      @PumaPete just imagine. You could completely restore your current truck. Drop a new engine in it, redo the interior, and still have money in your wallet vs buying new. Then after 5-10+ years sell it for a decent price.
      Today's engineering is not what it used to be. Years down the road the global market will not be anywhere close to affordable.
      I could buy a 2018ish Landcruiser and pimp it out. Work on it. Restore it. Then in 15-20 years it would be worth... a lot of money 💰

    I'm an old man, so I can recall that the world's most expensive production car in 1962 was the Rolls Royce Silver Cloud at just under $18,000, at a time when a Chevy Impala sold for $2,800. Now we have Jeeps... JEEPS!... selling for the price of 7 Rolls Royce Silver Clouds!! It boggles my old brain.

    • @jrobmccoy
      @jrobmccoy 2 месяца назад +30

      To be fair, $18k in 62’ is just shy of $190k today still cheap for that class of car through. Although $2800 for that Impala would be a reasonable $30k today!
      These companies love to claim “INFLATION! INFLATION!” But are selling 2x~4x the current inflation rate. Greed, plain and simple.

    • @nadeenzamora

    • @hawkeyetec
      @hawkeyetec 2 месяца назад

      @kclefthanded427 50 years ago the USA had the big 4. AMC didn't build what the consumer wanted or needed. I'm seeing the same trend in what's left of the big three.
      The big three are disconnected to a point they in the same track as AMC .
      Mopar bought jeep and that's all that left is jeep.
      The big three need to build value. Cars that are affordable to buy easy to repair because they can buy software or books on diagnostics.
      Standardize the systems and make them reliable.
      Along with the aftermarket support of late model and older parts availability and or upgrades to update / upgrade systems .
      These policies will have the domestic automotive manufacturers the traction they lost.

Right behind it was a Ford F150 Raptor and it looked great...then i checked the price out, $93k and just laughed and i couldn't stop laughing as i left the dealership. The sales guy was looking at me and i was just shaking my head laughing. Now i could buy it but WHY would i spend that much for a F150 with some customization on it? No, ABSOLUTELY NOT, not now, not ever. The moment somebody wastes that money and drives off the lot they will lose $25k in "value" as they pull out to drive away.

They also know to keep their place in the market the cars would have to be built to last but the byd shark parts are interchangeable with raptors and rangers.
