I put extra weather stripping in my compartment hatches and so far so good. Everything has stayed dry even after a two day storm where I couldn't cover the boat. That said I always air out compartments after a day on the water, which never hurts. They can sweat under certain conditions so I keep them aired out and it seems to work.
Welcome Heath! I used weather stripping like what is at the following link: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FQ5A5RM?pf_rd_r=W86554J6A3Q6FENRDJSB&pf_rd_p=8fe9b1d0-f378-4356-8bb8-cada7525eadd&pd_rd_r=38b766f9-55d2-4737-abee-ee346291b5cb&pd_rd_w=3nhkK&pd_rd_wg=6YyZ7&ref_=pd_gw_unk
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, I ordered my Tracker Pro Team 195 TXW Tournament Edition bass boat today. I found the information you delivered very enlightening, and will go over it in detail in the future as I proceed. Thank you.for sharing your knowledge and wisdom.
That's awesome, Ron. Did they give you a delivery date yet? I'm actually excited for you! I imagine the wait will be hard, but when that day finally comes it's the best. Please keep us updated on when you get it and how you are liking it. I think you will love it.
No Redemption Outdoors Well the delivery date has not been determined. Originally they said it would be four to six weeks out. But given the shelter in place mandates they indicated ten weeks. This is not a good time to be trying to get something done. There are few people working and they are working remotely. The Tracker sales people do not know the status at the factory. A unit might be already built, or near completion. I will just have to monitor the situation more closely. I really enjoyed your very thorough walk through. Given that you did the walk through with two years under your belt, you brought a lot of knowledge to share. Great video that I will have my sons watch as well.
Just found your channel - AWESOME boat walk-through!!!! Can’t wait to watch your other content. I did see the tackle subscription review for March monsterbass box - it was awesome as well. Thank you for taking the time to do these videos!!!
I forwarded your video to my son who lives on Lake Wylie in Charlotte NC. He just purchased a Tracker 195. He found your video very helpful. I grew up spending summers on the Chesapeake Bay and enjoy boating and fishing. Thank you for sharing your experience and wisdom.
I'm currently in the market for a 2020/21 Tracker. This is by far the best tracker review I have seen on RUclips. I really like the coverage on all of the things you have done to the boat since buying it. By choosing to get into the budget boats like the tracker line I will want to upgrade certain parts as well. Well done video, with a lot of good info and insight.
Outstanding review! Very in-depth! I've been leaning towards the 195, but your review gave me alot of info that I wasn't sure about. I think this boat is exactly what I want!
I agree 100% had a 2009 tracker 17ft bass boat years 10 years ago. I loved it. Now I have a 2020 Tracker V-175 Pro and love it. Nothing wrong with a tracker!
I found your review honest and to the point. Your quite handy. I never would have tackled the steering upgrade myself. Maybe 10 years ago I seen so many Tracker buyers complaining about there boat and the hassles with Tracker Warranty along with dealer services. I’m completely retiring in 2023 and will be looking for a fishing boat to travel to many lakes around my cabin. At the time being we have a Bennington Pontoon with a 50 Yamaha. Both are 2011 models and have been flawless. With time constraints of just weekends we fish our lake and I don’t want to haul my Pontoon all over. I have a great bunk trailer, I just don’t want to put my time hauling on weekends and dealing with the tie ups at the ramps. I’m learning $50,000 plus is easy to spend. And I understand when you made the comment Tracker vs other brands. However I’m starting to see better reviews for Tracker but the bad ones still linger in my mind. My Money is NOT Defective and I’m not looking to buy a problem. However I’m starting to feel Tracker is getting better, but I’m still a bit gun shy. I want to thank you for your honest video. I got the impression you’re also happy with the savings.
Hi Lay Low. Thanks for commenting. Yes, I have been happy with the boat, and the savings was significant. I think all in I have about $36K into the boat and the upgrades. A same size glass boat with similar upgrades would easily tip the scale north of $50K, to start. So yes, you have to put up with some quirky quality issues, but all in all the boat has been solid. The main concern I have heard, and still have myself, is the big 150 Merc on these 195's can cause the weld breaks on the transom. It's not overly common, but it has been an issue for some. That engine has so much torque, so there is an vulnerability it seems. So far so good, though. And I agree that the reviews seem to have improved in recent years, perhaps indicating quality improvements. I know they now brace that transom better, so someday I may have my transom reinforced for added measure. We will see.
Nice honest review...Great content. Wish you could elaborate on the fit and function because my biggest gripe with Tracker is the build materials. My 2018 190 TX Hs corroding cleats, carpet loosening, rusting screws in top of fuel tank, weak standard troll motor, fuel tank that pressurizes over time, and driver console pulling away from starboard gunnel. Keep an eye out for these gremlins on your rig, and keep the great vids coming. Just subed!!!
Hi River Parish Rattlers! Thanks for watching and commenting. Yes, as you mention the fit and finish is the biggest issues I had. I haven't had any rusting screws but I have had some loose screws (figuratively and literally -- lol). But more than anything I've seen debris and left over misc pieces from the manufacturing process. Also some sketchy wire harness routing through bulkheads that are bound to chafe over time. I addressed those kinds of things and now I think everything is tight and orderly. One shouldn't have to do those kinds of things on a new boat. And I guarantee if I paid $60K - $80K for a boat I would be livid if I found that. But on a budget boat some things are expected so it's a matter of your tolerance I suppose.
This boat is leaps and bounds better than the boat that i DONT own YET. Its a nice boat and im happy your enjoying it and it does have some cool features for the price. Everyone has a different budget including myself so im not judging your rig. As others have stated the build quality seems a bit lacking for my taste but im curious how the price compares to some of the competition from crestliner, lowe, ranger etc. How much can one realistically expect to save from the other brands?
You have a ve Spring Hill Floridary nice Bass boat and the selection of upgrades is very well thought out. Your narrative is one of the best that I have seen. Great Job! I hope to purchase a 175 tracker but now you have me thinking about the 195! Honest John
Thank you, John. Either boat is nice, but you have to like the extra deck space on the 195 and I liked the fact I could go with the bigger engine. I hope you get to purchase that boat real soon and be sure to update me when you get it. Let me know what you end up buying and how you like it. Again, thanks for watching and for your kind remarks.
Very good review. I really enjoyed checking out all of the improvements that you made to your boat. I think your assessment is fair and honest. I currently own a Ranger Z520c, but if I want to go with an aluminum boat, this would be my choice. Thanks for making the video.
You have an awesome fishing rig. My 175 tracker does fine for now. If I am able to upgrade later, this boat will definitely have it's name in the hat. I do have to agree with the lack of a double axle trailer. Thank you for sharing!
Hey bud. Thanks for watching and commenting. I almost bought the 175, but ended up the with 195 when I considered I often have three people on board. I liked that it could take the bigger engine and the extra deck space is essential. Still, that 175 was nice. There's a reason they sell a lot of them, and I think for the money they are hard to beat.
Hey bud. Thanks for watching and for your questions. It has been my experience that it does very well on smooth and rough water. I wouldn't put it on par with a heavier glass boat. But then again I've been in glass boats where I got much more wet from splashing water than I do in the Tracker. Since you mention the idea of a follow--up on this topic, I will make a point of gathering footage of the boat handling various conditions and I'll post a future video reviewing its performance.
Nice review Sir, I highly recommend you zip up the black Craftsman tool bag close to the batteries. If you get into some heavy chop or a storm, any metal tools coming out of that bag could possibly fall onto the positive terminal of your batteries and short on the chassis. This could turn a rough day on the water into a really bad day.
I have a question if you don’t mind! I’d like to first say, thanks for the review of everything, the middle seat, can you please tell me how you took that backing off that has the seat backs cause I have not been able to figure it out! I’m only able to see 4 screws.
I have two issues with that foot remote. First, it is not very tall, thus it sits low in the tray. I made a wooden platform to fit inside the tray to raise the peddle high enough for my liking. Secondly, now I do not even use the foot peddle because even if you want to move the trolling motor one inch to the left, you have to press the peddle all the way down to make contact with the sensor and the motor rotates so fast that it will tale 3 to 5 adjustments back and forth before you get the trolling motor going in the original direction that you wanted.
Hey bud. Thank you for watching. I am really grateful! I hope my walkaround was helpful and if you have any questions don't hesitate to message me anytime. I'm happy to share any information that might help your decision.
Now that I've been on the water a few time since I installd the center step console, I might rank it up there as one of the best upgrades I have made. Odd as that might seem, it's amazing how much better it is for moving around on the boat efficiently. I love it. The mercmonitor is excellent also and I highly recommend. I also installed the digital water pressure sensor (which didn't come stock on my engine) so I get the water pressure readings also. I think that knowing water pressue and engine temp is almost essential on these big and expensive outboards.
The problem I had with my Minn Kota Terrova was the peddle was not “intuitive” like a cable Ultrex. Really hard to maneuver the boat pulling up to a dock, especially in the dark.
I appreciate you watching and I'm glad it is helpful. If you have any questions about the Tracker don't hesitate to hit me up. Good luck and drop me a follow-up to let me know what you end up buying.
Well done review of a very nice boat. Really like the TXW package and I would own that boar any day. I've always been told that a Mercury four-stroke is an engine and a trolling motor is a motor. One uses petroleum fuel and the other is battery powered. I'm not being critical...just passing along something that was mentioned to me several years ago.
Hi Jim. Haha. You are exactly correct. And the most ironic thing is I am very particular about that rule with cars. They have ENGINES. But here I am calling that big Merc a "motor." SMH. Thank you for calling me out and I promise to reform..... even though I am "unredeemable.." LOL. Thanks for watching bud!
Cheers! Thanks for watching. No, I've never had any problem with the boat buckles making any contact. The video camera angles are a little deceiving because it makes them look closer to the boat than they really are. But they are great.
I have a new Terrova trolling motor and I also have the love/hate going on with it. The electric foot pedal is so much slower in reaction time vs cable. It takes so much longer for the head to spin around vs cable. And my spot lock doesn’t seem to be as pinpoint accurate to me as I had expected. It takes it a few seconds to respond to the spot lock command. And by the time it reacts I’m usually already 5-10 ft off my targeted lock
Hey Jordan. Thanks for watching! And thanks for commenting. That's exactly the problem with my Xi5 pedal. You have to operate it differently than you would a cable steer. And I just haven't gotten used to it. I have been really forcing myself to use it this year and depend less on the hand remote. Otherwise I love this motor. I have no experience with MK spotlock, but the MG Anchor mode is really very good. Quick responding and keeps you very close on spot, even in some pretty stout wind. And I love the integration with my graphs. I actually use that feature a lot when I'm setting routes and way points that I want the Xi5 to automatically follow. That is probably the most cool feature for me. Bell well my friend.
Hi John. Thanks for watching. What do you like best about your 175? What motor do you have? The steering wheel information is here. It seems to be out of stock but maybe you can do a search and find one somewhere. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071RRYZS6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
@@NoRedemptionOutdoors maybe you can help me answer a random question. The horn on a 2014 tracker stopped working. I've looked at the front and under the console and do not see a horn. The individual who owns the boat says it has one. Any idea where? 2014 pro team txw
Hey Wayne! Thanks for watching. I believe I got mine from Amazon but a quick search didn't find it there. So instead here is a link to the OEM for the steering wheel. Hope this helps. www.seastarsolutions.com/products/steering-wheels/
@@NoRedemptionOutdoors definitely helps out, but I love your tastes in mods for your tracker. We think a lot alike! Keep up the videos on the tracker mods👍
So when do I need to show up to go fishing? Holla!!!! By the way Love the freaking boat. It’s a long drive from Alabama so if we’re leaving early one morning I do need a good heads up. Lol. Suhweet boat!!! I’ll give it a Roll Tide. Ok this is my second edit. I m toward the end of the video and I seen it. I’ve been looking for my deer crossing sign. When in the world did you ride down this way?
Hey Kenny. LOL. I actually was in 'bama during the first week of February. Visited family, went to church and bought a new Alabama Football cap. It was my first visit to Alabama but I'm sure it won't be my last. Thanks for watching!
Great review and solid upgrades! I'm running the same 2017 195txw. Can't believe it took me so long to find this video... thank you for taking the time to make it.. I've been hunting for better ideas on tackle organization. Thought about building vertical shelves out of HDPE sheeting but your plastic tote seems way easier and more economical. Can you share which exact tote you're using? I also noticed the seals you put in the front locker channels. Can you elaborate on these and if they've been successful? I'm constantly fighting water runoff & condensation in these lockers. I'd happy to share the upgrades I've made if interested aswell.
Hi Warren. Thanks so much for watching! How are you liking your 195? I'm still very pleased after three full seasons. The tote I'm using is one I got from Sam's Club. It's called the CleverMade CleverCrate 62L. It is collapsible so it can be easily stowed when not being used. As for the weather stripping on the compartments, I used some generic stuff I got off Amazon. It has an adhesive backing and I must say, it really seems to help a lot. When you first install it the doors to the hatches are a little hard to close but over time that goes away. Overall I've noticed a significant improvement, especially when it's raining. The compartments stay pretty dry. I was surprised. It's not 100% but I regard it as having been worth doing. Good luck and thanks again for watching!
@@NoRedemptionOutdoors thank you for the quick response and tote info. Overall I'm pleased with my 195. The abundance of deck space is my top accolade. Performance is good but it tends to get sqirrelly at higher speeds. Versatility has been good for me too - I've had it in skinny backwaters and on large reservoirs. I really only have 2 complaints. Not a fan of the single axle trailer. I frequently travel 5+ hrs and would like that extra stability on the road. Other negative is the sub-par craftsmanship on the finishing details & cleanup during manufacturing. Hope to see more boat related vids from you in the future.
@@warrenbernis9088 I'm definitely gonna do some more boat vids. First I've done a couple more little tweaks to mod the boat to my liking. So I'll highlight that. And do a general update review. But the main plan is to do fishing videos from the boat. That was always the plan for the channel but, well, 2020. But this year we will get back on track! I really appreciate you watching, brother!
What do you guys think about the Motorguide Xi5. I went almost the entire season last year with it intermittantly acting erratic. But once I finally figured out what was wrong, it's been golden ever since. No more wrestling with the trolling motor... more fishing. What has been your experience?
I specified Garmin Force for it’s brushless silent motor with big thrust, and wireless connectivity to the graphs, foot pedal and remote control and, God knows, whatever else it does..
Those new brushless motors are off the chart. I have several years to go now until I next upgrade my troller but when I do it will be brushless. Maybe by then Lithium will be more affordable.
No Redemption Outdoors It is the integrating of Garmin’s sonar unit with their trolling motors that impressed me most, along with the wireless components, that included a wireless foot pedal and a remote control that enable fishermen to run a variety of functions from anchor lock to track plotting. I can steer the trolling motor by clicking the mouse and pointing it in the direction I want to go. This all appealed to the geek in me.
@@p.d.dinkles9592 That appeals to me too! Your rig is gonna be incredible. I'm really stoked for you. Another of my subscribers also recently got a 195 within the last few weeks. He has been pretty thrilled so far. I think you will be too.
No Redemption Outdoors I am stoked. You could always come to our place and do some fishing with us after they relax the pandemic. I have a manager of the boat sales indicating my Garmin Force will be compatable and communicate with the Lowrance GPS/Fish Finder. My research indicates, that “While Garmin sonars and chartplotters integrate with other companies’ trolling motors, the Garmin Force only links to Garmin units.”. I want to run a fully integrated boat. So I am going to call around to some Garmin resources and get their input. I will not settle for limiting the interactivity of any functions.
Regarding the BassCat storage box betwixt the seats... was there originally storage beneath the center seat you removed? Or did you fabricate that yourself before putting the BC box on a hinge. Cool idea, regardless.
Hey Herb. The storage compartment was already there. On the 2017 there is no storage under the driver or passenger seat, but under the center seat (which I replaced with the step box) is that compartment. I really appreciate you watching!
With all those awesome upgrades I’m shocked you don’t have a shallow water anchor. I can’t remember if the trolling motor has spot lock. Also I just subscribed. Awesome review :)
Awesome, Darrell. Thank you so much! Shallow water anchors are next.... And yes, the Xi5 trolling motor does have anchor mode, which works very well. It gets me by until I finally install anchors. Thanks for watching and commenting!
good job on the review 'i have a 190 tx 2019 bought it last year as a left over .anyway i wanted to ask you how how much the hydraulic steering cost .your right it definitely needs power steering. also how do you like the bracket you have for the rod holder .i dont know what to buy i have the scotty rod holders from my old boat . just two of the aluminum brackets cost as much as the whole set up of the railblaza rod holder . for one thing they are new and as nice as the scotty holders and the same money as just the aluminum bracket you have . i can use 1 of my brackets on the starboard side in the back cause on my boat there is no versa track there.do the brackets get in the way cause they stick up in the way it looks like and the ones i want are flush with the top of the gunnels. anyway good job on your video it was very decisive .i like the way you set your boat up..
The hydraulic steering is the Baystar model, like the one in the following link: www.amazon.com/Baystar-HK4200A-3-Hydraulic-Steering-Cylinder/dp/B00PBDT3B8/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=baystar&qid=1626701770&sr=8-2 I believe it cost me about $600 - $650, if memory serves. I almost moved up the the Seastar model, which is for bigger engines. They say Baystar is good up to 150hp, but in hindsight I probably would have been better with the Seastar, which is about $1,100. For a 115 hp or 90 hp, the baystar is perfect. The aluminum mounting brackets I have for my versatrak are from Brocraft. They are pricey but I will say they are bullet proof. I've heard that some guys make their own, which seems doeable even for lesser skilled guys like me. But they are great mounting systems that work with a variety of accessories. I appreciate you watching and commenting. Enjoy that boat!
You kind sir, are a true gentleman for noticing my obvious youthful appearance! I think yours is my most favorite comment of all time. LOL. I am so grateful for your comment and thanks again for watching!
No Redemption Outdoors im looking to buy as soon the military medically retires me. This will be my first boat and I want it to be something I can have a couple “oops” and not cost to much. I’m looking at the 175 or 195....new or used?....what’cha think?
@@PapiOso55 Either is a nice boat. I obviously love my 195 cause the front deck is like a small aircraft carrier. But either is good. Just to give you some insight, recently we went out and had to go through some canals and tunnels. I posted a video about that day. At one point I hit a stump under the waterline. I hit it pretty hard. It lifted the boat up and scared the piss out of me. Luckily it didn't hit the engine. But later in the day when we had the boat back on the trailer, there wasn't even a dent on the hull. Had it been a fiberglass boat, I'm not sure I could say that. And, because it's aluminum I was able to get into VERY shallow water. So that another advantage of a tin boat. I know I'm biased, but I love my Tracker because it does everything those really expensive boats do, for half or less the money.
My buddy has one of these and I just stepped into it today to help him load it up. It is a really nice and spacious rig, without doubt, but I feel like there are some shortcomings about it. One of the main things I noticed is that it's somewhat tippy. Like more than what I was expecting, and after checking it's spec weight, I found it weighs 1215 lbs, which is just 300 lbs heavier than my fully loaded and fully modified Classic XL. The next thing that left me perplexed is the fact that the trailer is not a tandem trailer when it really seems like it could and should be. I also noticed my buddy had the OE rear transom hold down straps as you first highlighted in the video. For the price you paid for that rig, it should had came factory with those boat buckles already integrated. I don't know. Like I said, really nice, but there are things that should either come with it, be on it, or have more of on it. The more I think about it, the more I'm glad I made the decision to go with my Classic XL and just deck it out. Beautiful rig and awesome video!
Hi @Extreme Boating. This is a great comment. Your observations are correct. First, yes it is a bit tippy and if there is anything that causes me to go to a glass boat, it's that. It does test your balance and mine isn't what it used to be. Also, they now offer for the 195 an optional tandem trailer. As far as I'm concerned it should be standard. And it I'm not mistaken they offer the boat buckles as well. Again, another option that really should be standard. All in all I still love my boat after more than 3 years. It really is a great rig, especially for getting into some shallow areas you simply cannot reach in a glass boat. I love the 150 four stroke. That thing is a beast and it just runs. I can still recommend this boat to anybody who is interested in a bass rig for much less money than fiber glass. I may go back to a glass boat, but mostly for the added stability. Otherwise this is an awesome boat in my opinion. Thank you so much for watching and especially for your very good comment!
@@NoRedemptionOutdoors absolutely buddy! I found your account on IG and followed you on there. I'm glad they are offering some things as optional now for sure. I really think that they should be standard as well, but what can you do. As far as the balancing act goes, yeah it can be a thing can't it. I have some issues sometimes as well but have never fallen in either. I will say the absolute best thing that I really really enjoy about it is that it can go into some seriously shallow areas. I think there are some pros and cons in the tin vs. glass arena, but with saying that, the same can be said the other way around. I think it just depends on your overall goals and intended use. At the end of the day I really enjoy my tin boat and while I wouldn't mind having a glass, I want to keep my expectations and constraints realistic as well.
What a terrific review-Very thorough. I did some similar upgrades to my 2016 175TF. I wish now that I had gotten the TXW instead, mainly because of the configuration of the storage and live wells(TF has 2). At the time I purchased my boat, I didn't realize the TF was set up primarily for crappie fishing. Oh well, I still like my boat. The Lowrance Elite 9TI are what I have at the bow and helm, and I have the Motorola Xi5 as well. I notice that you didn't mention the add-on cable guard from Precision Sonar. And, I'm curious what your take is on deploying and recovering the Xi5? Thanks for a great review.
I've got a 2018 195TXW tracker. I saw your console you got from bass cat. I was looking at them but don't know what size to get. They have S or L. What size is your console.
Hey Rob. Thanks for watching. I got the one that is 17.5" wide, which if memory serves is the large size. I may do a short review video since I get lots of questions... spoiler alert... I LOVE IT! One of the best mods I've done.
I’d really like to know how much you have in all the upgrades making it the way you have it with the steering all the other upgrades if it’s just easier to go with a Skeeter after having replaced so much and what your not getting single axle trailer less hp have to put in weather stripping for dry storage can’t go in any kind of bad weather or else your in trouble in the tin boat I rode in my buddies and it was the roughest ride I’ve ever been in and it was only 12mph wind. Trolling motor issue no minn Kota. Tiny electronics. Can’t do hydro jack just not sure if it’s worth saving 8-10 grand that’s why I’m curious how much all your upgrades cost.
Very excited to order one of these boats. I was torn between tracker and vexus. Think I'm going to save the 10k and get the tracker. I currently own a 2002 21' charger w a 225 merc and get 69mph top speed. 61 is a fast boat for an aluminum!
Hey Tom! Thank you for watching. The aluminum is a different experience from glass boats, for sure. Anything around 60 mph in an 18.5" aluminum boat FEELS much faster. But once you get used to the ride and how the boat handles, it's very exhilarating. And I can get into some more shallow areas that most glass boats can't. I think you will enjoy the Tracker, and with the money you save you could rig that thing to be a fish slayer. Have fun and enjoy!
Hi Chad. Thanks for watching. I put the main backbone under the driver console. There is a "secondary" backbone up in the bow to connect the Xi5 and the graph to the main netwok.
@@NoRedemptionOutdoors Thanks so much, what path did you take to connect the two backbones? I'm setting up Dual Garmin 102SV/106SV with livesope and force. Planning on putting the livescope brain in the starboard box at the front and drill hole. Its a lot to do, lol!!!
@@chadmoore6459 I was able to run the NMEA cable from the front by removing the recessed pedal tray to gain access. Then I could fish the cable under the deck, over to the front of the starbord storage box. I drilled through the box, then through the bulkhead to complete the route to the helm. I hope that makes sense.
I have the same boat and put 2-10 ft Talons on. It does add weight but I don't regret it. A step up came with my trailer which works great. That step up looks heavy and confusing.
I like the ones that come on the TE edition trailer. No question that's superior. But I gotta say this bow step has been a pleasant surprise. I wasn't sure about it at first but now I really like it. Thanks for watching.
So you support the transom saver from the transom? Kinda defeats the purpose of the transom saver. Had you went down to the trailer to get the added support for the transom because of the motor putting leverage on the transom during transport. That would stop the motor from flexing the transom because it's seperate from the transom.
Hey bud. Thanks for commenting. There is a lot of information out there that suggests you shouldn't use transom savers that hook to your trailer because it transfers movement from the trailer to the engine, causing more stress. Check out this discussion on the topic. There are many discussions like this and ultimately you have to use your best judgment. texasfishingforum.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/ubb/printthread/Board/28/main/1003450/type/thread
Wow your thread made my point even more valid, but I can respect your view on it and will like you said make a decision I can live with. I feel the difference between a boat crossing waves which give way to the boat are less likely to be as rigid as the tires transmitting highway bumps abruptly to the transom. So I suppose I'll stick to boat tight to the trailer via the exact brand and type of ratcheting trailer straps that you have and snug the motor into the v- shaped support from the 4 inch box trailer frame to the lower unit.
Yes. It seems like a highly debated topic. Thats why I chose that link. To show both sides if the debate. I have both types so I may experiment some more. If you prefer the so-called "H" type then the one I have is pretty good. Anyway I appreciate you watching and commenting.
Hey Chancellor. I'm running a 24p Tempest Plus. I'm considering going to a 4 bladed prop like the Trophy Plus. Hard to come by and EXPENSIVE. So for now I run with the Tempest
I think you will like it. As you know I have the three step version. I like having the ability to adjust and move the ladder around, which is one advantage of this system.
I picked up a 2020 175 TXW Tournament Edition after watching some of the informtion in your review. I had 1 question, I have a Lowrance Elite Ti2 9 @ the helm, and am putting a Lowrance Hook2 7 @ the bow. How did you run your transducer wiring to mount the huge Ti2 totalscan transducer at the bottom of the Xi5?
Hey BigRexJ. Congratulations on your new 175. That's awesome! I bet you will love it. The cable management system I used for my tranducer cable is the Cornfield Crappie Cable Save-R www.cornfieldcrappiegear.com/product-page/copy-of-copy-of-cable-save-r-for-xi5 I think Precision Sonar makes one very similar. It works well and I can recommend it strongly.
Not a lover of a foot controlled T/M. Been using hands and hips for many years. Plus my T/M is a variable speed type. Not the 5/ 3 speed type. Mine I can dial in the exact speed needed for what ever condition. You have a nice rig. Tight lines .
Hey John, thanks for watching. I'm totally with you on the variable speed troller. The Xi5 does have the foot pedal with the fixed speed position knob, but the handheld controller allows for variable speed control. Also, it's networked with my graphs and that allows me to set a course or a route that it will auto follow, or call up a file with waypoints and it will visit each waypoint automatically. And of course Anchor Lock, which holds it in place very well, even in tough wind conditons. I have plenty of complaints about the Xi5, not the least of which its deployment mechanism. I have to say I hate how you have to step on a pedal to release the motor, as opposed to pulling a cable. But overall I really do love this T/M and its netorking, variable speed, and its power, which is good too. Take care brother!
@@NoRedemptionOutdoors Thanks for the come back. I'm in central Florida. Fish that part of the St John's river. Okeechobee as well. Plus anything in between. About about now your looking at snow . I've been Bass fishing. Anchor lock would be great on Head Waters lake. Wind blows constantly. Look up the body of water. Reportedly best Bass lake in U. S.
Thanks man! I appreciate your kind words. To be honest I'm not sure on the gph, but my vessel view can provide that information. So I'm planning an update video in the coming weeks. I'll get a measurement and then add this information to that video.
Hey David. It's really quite stable. That Revolution modified-V hull is really quite impressive in bigger wind and chop. It's not a glass boat, to be sure. So it won't be on par as far as ride. But still, you might keep more dry in this boat than in certain glass boats. The Tracker does a good job of deflecting the spray away from the cockpit. So all in all it's really quite good. Thanks for watching!
I'm curious what it cost you for that port console, I imagine they have to be ordered from tracker dealer directly? I hear the install is 2 bolt easy. Great review by the way. I'm up in Ontario Canada and the Haliburton and Kawartha Lakes regions is my area tons of small to mid size lakes I'm thinking this tracker might be perfect for me from your review
I bought my port console used for $325. I'm not sure about current MSRP, but I think it's considerably higher than what I paid. And, yes it's a two bolt install. Really easy. If you plan to take the console off from time to time, then the hardware provided is pretty good. If you plan to leave it installed, I recommend getting your own stainless bolt and nut hardware, and some blue locktite, and crank it down with a good ratchet. The vibration tends to loosen up the factory hardware so you must constantly check and retighten. But with your own hardware, it's not a concern. I think you would really like this Tracker. I've had mine for over three years now and I still love it.
Also there are some things to consider. Weight distribution, motor height, correct prop and being sure you tach and speedometer are correct. One of the firsts things soon to break on a boat is the speedometer. Is the speedometer and gps reading the same? And weight, the average load of a pro bass master angler is approximately 200lbs of tackle... and that’s heavy. And remember they’re usually in a boat with a 250hp. So The same load is going to have a greater negative affect on a 150 than a 250. Now there are props to help minimize your performance loss under heavy load.
I would first check my gauges to be sure they are correct because 48 mph is a significant difference. And if they are correct you may need to check your prop lower unit the hall of your boat and if everything is fine reevaluate how heavy your load is. It does not take much of an alteration to a boat to affect its performance.
Love your video! Super informative. I want that same Mercury Smart Gauge. Was it difficult to install? I do have a Vessel View but I would much rather have that gauge. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
It wasn't hard at all. Running the cables was the hardest part and that wasn't bad. I have mine networked with my graphs, too. That took some additional parts like a junction box and another cable. Even that wasn't hard to do. REMEMBER: If you replace your stock speedo with the merc monitor, BE SURE TO PLUG THE WATER TUBE that comes into the back of the speedo you are removing. Ask me how I know. On a related note I also have the Vessel View still hooked up. I figured since I had it anyway I might just as well keep it. Funny enough I still use it more than you might think. For one thing I like that it can synch my engine data to my service center. Thanks for watching and commenting. I really appreciate your kind words.
Also if you are still researching I highly recommend that you contact European Marine. I think they are in the southeast US. I dealt with Don Weed over there. His info is on the bbc (Bass Boat Central) Forums. They are very competitively priced for the level 1 merc monitor kit. And he can answer all your questions.
@@NoRedemptionOutdoors Thanks for the tips! I actually ordered one last night. Hope it works! www.greatlakesskipper.com/mercury-smartcraft-boat-speedometer-gauge-kit-79-889223b24-white
@@mikekenner9218 I'm sure you'll like it. That one is slightly different than mine. Yours is the smartcraft speedo. I'm not that familiar with all it's functions but I assume it's similar to the one I have. Mine is the smartcraft mercmonitor level 1, and it replaces speedo, rpm, water pressure (with digital sending unit), oil pressure and temp, GPS SOG, air and water temp, and other funtions. I had to go with this higher unit so that I could fully network with my graphs, which now display a dashboard with all the gauges on screen. @@NoRedemptionOutdoors I saw that one as well. Looks like a great unit! I am afraid of the install on mine, I am not super handy with this stuff but I want to learn. Do I have to run those wires to my big motor? Not even sure how I get my current gauge off. I will most likely reach out to your buddy at European Marine in SC. Also, since I have Humminbird equipment, the Merc Smart Gauges do not link. I really appreciate your help!!!!
Just watched this video for the first time. You have done a lot of things to your rig to make it better and I understand. Tip of advice. I have had 2 tracker boats and sold both of them after 4 months of usage. They are junk. Pay attention to the trailer bunks. They use southern yellow pine which ROTS in no time. A trailer company in Arkansas provides all the trailers for White River Marine Group. LLC. You can't blame Tracker about the trailers. On the other hand, yes you can. You see, when first look at a Tracker boat, they(Tracker) put the money in what you can see. It is what you don't see is where they cut corners for lack of a better term. That is why they are junk. They keep the price down so a working man can afford them. They know this. That is why they have to cut corners. Too bad for them. They sell a lot of them. Oh well, I went and bought a Ranger and got the quality I wanted. Here again, they own Ranger also. I took the trailer to a boat repair shop and had pressure treated wood replace southern yellow pine wood. Now I have a real trailer. Let me ask you a question. Why would you spend all that money on a boat and then let it set on a junk trailer. That boat of yours will be on that trailer more than in the water. If not checked, one of these days you won't be able to load your boat at the dock as the bunk or two g=has fallen off the trailer.
I like this radio but it needs more power and bass. So I plan to eventually add an amplifier, and maybe upgrade to larger or better speakers with better bass response. Since mostly I'm just fishing, the radio isn't my highest priority. When it's on it's generally turned down low anyway.
Awesome review! Thank you sir for taking the time to do that. I am looking at a 2019 190T TX Tournament Edition. I do have a couple of questions for you. @@jonashamrah2428 That is so awesome. I'm really happy for you. Congratulations on a very nice boat. If that stainless fits I would definitely put it on. Regarding the tie downs, I assume you mean either the boat buckles that strap the boat to the trailer, or the tote-rite motor support. As for the boat buckles, mine attached right to the trailer on a mounting point that was already on the trailer. No bracket necessary. I bet yours might be the same. As for the tote-rite, no bracket needed for that either. I hope this helps. Congrats again, and enjoy that boat. Make memories! Be well my friend.
@@NoRedemptionOutdoors I do have the stainless steel prop already on. It is a 3 blade prop, not sure what the pitch it is. I've seen 43 mph on it verified by the Hook5 GPS depth finder. For the tie downs, I was referring the Boat Buckles that tie boat to the trailer. I wasn't whether or not I needed the brackets to mount to the trailer, or if the tie downs would mount to the existing holes on the trailer. As you said, hopefully mine will mount right on just like yours did.
You have a beautiful boat with a very good taste in Upgrades. I found the steering upgrade the most important as I have driven my friends Skeeter with the 195 Mercury and I’m not sure if he had a Cable steering but the boat was definitely unsafe at certain speeds it was definitely noticeable and felt extremely unsafe and squirrelly like you said. I do business with Gentleman your age and you and him sound and have the same voice and speak in the manner 😁👍🍺🇺🇸. I kept looking up and making sure it was not him in the video lol 😂. He doesn’t fish like you so your much cooler 😎💪😁🇺🇸👍👍👍🍺🍺🎣🎣🎣🎣
My biggest question is are any of the storage compartments actually dry? Every aluminum boat I've ever had had wet storage compartments.
I put extra weather stripping in my compartment hatches and so far so good. Everything has stayed dry even after a two day storm where I couldn't cover the boat. That said I always air out compartments after a day on the water, which never hurts. They can sweat under certain conditions so I keep them aired out and it seems to work.
@@NoRedemptionOutdoors what/which weather stripping did you use?

I STRONGLY AGREE!!
P.D. Dinkles how much is the monthly payments and money down ?

I forwarded your video to my son who lives on Lake Wylie in Charlotte NC. He just purchased a Tracker 195. He found your video very helpful. I grew up spending summers on the Chesapeake Bay and enjoy boating and fishing. Thank you for sharing your experience and wisdom.

I think all your improvements have made it a very desirable boat indeed. You obviously know what you like and how to achieve it. Really good job.
Great video, you are now 1 of my favorites, keep the video coming.

Just checking to see if you get water into boat from storage doors
Excellent excellent video thanks to you michiganders that was fantastic you showed me a lot because I have a tracker also
Any chance you can discuss the weather striping you installed in the storage areas. What kind etc.
LOVE IT... jealous... love the upgrades...
I second the whole best review forsure! I got a 2018 195 pro & enjoy the heck out of it! Appreciate your time!
Thank you so much. I appreciate your kind words. Like I said, for the money the 195 is a lot of boat.
Great video! Thank you for all of the info!!!
Very nice boat but how does it do in the water? Rough choppy water? Smooth water? Will you do another review on that please.
I actually just bought a Crestliner vt 17 dx as my first bass boat. I'm super excited to be able to get it out on the water!!
Thats awesome! Congrats. That's a nice boat!
Very sound advise, indeed! I will make sure. I very much appreciate you watching and for your suggestion.
Very informative review, a few things I will definitely consider when purchasing my boat. Looking at the same make 2020. Thanks for putting it up.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching 👊
hey man where do you have your fire extinguisher mounted they mounted mine in the front comportment .

Loved the review. Very thorough sir.
Much appreciated! 👊
I'm a few months into my 2017 175txw. Definitely interested in replacing that center seat and the mercmonitor!
Nice review.. looks like you know the boat inside and out.. I’ve been shopping myself so very helpful..

Great review. I’m looking at the 175 tournament edition when all this virus crap is over. Stay safe.
Hey Keith, thanks for watching. The 175 is a nice boat. I looked at one when I bought my boat. Best of luck and wishes for good health!
Those boat buckles look really close to the bottom of the boat. Do you ever have any issues with contacting them when launching/loading?

Hey Kenny. LOL. I actually was in 'bama during the first week of February. Visited family, went to church and bought a new Alabama Football cap. It was my first visit to Alabama but I'm sure it won't be my last. Thanks for watching!
Great review! Good luck this season!!
Thanks! You too!
Should’ve got a trick step.
It mounts on winch post 400 pound weight limit.
Love mine on rt 188 ranger
Good video 👍 what did that all cost you ? Before everything -After thanks
Thanks for taking the time to do this review. You convinced me on the 4 stroke!
How much was that bass cat seat/ step / storage? Can you post a link to that? Thanks boss!
Love the video and upgrades
good job on the review 'i have a 190 tx 2019 bought it last year as a left over .anyway i wanted to ask you how how much the hydraulic steering cost .your right it definitely needs power steering. also how do you like the bracket you have for the rod holder .i dont know what to buy i have the scotty rod holders from my old boat . just two of the aluminum brackets cost as much as the whole set up of the railblaza rod holder . for one thing they are new and as nice as the scotty holders and the same money as just the aluminum bracket you have . i can use 1 of my brackets on the starboard side in the back cause on my boat there is no versa track there.do the brackets get in the way cause they stick up in the way it looks like and the ones i want are flush with the top of the gunnels. anyway good job on your video it was very decisive .i like the way you set your boat up..
The hydraulic steering is the Baystar model, like the one in the following link: www.amazon.com/Baystar-HK4200A-3-Hydraulic-Steering-Cylinder/dp/B00PBDT3B8/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=baystar&qid=1626701770&sr=8-2
I believe it cost me about $600 - $650, if memory serves.
Enjoy that boat!
thanks man
Young Fella I appreciate you and your knowledge you share.....I want this exact model....thanks.
No Redemption Outdoors I’m getting one because these 56 year old eye ain’t what they used to be lol
Awesome video. Lots of stuff I want for my boat also.
Hey Rob. Thanks for watching. I got the one that is 17.5" wide, which if memory serves is the large size. I may do a short review video since I get lots of questions... spoiler alert... I LOVE IT! One of the best mods I've done.
@@NoRedemptionOutdoors awesome .thanks so much
Where can I buy the passenger console. I've looked everywhere and can't find it. You wouldn't have a link on that would you. Thanks so much
I’d really like to know how much you have in all the upgrades making it the way you have it with the steering all the other upgrades if it’s just easier to go with a Skeeter after having replaced so much and what your not getting single axle trailer less hp have to put in weather stripping for dry storage can’t go in any kind of bad weather or else your in trouble in the tin boat I rode in my buddies and it was the roughest ride I’ve ever been in and it was only 12mph wind.
I have been searching for a port console with a wind screen and I can’t seem to find one. Can you please let me know where you got it?
Wondering how you installed your NMEA Network. Where did you put your backbone?
@@NoRedemptionOutdoors BTW, Thanks so much and this is one of the best reviews I've ever seen. Nice job!!!
Where did you buy the center storage compartment?
Hi there. Thanks for your question. I bought it direct from Bass Cat Boats. Go to their website and you can order it there.
The transom bar is better bc the weight of the motor is on the trailer frame keeping the transom from flexing over time!
What prop are you running on the 195?
Hey Chancellor. I'm running a 24p Tempest Plus. I'm considering going to a 4 bladed prop like the Trophy Plus. Hard to come by and EXPENSIVE. So for now I run with the Tempest
Great review, very well done.
Do you tow the boat with your trailblazer?
Hi Chris.. No. That's not mine. I tow it with a Silverado.
Drop me a comment to tell me about your boat, what upgrades or modifications have you made, and do you recommend your boat to others.
😎
No Redemption Outdoors I ordered the Quality Mark 28803 Bow Step - 4-Step to be installed by Tracker (hopefully).
The cable management system I used for my tranducer cable is the Cornfield Crappie Cable Save-R www.cornfieldcrappiegear.com/product-page/copy-of-copy-of-cable-save-r-for-xi5
I think Precision Sonar makes one very similar.

Thanks man! I appreciate your kind words. To be honest I'm not sure on the gph, but my vessel view can provide that information. So I'm planning an update video in the coming weeks. I'll get a measurement and then add this information to that video.
Thanks so much for sharing.
Is that wood in the bow deck?
Yes it is.
How does it feel/ handle in windy weather and choppy waters?
No Redemption Outdoors thank you for answering my question
I love the trolling motor, hate the foot pedal. I would love to be able to use it so I didn't have to use the remote all the time.
I just bought a 2020 195TXW Tournament Edition with a 150 4-stroke and my top speed is 48mph (fully loaded plus a co-angler) does that seem right?
What your max rpm?
@@tmprestenbach I hit 5600 RPM
S.O.B. Southern Oklahoma Bassin' what hole it your motor hight set at?
Great review!
Hey Kevin, Sorry it took me so long to reply. I appreciate you watching and I'm grateful for your kind words. Cheers!

@@mikekenner9218 I'm sure you'll like it. That one is slightly different than mine. Yours is the smartcraft speedo. Mine is the smartcraft mercmonitor level 1, and it replaces speedo, rpm, water pressure (with digital sending unit), oil pressure and temp, GPS SOG, air and water temp, and other funtions.
Nice video! I have the same boat also. Do you have a link or part number for speaker and radio you used?

4. I don't have a four blade prop...yet. I'm currently running the stock 24p Tempest Plus. I don't have a spare prop so I need one anyway. Right now I'm looking hard at getting a Trophy Plus 4-blade. Just trying to determine if I need to drop down to a 23p or stay at 24p. Either way those are expensive props!
Thanks for watching!
@@NoRedemptionOutdoors Hi, I guess I wanted to give you an update LOL. I actually changed my mind, I bought a 2019 Pro Team 175 TXW with a 75hp 4 stroke. Boat was practically brand new. The original owner had for 1 year exactly. I got it for an amazing deal. Motor has
@@jonashamrah2428 That is so awesome.
@@jonashamrah2428 Bass Pro shop has those buckles in stock. I saw them the other day while looking for a butt seat. Cheers
Great Review!
Thanks for watching 👊🏻
Well kept up boat
Thank you! 👊🏻
