ONCE YOU GET OVER 100K MILES.. value has to drop a shit ton due to all of the accessory repair (alternator/starter/power steering) and the fluids/normal 100k mile mx items. That's easily 7k or more depending on the status of the suspension etc.
Same as the housing market, the used car market won't come down until the new car market comes down. You can't get into a new 4 door 4x4 truck for under $50k... someone who NEEDS a truck will pay $20k for a truck with 88k miles. Even a pos like an avalanche
I would definitely be a bar that avalanche I’d add goes high is 15 five for it. I had one when they first came out, but it brand new off the showroom floor. The local Chevy dealer went into business the next day, and I beat the daylights out of the landscape industry. When I got rid of my avalanche, it had 250,000 miles for itand it was pretty much on its last leg and I still got $2500 cash towards a ram 1500 back in the day.

I like the 400,000 mile car. "It's not worth much" Exactly. Make it roadworthy. Low insurance, no debt, license/registration will be cheap. And won't be a target for theft. - new suspension - engine overhaul - new tires All that is cheap if you do the work yourself. Cheap, old, but good. Perfect. Will not be buying an $85,000 truck, at any time, for any reason.
Man Toyotas current issues with their engines has really affected them worse than I thought! it wasnt to long ago a Toyota that looked that good would bring 20k even with the rust and people would be throwing money at you at that price.
For dealers to pay $15k for a 100k+ mile vehicles what's there break even on it, reconditioning, maybe small.mechanical repairs etc I'm one of those old guys that would pay 5 figures for anything like that, I'd rather find some way older, non computered vehicle and put $ to fix it up..the way auto makers build cars they have a shelf life of a bid lighter..imo Your videos are great...thanks
New car prices are so high, people aren't buying them. When they don't buy them, they don't trade in their used car. Dealers are fighting for used cars because of this and because they are lower priced than new, they actually sell. The used car maket isn't going to crash anytime soon. Simple supply and demand. New car prices will fall first. Example Stellantis, but it will take time for all those new cars to make their way into the used market.

That maroon Camry was not taken care of at all so you know they didn't service it or change the oil
Can’t stop laughing at that part. So good!
Should have "Dutch Auctions". Start High and drop by increments...........FIRST BID TAKES IT! Cuts through the BS.
you guys have been saying it's over for 2 years and the prices have not come down
I just want to say that I appreciate your content and believe most of what you are saying. You are arguably one of the most upfront believable used car dealerships out there, would love if I could tell you what I am looking for with your minimal markup and get what I am looking for. With that being said you do not deal in the price range I am looking at, not that I disagree with your philosophy on current car market, actually believe that you are spot on. The disappointing thing for me is that your thumbnails are just for clicks as the car market I am following is not coming down. Again you are giving good content, but numbers are not matching captions.
I've owned an Avalanche. More luxurious than a Cadillac (had EVERY option) and pulled my 30 foot Jayco just fine ... Expensive at the pumps, but what do you expect. I really liked that truck.
Lucky! I wanted one so bad back in the day when I was married. Loved Gen 1 green. The flexibility would have been great. Ended up with Sienna minivan instead. 🙃
A local large Chevy dealer just bought a local used car dealership to sell cars that they would have otherwise sent to auction. Interesting!
WOW those East Coast hillbillys must have deep pockets! Those cars are priced higher than what you would see in Commifornia
Because it’s called crimefornians will
Just buy 😂it
if i was an auction there is no way id make it private right now. Would bring in more people, drive up prices but at the same time your everyday guy would get stuff way cheaper than your middle man salesman deals. Except for that avalanche thats wild paying that much for it lol
ONCE YOU GET OVER 100K MILES.. value has to drop a shit ton due to all of the accessory repair (alternator/starter/power steering) and the fluids/normal 100k mile mx items. That's easily 7k or more depending on the status of the suspension etc.
Gotta crawl under and look at frame between cab and bed on those older tacos that’s where they rust in half
I wouldn't buy a used car with over 200k miles unless it was a diesel.
Generally, agree if it's not a modern diesel. I won't buy a brand new modern diesel. Not worth the trouble.
There are some solid V8s from GM that I'd consider or the V10 Triton from Ford, if well maintained.
"...the El Camino of trucks." 😂😂😂
I loved el camino as a kid even got to ride in one for a while
I have a 2010 Ford Fusion with 276k miles. Runs great,
As always thanks for showing the high mileage beautiful beater.
Does the $15,300 include the price of the replacement transmission that the Tahoe, Suburbans, and Silverados at auction absolutely need?🤣
He overbid on that Lexus. Tryna recoup some of that money 😂😂😂
I have a 2017 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro with 31246 Miles What would be a good asking price to sell or trade off? Its Metal Gray Leather Seats Moonroof with Big Tires.
As a Yankee in upstate NY, i definitely would have bought that Tacoma lol. Especially at that price it went for. Like you said, us up north people that ain't a lot of rust for us 😂
I like the 400,000 mile car.
"It's not worth much"
Exactly. Make it roadworthy. Low insurance, no debt, license/registration will be cheap.
And won't be a target for theft.
- new suspension
- engine overhaul
- new tires
All that is cheap if you do the work yourself.
Cheap, old, but good. Perfect.
Will not be buying an $85,000 truck, at any time, for any reason.
These prices are insane i remember in the 90s anything over 75,000 miles was considered a junk car and your insane if you paid more than $100
Maybe you can work with other dealers and see the pricing in different area's
keep up the great work with transparency !
Brother, U have Excellent Promo. Me & my beautiful Wife eat these often. The food is awesome. No disappointments. peace
Wrong year on that Avalanche, GMT800 before fuel management and emissions ruined the engines
Man Toyotas current issues with their engines has really affected them worse than I thought! it wasnt to long ago a Toyota that looked that good would bring 20k even with the rust and people would be throwing money at you at that price.
My Dad had bad rear noise quite often and thought it was hilarious. 😆🤭
For dealers to pay $15k for a 100k+ mile vehicles what's there break even on it, reconditioning, maybe small.mechanical repairs etc
I'm one of those old guys that would pay 5 figures for anything like that, I'd rather find some way older, non computered vehicle and put $ to fix it up..the way auto makers build cars they have a shelf life of a bid lighter..imo
Your videos are great...thanks
Rear axle noise? My wife just kept turning up that radio until gears/bearings locked up! 3rd member was deep purple from heat.
As soon as interest rates tick back up, it will be much more expensive to tie up money in lot rot.
Just bought a 96’ f150 for 4k. Runs like a champ
That avalanche won’t make it to the dealership hahah
Just why
Question: Are there more buyers turning up or is it just less people buying more vehicles?
Guys if you think that Avalanche is crazy there's a 2002 toyota echo at my local craigslist with 150k miles for $5,000 😂 brand new the car was $12,000, yet here we are.
At this point, I have to believe these auctions are just dealers playing with old money. No one is actually buying this junk, are they?
Vote Trump.
When used trucks start costing less than what they sold for new, then i`ll start looking at them! They have 2019 F250`s selling with 100K for 62K when they sold new for 48K! People need to stop paying these prices!
I have a 2020 Hyundai ELANTRA with 37K miles on it and showroom condition. The dealer is only offering me 9000 as a trade-in. I should bring it to this auction, I could probably get 20 K for it.
Crazy prices. It seems the market never recoverd from cash for clunkers.
I write my 7 like that! Good ole fashion North Carolina education system!
Bad rear noises and smoking what a combo.
Re: bad rear noise.
We refer to it as "crop dusting", thank you very much. 😊
No one has ever said car dealers are smart.
Where do you advertise for your car lot?
my wife hates it when my rear end makes a bad noise .....🤣🤣
How do you feel about it when her rear end makes a bad noise? 🤣😆😆🤣
got a Euro or Quebec writer on that lot... that 1 and that 7!
Prices are still Pie-in-the-Sky! Dayuum!
Bad rear noises? Must be the Taco Bell....
Funny!
I rarely eat Taco Bell, but I tell ya the tooting that goes in from BOTH of us at night is almost entertaining.
*flap* *flap* *flap*
Would of been nice to know what that white Ram 1500 went for towards the beginning of the video
Brandon what did those apocalypse trucks sell for?
The EV push will keep used vehicle prices high for the foreseeable future. Less inventory of used vehicles people want. No crash will ever happen.
