How did we get here?
After a year of full time travel living the van life, we had to adapt when the world changed. To keep busy we’ve converted our tiny house on wheels into a fully functioning off grid home that has everything we need. Realizing that none of us know how long this new normal will stick around, we made the decision that building a home here was the best decision we could make. We've spent the last year doing EVERYTHING involved with coordinating and planning the build ourselves as well as setting up this off grid property to be able to provide us with the the food we'll need in the future. That led us to needing a place to live while we realized our dream of building a shipping container home. After lots of searching we finally discovered Geodesic Dome's and it was the perfect fit for us while we took our time with the container home.

Putting down the projects and focusing on friendship is something that we want to get a lot better at…there’s always going to be something we’re trying to cross off the never ending to do list but as cheeseball as it may sound, these are the moments that we’re going to look back on and remember. Charlie and Eddie had the best time too, we had to fight with them to get out of the water…as much as we love the Land, it really has us longing for something by the water! 👀

The mental pressure of a project is real! Even though it is on a small scale to what you guys face from week to week, even an unfinished art project weighs on me until I finish it. There are always those moments where I wonder if the next thing I do is going to ruin everything I have already done, so I quit for the day to start fresh with new eyes the next day. As a rule the first thing on my mind when I get up the next morning is that unfinished project. How funny or perhaps sad it is that we put this kind of pressure on ourselves instead of just enjoying the processes of the projects we take on? Humans! We are one strange and crazy species.
Charlie & Eddie had the best time with Bear & Izzy. There were two animals missing. Squirrel & Occy. Maybe next time they can be there too. Spending time with friends is so special🎇🎇

I remember similar times with my wife and our friends when we were your age. In a blink of an eye I am in my 70s and on my own. Thanks for bringing back some great memories for me. Oe thing always leads to three others. My husband decided that, now that the monsoon season is over, we should replace the old, leaky traditional roof tiles of our main house with new ventilated waterproof roofiing tiles. He decided to do this while I was away for 3 week in China - so as not to stress me out having to live in a construction site. Well, I got home yesterday. No roof on the main house (old one gone, but new one not on.) And, in addition, we now have a big hole in the yard dug for a swimming pool, plus a huge foundation poured for a new building, destined to become our oldest son's new art studio and gallery. 3 projects, none even half finished. No stress. Maybe by Christmas 😂.

Love your videos, I i feel like we're friends. You remind me of the stuff I did back in my 20s and 30s (I once refurbished an old chicken coop to make an overnight stop (I was taking ginseng and goldenseal for energy). I can still hear my dad saying "Let the saw do the work, let the hammer do the work." I learned so much from him. I miss him so, but he had a long wonderful life. We loved the woods.

Suggestion:
When cladding start 'half the height of a plank' up from the bottom; Use a laser or string to mark a level line. Check the first piece to be level and attach. Then, work your way up, checking for level from time to time. Finally, at both top and bottom, scribe a plank to the required [remaining] height..

That literally one piece of siding you got placed was the most difficult one to place. It’s done now! So everything will be easier and thus quicker. It’ll get done! It’s fun to see your interactions as you express your friendship between each other.
My 3rd time watching that one row of siding go up yet I’m still entertained 😂
