I think Joe is giving Howard the credit he deserved 20+ years ago when he was the reason people would sign up. Today he is barely responsible for enough sign-ups to cover the cost of the show.. According to the company he is credited for ~1 million subscribers. At $16.99 a month this means he is bringing in around $204 million. His annual salary is estimated to be $120 million and while I can't find anything solid a few articles estimates the combined salaries of everyone else on the shows payroll to be appropriately $75 million. This means ignoring all other costs, he is making the company around $9 million a year. Doesn't sound like the greatest ROI to me.

I think Howard is a big deal to these guys, considering how massive he used to be when they were coming up, even if he’s not still at the forefront of the cultural zeitgeist.

Howard's show has become a stale carousel of the same bits: Ronnie is angry, Sal is an idiot, Richard is a gross hick, JD is goofy, everybody picks on Gary, Fred is quiet and weird, Robin laughs at everything, and Howard is neurotic. Other than the interviews, every bit falls within those categories. The show is completely unlistenable now, and I was the biggest Howard fan alive at one time.

Major hate 4 Howard ffs. I do agree with most but to deny he isnt still one of the best, like top 2-3 interviewers out here asking the right questions to guest then your just hating on dude. I admit the sleepy Joe interview was slow motion tardo but his work with musical guest like Posty, Metallica, Jelly, Miley, RHCP is phenomenal idgaf

Stern turned into the very thing he used to make fun of back on the K-Rock days, he has even said and admitted he is WOKE. Subs to XM have dropped a lot.

I use to listen to Howard . I just can’t listen anymore to him. He’s became what he use to make fun of . Loved when Bubba love sponge was on 101. I turn over now and then but only for little bit. I haven’t canceled as I like music channels and some of the sports stuff.

This guy is a lot less douchey and arrogant than when I saw him a few years ago. Mellowing might have improved his standup since then, too.
