And nobody talks about the door handles. I saw you inserting your finger to try to get something out in order to be able to pull the door. Can you have easier handles? ADA compliant?
To clarify where it relates to wiring and/or switches/outlets; there are shallow-mount options for both switches and outlets (as well as surface mounts, but that isn't relevant right now), so you "can" technically still have switches or outlets mounted where the pocket for the door is actually installed. It's just a bit of a pain to get it done right, and it's really only something you'd want to do with the walls opened up and the door itself not yet installed.

You would need to remove the upper door jambs. Then the door can be removed from the rollers and the artwork retrieved. The upper jambs are supposed to be screwed on so that you can remove them relatively easily.
Don't you have to remove the dry wall, studs, electrical in order to change from regular doors to pocket doors? Do you need city inspection too since you're removing studs? Easier said than done.

My son somehow slipped his cell phone behind our pocket door, and we can't get it out. This is an older home, can't seem to be the pocket door off the rack? Any advice? I'm extremely desperate!
good vid. i have had several calls on pocket door repair and cutting the bottom to allow for new flooring. the doors are from the 1950's in this area of Minneapolis and i have failed at figuring out how to remove old roller hardware and finding replacement hardware. any help would be appreciated.

Great advice on pocket doors, installation, more because I am planning to install one so that I can have more space in a small bedroom.
