Highly considering this as my next rig and have been waiting on a great OTW review. This is DEFINITELY pushing me in the H20 direction! Great review man
Congrats on the new boat. You can hear the smile and happiness in your review. I have a Jon to bass boat rebuild I’m doing and it works but there are a lot of things I had to learn about setback, drag and jack plates. Still don’t have it right but I’m enjoying the build.
I bought a new 2022 H17 with a 90 sho and couldn't be happier with it. It hit 48.6 at late break In which is good for a 90. It might have a couple more in it if I wanted to mess with it but either way Im pleased.
Awesome video very informative I’m wanting too downsize from 21 foot glass boat but for the price point I really like that boat and layout. Still can have plenty room and run fairly rough water. I do have one ? Did your rig come with recirculating and pump out livewell ? That is something I would like for back up and summer fishing putting ice in and recirculating just curious if it did or was option ? Thanks for video
Thanks! A recirculating pump and output is an option you can add. A single bilge pump is also standard, I also added the second auto bilge. I’d recommend adding it as well.
Nice looking boat Tom but I do have a question about live wells in the high heat times of the year. Is it harder to keep fish alive during the summer due to the aluminum retaining heat more?
I went from Glass (Ranger, Majek Extreme to a H 20' Bay) with a 150 SHO max on my boat, I am running 55-57 I have virtually same setup and lithium's as well. (in center console) just for comparison, Tom what prop are they telling you to run just curious, I need a Pro 21" Yamaha, the Power tech comes up in a split second, but top speed could be tweaked on my hull.
It was shipped with a Pro Tech but we swapped it out for a 21” Pro Series (in the video). I tested a 23” as well, it’s too big. Need a 22” but they don’t make it in the Pro Series, so I’m looking for another option currently to optimize it.
It’s going to vary if u get a stock boat or order one. I got one that was already rigged out, pulled the graph, troller, battery charger, and jackplate it comes with, selling those, and switched those out. $39k for those standard options with a 175. I pretty well loaded it out so I’m somewhere around $50k. Not cheap, but a lot less than decked out glass boats that are north of $100k. And totally fishable at $39k if you wanna go the stock route. 🍻
Any chance you could tell me the price for a regular guy to get this boat? Im in a 2009 z520 Ranger but my power head is blown. I live in Louisiana and i think this boat will be perfect for what i wanna fish instead of repowering an old boat. Im literally thinking of driving to your dealership and ordering this exact boat
So depending if u get a boat in stock or if u order one, pricing will be a little different from boat to boat. JD Shipp is the owner and knows the Xpress lineup well, handled the rigging of mine. They’re officially closed for the holidays, but he lives close n said he’d be happy to quote u via email/call or meet u at the store sometime. His cell is (903) 720-1635. I gave him a heads up, so just drop him a line if u’d like.
@TomRedington thank. If followed your channel for a long time and I'd just like the dealership your input drove me to this boat. Thank you for responding

Its a nice boat. But man that bilge is cramped. Gonna be fun getting to your pumps. I know you had to fight getting those batteries in. Wish more boat companies put the gas tank under the seats. Cramped bilge and no gas struts on any of the lids are definitely drawbacks
No more cramped than the 21’ glass boat I’m coming out of, at least a big lid to get in there to work on it tho. I’m fine with it, cuss it every time I work on stuff back there, bit that’s seldom and I’ll trade it for more storage for tackle. Gas struts on the center and stbd storage, I ordered struts and installing them soon for the rod locker as well.
I notice it drifting when I’m backing to put it on the trailer more than a fiberglass, but fine once I got used to it. Felt weird the first couple times tho lol
Tom, they should have used the two lid layout like on their X19/21. You will soon see it is a nightmare to cull fish with one big lid. Also, if you truly want to appeal to the tournament guy/gals mimic the glass boats and other aluminum brands that have gone to dedicated fiberglass live wells set up for bass fishing and not bass/ crappie. I own a Crestliner with a live well setup the same way. If you don’t have a co-angler this season cut that lid and make it one single opening in the middle.
Don't need to run any faster than 60. Plus, you'll be grinning ear-to-ear when you find yourself fishing in 10" of water!
You are 100% correct!

Absolutely sick boat. Great review no nonsense
Much appreciated!
I’ve watched a lot of videos on the H20 and this is by far the best one I’ve seen. Thanks for doing it.
Thank you! Glad it was helpful.

Thanks, appreciate it. Good luck with your build, worth it to get it just the way u like it n be excited to take it every trip.
Fantastic review and meaningful commentary!!! I'm getting one of these for 2025.
Thank you!

That is scooting in a 90, while not burning much gas doing it. Nice!
Aluminum boats have come a long way compared to what we started in. Nice boat!
They keep getting better at bass fishing…and we continue to get worse!
Nicely done, been looking at that boat for a while 👍👍👍
Thanks! 👍
Great video I’m sold!!!

How much does a rig like that rigged out cost?just curious if you don't mind saying.just ballpark?

How much $ average for that boat? If you don’t mind me asking. Just trying to compare. Thx.

Do you find it difficult to control when going in reverse in any kind of wind or current? I have the h18 that I love unless I need to go in reverse
I notice it drifting when I’m backing to put it on the trailer more than a fiberglass, but fine once I got used to it. Felt weird the first couple times tho lol
We approve!
Appreciated!
If only they sold them in the west coast cause that boat is perfect
I guess now u have an excuse to drive East n fish some Texas lakes for a few days!
Can u get one with a 200
175 is max rated HP.
Xpress needs to fix/upgrade their live wells.
Size or layout? What u wanna see different?
