I just picked up a 2023 z20 DC as it was on clear out sale, I'm perfectly happy with with it and it's storage amenities. Performance is great, had it for a week and been out on it 5 times.
It all comes down to where you fish and if you fish by yourself or not. I own a Nitro Z18 and fish by myself or with one other person 99.99% of the time and the biggest body of water I fish is 8,000 acres with a 25 mph speed limit. Sure the bigger ones have some little extras but are they worth $20,000 - $30,000 more? Also also how often do you fish? If you are a typical recreational fisherman who fishes a maybe a couple of times a month is it really worth $30,000 - $40,000 more. My Z -18 has all the important features like in the livewell, etc but there is no way I'd spend that extra $30,000 +
@@rainysunday6186 it's pretty easy to tell when someone is going more than 25 mph and after the first $250 fine out of towners usually get the message. If you looked at my catch log you'd understand why it's the only place I fish .... how many 5 lb + bass have you caught in the last 3 years? I'm pretty sure my current 2024 count exceeds it and I'm certainly no pro ...
I just got a used z19 this winter. Had my first ice out trip on it this weekend. It’s perfect for fishing those small local 350-600 acre lakes but it’s big enough for a weekend trip to Champlain. Very happy with it. It has a bunch of options
I have a 2022 z20 and absolutely love it I looked at both and glad I went with the z20. Plenty enough room for multiple people fishing up front and pretty fast for a nitro I run 75 and some days hit 76 by my self 73 with two people
Great Footage! I Personally Take The Speed And Higher Visibility Over The The Cockpit Because Of The Higher Seat In The Z-20 Than The Z-21. I'm All In For The Z-20!
By far the best look at a boat or boat comparison video I have ever seen! It'll come in handy very much in 20 years when I might be able to afford to buy one of these used and beat up. Lol I'm joking but probably being serious at the same time I will stick with and continue to love my 17 and 1/2 ft aluminum bass boat which I love more than anything. I just watched the video out of curiosity and I enjoy your content
The Z20 and smaller have the NVT hull. At one time I was told which company Johnny bought that originally designed the hull, but helps with the faster holeshot. The Z21 doesn’t have that hull but lo have the Rapid Planning System you showed in the video. I have a 2020 Z21 so the old deck design. Think I would like the 21XL deck instead of the three compartments on my 2020, but boat was big improvement from my previous 18 foot bass boat.
I think for most people either of these would be great to own. If you’re a professional like yourself there’s a lot more that works into this decision. So for me I like the look of the Z20 has everything I would need and more and has a great look to it.
The one thing I got out of this video is that there's no reason Nitro couldn't have added all of those bells and whistles to the Z20. Everything he measured was only a couple inches off here and there, or sometimes exactly the same.
Z20 all day. More versatile and just as capable as the Z21. Also, it does have the cup holder / pliers up front. Also handles real well on Oologah when the wind is blowing 15 mph south to north….
E2, I bought a z21 based on your review in 2021. I love the boat. My first Nitro. The ride and standing stability is fantastic. Unfortunately for health reasons I haven't been able to use it and probably going to have to sell it😢. I added the Dowco Cruise Air seat that gives so much back support. I must say, the interior fit and finish is so much cleaner and well thought out vs. the old Nitros meaning Z8 z9s Etc. Thanks for all your videos. I resubed 9 months sabbatical. God bless, Guy
I ended up getting the Z20 Pro over the Z19 and the two biggest reasons were the HP and size of lakes around me. My home lakes are Lake St. Clair and Lake Erie, so the bigger the better. Also, those extra 250 horses absolutely makes a difference…getting up on pad and top end you’ll see and feel the difference - but I also could see myself not regretting my decision getting the Z19 had I done it. If you aren’t constantly going to giant bodies of water, I guarantee you won’t regret getting the Z19, because all my buddies that fish inland lakes love the Z19. It’s all preference, you really can’t go wrong with either.
@anglinguncensored844 Z19 actually gets on pad quicker, one it has a lower gear driven prop and it is a little lighter plus the fuel consumption is much, much better.
Finally a real comparison with a tape in hand. More information in this video than all the “new boat walk throughs” put together.
Cool video. They are both sweet boats and you do get a lot for your money with Nitro. It’s crazy how high bass boat prices are in general though.

25 mile an hour speed limit? what is the lake patrol out there with the radar detector? How do they enforce that? and I’d be hunting for a new lake?

Man, they are both faster, more comfortable, just all around better than my innertube !!!

If I had the money I would pick safety every time. I know from experience what rough waves can do to a person’s back. 🎣🙏
Great review of two awesome boats, so close in most parameters. Gives me plenty to think about if I ever want to upgrade. Thanks Edwin!!

I like the z8/z9 hulls much better. And the 20 footer just does everything a guy needs. Love it!
awesome job Edwin very close in comparison this was very helpful when i plan to upgrade...

Thats a rough gig, when the boat is a year old and you've already sold it and have a newer bigger boat, fully equipped.
I'm a dock fisherman so the 20 maneuvers lil better in an around docks.
Z21xl all the way. Love my 08’ Z9.

I like sitting higher so I would pick the Z20. How about a 24 inch pitch as Ott Defoe uses on his Z21 xl?
Paying $20k more for 8 inches more boat ... let me think about that .. um nope
This is the argument I’m having with myself trying to choose between the Z19 and Z20…
Imma go with the Z21

Anyone know who makes the boot brush that mounts to the trailer steps?
This was a great video,
Why do I need a boat like that to go scoping all day? Give me a pontoon. More screens, more transducers.
Ok but who got a Z19 and didn’t regret it? This is my primary, budget driven choice. Is the 8” of casting deck space on the Z20 worth it for $6k more?
The fuel efficiency of the Z19 is outstanding

Gotta stick to my 18' ft ranger
Z21 !!! All day
Too bad this isn’t a give away video 😂😂
The one without Gaydar
Neither one lol. Not a nitro fan. I'd go vexus.
There both junk . Anything from White River corp
Junk boats! Plain and simple. Magically terrible all way around boat. Trash
Z21xl 300hp am bless

You must be joking. Nitro is the Hyundai. Kia of bass boats. Bottom shelf
