I installed this system at my house and outbuilding a month ago. Been happy with it. I hid the NVR in the pantry. I didn't want to have a display in there. Can I use the system in the video without being connected internet? I have an extra monitor that I could use to connect to the NVR and do the setup. After set-up I was thinking about running an HDMI cable from NVR to my TV, kind of how you did, but main concern is - Will it still record 24/7 without being connected to internet?
SA....Could you get us a model number for your 8mp system we will buy the same set this set his is doin a review on here is super clear even when you zoom we appreciate any info.
The 4k NVRs have the same model number but they are Hardware v2. This is important for recommending upgrades because the new 4k cameras are not decodable at max resolution on the old NVR as well as the video output is only supported up to 1080p on the V1 NVRs. Currently only ship V2 8ch NVRs but they still ship V1 and V2 16Ch NVRs so make sure you have the correct model if your not purchasing a package.
Have to admit those Cameras look awesome! I install CCTV for a living and I typically use Hikvision and that brand just wants too much for a 5MP IP Camera. My current system on my house is a bunch of leftovers from Customers that have gotten upgraded systems.
Ive been installing for about 13 years and I mostly recommend and install Reolink now, even for med sized businesses. The Hikv cams I use sometimes for one off remote mount or thermal cameras but all the others usually Reolink. Its also notable you will find some similarities between brands because they have the same manufacturer such as Qcam(Amcrest) and Reolink, Sannce and Annke etc.. The vendors I stay away from are Avigilon and Samsung, overpriced even when they do work well.
Thank you for this concise video. Do you have any review on the newer Reolink system for 2022? I noticed that Amazon has Reolink 4K cameras with PoI IP capability and I am not sure how that capability is of benefit.
Very informative review. I can't imagine why a few people gave it a thumbs done. Answered all my questions and allows you to see it in action. Thank you very much. Just bought a 16 channel Reolink unit. RLK16-800B8

Reolink phone app is also awesome. I have a camera pointed to my front door, motion only. It will email to a gmail account that I have set-up for the NVR only. Great for documenting and getting an offsite backup of people who approach the front door.
Absolutely! Own it yourself. Do your own thing. I do highly recommend the later one I linked in the description that has person and vehicle detection built in.
Nice job Travis- quick, clear and concise. After experiencing a failure just last night of my 4 camera Analog NightOwl system - I certainly am considering the Reolink as a possible swap-out solution. I definitely want to take advantage of the break-out capacity of the IP cameras individually!
Thanks! Reolink definitely needs to keep the local control thing going in all models. They leave a lot of money on the table otherwise. If you have any other questions on something let me know as I had way more footage captured of the interface than could make it in the video.
Don't do Reolink... good and cheap, but Dahua or Hikvision with BlueIris are well worth it! Note: I don't have the 4k Reolinks, i guess they are technically 2k (one model before) and they have improved in the 4k. The image quality of the Dahua 1080P Starlights are still way better than the couple 4k Reolinks i have.
I agree on the BlueIris if you have the knowledge level to do it. Some folks just want a system to plug it in and go. I run some Reolinks and Amcrest cameras on Blue Iris and love it. But with that said was I going to put in Blue Iris at this remote location? Nope. This was the answer based on future support and ease of management by the non techy user. Definitely going to be my go to box I put in for users.
@@marcusone1 I don't have enough processing power to dedicate to BlueIris right now. The nice thing about the NVR is it is reliable, compared to the services I run myself. :) The picture quality on the B800 cameras are incredible!
Love your videos. Can you answer how or if the mobile app would support 2 nvrs, each with 2 cameras? I'm hoping it would be an easy interface to simultaneously see all 4 cameras from both nrvs.
Absolutely, it's pretty slick too! All integrates together on both the PC and the phone app in one spot. I have a couple different locations in mine and it works fine.
The cameras and nvr is great. I had to turn off my push notifications for the motion alert. Clouds would come and change the light which would trigger the motion every second.
Thank you! Awesome video. It is very informative. Reolink really come a long way with the 4k technology and a wide variety of cameras. I understand their NVR are only wired and to use their wireless products, you have to rely on their apps.
@@digiblurDIY Really? That's awesome. Wireless like doorbells and other cameras? I thought the Lorex uses the "fusion" NVR for combining wireless with wired
Great and detailed video, thank YOU!! That system look pretty clear to me. I went with the 8 cam, 16 ch, 4tb. My question is, if I use the WiFi and there WiFi has an interruption. Will it continue to record if the system is wired to my house?
@@digiblurDIY thanks man!!! May I ask if you are still using this system? I'm trying to gauge how long these will last. I currently have a qsee DVR system going past 9 years. 3 cameras recently stopped working. So Friday I'm getting this new one installed.
Great video, thanks for the info. What type of connection do you need between the computer and NVR to use the app? I'm wondering how close my computer needs to be to the NVR to use it that way. Thanks.
@@digiblurDIY OK so I'm gathering from what you've said that the PC app is accessed remotely over the network/internet and not via a cable between the computer and the NVR. That's great, and it's a key point for whether I buy this or not. I want to be able to use the PC app from a different room than the NVR.
I think I'm going to pull the trigger on the 4 camera pack, will the NVR store video for about 6 months? what do you recommend for storage, thanks. I have an old set of cameras cctv mounted, not sure they even work, should be just plug and play right w/new cameras and new DVR? thanks gr8 video
I prefer the 810B4-A This is one of the latest models.it has face and car recognition, zoom, 4K quality, smart playback with filters and up to 100ft in the dark.
A pretty good system, have had mine for about 5 years! The software is very basic and hard to deal with. The instructions for adding cameras are horrible, but RUclips has s good supply of installation videos!
Yep! Great little systems to throw in. Mostly plug and play for the cameras from what I've found unless you've filled it up already or maybe some odd ball setup?
Just to be clear, you don't need a computer? The NVR does the processing so that, as you showed in the beginning of the video, you can simply connect the NVR directly to a TV and monitor, playback live or recorded footage??
Thanks for the info. So you have 4 Ethernet wires from the cameras coming through a hole in the wall to connect to the NVR? No one ever shows this part or how it will look. Also, guessing the NVR would have to be close or same room to the router?
Yep. 4 ethernet wires to the camera. You can run one up to 300 ft. And the same goes for the connection to the network. You can use either a 6 foot cable or say a 200 ft cable to connect it to your router for remote viewing.
I’m looking into this system as well. I’ve read you can hook the cameras to a switch then just run one cable to the nvr. This is what I plan on doing for cable management.
Can you set this up to be to a VGA monitor live at all times. Then multi feed to HDMI to a TV? I want to have full CCTV in our master closet hidden and out of sight, but have the option to connect to HDMI on our TV in the living room with out disrupting the VGA monitor. In case we need or want to see something with out having to run into the room.
Works just fine as long as the VGA monitor supports the resolution you select. My test screen only supported 1080 max and I had to adjust the output of the NVR to 1080p and it showed both HDMI and VGA at the same time. Pretty slick!
Travis, Thanks for the video. With Reolink are you able to use your phone to view and aim the camera during installation if using an extension CAT cable isn't doable.
Travis, Great video. While most of us "tinkerers" like to custom configure a solution, this looks like a good solution for the mainstream population (i.e., our family members). Strange thing on the NVR only working with certain wireless mice. Always enjoy your outtakes too. 😂
Thinking it just needs a super generic basic mouse and not one with extra features. Definitely hits the spot for me to put in at various family members/friends with little to no support from me.
Hi great video thanks for uploading. So to monitor the cameras from the NVR I see there’s a HDMI and VGA output. Do you know if these 2 will output at the same time? For example, can I view the cameras on an old pc monitor in one room (VGA) and also my Tv (in another room using HDMI) at the same time? Subscribed 👍🏻

I bought the reolink NVR RLK8-800B4 with additional two more cameras..(6 in total).. And installed ourselves. Easy job. Now I have to work on fine tuning the settings. Any recommendations on the settings? I'm in Australia and found Reolink to be better than the Swann and alot cheaper than the Swann. Swann is overrated and over priced. Reolink easy to install and quick delivery from Amazon Australia 👍 Thank you for the video clip.
I’m new to this type of security camera technology. I hear a lot of acronyms being used during the review. Can any of the cameras on this neolink system be monitored from a smart phone remotely?
I don’t have internet where I want to install this. My question is, can I buy this system and only use the nvr with an hdmi connection to my living room TV? Will it still continuously record without internet? Will jt stop recording if I change my tv over to HDMI to watch the cameras? Thanks.
@@digiblurDIY all of that is software tricks. I need to know of this system has a PIR sensor or a regular motion sensors. PIR will only respond to heat source like human or animal or a car heat. No need for so called human detection. Cheaper too. Amazon Blink cameras use that type. Works great. Ever got any mowing tree branches or a flying cloud alarms
@@digiblurDIY evolved or devolved ? Most cameras today use software to detect motion. It's cheaper that way but no where near as effective. In the dark, where shape cannot be clearly distinguished, software wont work without bright night vision. Night vision on most cameras these days is also isnt true IR. You see the red lights ? If it's IR, how can your eye possibly see it ? You can see it on the camera giving away it's position. Can't see it on the blink camera. So what we covered today is: Fake IR and software motion detection is garbage. Real IR and PIR is what you'd expect from a premium brand like reolink. If they don't have it, there is a ton of Chinese brands thatt are just as good. I have an nvr from China, my one and only complaint is no PIR. Everything else is just as good as reolink.
The 8MP ones will get a little wider view angle compared to their 5MP and then you do get a little more digital zoom when needed. Really depends but you can mix and match things if you want to.
Thanks great video. I saw you ran the hdmi to your main tv. I don't have that option.I heard you mention google assistant. Is there another way to stream the video to other monitors,tv's? Thank you
We were going to run HDMI over ethernet cable but found the HDMI 25 ft cable worked just fine. Think you could do an ethernet cable? I was talking about Home Assistant and integrating it with home automation stuff. You could use the computer app too on the other TVs.
Excellent video, Quick question, I’m torn between buying a refurbish computer and installing Blue iris or buying a Reolink system. The one thing I read, on a Blue Iris system you can set lower recording speeds for standard recording and a higher recording speed for motion alerts. Are you able to do the same on a Reolink system to save diskspace?
You can but that takes a lot of processor power to encode the video. In blue Iris I use the direct to disk option. This one shows a bit of it . ruclips.net/video/9PnmEOA3sHE/видео.html
So, I'm not too tech involved, but if I were to buy this system and wire in 4 cameras, I can download an app to say, my phone or iPad, and set everything up?
Yep. Pretty flexible. I do find the initial setup easier with a TV plugged in at least temporarily. Allows you to scan the QR code to your phone too for easy adding. I highly recommend the later version (video linked in the description of this one) with the person and vehicle detection.
@@digiblurDIY oh, awesome! I ask, because I watched another vid where the guy said this system can only run on Windows? I think? I know what Windows is, but not sure what that means.
thanks for the video. do i have to install any app on the monitor to view the motion. also, is this kit suitable for place that doesnt have wifi? and do we have any selection choice of camera because i don’t need all 4 or 8 cameras.
Appreciate the review! Can you install without a monitor hooked up and do the setup all on a desktop instead? Just don't have a smaller monitor handy to take to where we are installing the Hard Drive box.
Travis, Do you think you could build the same quality NVR System for less money by purchasing the parts individually (NVR, Cameras, Ethernet Cable, POE switch), instead of going with a prepackaged bundle from 1 manufacturer?
At 4:30, Upper left corner: Is this system prime power really 220 VAC or is the diagram for a Euro model? I downloaded the specs .pdf and it doesn't mention the prime power requirements.
Thx for the awsome video mate! Very useful info. I do hope you have the time to reply. Thx once again!
1. You can put a password on the HDMI output, app, GUI, etc. 2. The with zoom part is going to be tough without IR lighting up things for you. Have you checked out any of these? ruclips.net/video/avIzrQOkI9E/видео.html

Can you remote into the NVR? Eg have the NVR placed X on ethernet connection, then from another PC in the house access the videos off of it? Nvm you covered it in the video : )
Hi thank you for video. I have some questions Shall we use regular utp cable instead of cables in the pack? If yes straight cable connection is work or need special combination? What tipe of utp cables are recomended for better vision quality cat5-6 etc. What is limitation for cable lenght for each cam. Thank you
The cables in the pack work fine. For wiring I run myself I use cat5e as it is capable of gig speeds and cameras only handshake at 100mbit so it is perfect. Just use solid copper. Not copper clad aluminum.
GREAT Job creating this video. Maybe I missed this but I have a few questions. I would like to get one of these systems for when we are out on vacation. Would there be a notification sent to our phones if there is activity on a camera? Is there also a Door bell device like "ring" or something to their system we could use?
Yes. You can receive video and notifications as long as your phone has internet connectivity and the NVR at home does. I have just heard from another user they used the Amcrest doorbell with this unit.
Hi, thanks for the presentation. Do these cameras have the night color option? I want to catch any nightime wildlife in color, what would be the best camera you have seen yet, is it the Hikvision ColorVu?
@@digiblurDIY Thanks for taking the time to make the video I have the 8 camera kit and I am getting ready to install it this week. Do you recommend all 8 wires go to a POE switch and one wire to the NVR or all 8 wires go directly to the nvr? My NVR and router will be about 40' away from each other
Reolink actually has an article on this. They don't recommend more than 2 or 3 cameras on one port. I would run them all back to the NVR myself. Keeps that reliability factor up.
@@digiblurDIY I really appreciate the fast response but I am a little confused now. I thought each camera would be given its own port through my router. This cannot be accomplished by running all 8 cameras into an 8 way switch and running 1 cat 6 into the NVR?
It's due to the bandwidth limits. The cameras could spike and cause issues and dropped frames. support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/900000537406-How-to-Connect-PoE-Switch-Router-and-PoE-NVR
But if the video is recorded at the same distance with optical zoom camera, is the same problem, no? Because with optical zoom, you see if you zoom it on live view.
On most camera systems you are going to have a slight delay but it shouldn't be more than a second or so. This mainly deals with the encoding of video for compression to store the video.
Do all of these systems use the same firmware? I have a Swann system and the interface from the NVR is EXACTLY the same. Also, did you do a review of the mobile app somewhere? All of these NVR systems suffer the same problem- really bad mobile apps.
Maybe the SDK is the same but I know Reolink has their own NVR firmware and updates. I showed the app briefly in this one and probably showed it a bit more in other reolink videos. I will say actually this app is pretty good. Simple to use and they actually updated it recently after I called them out about the bright white mode, they have a dark mode now. Might have been a coincidence or maybe not.
Absolutely identical to the Swann user interface and PC application. This is an issue because I am trying to change away from Swann as the Swann HD system I have is brutal.
Just moved into a new home and the seller left these cameras installed already I have the view on my screen but can’t do nothing else what’s the next steps I need to do ?
I purchased this system in 2020 and it worked great. At least up until Jan 12 2021. Thats when Adobe Flash Player was turned off. Now the only way I can communicate with the cameras is with an app on my Android cell phone. I used to be able to call up the cameras on my PC by going to its IP address and I can still do that. However I have to allow Flash to run before I can be fully connected. Since Flash is no more I'm SOL. Apparently the built in software of the cameras use Flash. The NVR also no longer works with any camera I have including the 4 cameras that came with the system. I've gone to their support site but couldn't find anything addressing the Flash issue. If anyone has any information about this I would appreciate knowing what/if any solution there is.
There is no need to cut off the ethernet ends and go through all the trouble of re-wiring them to the new ethernet ends so that you can use the waterproof boots. If you're a lazy pos like me, just use a razor blade to slice off the corners of the ethernet end so that it is smaller and more round in shape. It will fit right through the boots after that. Who cares if it doesn't look as nice. No one is ever going to see it anyway. It's going to be inside the waterproof boot. You're welcome.

I’m looking for an 8 chanel 4 camera 4k. Cameras need to have spotlights two way talk and sirens. I’ve been looking on Amazon but haven’t come across a bundle like this. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks for your help
For the indoor one we tried the E1 Pros (did a review on those a few months back). For outdoor I would stick with their RLC-410W model. You can go with other cameras that are WiFi onvif/rtsp but if you want to make it easy and plug and play it makes sense to keep the brands matching. amzn.to/2GFNEsM
The 4K cams we installed have a max 20fps setting when on 4K, they will go higher if you set the resolution down of course. The 5MP ones we added to the system go to 30 fps.
That is most likely due to it using the lower resolution substreams of the cameras to process the 8 at a time. You can up the bit rate of the substream. Very common for camera systems to use the lower resolution in thumbnail viewing.
That I don't know. I didn't cut into them. I don't believe it is a requirement in all locations as many don't even require permits for low voltage work. With that said I always run solid copper myself when running new cameras.

Completely new to this. I was looking at Ring with cameras but hacking has steered me to PoE. So I would mount the "hub" someplace secure and bolt it down? If not, couldn't a thief just take it along with the evidence? Or does it have to be near the TV or monitor to view? Thanks.
You can really place it wherever you want. But it would make sense to hide in a very odd spot yet still be able to run wires to it. You can run HDMI pretty far like we did to a TV, but you can always view via PC and/or mobile apps too.
I have Ring and Reolink. I recommend Reolink its better. The app is faster and more responsive. Ring takes ages to load to the live video feed. Ring also is tied into a subscription model without local storage. Reolink doesn't tie you too a subscription

We had to cut ours down to various cams and locations. It can be a balancing act with various sensors
Thank you! Awesome video. It is very informative. Reolink really come a long way with the 4k technology and a wide variety of cameras. I understand their NVR are only wired and to use their wireless products, you have to rely on their apps.
Their NVR also works with some of the wireless products as well.
@@digiblurDIY Really? That's awesome. Wireless like doorbells and other cameras? I thought the Lorex uses the "fusion" NVR for combining wireless with wired
Yep. I have a Duo across the yard via WiFi on one. It scans both sides of the network connection.
@@digiblurDIY awesome. I just bought a 6 camera bundle. I’m hoping the 5x optical zoom is what I hope it is
Great and detailed video, thank YOU!! That system look pretty clear to me. I went with the 8 cam, 16 ch, 4tb.
My question is, if I use the WiFi and there WiFi has an interruption. Will it continue to record if the system is wired to my house?
If the cameras are wired, yes it will still record just fine. I have installed these in locations with no wifi or internet connection.
@@digiblurDIY thanks man!!! May I ask if you are still using this system? I'm trying to gauge how long these will last. I currently have a qsee DVR system going past 9 years. 3 cameras recently stopped working. So Friday I'm getting this new one installed.

Do these cameras detect audio? Fantastic video and thanks for the honest un biased review.
They record audio, but I don't remember seeing a trigger on audio option.
@@digiblurDIY you did a good job with this review bro.
Great video, thanks for the info. What type of connection do you need between the computer and NVR to use the app? I'm wondering how close my computer needs to be to the NVR to use it that way. Thanks.
It can be as far or as near as you want. Local or across the world. The PC app works.
@@digiblurDIY OK so I'm gathering from what you've said that the PC app is accessed remotely over the network/internet and not via a cable between the computer and the NVR. That's great, and it's a key point for whether I buy this or not. I want to be able to use the PC app from a different room than the NVR.
Right... connect the NVR to the router and access it via any mobile phone/pc app, as long as you have the ID and password of course.
Thanks for informative video.
What is the newest model and what tips for getting cctv cameras?
This one ruclips.net/video/rFRntrwgT7Y/видео.html
I think I'm going to pull the trigger on the 4 camera pack, will the NVR store video for about 6 months? what do you recommend for storage, thanks. I have an old set of cameras cctv mounted, not sure they even work, should be just plug and play right w/new cameras and new DVR? thanks gr8 video
I would roll with what it comes with, 2TB I believe and see how it works out for you then add if needed.
If money wasn’t to worry about would you recommend this system or the 5mp?
I prefer the 810B4-A
This is one of the latest models.it has face and car recognition, zoom, 4K quality, smart playback with filters and up to 100ft in the dark.
A pretty good system, have had mine for about 5 years! The software is very basic and hard to deal with. The instructions for adding cameras are horrible, but RUclips
has s good supply of installation videos!
That is correct. You can pick where to view it. TV, phone, app, etc.
I must ask, does the Reolink require a subscription of any sorts?
No. Unless you get into the cloud storage cameras which these are not.
Not really sure on that one. I don't have a VGA to test unfortunately.
Works just fine as long as the VGA monitor supports the resolution you select. My test screen only supported 1080 max and I had to adjust the output of the NVR to 1080p and it showed both HDMI and VGA at the same time. Pretty slick!
Travis,
Thanks for the video. With Reolink are you able to use your phone to view and aim the camera during installation if using an extension CAT cable isn't doable.
You would need to power the camera and connect it to the the NVR in some manner otherwise the phone wouldn't be able to see it.
Excellent, thanks for the detailed review.
@@digiblurDIY i ordered the mouse on the link and did not work
Hi great video thanks for uploading.
Hmmm...let me see if I can find a VGA monitor.
Works just fine as long as the VGA monitor supports the resolution you select. My test screen only supported 1080 max and I had to adjust the output of the NVR to 1080p and it showed both HDMI and VGA at the same time. Pretty slick!
@@digiblurDIY hey that’s great. That’s so good to know. Thanks for taking the time to confirm that. Really appreciate it!
Reolink easy to install and quick delivery from Amazon Australia 👍
Thank you for the video clip.
Thanks for the response and glad it is working out for you.
yes .. if you click on the individual camera and find the back light setting , set it to dynamic.. i found this worked great a bit like a HDR setting.
That desktop app is a nice feature. The Zmodo NVRs don’t have that.
I’m new to this type of security camera technology. I hear a lot of acronyms being used during the review. Can any of the cameras on this neolink system be monitored from a smart phone remotely?
Yes. I do show the part with the smartphone app.
Great Product. Had a similar system which didn’t compare with REOLINK.
I don’t have internet where I want to install this. My question is, can I buy this system and only use the nvr with an hdmi connection to my living room TV? Will it still continuously record without internet? Will jt stop recording if I change my tv over to HDMI to watch the cameras? Thanks.
Yep. It will work fine. You might have to manually set the date and time on it.
Wow there's an REOLink Ultra ? Yesss !
Ultra?
Does it give you alarms when it rains or when cloud moves over casting a shadow ?
Using the newer model with person and vehicle detection is great.
I would look into battery based cameras if you want PIR as the current ones evolved to AI
So what we covered today is:
Fake IR and software motion detection is garbage.
Real IR and PIR is what you'd expect from a premium brand like reolink.
If they don't have it, there is a ton of Chinese brands thatt are just as good. I have an nvr from China, my one and only complaint is no PIR. Everything else is just as good as reolink.
All depends on your use case. Reolink makes PIR based cameras though if you need that feature. I prefer the real events myself.
Is it worth going with 8mp system or is 5mp enough? Is 8mp that much clearer compare to 5mp for use outside of the house?
The 8MP ones will get a little wider view angle compared to their 5MP and then you do get a little more digital zoom when needed. Really depends but you can mix and match things if you want to.
Excellent video landed up buying the four camera system after watching this easy install playback and notifications are spot on thank you
Awesome! Thanks for the feedback!
SO THIS CAN BE CONNECTED 2 A MONITOR AND AN APP ON YOUR PHONE?HOW MUCH IS IT
Yep. Both at the same time. Depends on the model and size you get.

Great video thanks. What upload speeds would I need to view the cameras remotely?
You can set the substreams pretty low from what I recall. Like 128kbps or less.
@@digiblurDIY great thanks!

@@digiblurDIY outstanding! So, I don't need a Windows computer, or whatever that guy mentioned about Windows?
That's correct. No computer needed.
Does every camera need to be plugged into the NVR? Or is another PoE switch and being on the same network enough?
Nope. The NVR will search the wired and wireless of your network for cameras to add too. All your choice.

thanks for the video. do i have to install any app on the monitor to view the motion. also, is this kit suitable for place that doesnt have wifi? and do we have any selection choice of camera because i don’t need all 4 or 8 cameras.
No app needed, you could just use the TV/Monitor output. No WiFi on this model so you are good. You can buy the NVR and cameras separate.
Appreciate the review! Can you install without a monitor hooked up and do the setup all on a desktop instead? Just don't have a smaller monitor handy to take to where we are installing the Hard Drive box.
Yes..absolutely. The PC app lets you change everything.
I think you said that wrong about the grid for detecting motion. The areas which you dont want to be motion detected have the grid.
Travis, Do you think you could build the same quality NVR System for less money by purchasing the parts individually (NVR, Cameras, Ethernet Cable, POE switch), instead of going with a prepackaged bundle from 1 manufacturer?
Not really sure, haven't priced it myself but it would let you mix and match cameras based on the needs of the location.
At 4:30, Upper left corner: Is this system prime power really 220 VAC or is the diagram for a Euro model? I downloaded the specs .pdf and it doesn't mention the prime power requirements.

Shall we use regular utp cable instead of cables in the pack? If yes straight cable connection is work or need special combination?
What tipe of utp cables are recomended for better vision quality cat5-6 etc.

The cables in the pack work fine. For wiring I run myself I use cat5e as it is capable of gig speeds and cameras only handshake at 100mbit so it is perfect. Just use solid copper. Not copper clad aluminum.
Thank you so much.
Possibly but it sounds like you don't have much light. I would probably stick to something with a starlight lens.
Great video! Just got mine today.
Is there a 'Ring"-type camera that isn't subscription based that you could set up to this system?
I have heard people using the Amcrest doorbell cameras.
@@digiblurDIY Thanks for taking the time to make the video I have the 8 camera kit and I am getting ready to install it this week. Do you recommend all 8 wires go to a POE switch and one wire to the NVR or all 8 wires go

Not with the standard 8MP cams, you'll need to get one that has optical zoom or even a LPR style camera to do so.

Is the wired video monitor zero latency? How is the latency on the mobile app?

They should have included ones that fit like some other companies did but....I do like your little hack as well. Thanks!

May I know the max.frame rate ?, max.bitrate ? on 4k (3840 x 2160) for each of the 8 Channels.
The 4K cams we installed have a max 20fps setting when on 4K, they will go higher if you set the resolution down of course. The 5MP ones we added to the system go to 30 fps.
I noticed that when I am viewing the cameras in 8 mode the larger image is pixilated and not as clear, did you experience the same picture quality.
That is most likely due to it using the lower resolution substreams of the cameras to process the 8 at a time. You can up the bit rate of the substream. Very common for camera systems to use the lower resolution in thumbnail viewing.
Are the included cables cheap CCA (copper clad aluminum) or code compliant solid copper?
That I don't know. I didn't cut into them. I don't believe it is a requirement in all locations as many don't even require permits for low voltage work. With that said I always run solid copper myself when running new cameras.
For the bullet cameras, a criticism is that you’ll have to clean spider webs a lot! Cuz of the structure! That’s a huge turn off! Thoughts?
Really a problem for any camera that attracts bugs.

Cat5 is fine unless you have some severe interference issue as cameras only connect at 100mbit handshake anyways which is well below what cat5 can do.
Completely new to this. I was looking at Ring with cameras but hacking has steered me to PoE.
So I would mount the "hub" someplace secure and bolt it down? If not, couldn't a thief just take it along with the evidence? Or does it have to be near the TV or monitor to view?

You can really place it wherever you want. But it would make sense to hide in a very odd spot yet still be able to run wires to it. You can run HDMI pretty far like we did to a TV, but you can always view via PC and/or mobile apps too.

I know they upgraded the 5MP ones. The specs on the 511 cams show 25. I do need to do some digging to upgrade this NVR as well. Thanks the update on the mouse as they did change it a couple times.
Can you see what version/model your cameras are on the GUI? support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/sections/360002374874-Firmware
@@digiblurDIY The model: B800 and the Fw Version: v2.0.0.610_19121001
and the Hw No. IPC_5158MP8M if its needed. Thanks
Looks like the last update was support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/900000744606-04-22-2020-Firmware-for-B800-D800-IPC-5158MP8M-
@@digiblurDIY OK, got it. Thank you very much.
You can in fact still use RTSP to access feeds from each camera.
Yep. The NVR enables that. You can't take the cameras standalone and do that unless you get the 5MP ones.
What size diameter hole do you need to make in order to get those 3 wires through the wall?
Which 3 wires? The camera? I usually use a 1.25 inch paddle bit as it gives me plenty of room for any boots and or wires.
digiblurDIY Awesome thank you very much
Is it possible to add an ONVIF compliant camera to this system already using the 4k non ONVIF compliant cameras?
Yes, I didn't have any issue adding a couple of ONVIF cameras to it that were other brands.
