I collect Steam games because they were on sale, I'll play them someday, I swear.
Have you played them yet?
The games I bought but have never played are piling up.
Why is this so accurate. I have like 500 games but am playing only 3 online games.
I'm collecting fat around my belly. It's cool, you should try it!
I can't
I have an extremely fast metabolism :(
yojgee i do it and its not cool for me.
yojgee I would rather not...
Regina Cava TYT chat not smart enough for you?
Shinobi006 Depends on mood of the trolls and the alignment of the planets :P
Yep, fell into the collecting trap many times. Now i've been in the process of becoming a minimalist. Selling stuff takes WAY more time than buying. It's a pain but my goal is to get rid of just about everything I don't use. But, I'll never get rid of my old concert tickets.
Now you're collecting emptiness.
@@franzhaas5597haha well put
I collect lots of stuff for different reasons. My dvd/book/comic collection has mostly grown around the thought "This looks interesting, I might want to read/watch it some day, and it's better to get it now when it's cheap." My toy and poster collection is mostly about wanting a physical connection to a favorite character or story. And in some cases, both with generic items and with some previously mentioned one (mostly the toys & posters) there are specific memories associated with them.
And this is why pokemon is so damn popular.
I can't stop buying those damn cards... I regret nothing :D
TheNerdWizard Gotta catch 'em all :P
TheNerdWizard I collect Xbox games Playstation baseball cards penny hot wheels comic book Gundam
and on my hobbies origami 3rd origami chess build stuff make call scepter metal sculpted
Yu-gi-oh is better, you fool. My Dark Magician will obliterate your Pikachu.
I love collecting dolls, stuffed animals, stationery etc. because of the nostalgia and my love for cute things.
I collect horror movies! They're my favorite genre, and growing up my dad and I watched lots of horror movies together. Our bonding time was sitting with a big bowl of popcorn, some red vines, and the scariest we could find at Blockbuster. My collection hit 112, and I'm always adding more. 😊
Just be wary of getting that phone call after watching your copy of "The Ring" - you might have only a week to live! lol
Yugioh cards
Video games
Movie tickets
Computer parts
VHS/Dvd/ Blu-ray
I pretty sure I have a problem.
Otk_Obelisk I have 4/5 of those things...don't worry you alright.
I can relate to the tcg lol still going strong with that
I aint got anything from your list but it sounds like something someone would collect
As long as you know that you are losing money for something fun you are all right. If you are one of those people that think cards in plastic containers have value then you have a problem
I have all my motherboards from several decades past + all my friends. I- Do- Not- Know- Why- I- Have- Them.
Transformers and Star Wars action figures, and video games... that kid inside won't grow-up like the rest of my self... keeps me young and happy...
I'm a casual collector of decks of playing cards. I like the feeling of a new find. Like Julia said, the thrill of the hunt. Plus, if you collect something, people always know what to get you for your birthday and Christmas.
BECAUSE
I WANT TO CATCH THEM ALL
What no Comic Book Collectors here ?
Okay I'm one !
Here 🖐
I collect failures... :'(
I collect air. My house and 2 sheds are packed full of it. It's even everywhere in my yard. I feel ashamed :(
I sometimes collect movie tickets if the movie was great or if i had fun that day. The other day i was arranging my drawers and found a ticket from 2005 (the skeleton key movie)
;)
I too had this ailment. Then they started using ink that fades quickly, so somewhere from around 2010, all those tickets have faded because I didn't laminate them. I still have all my concert tickets going back decades, but those from the 2010's have faded. I wonder, was it around this time that "collector's tickets" became a thing? Might there be a soft conspiracy here to get people to buy the collector's tickets?
I love collecting unusal pens , and i have been doing it for 3years , I just satisfied collecting them as i have over 100 collection of them :)
I have a very addictive personality and it causes me to have a ton of mini collections. I have every movie ticket I have ever gotten since 2007, and belive me I am a cinephile so that is a ton of tickets. I have 26 and counting novelty coffee mugs. I use to collect beanie babies before my mom sold them all. I also collect scarves and colorful ankle socks. I live in a hot climate. I wear like 2 scarves a year and I have enough socks to wear every day of the year without washing but I mostly wear flats and don't need socks. I might have a problem in my frontal lobe because just typing all this out made me happy because I love my collections. .....I also have 5,300 is songs on my I pod and 2,700 is fandom pictures saved on my computer. Whoops!
1. Start a character in any RPG.
2. Collect all of the virtual items you can stand.
3. Enjoy your collection without having a giant pile of crap in your house.
I don't know why I am even watching this video maybe because I think my OCD complex of collecting things is out of control? But i take great pride and enjoyment in the things ive collected over the years, my anime and video game collection is my life and damnit, I won't give it up for no one. Now I have a whole library of games or japanese anime that I'm ready to experience any time I want to. Also there is the fact that much of this stuff inflates in price, goes out of print or just becomes rare in which case if you get rid of it, its impossible to acquire it again. Though I acknolwedge its impulsive but I don't see how its harming or detrimental to my mental health.
I just collect everything I can about things I like. And cards, cards of any kind, TCG or themed french decks, I love how a bunch of cards feel on my hand
I collect dvds and movies, pez dispensers, vinyl records, rocks and minerals, oddities and taxidermy creatures, coins and currency. Used to be comic books and action figures. My father collects records and cds, rocks and minerals, kaleidoscopes, books. My mother used to collect beanie babies. Basically we've all got brain damage 🤗
Gotta catch'em all.
As a kid I collected stones, usually quarts as there was quite a lot of it in the lake district (where I used to go on holiday) but often just nicely coloured and shaped stones. I find it hard to throw away train tickets, but I wouldn't say I collect them, more just keep them. I also collect coins, but only really GBP that is in circulation - one of each design.
When I used to travel a lot I always kept the change (banknotes) and placed them in albums, but now that I can't travel I started purchasing worldwide banknotes from a dealer and that way I can get better quality, scarcer banknotes. It's fun.
I collect vintage audio gear, i collect it, because i want to see how engineers designed and build them back in the old days, and also i like restoring them to full working order. As well as listening to them.
Me too! For me it’s fun because this is the stuff I could not afford as a kid. I got started with the less expensive stuff and have graduated to the high end McIntosh stuff. I just can’t get myself to part with the Pioneer and Realistic stuff. It’s all just so cool!
The only thing i have that could be called a collection is a small plastic box that contains childhood memories. Like, an old ninja turtle figure, my book of pokemon cards. A picture of a lion's mane rabbit i used to own. All things linked to a memory.
The Collector nearly got two infinity stones.
I collected baseball cards when i was a kid in the 80's but then got into collecting toys when i got older
Not sure if I agree with some of the things said in this video. Particularly the parts about people having less stuff these days. I think we actually have more material possessions than we ever did.
I collect video games and game consoles because they're my biggest passion and I want to be able to experience them again in the future and because seeing them reminds me of the universes I've explored through them.
I collect Hands Up music. There’s a lot of songs that just can’t be found anywhere on the internet.
I collect a lot of things - harry potter related stuff, concert and movie tickets, comic books, books, and football (soccer) jerseys. The biggest collection i have is my book collection. I make sure i have a physical copy of the best books I've read and books I hear are good. I also buy classical ones. I collect books because it gives me joy everytime i see them lying on my shelf. I collect them because I want my future kids and grandkids to have a glimpse of the past. :)
I collect and enjoy making things as well. To me, it's like objects are alive and have feelings and this idea fits in with my Shinto beliefs. I take care of them and mourn if they get broken. The things around me bring me happiness and I appreciate the effort that goes into making each one of them.
Not a hoarder. I collect books, stamps, fountain pens and watches. My collections are humble at best.
I'm collecting dollars in bundles of one million. My collection hasn't started yet but maybe one day it will.
I collect items on my 'add to cart'
I collect foreign currency, especially coins.
I just like how they look.
Also neat looking containers like interesting bottles and vintage crates/boxes.
RusticKey me too i feel like they are a part of every country's history and makes me want to learn and explore more
I collect video games... oh and used bras.
I collect snowglobes from the countries I've been to, I recommend everyone to buy at least 1 souviner from every new place you visit and keep it somewhere to remember it by, maybe by family photos 🥰
That is an important explanation to peoples odd collecting: they add memories to an object and a decade later by seeing the object, by holding it, talking about it, they remember everything about it and time around it. I collected first rocks when I was a kid, then minerals. I can tell you about each lump and where I found it, what I was doing, wearing, ect. When I collected comic books, I could tell you the price I paid(if a back-issue), where I bought it and when, ect.
I collect key chains. I just like them and I know I will always find a new one.
I mostly collect Games, Anime blu rays and Movies as well, particularly rare ones. Its not really a compulsive need that I have to film, but since I like history it's my way of attempting to preserve a small portion of the past regarding entertainment and the evolution of stories over time in certain cultures.
It's important to note there's a difference between collectors and hoarders. Collectors choose specific things to focus on collecting and more importantly, they make sure it is well-maintained and organized and that it doesn't hinder their ability to do other things. Whereas hoarders often times don't really have a focus and just keep everything they have, or at least keep more collections than they can meaningfully manage. The stuff is also generally not well-maintained and is a disorganized mess that interferes with their ability to do other things.
I am a book hoarder.

The actual term for that is 'bibliophile'.
I collect old things, mostly small things, like coins, and stuff that pertains to a specific memory or time in my life. I am really into history, and I like finding something cool that has been around for a while. I am also very sentimental.
As a kid I collected comic books, trading cards & stamps. I dunno why really, but I'll speculate as to what the motivations were. For the comics, that fact that it was a series, often stories would continue into the next issue, so I wanted to see what would happen next. The fact that a preview of the cover and hints to the story were often at the end of the present issue added to this desire to get the next one. For the trading cards they were games, like Pokemon, and so the motivation was to build the most effective decks possible, so that you were more likely to win the game. Plus, collecting booster packs allowed you to switch things around every now and then to keep things interesting. As for stamps, I collected those when I was really young, so I can't speak too much to that one :p Now that I am older and a musician, I tend to buy a lot of books. I would love to start a guitar collection (I already have 5) but that is difficult because I live in Jamaica, and instruments are expensive to buy locally or to bring in from abroad.
I collect video games and video game systems. I don't play all my games but I enjoy collecting. I started a long time ago.
I love to collect keychains and figurines from different anime. It's actually fun to collect them.
I don't collect anything, I only keep items I genuinely enjoy/use until I get bored with them.
Then I either sell or give them away to charity.
I know of a hoarder of newspapers. From mid-eighties to 2020. Lets say 10 different news papers each day(that he read, not just collected),
that's 3650 a year x35 years is 127,750 newspapers. All in his barn.
His siblings finally wanted to stop this, but then it happened! Some newspapers from the 1990's became worth $1,250 each, or they sold at auctions at that price.
I told my friend that knew the siblings, but they didn't care if he could cash in a total of $10,000 or $50,000-the newspaper hoarding would never end if they didn't clear this up NOW! 🤔
It might make for an interesting episode if D News discusses etiquette for commenting and reasons why some people lose the ability to act like human beings just because they're using the internet.
Seriously, people, they tell us exactly what they want discussed in the comments at the end of every video. Stop polluting the comments sections with irrelevant tangents and remarks about Julia!
I also do the movie ticket thingy. Why? Started with it when I was younger, and now I just continue with it cause, why not.
I collect model planes like Gemini jets or phoenix models what do you collect?
I collect erasers, memo pads and pencil case.
I collect comics, video games, toys, movies, basically a bunch of stuff I love.
I mostly collect books and comics, but I don't do it just to own them, I collect them so I can read them at my own pace. I also collect unusual objects (for decorative purposes), stickers, smooth stones (for decorative purposes) and postage stamps.
My mother collect rocks... They are everywhere. On all tables, outside the front door, under the fireplace. And they all look pretty much the same. Nothing unique about them other than shape. She's always pumped when she comes home with her backpack full of new rocks.
i collect rubiks cube tipe puzzles. i like solving them and figuring out a way to solve others
I started collecting as old as 7 years!!
I collect animal and Nature themed stuff but I collect a lot less than average and I try to seek out stuff from ethical sources. I’m very concerned about the impact that collecting has on the environment!
I collect music on CD, movies on DVD and Blu ray, and books.
I'm a Hot Wheels collector and I love it!
I like to collect Pokémon cards
:3
I collect keys since I find them sort of mysterious. I also collect tea etiquettes and different types of serviettes. I don't really know why though :P
I collect knives, there's just something about a good knife that attracts me like a magnet...
Toys! Its like a addiction..have to collect..feels good

Ps4
Psp
GBA gbc
DS 3ds
Xbox 360.
Lol I swear any pokemon merchandise and games I collect em all.
I am with you - got the same disorder
Really?! No comics collection?! Seriousfuckingly?! It's one of the biggest colectibles in the planet! It's fucking profitable and rewarding, you can teach your kids to read by promising a comic book after doing homework, etc, ect. Comics are the fucking best!
there are plenty of videos here about that hobby, if you look for them.
I was a raven in another life. I collect shiny things from coins, to keys, to rocks, to hat pins.
Re might be. Also same. I stole a few shiny things from people. Well, I tried to 😂
I like to collect sideshow statues. They are so addicting!
Can you make a video on why there is a spark when you plug a cord in an open circuit
I collect action figures/ Toys & I honestly don't even know why anymore. I'm 49 & see them as inspiration for my drawings & paintings but haven't been artistic in 15 years since I had children. Ugh, I just don't get it...
I collect knowledge, that is useless in my life. Like the names of cities, animals, plants or the low of other countries and the names of games and when they're published. Idk why I try to memorize them, but this satisfies me very much.
that is called being a trivia buff, actually.
I collect bandanas, I have 50 of them now
Manga, anime figures, and stationery! Although stationery is different I think - I don't just collect them, I use them when I journal as well!
Ferrari model cars, as well as whole first-editions of books in a series. It's why I wait at the book store.
I love to collect stuff.
I definitely agree that emotion plays a part along with collecting, IMO.
Back in the day when I was a little kid, I used to play tons and tons of arcade video games like Marvel vs. Capcom, Rail shooters, etc and I loved them.. A lot of fun memories. But eventually when the games were replaced by new games at the arcade, :( I became kinda sad and it propelled me to get the console versions and collect the old games and play them again anytime I want. :P
Still, I try my best to restrain myself these days from collecting though. It gets very expensive even when they are great deals sometimes... things can add up FAST.
Anyway I gotta love portable gaming systems. And damn, are they precious to me.. X_x I have over 17 total, all different kinds. My awesome little gadgets lol. So yeah obviously I collect portable gaming systems but have stopped quite a bit recently. My all time favorite is the PSP! q:
The way you described collecting sounds a lot like addiction. Which in a way is kind of true! But it still sounds funny. XD
I made a mocumentary for bells on my channel and now I've started collecting them haha
I collect video games. I guess I just like having a library of stuff that I can share with my friends (and bond with people who share the hobby), and I enjoy going out and looking for games. I also collect vinyl records, but to a lesser extent.
I think I collect because when I was really young my mom encouraged me to start collecting stamps. I quickly moved on to Pokemon cards. At one point I probably decided to stick with what resonates with me the most in terms of collecting (the reason I give away books after I've read them as opposed to keeping a library like I do with games is probably because I'm not going to get the urge to read them again after I'm done... then again, I don't replay most of my games. And I do keep books that have a sentimental value to me).
While there is a primal urge in some people to collect stuff, I think the reasons for collecting what one does varies from person to person, not just category to category.
I'll stop saying stuff I reckon now xD
I like collecting keys. They are cool shaped and it just feels good to have another one added in.
I collect barbie dolls and clothes because I think they're both beautiful and works of art! Also my grandmother had a HUGE doll collection that she passed on to my sisters and I and I want to keep her collection alive and growing for my daughter whenever I have one :)
I collect Blu-Rays because I really like movies and like having a library at my disposal I can call my own. I collect my ticket stubs as well for a reason I don't really know beyond just because I like movies. I also use to collect books but since I don't read they are basically useless and just take up room.
gotta collect 'em all!
I collect movie tickets. I'm not quite sure why. Probably because I'm a movie nerd and I want to remember what movies I saw on the big screen.
I collect Enamel pins
Let me explain...
Well this girl I talked to had a lanyard full of pins. I asked her about it. She said that she found it laying on the ground. So I just decided I would start collecting those pins on a lanyard. That is why I found this video on youtube
I collect sneakers and the thought of me wanting more brought me here
I collect comic books anything star wars Funko pops and I’m obsessed with Displaying the things I collect
How to ruin all fun things in life. Watch a video from Dnews explaining it....

Everything I've ever been too that had a ticket or wristband
Alas, my precious collection is separated and missing a lot of pieces :/
Moving sucks
Realatable. I lose many things by moving. Though i managed to not lose now haha
I used to have a weird friend who collected wwe action figures. A few days after he moved away, I saw a few at a pharmacy. Those things were 10 dollars apiece, I am convinced he had a problem.
I like to collect things in a series, a series of any sort i get into i like to own everything in that series. For example, I'm really into pokemon so i own all the pokemon games. Im into naruto so im going to buy the entire manga very soon
I collect shot glasses because I get one from every place i visit so i have a momento from all the places ive gone.
I collect plants..when i see them in shop i want to have all the varieties..
I limit myself to having few. It is difficult but its imp to control the obsession.
I collect bath and body works stuff I'm obsess with it!!!!
I usually collect interesting articles and interesting videos from youtube
how does hoarding trace back?
was hoarding just extreme way of not letting go of food?
did it help?
did it not help?
was here even hoarding back than?
please do an episode on hoarding , and maybe ways to deal with it,
I've been a hoarder all my life, and to deal with it my parents threw away my stuff by force ,which made me feel horrible and become even more of a collector and hoarder.
I can't let go of bag, boxes, trash I don't need ,
I just became 18 and I got over my food hoarding
I'll try and eat it , but I somehow deide to hoard it (snacks not actual food on a plate ) I can now confidentally throw it away , but that also takes a lot of time.
anything about that that can help please? :)
if you think you have a real problem, it might help to see a counselor. You can also try setting yourself limits, i.e. 'I will only use X amount of space for Y commodity', and then sticking to that as best as you can. Think of the phrase "moderation in all things' - that could be the solution here.
