It's a classic hey! I'd have to agree, I'm a sucker for 90's but do feel like a lot of them haven't stood the test of time particularly well. This whole album (and velvet rope) has aged insanely well I think. Much more Janet on the way! ❤️ (and can never go wrong with James Brown) 🔥
This has always been one of my favorite Janet Jackson tracks. Years ago I recreated this for a friend to sing over during a live event. Using hardware before recording in the box with software (as they say) became a thing. It was so much fun. I didn't use as many layers of tracks as Jimmy and Terry did, but the bassline, Les Paul guitar, keys, and drum tracks were enough to create the vibe. Thanks for sharing this. It brought back some good memories. Peace

@@redjupiter2to point out the most recognizable sample is being a bot? That makes no sense to point out this amateur mistake. That sample was used on tons of songs like Amen & Funky Drummer and is very recognizable.

There's nothing better than a yap about Janet! I think we share a brain - have pretty much the exact same favourites, maybe we can chuck You Want This and Funky Big Band in the mix? Velvet Rope and All For You tours are just unbelievable hey, the showmanship is unbelievable, and she always finds new ways to keep her shows fresh! I hope you hang around for these next videos, we have a lot of Janet to breakdown ahah
@@sammymccormack_ Yes there’s so much she has that are really good, even after the whole super bowl situation like r&b junkie and all nite (don’t stop) and the velvet rope choreographed the hell outta the velvet rope tour and shawnette choreographed the hell outta the all for you tour. and janet also gave so much credit to her dancers which not many artist do anymore
Exactly. There's a few breaks that have been used a billion times and are super recognizable unless you're an amateur. Breaks like Impeach the Prez, Funky Drummer, Amen, Apache, Ashley's Roachclip, and a few others.
Jam and Lewis wrote, produced, arranged and everything else on the song. Don't get me wrong I love Janet always have but I'm tired of artist getting all the credit because they are the person in front. Jam and Lewis could have let a homeless person on the street sing that song and it still would have been a hit
Jam & Lewis definitely some serious damage! I agree with this completely, lead artists get pretty much all of the credit, especially nowadays, at least with Janet you know the team was doing their thing and always gets their flowers, especially from her! That's what makes them such a great trio. Did my best to showcase Jimmy and Terry in the video as much as I could, but if you don't think it's enough, I'm definitely happy to touch on them more. I actually read this comment a couple days ago when I started prepping the next Janet video and took it into account - so thank you for the honest feedback 🙏🏽
I mean, obviously it was a very collaborative process, I hope I kind of got that across throughout the video - Jam and Lewis are next level and largely the brains behind it (as producer's usually are) - presenting her the song at what I believe was a fairly finished state. But still, Janet has writing and production credits, and has to perform the piece and make it her own - so is still a big part of "making it" in my opinion! It's not the song it is without her involvement, that's why they all work so well together. Either way, I appreciate you at least getting to the video, I hope there was still some interesting tidbits in here you found interesting from a production standpoint. These three have some pretty epic songs.
You really had me in the first half ahah! Jam & Lewis just find a home for everything, a crazy amount of sounds in this! I agree, would love if today's music could get back to that. I think it will, things usually swing the other way eventually
Also, just checked out your one more time remix, would have never thought that song could sound like that - you're real talented man! Keep up the great work 🔥🙏🏽

You have great taste - It's incredible! What are some of your other favourites? I'd love to break those down for you too 🫶🏻
@@sammymccormack_ Thank you! Your breakdowns are top tier! “Any Time, Any Place”, “I Get Lonely” and “Doesn’t Really Matter” are some of my other favs.
Thank you very much, I'm glad you're enjoying them! Those three picks are so so good, can definitely make that happen for you 🤝 It's starting to look like the next year of content is going to be solely Janet and Britney ahah (and it's going to be epic!)
Too good!
Crazy hey! Can't wait to dive into more Janet songs together 🫶🏻 they're just next level
The sample was by James Brown
It is! James Brown is just insanely good. Can't wait to do more Janet (and James Brown) tracks together ❤️🔥 do you have any requests or favourites? I'd love to do those for you
amazing ! love janet please do If or You Want This. or Throb!
I think we have the exact same taste ahah! Very keen to do all of these of you 🫶🏻 and love to see some love for You Want This! Underrated gem 🔥
Please do feedback ❤❤❤❤
Yesss great pick, added to the list! There is A LOT of Janet on the way 🫶🏻
Dammmn nice! where are you getting these stems from.
Amazing remix at the end! Do you perchance have Rina Sawayama Hold the Girl or Sophie Ellis Bextor Catch You Orchestral version. They're random but I also never expected anyone to have access to this gem of a song.
Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed 🫶🏻 almost couldn't believe how good this sounds stripped ahah.
I don't have those ones (yet!) but will do some digging for you. I appreciate the culture lesson too, hadn't actually heard either of those tracks before until a minute ago, would be great to break them down!
bro where do you get all the studio multitracks?
Please do how Janet did So Excited and Feedback ❤
Mannnn great picks! You have the best taste. Added these both to the list along with Britney for you
I love this, what is the daw that you are using
Thank you! There's plenty more videos like this to come. And I'm using Logic Pro 🙏🏽
I am a Huge Janet Jackson fan, and this is one of my all-time favorites from her. Just curious. Where are you getting all these original stems from? Do you buy them? Or simply find them online somewhere? I’d love to get my hands on them as well to play around and do my own remixes because this looks like a lot of fun, as she’s one of my all-time favorite female artists. ❤❤❤
Love this channel and this video specially. I have tons of Madonna, Janet and a few Mariah multitracks if you ever need something
I really appreciate the love mate, thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying the videos 🫶🏻
Do you have instagram? Can chat on there a bit more if you'd like, mine is @sammymccormack
How much time does it take to craft all that ( just the beat ) ?
And do you do Beats as well ?
Where do you get the files from? 👍
You are missing a key important track which is the impeach the president drum loop sample that is in the background.
So mad I didn't talk about this too! Mentioned James Brown and completely forgot about ITP 😭
I hope you enjoyed the video either way. Will make sure to cover the samples better in the future Janet breakdowns, because man do Jam & Lewis use a lot of them ahah
Good Video
Thank you legend, really appreciate the love and requests
Where you get the stems from?
how did you get the multitracks?
How did you get hold of the stems?
Are you using logic pro x to get stems
I already have the WAV's and use Logic to play them 🙏🏽
Smh. On the drums, you missed the biggest part which is an obvious drum loop of Impeach the President by the Honeydrippers.
@@redjupiter2to point out the most recognizable sample is being a bot? That makes no sense to point out this amateur mistake. That sample was used on tons of songs like Amen & Funky Drummer and is very recognizable.
Didnt impeach the president sample Funky Drummer by James brown? Wouldn’t that still make this a James brown sample?
@@TonyCapony_ What? Impeach the President was a song from 1973.
@@sjb3240and Funky Drummer came out three years earlier, 1970
@@TonyCapony_Ok, dummy. Just to break the news, they were not using samplers to make beats in the early 70's.😅
Can you put You Should Be Dancing by The Bee Gees and Disco Inferno by The Trammps on Your list too please
Are you reading my mind? Was planning on doing Bee Gees next! Love Disco inferno too (of course the 13 minute version ahah). Have added them both to the list 🔥❤️
can you do IF next?
You have the best taste, consider it done! Next Janet video is If ❤️🔥
@@sammymccormack_ i try my best lol. just a bit of yapping about her music.
IF is among my favourite songs of hers, also other great ones like, go deep, YOU, come on get up, doest really matter, all for you, miss you much, trust a try and run away just to name some
i do also love how she performs live especially in the velvet rope tour and all for you tour
@@sammymccormack_
Yes there’s so much she has that are really good, even after the whole super bowl situation like r&b junkie and all nite (don’t stop)
and the velvet rope choreographed the hell outta the velvet rope tour and shawnette choreographed the hell outta the all for you tour. and janet also gave so much credit to her dancers which not many artist do anymore
Had to subscribe.
Thank you 🥰 we've got some epic tracks on the way (and plenty more Janet!)
Please break down if!!!!!
Fortunately it seems like we want the same thing ahah! I'll make that the next Janet song for you 🔥
The drums threw me off...Should have used the Impeach The President break
Exactly. There's a few breaks that have been used a billion times and are super recognizable unless you're an amateur. Breaks like Impeach the Prez, Funky Drummer, Amen, Apache, Ashley's Roachclip, and a few others.
Please do LADY GAGA SONGS!!! I beg youuuu.
Would love to do Gaga! What are some of your favourites? I’ll add them to the list 🫶🏼
I actually read this comment a couple days ago when I started prepping the next Janet video and took it into account - so thank you for the honest feedback 🙏🏽
title is interaction bait since SHE did no make anything. u know that, right?
@@sammymccormack_ got u . u are right
talk about over production. half of this would of got cut out today
but that why music sucks today
You really had me in the first half ahah! Jam & Lewis just find a home for everything, a crazy amount of sounds in this! I agree, would love if today's music could get back to that. I think it will, things usually swing the other way eventually
Also, just checked out your one more time remix, would have never thought that song could sound like that - you're real talented man! Keep up the great work 🔥🙏🏽
