I have no farmland to trap except a couple of my own hayfields. Most of my trapping is in the woods in the mountains. I love trench sets up against a logging road bank. Works great for a rookie like me. I do all my winterizing with non ionized salt and pure calcium chloride. Due to to the terrain here any trap that is not right on top of the ground gets that frozen layer after rain due to the dirt washing in on top. My traps never freeze under that layer but that layer has cost me a couple dogs and a monster bobcat this year. My Moultrie Edge Pro cameras have been a game changer for me especially since I work 65 hours a week...lol..... BTW, got my 6th dog Saturday night for my rookie trapping year this year only running 8 traps on 60 acres. Pretty proud of that. Duke 650 pro OS are the cats meow!! Bought a Duke 550 and an MB 550 and a NO BS and I like the MB and the Duke 550 but haven't got them in the ground... The no BS has a leg breaker spring set up but the trap is crude I think....
That’s some dang good numbers for that many traps. I’ve never used the No bs before. I love my 550s way too much to potentially waste money on any other trap lol. Congrats on your critters and tight chains my friend!
@phillipadkins5950 I have always hunted and fished for everything possible, but trapping is by far my favorite. The traps hunt while you are sitting back relaxing. And if you can swing good cameras, you are always there, so to speak. I like Moultrie Edge Pro. You can pull a live picture if you know how to trick the app. And the newest ones have live access built in. Their service is the cheapest too. Spring for lithium ion batteries, they save money in the long run. Take time making sets. Bed your traps rock solid!!! I have never had but one trap dug up and a coon did that. I spend at least 30 minutes making a new set. Then if weather doesn't mess it up, leave it alone and don't walk up to it. I have caught K9 on 6 week old set. Here in NC once rifle season cranks up they get harder to catch. Too many deer carcasses to feed on and then mating season. They seem to not be as interested in food then. But you can get a few on gland lures. Thats just my limited experience. Good luck!
I'm loving the way the weather patterns move across, and then you follow with the videos. Giving me great insight into what I've done right or wrong on this end of the state. The frozen dirt was exactly what I had up here!! Are you using a 1 1/2" auger on your trench sets? Finally got a 1/2" drill and I'm loving mine just trying to figure which size to use on what sets??
Are you relocating them? Can you suggest the leg holds and bait? I have some i went to send to rehabbers for the stupid mangy. But I am not trying to kill but help. Lmk how to get better info about bait/foot hold.
I haven’t tallied them all up. But it is a bunch lol. And no doubt! It’s coming a lot faster than I thought, I’ve still got a few things to do before they’re available. But, they are DEFINITELY coming
I have a red fox I need to catch. I have 3 #1 1/2 badger coil spring traps and some of the cavens bait and lures I seen on your other video. How should I set and bait these traps for a red fox here in NC? I have tried a dirt hole with just bait and a live chicken in a box trap with buried foot holds and no luck. Any advice and detailed information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Honestly, I wouldn’t worry too much about it. I’d reset it right where the trap is already at. But if you’re worried about it, I’d pull the set, rinse it off with water, and let the trap sit out for a few days.
He didn't dig it up because he smelled it. He dug it up because it was not bedded solid. I'll almost absolutely garauntee it. Pack around those Jaws, then pack some more.
Great video. I just picked up a string of farms mostly for muskrats / beaver / mink but I’m hoping to (finally) pick up some raccoons and maybe my first fox. I’m assuming you have a video on how to make a trench set, so now I’m gonna go look for that!
Ciao!! How are you? In my farm in italy is so many foxes, and they eat up our chickens all the time. Can u send me the link of the bait you use? Have a good one!
4:52 we'll get him taken care of? what does that mean? taken care of??? what's going on? Ok, seriously now, question: What works better those traps here, which seem labor intensive or the havahart type cages? which are so much easier. I hate foxes. We lost a chicken last week, and the fox is still stalking my rabbits
Those cage traps do work, however it’s hard to convince a smart predator to walk into a cage. The foothold traps (the traps I use) are way more efficient for catching the animal that’s getting your chickens and rabbits. Best of luck!!
Thanks for the great video been trying to catch my first fox and i caught one but i must have caught it by one of the toes and it got out and then had one dig up my trap...LOL
I see you have been using a cage trap right after trapping what is the reason unless it is for relocation of the animal area does your state allow relocation of the animal to other states that require it to be shot on-site? Unless you do it for RUclips reasons that is the only reason I can see why unless you are allowed to relocate in your state. Do you have the rapid growth of the hog epidemic in your state yet? Sincerely! R.S.V.

I’m starting my trapping tomorrow for the first time. I’m excited.

Yes, using the smaller auger bit for the trench sets
Great video!! Do you sell there hides???
Excellent job!! Enjoyed it as always
Thank you!
Great job man, you are slamming the critters with your sets & bait combo’s !! 🤗
Looking forward to the mystery critter ! 👀
Thank you!!
Are you relocating them? Can you suggest the leg holds and bait? I have some i went to send to rehabbers for the stupid mangy. But I am not trying to kill but help. Lmk how to get better info about bait/foot hold.
What size drill bit are you using for your hole set?
3in and 1.5in are the sizes that I use
How many foxes did you catch so far this season? Also you are getting close to 10k subscribers so I see the T-shirts coming soon baby!
I haven’t tallied them all up. But it is a bunch lol. And no doubt! It’s coming a lot faster than I thought, I’ve still got a few things to do before they’re available. But, they are DEFINITELY coming
Great job! And then what happens to the coyotes and foxes? Are they sold live or how are they used? 😎👍 🦊🐺
Thank you! They’re relocated

Try a trench set! They’re my go to for a red fox
Nice work i had a Gray fox dig up my trap and P on it what do I need to do to get the small off of the trap

@@CarolinaCoyote OK thank you

As a trapper myself I’ve never seen someone keep them alive… what do you do with them after that?
Can I ask how you dispatch the coyote and foxes? Do you want to save their hides from having holes in them?
You are absolutely mopping up the foxes this season! Nicely done, Isaac!
Thank you!
How many does it take to say “mopping them up”?
@@saltwateriv5735 I’d go with 10

Another great video brother!!!
Thank you!!
Do yall have live market for Reds? If so whats average for each vs coyotes?
What do you do with them? Release?
Release them to the fox god
Another good video man!!! Got to get mine back out since all that rain is finally gone.
I reset 8 traps yesterday after work. We had a 20% chance of rain. And of course, it rained where I just got through resetting🤦♂️
Do you ever get rabid red fox’s, caught my first one today and he looked like he was having a seizure but he was a pretty red
Never have!
@ I guess it’s more common up here in New York
Nice catches 👍💯🇺🇸
Thank you!

Have a good one!
TOP DOG PREDATOR BAIT and VIXIN ELIXER made by Hoosier Trapper Supply
Do you get paid to trap for homeowners??
Not usually. Only time I do is if they want raccoons removed or if the farm is a long drive from me
super dope intro
When in the intro, I said, bedding the trap "way" too deep.
It’s about 10x wetter in northern Ky right now!
how to set the trap to not catch cats?
Thought you were going to say you were taking coyote scat make ash tray or something lol
Hahaha absolutely not😂

Hell ya!
Ole Reds got more fight than a coyote it seems. They always ready to go lol
No doubt about that lol
@saltwateriv5735 it was a mess
thank you...

The only thing I caught this week was a buzz.
Don't worry I ant trying it
Haha good deal
