lol I'm amazed Des & Mel didn't apologise for it as what usually happens during a live broadcast at lunchtime. Maybe they didn't realise until later! lol
NashvilleEnterprises nice try, but no, she most certainly did not say mashuga, she said shitty, which is why she said it under her breath. make no mistake, bea cursed like a sailor
it’s sad that she never got to see the picture of the Golden girls they had up on the screen. She was reaching for glasses got them and then was interrupted.
Tyrell Anderson After her death, different actors and so-called "insiders" have shared different stories. Some of the stories have variations which makes me question them. That doesn't mean there is absolutely zero truth to them, but Bea's close friend Angela Lansbury once said this, and it may explain some things... "Bea was absolutely the antithesis of the characters she portrayed. She was sensitive - really, really sensitive - and self-conscious. But she covered it up by becoming this deep-voiced comic...That voice went ahead of her all the time, giving people the wrong impression of toughness and an overbearing attitude. She wasn’t like that at all."
I saw her one woman show in Indianapolis in 2001 and absolutely loved it and was fortunate to meet her in person later the same night. Just wonderful.
You're so lucky! I bet she was a class act. She was lovely. :)
I saw her one woman show in D.C. and it was fabulous.
Lucky youuuuu!!! that’s nice thing to have !
We waited for ages at the stage door at the London Savoy in 2003, but she didn't appear. No regrets, had we not tried we'd never have known.
The most naturally funny lady ever to hit the stage! Her work and humor will live on forever!!!

No she didn't swear, she said "Mashuga places." A lot of jewish people say it. Think it's Yiddish. Not sure if I got the spelling right though.

"I got you Babe"...Well...Yes and no ^^ It is indeed a prison down here but there's a way out, being redeemed...:)
Bea was a "difficult" person in real life but she was a unique "genius" in her field
Where did you read that about her being difficult?
