Adam Ondra #47: The Best Boulder Ever Built
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 18 сен 2024
- South of my hometown Brno, the land is mostly flat without any rock to climb. But once you open your mind and eyes, you can find true hidden gems to climb. The next episode is about this magnificent arete which was firstly ascended by pastor Ivo David in 2002 and was waiting for the second ascent. It is definitely the hardest boulderproblem I have ever done in approach shoes.
Note: Believe it or not, I think it is easier to climb this arete with good and sticky approach shoes than climbing shoes. Ivo did it in climbing shoes though.

Let’s pull a prank on Adam Ondra and tell him it’s climbable… holy shit he climbed it!
Hahahahha. Hilarious comment actually
...this is literally what they told the pastor who did the first ascent
I’m convinced that he could climb air if the fog was thick enough. He’d be up there hanging from a cloud.
@@UnleashedTraining101 🤣🤣🤣🤣
These guys: "This crack in the paint makes a great foothold!"
Me: 😲
In this case the feet were entirely holding him via friction, no cracks
@@mrastleysghost thanks for the clarification but we all watched the video lol
@@mrastleysghost jokes
this ultra straight surface has such a nice hand grip
what crack?
Ok, now he is litteraly just climbing sheer walls.
literally cutting edge
Celine Reutig xD
Spiderman confirmed
well, at a corner, but still, superhero type stuff
Buildering
His grip is stronger than my will to live
??????????
:D
Alex Airplanner Not as strong as my death grip
Definitely get that looked at
Maybe not his grip but his will
Corner of wall :
Adam : "You're simply amazing!!"
Yea like huh? Walls like these are literally everywhere
The interesting thing is that he has a really different relationship with that corner now that he nailded it! Awesome sport!
@@jarrettmaltry6305 , are they though? Did you notice he said that it is less than 90 degrees? I have no idea how common that is.
Pastor by day, climber by night, runner up to Adam Ondra, what a badass!
Aren´t you a badass?
Such a well balanced mix of fun, history, motivation and great story telling. Native language definetely makes it more genuine. And showing up your local "climbing legends" is also of great humility and respect. We need more of this! THANKS!
Cláudio Brisighello showing off rather than showing up. You’re right about the fact it’s in Czech and subtitled makes it better.
Imagine driving down that highway and suddenly seeing an unmistakable Adam Ondra mantling onto the shoulder. I would absolutely lose it.
Lmfaoooo id screech to a stop

Kámo, yes
Best quote of the video, "I use to say that one day you will be a proud runner up to Adam Ondra". What foresight this man had to tell his friend who hated losing that one day you will be happy knowing you finished second only to this man and may have (and seems to have if you heard him speak of reading his articles in magazines) help drive him.
Runner-up to Adam Ondra, that is definitely something to be proud of
Those guys are great.
The guy look 20 years older than Adam, how could he had compete with him ? Didn"t get that part at all lmfao
@@emmanuellebeau5231 Adam was 10 y.o. back then :)
@@emmanuellebeau5231 In addition to what Tomas said, Trebic is also a small town in their area, so it would have been a local/regional climbing competition.

The homeless man sleeping under that bridge woke up and was like:
"Im never doing meth again"
The homeless man would climb that wall with his teeth for meth.
@@visible2anyoneonyoutube First bite he wouldn't have any teeth left.
@@Dallisio Teeth are optional when you smoke meth.
What are all those awful comments...
Homeless people in Czech Republic drink instead of sniffing or shooting meth. Where are you from? San Francisco?
This is what happens when you force people to train speed climbing.. :P

😂😂 The madness leads to insane feets of human potential.
haha!
Conor Salisbury lmfao so true
😂
The way he express joy of triumph is like a joyful kid, so contagious and emotional.
When Spider-Man can't figure out how to climb something, he calls Adam Ondra.
It's so sweet to see how much joy Adam brings to all the communities he's visiting on his journey, just making simple human connections (despite his almost superhuman climbing abilities) and paying tribute to some legends of the sport!
I love Adams face when he sends! It’s nothing but JOY!!! 😀😀😀
This is why climbers are amazing the smiles on everyone’s faces.... amazing
You know he's going to send it when the music changes to "paradisical".
Soteriologist ye always the way. Haha
I got that too..haha...he couldn't lose when music changed...
So I wonder why didn't he change the music earlier
Just such a good and nice guy. So much respect for the guys that opened the way for him.
Outside Adam always looks like he has the most fun. Doesnt matter if below a highway or on real rocks.
transforming the corner of a bridge into a climbing project and giving a deeper meaning to it... I'm gonna open my dictionary and correct the definition of "inspirational" with this stuff.
love the way that road to takyo are turing make us discover a different aspect of climbing and some legends of our sport.
Noam Brecin buildering is not new
@@heli400 its not new but a lot of people probably have no exposure to it.
UnicycleSoul HOW?!?.... IDK,... Maybe that’s what separates the real climbers from the “recreational” climbers.
Me growing up looking at stuff thinking..... 🤔. “I can climb that!!🤠”
@@heli400 There are definitely a lot of "real" climbers who aren't buildering.
I love how insanely happy this guy Adam gets when he makes an accomplishment like he did now it's so awesome to watch
Literally climbing *on the road* (to Tokyo)
Well, the camaraderie and spirit and skill and brotherhood in this video brought tears to my eyes...Adam, you are an inspiration to all of us! Have a wonderful 2020!
So happy to see this man succeeding in everything
He gives the feeling everything is climbable, it personally helps me a lot as I climber in my self-confidence
Thanks Adam and congrats for this new performance
Your a diamond chap Adam...you've rightly earned sooo much respect from legendary climbers..been an amazing journey up to now watching you ...true inspiration for me...thank you..never ever change!!
Love to see that same passion on every top out. Inspiring as always.
Krásný Adame . Ta radost z úspěchu na konci rozzářila i mě (y) . Hlavně jde vidět i ta super parta . Gratuluji Adame, gratuluji a přeji ještě hodně takových úspěchů :)
Would love to see more climbs on "public" locations like this one
я закричала от восторга, когда ты долез и смог схватиться рукой за этот выступ.Это потрясающе
Anyone : "Nobody can climb an 8C with shoes"
Adam : "Wait a second"

Maybe because it is an 8B

@@antoninpharel4831 Exactly, 8c barefoot IIRC.
Bla Blum 9a/8c+ boulder* without shoes lmao, opened by him and repeated by a Japanese that confirmed the grade
Just look at the awe and respect they have for him, most of all love. They love this guy. Adam you are loveable because of your genuine humility. Besides your mad skills, this is the best part of you.
This series of videos is awesome man, the production value is enormous
Adam Ondra looks at concrete how I look at my wife.
Unclimbable?
ready to smash it
Getting multiple people involved for one of his shortest climbs?
Waiting to sign the divorce papers?
a constant struggle?
Loved this episode. Very different. Great send, Adam.
Wow! This reminds me of when I first started climbing at 18 years old. My friends and I would climb the granite structure boulders of a train bridge. Between the side structures on each side was the span in between was flat concrete walls. I determined to use strong bonding two part adhesive and stick stones I found to the wall to creat my own routes. I would bring the stones home forts and clean them well. It was so much fun. Great memories.
This is literally how I see the entire world. I see a climb in every building/structure imaginable.
I went to Disney In Florida and almost got kicked out for climbing on the fake boulders.
@@ejl74 SAME! There is so much I'd like to climb and I kind of just have to resist, It takes a lot of self control. I feel immature climbing and hanging on everything I can.
It should be a condition
@@ejl74 i swear i did the exact same thing in Phantasieland germany on arificial rock walls. It just felt right to climb there.

can't help but being genuinely happy for these guys, included Adam Ondra who keeps this freshness whatever he climbs !!!
He’s right, this boulder is actually incredibly beautiful
Adam is so fun to watch man. He can literally climb anything!
Pure joy seeing not only the movement but the smiles on all faces present! The Frog analogy is incredible because it points out the nuanced bounce in the legs each time they hop up further on the wall.
I love the spirit amongst climbers. This is what encouraged me to start climbing 4 months ago, and I can say, it really is like this. Positive, happy feelings all around my local gym as well!
Well this was just so dang delightful to watch
This man’s sheer joy and happiness is as amazing as his climbing skill!
Wholesome moments like that make even a concrete bridge fun
Everybody gangsta till pastor climbs on the wall after praying....
5:30 when the background music stops playing and obviously you're about to see the ascent. XD im watching too many climbing videos.

Adam: the best in the world and just clapping hands and hugging like a "normal guy" having fun. This is awesome to see this side of these elite athletes!!
that was nice, got me a bit teared up when the send happened and the joy exploded in everyone, really nice episode.
I really admire and respect how a first level world climbing like Adam accepts challenges of every kind like this, giving great illusion to all kind of climbers, and making all us dream with every kind of project, ... big like and suscribed
beautiful video. for some reason my favorite yet. love the native language w/ captions. beautiful!
guy wheeler you are right, such a great production!
Climbing 8b.... in approach shoes!! That's it, i'm switching to curling...
You can see he tries regular climbing shoes at one point in the video and switches back. I think the slight heel allows him to press his feet more evenly allowing more surface area to contact the wall surface. Probably happen stance that the angle is just right for that particular shoe he he
Love it, Adam you are an amazing person. Keep on inspiring.
I think what I like the most is the pure joy he gets whenever he climbs something new and interesting.
I struggle to climb out of bed in the mornings 😦
You're probably depressed

This is the most brutally epic use of the slav squat i have ever seen!!!!
Original ascent trains for two years.... ondra does it on the fourth go
The Ginger Power Ranger that’s common actually. Same thing he did with Caldwel’s Dawn wall.
There is a phenomenon where many people do something soon after the first person proves it is possible. I forget the name though
@@shadoninja Another sub 2 hour marathon is probably not too far away
Shadoninja reminds me of the 100 monkey theory, where one monkey learns something and the others intuitively start learning it. Like a cheat code was unlocked that everyone else can use.
@@shadoninja that can bea factor too but mainly Ivo David wasnt a world class climber, he "just" mastered this for two years and got really good at it. Its like mastering a certain shot in hockey and then being surprised that a number one guy can do the same in few tries.
Real life Spider-Man... His joy is contagious...💚🎸
man this guy must really have a great amount of finger strength to grab hold on flat concretes like that
The sheer joy is palpable... clearly a great day for everyone.
He’s always got the right shoes for the climb.
He has a full trunk of shoes every where he drives.
Awesome project and even more so, what a Marvelous Climb by one of the GREATS of Climbing!

Best climber in the world of all time. Thank you Adam to make great this sport!
His grip strength must be off the chart , would hate to have him pull a Spock signature move on me , would hurt like hell
