@ivanlwh17 I just ended up wearing it a bit looser
@@konadora ah okay..
Just bought the tissot prx with blue leather strap, my next watch will be the seiko pressage with a white face

Trying to work out if it’s prx auto or sarx045 or both (in a 3 watch collection) - already own the sarx045 and it’s a beauty
that tissot bracelet reminds me of some nasty invertebrates. like a centipede or lobster belly 😂😂
Which would you say wears bigger?

I like how you think!
Both nice watches, but the only turn off for me is the tissot 80.111 movement and their plastic gears. I’ll take the Seiko 6R movement over the 80.111
If you have to choose one, what will it be
Seiko carries the swing!!!! 👌

for me its seiko. sadly swiss brands are more prestigeous even with a quartz movement just because "swiss made".
One of Seiko's best watches by far. At 41mm it would be a monster hit.
Is it the early-2000's?
The Swatch group was not founded by Omega.
They founded what eventually became known as The Swatch Group
that tissot is trying to royal oak so hard

Have you had your eyes checked since making that comment?😁
Seiko presage is a lot cheaper than the TIssot PRX Powermatic here in Philippines.
Seiko by a Kilometer.
Which one of these wears smaller?
Tissot looks smaller. I'll choose that
Better for the money as it looks 3 times the price
Seiko band is too small for me. I like the robust broad bracelet of the Tissot.
