Hello @ETA Prime.
You have some great videos that have really helped me understand emulation/single boards and just regular good ol knowledge.
Keep up the awesome videos.
From sunny Orange County California have a great day.
Beautiful device I just pre-ordered it.
I hope you bring many more similar devices.
Greetings from Ecuador
The ETA is soon & the Countdown to a Million subscribers commences. This channel has helped my knowledge grow immensely! Great video today, your dedication to great content has always been remarkable.
Same he showed me so much technology I didn't even know existed... but my financial advisor hates this channel..🤣
Unbroken Software and Emu Movies have greatly benefited from ETA.
Eta has been interviewed by somebody maybe you already seen it. Maybe he will tell you something if you find the video.
The RAM is a bit of an overkill. I'm hoping Qualcomm release a TV box with official Google/Android TV and the Snapdragon Gen 1. My Shield TV 2015 is showing its age. The CPU cannot handle AetherSX2
Hey there, I really like your videos and you are becoming one of my first channels to check daily so thanks!!! I am looking for SBC arm based and I'm really confused what is the absolutely best one in process power to choose knowing that I'm going to run android 12 and use it for all streaming + emulation? Your advice will be taken for sure as you tried a lot of them.
I'm between mekotronics R58X ,firefly or khadas? Or anything that beats these ones on android 12
Also what do you think about Tencent Aurora Box 5Pro as it is there already but I don't see anyone really on RUclips reviewing it?
I'm definitely going to consider a SBC when my Shield is no longer supported. I am tired of having someone else decide what I see on my home screen. I know, there are 3rd party launchers. Those can be blocked at any time. I used to love those cat and mouse games with companies. There comes a time when you're too old for that. You jyst want to spend a rainy Sunday setting everything up and have it stay that way.
This is what I would imagine the pi5 to perform like
That would be awesome but I’m thinking we won’t see this kind of performance from it.
@@ETAPRIME it would be cool to at least see the pi5 to be able to run gt4 at 1x resolution smoothly
Want similar x86 Mini PC for my more than a year old Almost Unused NexDock, that I bought. (ETAprime video inspired)
Any suggestions? This world is new and confusing to me. TY anyway
This is 340$ (without cooler). Pi5 will be 50-100$. The pricing is ridicculous considering I can get steam deck for the same price for example.
@@charliemaybe definitely
Can't wait to get my hands on this little board.
👍👍👍 P.S. How can you make your videos so often? Do you have big team?
Clean 4K 60Hz play back should be a minimum goal for the Raspberry Pi 5!
I'm hoping they are using the supply shortage time to work on the design and hopefully come out with a banger.
1080p60hz should be a goal first since the Raspberry Pi 4 struggles to even do 720p half the time, forget 1080p.
Thay would be great to have but hope I'm hopping for at least a full size HDMI port and USB C alt mode ("single cable") support on the Pi 5.
Knowing the Pi foundation, likely not. Remember they are stuck using Broadcom chips which are not known for high performance. What they need to do is break the partnership and move on to better manufactures at least for a high end series.
@@harshbarjlol... a "high end pi"...
Can I have a "low end 4090" to go with it?
That cooler looks really cool.
Glad to see you upload the Android version
Thanks for the great info it looks similar to The Rock 5B. The RK3588S is a scaled-down RK3588 with fewer features for more affordable SBCs. does that mean Rock 5B is more superior?
Great overview. Looks like a great SBC for SD systems. A little pricey though. I was reading through the comments and saw the NanoPi R6S mentioned and would love to see you review it if you weren't already planning to :)
Awesome SBC! I would personally like to see a valorant test gameplay on SBCs since it's a CPU intensive game.
I can't wait to see you testing the leaked i3-n300 and i3-n305 CPUs for emulation, especially as this branch of CPUs grow in core count. Should be very capable and very power efficient.
hahaha just when I was wondering when were you gonna release a video showing Android's performance on this board, jeez RUclips really does read your mind 😅, All jokes aside I was actually hoping that you'd be testing a bit of Citra and Skyline as well
This is an awesome SBC. Just to see one with some great PS2 emulation.
Can't wait for this kind of performance to be around the $100 mark. Looking forward to playing through the lotr games on ps2
Have a look at the NanoPi R6S.
@@LivingLinux Woah, tysm
@@LivingLinux NanoPi R6S has the same processor. RK 3588S and comes with 3 Lan ports. Perfect for running a custom router.
Why not just play it on ps2
@@LivingLinux Thats 119 euro... but since that AM4 mainboards starts at 60 euro and there starting to show up many 3588/3588S systems I think most will be a lot cheaper soon or totally irrelevant. There are plans to use the 3588S in SmartTVs... so it's probably dead cheap.
Hi ETA your videos are great and can you try nfs games in emulator i wonder how its performance
Amazing. Does it handle high frequency vidéo output for gaming screen ? (144hz and more)
I would love to see the RK3588 in an anbernic device in the near future.
The first time I see a tablet with this SOC, I'm buying it!
Can you try gaming/emulation on a Project Voltera?? :D
SBC's sure have come a long way since the pi3
Great content as usual.
I'm looking to replace my nVidia Shield 2015 for something newer, but not for gaming or emulation but mainly for watching movies, TV (both streaming and local). Would it be possible for you to try running like Plex, Netflix and Disney+ or any other streaming service and see what kind of sound formats are supported somehow? Like does the RK3588s support Dolby 5.1, Atmos etc. Or would you be restricted to just stereo? I'm not really seeing any good alternatives to the ageing Shield.
No info regarding audio on their website, but it is rocking the newest HDMI standard which supports all the latest Dolby technology, including DTS-HD, meaning up to 7.1 lossless.
@@Toteniuz cool thanks! Good to know.
I think TV Change is viable option ( in ur case )
@@__lim494 TV Change?
@@uncannygambit change ur tv? Most mid-range tv, have android based os and basic streaming apps. So...
(Sorry for my bad english. Its not my mother tongue 😅😰)
Will you test the ORANGE PI 5 soon ? (similar board but looks a bit more powerfull than KADAS EDGE 2 on paper)
Hey ETA what's the Widevine level on it. I have the R58X with pretty much the same specs but Android 12 is level 3
Looks pretty good for a small retro emulation system up to Dreamcast/N64/PSP.
Its really cool to see this kind of performance in an arm sbc, but for its price I can buy an odroid H3+ with 2x4GB of ram and 256GB SSD
Yeah hard to justify.
hi Etaprime, wich is the the third-party mapper that you use @min 6:34 for genshin impact? thx a lot
I have a question, as your running this over one cable how would you safely turn it off? I can’t imagine yanking the cable would be a good idea.
Will you be getting a Rockpi 5 for testing? That seems like a better board to me.
I cannot wait for raptorlake E core based SBCs up to 16 cores with 6th gen i5 per-core performance, but at 20w instead of 300w+ for 16 cores at 4Ghz
Looks like we're going to see some powerful handheld emulator device soon.
PLEASE do a review of ClockworkPi's new uConsole!
Are you going to be testing the rock 5 model b? I'd like to see how that does.
Expensive, but really nice. ARM definitely king when it comes to performance at low power consumption and a tiny size.
Pretty neat, but there are Ryzen 5 systems that cost less then the 16 GB Edge 2. Dose the Mali-610 out preform a Vega 8 iGPU?
Different horses for different courses, though. Vega 8 would not do well in running arm-v8a commands, just as mali would not do well in x86. If you're looking for a board to run android on, this will be better option. Otherwise, stick with the ryzen one.
Could this unit get google chrome installed on it and run good, I’m just looking for work emails and surfing with some video playback or would you recommend a mini pc. I seen some of your mini pc vids but not trying to invest too much into work in case some other employees decide they needed my mini pc more than idid
Doesnt a SCOM ( single cable operation mode ) restricts using the board with Displays with lower power output. So wouldn't having two separate Type Cs with one of them being full featured a better option?
I hope some one makes android TV os for this it wud be a nice streaming box
Love your monitor buddy need something like this myself 😳
Finally, SBCs are getting more than 8 gigs of RAM!
Arcade Systems! I always wonder how the SBC would do in an arcade cabinet.
Yeah, pimoroni would build a good cabinet with one. I started one with the Nvidia Jetson/Xavier but gave up hoping someone else would do it first
Hi there ETA!
What version of Android in it?
Can it play Netflix 4K videos?
You could easily stream games to this too and get the maximum experience. How would the latency be?
Could we see a vid on the HoneyComb LX2 with Android, Linux and Windows 11 ARM?
I wonder if this could run from battery. This would make an awesome powerful handheld
Is the Gigabyte Aorus any good, i wanted to buy one, but i read some really bad reviews about it.
Give me a board like this with a M.2 slot and I'd be VERY happy. I'd even settle for a SATA port. But eMMC?
which touchscreen did you use here?
Melty Blood!? I see that you too are a man of culture.
man i really want a portable display
Really wanna what the performance will be to the Microsoft Dev Kit 2023. It is a snapdragon 8cx gen 3 SoC device ... however it seems m1 Mac mini is still a better choice.
this would go crazy with a lapdock
Spotted Hearthstone on the desktop ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
8:55 I never seen, it has a Melty Blood on PS2 emulator before.
What is the small touchscreen at the beginning of the video?
I will buy this and try to make an upgrade on the Sony UX MicroPC
Genshi Impact does have controller support, you have to enable it in the settings, at least it worked on my xbox controller roughly 1 year ago, didn't test it now.
You just have to activate it or else it won't work.
I think you should add "ExaGear: Windows Emulator for you tests...😁 it runs windows and pc games... maybe this would good for this...
the only thing is that the 3588 is already old and new better arm will be out pretty soon - v likely - arm does not have much roadmap guidance which is too bad for them - they are lost on that point and need to get much more aggressive with sbc forward guidance
What one do you prefer my friend give me a good info cuz I want to buy one ARM system for playing cod mobile pubg and lot other games
Eta you should try black desert mobile it has controller support
Khadas Edge 2 VS Orange Pi 5, next 😉
Best channel on youtube
would love to see jak and daxter on pcsx2
Can you make a comparison between Khadas edge 2 and vim4?
But there are also x86 minipcs with similar performance and price point…? Like the pentium silver n6005 In the nuc11 essential? How does it compare to something like this?
single cable is pretty cool
Why haven't we seen this with a more powerful CPU, like the snapdragon 865 or higher? I feel like the overheating issues of an 888 or 8 gen 1 would be nothing versus a decent fan and heatsink, you could even keep it contained in a mini PC case with plenty of room to spare.
Overall I'm excited for windows 11 to become more stable, I'd love to see a mini PC with an 8 gen 2 running windows 11. That'd be really awesome
Honestly I know Khadas for their DAC and Amplifier.
Would you be able to try a windows vertual machine and see if some steam games work
I'm gonna need to see external GPUs tested on this
E-GPU on an ARM board? What use case are ya looking at?
@@vulcanus9384 No specific use case, but it would be nice if it works.
Psp performance seems surprisingly weak, thought this should breeze through 4x/5x even for stuff like God of War.
Is this a step up from SD 845? Same or maybe even slightly weaker?
for the future you should play demo tower of fantasy instead of genshin, basically the same with controller support
Where are the games stored?
Scoped storage has had me beat all day, unable to run games for PPSSPP, Aether SX2 or Dolphin off an external drive.
Is it possible for it to connect to multiple devices via bluetooth?
Can you buy these with pre installed games?
The 8gb version iant all that bad for 200 (kinda on the high side) i have been looking for one of the tiny sff pcs from lenovo ho and dell... Maybe one with a ryzen apu might be a good value. X86 is definitely more powerful in my use case.
But Android sucks. Ethernet does not work. External monitor needs grub mod. Drivers need the image to be rebuilt from source.
Would love to know if Android Auto Can run on this device (not as head Unit but connected to the cars infotainment system)
Please ETA can you upload a video on how to install the google TV version of android?
have you tried arm linux distros
Am I missing something? It seems there is no way to expand the storage on these.
I'm interested in emulation. Where can you buy real ROMs?
I cannot find this version with that heat sink... where?
Can Windows 11 ARM be installed on this or similar boards?
Good for its size. If it does cost around 300 usd.
4:36 Vanced still works? Mine stopped working a couple weeks after Google killed it.
how do you play Genshin with Gamepad on Android ? I tried many apps but none of them work for me
What is the name of that controller and where can I get it?
Gosh if this thing had ethernet id be all over it!!! Hoping the Radxa boards come out soon :)
Why it will not work. You need to use magisk to make a new image.
It begs to have desktop interface on Android, something like Samsung Dex.
Does this run apps like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon video @ 4K ?
How does it handle high refresh rate eg 144hz?
Why does is the case off is that how it look when you 1st purchased
But what happens when you plug it into a 4090 TI Special OC Extreme Edition?
😀
Will you get some promotional code for your community? 😇
Nice board is one of the best ones out there....
Thumbs up just for Tenkaichi 3!
